Chapter 21: The Dark Blue Comet, Arrival of the Second Titan!

Space Colony ARK 9 pm…

Shadow had reinstated the Space Colony ARK in recent years as an observational orbital platform to identify incoming threats in space that were headed to Mobius. The colony needed some heavy refurbishment, as most of the tech was outdated, but once it was operational, the station was cleared for use by G.U.N Space Division once all the necessary precautions had been taken.

Truthfully, the ARK's crew saw the meteorite that carried Valkyr to Mobius and warned Shadow about it, but unfortunately for them, their communications were down the day of the Bronze Titan's arrival. Very curious indeed.

One of the people on board the station was a silver hedgehog with what may as well be described as a pot head for quills, golden eyes, marked gloves and boots, as well as numerous markings on his arms and even his forehead to signify his immense psychic power.

This was Silver the Hedgehog, a time traveler who decided that he would do more good staying in the past than by constantly returning to the future. He was sitting in his room, a place he joking called the Think Tank (because it had a lot of tanks full of water that he occasionally sat in for prolonged periods of time to assist with his ability to think clearly) and he was meditating, sitting cross legged in the air due to him using his psychic powers. His body glowed dimly in the room, but seeing as the room was also dark, his body was the only light source there.

Silver usually meditated to clear his mind for every day activities since he willingly joined the G.U.N Space Division so he could do SOMETHING with his life besides fly around and be a goofball with psychic power. So he figured why not join G.U.N and work with Shadow?

The journey he underwent to get to where he was now was a long one, but it was worth it. He ended up doing a lot more good in the here and now than he did if he just kept going back to the future. Not to mention, his future didn't even change when the past was altered, as there was no direct link to the past via wormhole through the 4th dimension. (Read Sonic: Edge of Time to get that reference)

Now, Silver only meditated for two reasons: one, to clear his mind, and two, to see visions of the imminent future. The good news is his visions were rarely wrong, and even if they were wrong in the imminent future, they would likely be right in the far future.

Right now, Silver was trying to see if his psychic power would grant him a vision. Much to his surprise, he was.

But what he saw horrified him.

Silver stood among a burning city, surrounded by corpses, both mutilated and otherwise, the smell of burning bodies permeated the air around him as he looked at his surroundings in a panic. He runs forward, but not of his own will, he soon realized he was watching from the perspective of another in the future… This person came to a large pile of bodies that looked as if their very souls were sucked out of them.

That wasn't the worst part. Among the bodies were those of Tails, his wife Kiko "Roxxane" Fox, his son Tommy, Knuckles, Julia, Jade, Shadow, Rouge, and even Silver himself was in there!

Every single person that Silver knew personally, or had heard about was in that pile, even the Chaotix were there, and so was Dr Eggman. The perspective looked up at what was standing atop the bodies. All Silver could feel was terror.

Genuine, primal, unyielding TERROR.

Atop the bodies was a horned woman with four wings, each wing had a membrane that had the colors of orange flames, her arms comprised of a red crystal, coated in obsidian to form claws and a long tail that swayed and smacked the bodies beneath her as she stood there, back turned to whoever Silver was watching through…

Then she turns her head, her blazing red eye looking not just at the person Silver watched through, but AT SILVER. All he could feel from this woman was insatiable hate.

As if sensing Silver's own eyes through the eyes of the Mobian Silver was watching through, this woman smiled, and uttered one phrase. One. Single. Phrase.

Ulzari: You're tainted. The stain will never wash out. The sun will never shine upon you again. Tainted, broken little toys…

Toys. Plural. Silver then finally got to see the future from his own perspective, and he quickly realized something.

This entire time, he was watching the future through the eyes of Sonic.

The last thing Silver heard was a scream before his sight returned to the present day, where he gasped in horror, dropping to the floor in cold sweat and pushing himself against a Think Tank.

That woman didn't talk to just Sonic.

She talked directly to HIM, AS IF SHE KNEW THAT SOMEONE WOULD HAVE A VISION.

Silver was speechless. There was no feasible way that that woman had seen him through Sonic.

Silver: … I… I may need to chat up an old friend about this…

Silver got up and he began to calm himself down. Once he did, he grabbed his dark blue sleeveless coat with his own custom symbol on its right side shoulder, put it on and he turned the lights to the room on.

Just as he did, the ARK's security system began to blare. Something was on a collision course with the station!

Silver teleported outside of the ARK and used his psychic power to produce an oxygen field around himself, looking out into the coldness of space. Just beyond Mobius's moon, he spotted a dark blue orb glowing…

It was headed right to the ARK! Upon realizing this, he took off flying towards the orb, but he stopped as he realized just how fast it was moving.

It zipped by him and made impact with the station, thankfully only hitting the outside, but the impact definitely managed to move the ARK a bit! Any harder, and the ARK's orbit would begin to decay…

Silver flew right back to the station, landing right next to the impact crater, and he backed off as a large womanly figure rose from the crater.

This woman was 12 feet tall, had dark blue hair, pale skin, dark blue eyes and Dragon wings that seemed to act more as afterburners, as well as a long tail coated in dark blue scales.

This woman also seemed to have a large vent in her abdominal region, possibly how she was able to use her wings as jet boosters.

Her clothing consisted of a sleeveless top with black armored pants and boots, a rose pink cloth hanging around the waistline.

This woman glared at Silver angrily before she grabbed him and held him up, then she spoke a language he couldn't understand!

???: Mel ush Valkyr?! (Where is Valkyr?!)

Silver: W-what?!

???: MEL USH VALKYR?! (WHERE IS VALKYR?!)

Silver: I can't understand you at all!!

???: Hujhog skulm! Hil hinde ti ves!! (Hedgehog scum, don't lie to me!)

Silver manages to teleport out of the woman's grip and he appears a fair distance away from her. He had ZERO idea who or what she was, but he did at least identify one thing: he read a report from Shadow about a Haldarian named Valkyr. Was this mystery woman looking for her?

If so, why?

Silver couldn't focus on that. He had to get her away from the ARK, because he managed to gauge this woman's power from just being held by her.

And she had a LOT. None of it was Chaos energy, or psychic. It was a different power. One that felt… unnaturally cold.

Silver quickly uses a low charge Psycho Shock to get her to chase him, and then he takes off, headed towards Mobius. If he could avoid any heavily populated areas, he could fight her without restraint!

This mystery woman gave chase, roaring out loudly as she swipes at him, but what shocked him the most was the fact that she only used her wings to get short bursts of speed, and when she got close, her wings ROTATED and then extended into razor sharp blades! Silver managed to avoid her attacks but then he got blind sided by a bolt of dark blue energy hitting him and flash freezing his right arm!

With that, he then got tackled and the two began their descent into Mobius's atmosphere, Silver putting a Psycho Barrier around himself to mitigate getting burnt from the ignition. Once beneath the cloud cover, he managed to break free, teleport away and his arm was thawed out. He dove straight to the ground, landing on his feet just as the mystery woman crashes in front of him, but in spite of the fact she didn't use anything to protect herself from re entry, she was unscathed.

So it should come as no surprise that Silver nearly got impaled by one of her wings, but he narrowly dodges and uses Psychokenisis to grab the nearest rock and slam it into her head. He repeated this to try and wear her out, but all he ended up doing was make her more angry as time went on, to the point she started to predict where the rocks would come from and even when to punch, kick or stab them, shattering them into pieces.

Silver was impressed and VERY concerned now, as someone who's able to learn as they fight was a VERY dangerous opponent. Terry the Wolf was a good example, as once he got mad, during a full moon, it would be like watching Van Hellsing rip Dracula a new one as a werewolf.

And I will be amazed if anyone gets that reference.

Silver had to change his strategy, but the mystery woman had already closed the gap, and she leapt up, her wings letting out a full blast that she then used to try and flash freeze Silver with! He almost didn't avoid it, but he teleported out of the way just in time, managing to find a hiding spot that left the mystery woman confused and searching for him.

???: Ulk yilta!! (Show yourself!!)

Silver managed to regain his composure. He needed to end this with one decisive strike, and he had one way of doing it, as well as plenty of objects in the area he could use to pull it off.

With that in mind, he teleports into the skies and draws upon every last ounce of his psychic power, the cuffs on his wrists and boots opening up to provide him the boost he needed to work his magic.

Rocks, trees, and various other objects all began to gather into one place, merging together into one giant sphere of immense size. The mystery woman looked up just in time to hear one thing and one thing only.

Silver: METEOR SMASH!!

Silver then uses his power to drop the sphere right on top of the woman, the sheer magnitude, size and weight of it more than enough to crush her right there…

Or at least, it would have been. Silver was shocked to find that not only had the mystery woman not been crushed, but she managed to stop it in its tracks and was holding it back!

Then came the explosion, debris flying everywhere and making Silver shit an entire human sized brick before he was socked in the face and then brought to the ground. Before he could recover, he was grabbed by his ankles and held up!

???: MEL. USH. VALKYR?! (WHERE. IS. VALKYR?!)

Silver found his legs slowly freezing. He started to panic, but then he had an idea. It was probably something he should have done before, but hindsight is 20/20.

Silver reaches out to her mind directly with his, not attempting to hijack her brain, he was trying to get information. The information in question? How to understand the language she was speaking.

As if recognizing what was going on, her mind let him through, his feet stopped being frozen over, and he was let go as not only was he gleaming information about her language, he was soothing her, assuring her that in spite of what happened a moment ago, he wasn't a threat.

Once he had what he needed, he stopped, and he looked up at her. She still seemed angry on the outside but at least she wasn't trying to kill him…

???: Where is Valkyr?

Bingo. Silver could understand her, and more importantly, speak the same language she could.

Silver: I'm sorry to say, I have no idea where she is, but you are on the right planet.

The mystery woman went wide eyed in surprise.

???: You speak Voldarian?!

Silver: Only because I looked into your mind just now.

???: Oh.

Silver: Yeah. But like I said, Valkyr is here on Mobius.

???: … Good…

Silver: In any case, I'm Silver. Silver the Hedgehog.

He offers her a handshake, but she doesn't take it. Instead she just looked at him with a blank stare.

Solda: Solda. Solda Arcterus.

Silver: Well, nice to meet you–

Solda: Spare me the pleasantries. I need to find my wife.

Silver: Wait! I might be able to make that easier.

Before Solda could take off flying, she stopped, turned around and looked at Silver.

Silver: I can contact someone who knows her whereabouts.

Solda: …

Silver: Please? Just trust me? I can help you find your wife!

Solda: Why should I trust someone who reads minds?

Silver: I didn't get any other info from you besides your language, I promise.

Solda just stares at Silver then she leans down and… sniffs him. He was nervous she might get hostile again. Solda sneezes.

Solda: I believe you.

Whew. Second crisis was averted. Well, mostly. Silver gets on comms and tries to contact Shadow.

Silver: G.U.N HQ, this is Commander Silver, is General Shadow there?

Shadow responded instantly.

Shadow: Silver? What's going on? Your tracker says you're on the surface of Mobius.

Silver: It's a long story, but do you know where I can find that Valkyr lady you mentioned a few days ago?

Shadow: She just left to go back to her cabin on Angel Island. Why?

Silver looks at Solda, then turns his attention back to the call.

Silver: I got a surprise for her. Hopefully she likes it…

Silver was a bit skeptical that Solda was Valkyr's wife, but would go along with it so long as Solda behaved.

Shadow: What kind of surprise?

Silver: Her wife's here. She damn near knocked the ARK out of stable orbit.
