Chapter 7

Fight For the Kingdom

Standing outside of the doom lords new castle, Master Frown groaned in annoyance, knowing that he was the one who had to guard the castle.

"I can't believe that Master Doom ordered me to guard the castle while everyone else gets to have fun inside!" Master Frown complained to himself. "This is not fair!"

As Master Frown continued to guard the castle he noticed a mysterious figure approaching the castle. He squinted his eyes to see that it was Richard.

Despite how confused he was that Richard of all people was the one who was sent to the castle, Master Frown didn't move an inch. Richard soon approached Master Frown as the doom lord glared at him in silence.

"What do you want? You just don't know when to give up, do you?" Master Frown retorted.

"I am here to compromise with you to return our kingdom to us." Richard told Master Frown.

The doom lord let out a laugh in response. "As if we would return the kingdom to you! Your home now belongs to the doom lords!"

"Even if the kingdom belongs to you, there are a couple of rules that I have neglected to tell you. Building a new castle here means that there are certain taxes you need to pay. You might want to listen. We could be here awhile."

For the past couple of minutes, Master Frown was forced to hear Richard go on and on about rules and taxes. The more he heard Richard speak, the more tired Master Frown was.

Right when Master Frown was about to close his eyes, he was suddenly taken by surprise by Hawkodile. Master Frown tried to run away and warn the other doom lords, but got knocked out with just a single punch from Hawkodile. With Master Frown unconscious, Unikitty, Puppycorn, and Dr. Fox met up with their friends.

"Alright! That's one doom lord down! Only 8 to go!" Hawkodile exclaimed.

"Uh, that's still a lot of doom lords. Besides, it was only Master Frown. I don't think defeating him was going to be that difficult anyway." Dr. Fox pointed out, not really seeing Master Frown as that much of a threat.

"Dr. Fox is right." Richard agreed. "We need to be careful from now on."

Everyone nodded in agreement before they were ready to enter the castle. Richard was the first to enter the castle, followed by Hawkodile and Dr. Fox. Unikitty was about to enter next before she noticed Puppycorn trembling in fear.

There was no telling what would happen the moment they confront the doom lords. While Puppycorn was scared of what the doom lords might do to him, he was more afraid of the fact that Unikitty might get hurt. Before he could worry about it some more, he felt Unikitty hold on to his hands.

"Puppycorn, I promise that everything is going to be fine! We just have to stay positive!" Unikitty smiled.

With a relieved sigh, Puppycorn replied, "Thanks, Unikitty! I really needed that! Let's go!"

Both, Unikitty and Puppycorn stepped through the front door as they followed their friends. Everyone stepped through the halls of the castle to see that it was nothing like Unikitty's old castle. There was not the tiniest bit of color to be found. Every hallway that they walk through ended up being dark and depressing, just like the doom lords wanted.

As they walked deeper into the castle, Unikitty and her friends started to climb stairs all the way to the top. As they got higher, they began to hear the evil laughter of the doom lords. Upon realizing that the doom lords were just behind the door they were approaching, Unikitty and her friends knew that they had to be ready for anything.

At that moment, Hawkodile kicked down the door, gaining the attention of the doom lords. Master Doom appeared to be more annoyed by the presence of Unikitty and her friends more than anything else.

"You don't know when to quit do you?" Master Doom sighed.

"Nope! If you can pretty please give us our kingdom back, we would really appreciate it!" Unikitty replied.

"You guys don't have a choice because we already defeated Master Frown!" Hawkodile drew his sword.

This didn't intimidate the doom lords in the least. They all simply laughed that Unikitty and the others think they could defeat them.

"Master Frown was the weak link out of all of us!" Master Doom laughed. "Do you really think you can defeat all 8 of us?"

"I know we can!" Dr. Fox stepped forward. "We will stop you guys and save our kingdom!"

"We will see! Doom lords, attack!"

The moment Master Doom gave the command, the doom lords rushed forward to attack Unikitty and her friends. Hawkodile countered this by swinging his sword at them. As Hawkodile kept the doom lords distracted, Richard floated under the doom lords, tripping them one by one.

This gave Dr. Fox the chance to take out her freeze ray and encase the doom lords in blocks of ice. With most of the doom lords frozen or unconscious, Master Hazard was the only one left. He tried to take Hawkodile by surprise by throwing a fireball at him. Thankfully, Hawkodile noticed it and blocked it with his sword.

"Not this time!" Hawkodile taunted before knocking out Master Hazard with a punch.

It was at this point when all of the doom lords were defeated, leaving just Master Doom. Master Doom glared at everyone before she stepped forward, electricity flowing through her hands.

"Enough of this!"

At that moment, Master Doom used her powers to paralyze Hawkodile, Dr. Fox, and Richard so they won't interfere. They all tried to get up, but couldn't move an inch as Master Doom approached them.

"It's time that I finished you off." Master Doom yelled as she got ready to destroy the group of friends.

Before Master Doom could do anything, Unikitty stood in her way. She wasn't going to let Master Doom hurt her friends.

"Leave them alone!" Unikitty yelled.

"Unikitty! What are you doing?!" Puppycorn gasped, surprised by this.

"So, the princess thinks she can stop me too?" Master Doom mocked. "I've had enough of you and your meddlesome friends! You are the first one who I will destroy, Princess!"

As she said that, Master Doom fired a blast of electricity at Unikitty. The princess then closed her eyes and braced herself for the worst. Much to her surprise, she didn't feel anything.

Unikitty opened her eyes and was shocked to see Puppycorn blocking the blast with his sword. This caused Master Doom's eyes to widen in shock.

"I'm not going to let you hurt Unikitty!" Puppycorn yelled keeping the sword steady in his paws.

Despite her surprise, Master Doom glared at Puppycorn before firing more electricity from her hands. The more electricity that was fired at him, the more Puppycorn struggled to keep his grip on his sword.

Just when Puppycorn thought he was going to drop his sword, he felt Unikitty grab onto the sword as well. He looked over towards the princess, who gave him a reassuring smile.

"I promised to protect you too, remember?" Unikitty said.

Puppycorn smiled back before bringing his attention back to Master Doom. It was at this point when Master Doom struggled to maintain her powers. It got harder for her to fight back as Unikitty and Puppycorn stepped forward, keeping the sword steady. With their combined strength, Unikitty and Puppycorn swung the sword, knocking the electricity right back at Master Doom.

Smoke filled the room before Hawkodile, Dr. Fox, and Richard were free of Master Doom's paralysis. As the smoke cleared, Master Doom looked down and was shocked to see that the impact of the lightning destroyed her body, leaving her as just a head.

"No! The doom lords were supposed to win! How were you able to defeat me?" Master Doom asked Puppycorn.

"Unikitty and I promised to protect each other no matter what." Puppycorn explained. "We won't let you hurt anyone anymore, Master Doom!"

At that moment, the adults stood up, each of them relieved that the battle is over. Unikitty and Puppycorn noticed this and ran over to them.

"Guys! You're okay!" Puppycorn exclaimed.

"We are more than okay, champ! We won!" Hawkodile smiled.

"Yes, but let's not get into intense fights like this again. I'm not that much of a fighter." Richard sighed, exhausted from the battle.

"So, what are we going to do about the doom lords?" Dr. Fox asked.

"Not to worry! I'm sure that the Action Police would take care of them!" Hawkodile assured.

Unikitty and the others soon called the Action Police to the castle. One by one, the doom lords got arrested before they were taken away. With the doom lords defeated, the sun rose once again, marking the dawn of a new era for the kingdom.
