Episode 49 - Franz Hopper
Xana activates 5 towers at once in Lyoko. A first. Okay, so she means business here.
I mean he. You would never think Xana is male but, he is.
Anyway, our heroes head to the hideout.
An elderly man in his 60's greets the group at the hideout.
A man by the name of "Franz Hopper" is deactivating towers, without any of them going to Lyoko.
Franz tells them - that he is the one who created Lyoko and Xana. And he lost control of them.
Franz Hopper tells them, that he created Aelita as a "guardian" of Lyoko.
Hopper explains further that he was a "prisoner" of some sort and managed to escape and find the hideout.
Franz tells them that sending humans to Lyoko can be extremely dangerous - it can lead to "cell degeneration"
What?
Yumi is "infected" with something. Franz finds out about it and Jeremy didn't even find out about it, until now.
Franz tells Jeremy to get lost.
Hopper gives Odd, Yumi and Ulrich some new weapons.
Odd's laser arrows essentially become a boomerang, Ulrich's sword is more powerful and Yumi fan is quicker and stronger.
Jeremy suspects where this Franz Hopper guy came from. They never met him in person before until now.
It's Xana. Xana was inside this Franz Hopper body, reviving him from the dead.
Yumi: We've been double crossed!
Sigh.
Xana disables everyone's weapons.
Odd fights one of Xana's monsters and uses his actual fists for the fight. Okay. Well done.
Suddenly Franz Hopper loses control of Jeremy's keyboard.
Franz: What did you do!?
Jeremy: ...A decoy.
The real Aelita never went to Lyoko - I totally forgot she could make decoys of herself.
Aelita heads to Lyoko after Franz is taken care of.
Aelita deactivates the tower.
Xana tries to choke Jeremy to death but, to no avail.
Back to earth. Jeremy explains to Yumi that there wasn't anything wrong with her at all. End episode.
Overall Rating - 7.0/10 - Okay, I have to say that ending to the episode was set-up very well. No real complaints here. Good episode.
