Episode 52 - The Key
Season 2 finale! Let's go!
As we learned from the previous episode, Franz Hopper is weakening Xana's powers, used to live on earth, Aelita was his daughter, and she was always human.
Franz Hopper created the Super Computer, Lyoko and Xana.
He warns in his video dairy (in the files Jeremy found on his computer) someone wants to "get rid of Franz Hopper"
Aelita reads a file in the computer, that tells the most haunting thing.
Xana has gone out of control, wants to take over the super computer, escape from Lyoko and take over the world.
Jeremy proceeds to read through the files.
Jeremy finds out that Xana never put a virus in Aelita to begin with.
It was all a hoax.
What? 52 episodes later and we had nothing to worry about at all?
No. No way.
Aelita expects that this isn't their final mission. Something is missing to "the key" of this puzzle.
Aelita deactivates the Super Computer (It's at the very bottom of the hideout. It was shown for a few measly seconds, at most in a few episodes of the show.)
Aelita passes out.
Jeremy quickly turns it back on.
Aelita said she did that, because she wanted the world to live, normally without her.
Jeremy looks on a computer - that Xana DID steal something from Aelita - a small fragment of data.
"A small fragment of data"
They go to Sector 5 to receive the fragment.
Aelita gets close to the fragment.
It's a trap.
When all seems lost - Aelita's protected by some kind of bubble shield.
Aelita gets sudden flash blacks.
Aelita used to live in the abaonded house, shown in the very early episodes of Season 2.
Franz Hopper (Aelita's father) drags Aelita to Code Lyoko.
Two men are chasing after them.
Franz tells Aelita - "they are going to a place where they can be safe"
That being Lyoko.
That was the fragment that was stolen but, it was given back to her, while Aelita was in the bubble shield.
Back on earth - everyone realizes that Aelita is no longer under a threat or concern to Xana.
But Xana might just now, be a threat to the real world.
Jeremy explains due to the "Return To The Past Now" that Xana is actually stronger than ever. It made him stronger and he has bigger things to worry about, than Aelita.
Aelita realizes she was always human and she isn't afraid anymore.
And that's it. The end of Season 2.
Overall Rating: - 6.9/10 - I feel it was a tad bit predictable, even more so than I wanted. And it's never really explained (with what I've written down) how Xana is somehow stronger than ever, and how he got access to the real world now. But it was a cut above, a generally adequate episode and a good finale overall. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing extarodinary or even great. But nothing bad or horrible at all. Good enough end to Season 2.
