Episode 53 - Straight To Heart

Welcome to Season 3! Let's do this.

Oh god. What happened to Jeremy's voice?

Apparently this is taking place after summer vacation.

I heard a vague line about this in the last few episodes of Season 2 but, I didn't think much about it.

It looks like nothing has changed. No Xana attacks for the past two weeks, despite the fact that Xana escaped from the super computer.

Looks like Sissy's voice changed a bit too.

Sharon Mann does the voice of Jeremy AND Aelita, throughout all of the episodes of the show. I call BS.

Sissy kisses Odd on the nose. I'm not sure what the point of that was.

William is back for the brand new school year.

His eyes are scaring the you know what, out of me.

I think everyone is in the 9th grade now. I'm not totally sure.

Yumi has a younger brother, who is apparently is now old enough to attend the school - he was shown for a few episodes but, I'll doubt he'll add much to the plot.

Our heroes head to Sector 5.

Ugh. No new locations?

Aelita seems to be a lot more brave and she's given much, MUCH better and more mature dialogue here. So that's a plus.

We are shown a good 6-7 minutes of our heroes being in Sector 5.

Jeremy never explains why exactly were here.

There is a giant blue sphere, directly in the middle of the sector.

Xana's monsters want it destroyed and ignore our heroes.

Jeremy scans it and alerts the team, that the sphere is a "Central grid to the real world. It's the heart of Lyoko."

Aelita gets some new powers but, it isn't enough to combat them.

Xana's monsters outnumber them, and the team bails out of Lyoko.

The sphere is left unprotected and Xana's monsters, apparently just leave and left it alone.

Everyone's back on Earth, safe and sound. End episode.

Overall Rating - 4.8/10 - ...That was not a good premiere for Season 3. There wasn't even an activated tower done by Xana here. Nothing was refreshing here at all. No new henchmen and Xana's monsters looked, the same like they did two seasons ago. Ehh. In due time, let's see if Season 3 can get off the ground, better than this.
