Episode 58 - The Pretender

They NEVER showed episodes of Code Lyoko on Boomerang - Cartoon Network's sister station, did they?

I don't think they ever did.

Xana attack in 5 seconds in the episode. Xana takes the control of a bird.

Ulrich and Odd are aruging each other to see - who statistically is better at defeating monsters on Lyoko.

Inbound filler episode.

A 6th grader has a crush on Yumi. I don't even remember his name and he'll probably be forgotten about, by next episode.

Yumi does an impressive backflip in gym class. It actually looked pretty cool, then I make it sound, by typing it down.

Xana takes control over a flock of birds, and attacks the school with them.

Yumi's stalker continues to be head over heels with her. He's not the least bit engaging.

The other three head to Lyoko.

The steampunk music makes a comeback.

Odd: I never get bad grades.

Ulrich: If you did, you would've drown in your grades, ages ago.

Okay.

Ulrich slices and kills four crab monsters in a row.

Aelita deactivates the tower.

The birds attack Jeremy at the hideout, just before he could activate the Return To The Past Now button.

Yumi is in bad enough shape to go to the hospital. Jonathan (Yumi's stalker) tells Yumi that everything will be okay.

As the boys bicker - Xana's monster take control of Aelita - briefly once again.

And doing so, Xana destroys the desert sector bit by bit, like he did with the forest sector.

Jeremy regains consciousness.

Return To The Past Now.

Aelita did the best, statistically in battle, according to Jeremy. Sigh.

End episode.

Overall Rating - 5.5/10 - Started off as a complete filler episode for the first five minutes. And then it just became way too serious and way too dramatic. Jeremy should've hit the Return To The Past Now button as soon as Aelita deactivated the tower. Ulrich and Odd competing against each other, just made up for a dumb plot of an episode, just for the sake of having a plot in an episode. At least Yumi's backflip and Ulrich killing the crab monsters, looked cool.
