It was night. The nights on Alderaan must be beautiful. But Luke was spending it in Aldera's underground tunnels and sewers. He knew full well he should have waited for Darth Vader. He should have stayed put. But after learning all he had... Organa was put away on the Millennium Falcon. Solo would inform Darth Vader of Luke's whereabouts. The hunt was on and Luke had a very personal reason to not wait. Abandoned. No. Kenobi had discarded him. Threw him away for someone who was 'better'. Luke scoffed bitterly. He didn't have it in his heart to hate his twin sister though. She did not ask to be chosen at his disposal. She did not even know he existed. If anything he planned to reveal all this treachery when he went to Nur and have her join him. It was all Kenobi. Kenobi would pay for the life he should have protected Luke from. For the lives that had been taken because of his apathy. Kenobi and all his Jedi would pay with their lives.

The tunnels of Aldera were a lot cleaner than Coruscant. It made it easy to spot dirt and grime that might actually be that of a person's shoe. Organa had told the tale of Kenobi's and his selfishness and how they had destroyed Luke's life willingly. The location of Kenobi had had to be forced out of him. Luke stopped and opened his holomap, determining where he was before he kept moving.

Solo hated this. He really should've asked for more money. Darth kriffing Vader was staring him down. He had already explained everything to the frightening robot guy and Organa had been turned over to Imperial custody. What more did he want?

"Look I couldn't stop him." Solo began, "Kid's got a lightsaber ya know?"

Darth Vader finally turned away from him. Solo exhaled slightly but did not dare to move just yet.

"Did he say where he was going?" Darth Vader finally spoke.

Solo nodded. "Somewhere in the underground tunnels..." he quickly produced a small data chip. "Organa said he'd find Kenobi there."

Darth Vader took the chip and nodded. A chrome and blue astromech droid rolled up to Darth Vader and waited patiently as the Sith Lord plugged the chip into it. A moment later a map was made. Darth Vader did not speak another word as he turned abruptly and stalked away.

For just a moment Solo felt worried for the kid. What had they gotten themselves into?

Luke slowly climbed down a soaked, slippery ladder. Hitting solid ground again Luke peered down the dark tunnel. The red glow of his lightsaber would be helpful. But it would also give away his location. Luke had to rely on his other senses to continue through the nearly pitch black tunnel. He hunched over slightly, raising his hand until he found the ceiling. Then he went forward.

Something grabbed his arm. Luke turned and struck a fist but missed entirely, a smaller hand grabbed his wrist.

"Easy tiger."

Luke blinked in surprise, peering at the woman in front of him. "Mara?"

He could practically hear her smirk as she let him go and put something in his hand. "Don't you ever think things through?"

Luke felt the object a moment before realizing they were goggles. Slipping them over his eyes and behind his head his vision instantly became a blue hued night vision. Mara was smirking at him.

"Do us a favor. Don't go setting off traps." Mara pointed at the ground.

Luke knelt and exhaled. There was a thin string there. "How did you find me?" Luke asked, stepping over the string and continuing.

"I followed you, or rather the Falcon, from Coruscant."

"Why?"

"I take care of inconveniences, remember?" Mara pushed past Luke. "A Jedi nest is suspected of being here."

"Kenobi's Jedi?" Luke asked.

Mara shrugged as she led the way. "I call them Princess Leia's Jedi. She's been suspected for a long time now."

Luke nodded and followed until they came to a crossroads in the tunnels.

"That looks nasty." Mara commented.

"What?"

"That." Mara gestured to the burn across Luke's rib cage. "Got in a tussle without me?"

Luke shrugged. "It's not as bad as it looks."

"It could get infected in here." Mara countered.

"Glad to know you care." Luke pulled up his map. "This way."

"Lord Vader should be planet side by now." Mara commented idly.

"He's here." Luke said. "But I can't wait for him."

"If your wound gets us both killed I'll gut you." Mara shot back. "We could use the brute."

The path ended in a ledge. Below was a seemingly endless hole, other pathways were visible around the hole, but with no clear way to reach them. Luke and Mara shared a look. "Can you jump, Blondie?"

"Yea, what about you?"

Mara grinned. Luke imagined she winked at him before launching herself from the ledge. But suddenly, half way there, a trap was triggered. Several laser blasts suddenly filled the air. Luke had to backtrack to avoid getting shot in the head. "Mara!"

The blasts stopped as abruptly as they had started.

"Luke?"

"Mara!" Luke came back to the edge. "Are you okay?"

"Surprisingly... I'm fine."

Luke could make out Mara's silhouette on the other side. "Wouldn't advise doing that."

Luke snorted. "No. Really?"

Mara waved him off. "Shut up Blondie. Find a way around."

"Sure thing. Be careful."

Mara laughed. "Always."

Luke turned back down the tunnel, intent on making a quick trip around the giant trap. But he did not get a single step in. Somebody rushed him with a blue lightsaber. Luke responded in kind, easily defending against the attacker. Mara called out but Luke could not bother to answer. The attacker was much faster than Kenobi and with the already tight confines of the tunnels it was taking a lot to keep up without bashing his brains in himself. Luke's lightsaber wound was also becoming agitated with the exaggerated movements. The blur of the night vision allowed Luke only to know this was definitely not Kenobi. This one was younger. Luke moved away from the ledge, taking the fight back into the tunnel as they thrashed and slashed at eachother, neither paying much mind to the walls and ground receiving the brunt of their duel.

Luke spun under a swipe and tried stabbing at the man's side. But he was just fast enough to move out of the way. But the Jedi did not expect Luke to draw a second lightsaber. Luke sliced through the man's knee with Olin's lightsaber. The Jedi cried out in agony and fell. Frantically he waved his lightsaber at Luke. Luke knocked the lightsaber aside and stabbed downward. But before he could finish off the Jedi the Force rammed into him from behind. All the air in Luke's lungs was gone as he was thrown through the tunnel and came to a rough, rolling stop several yards away from the fallen Jedi.

Luke felt his head hit the floor hard and his goggles glitched out and blanked. Something warm was coating his side. That same liquid like warmth was running down his face. Luke wheezed as he pulled off the broken night vision goggles. He tried to get up but that attempt made his vision black out entirely. His hands wandered the cold stone in search for his lightsaber, but it was not there. He could not even summon up the strength to use the Force to find it.

Something was coming. Luke stiffened and forced himself to stay still. His vision still swam horrendously and the silhouette standing over him was a terribly odd shape. Fingers touched his temple unexpectedly. Luke shied away from the unwanted touch, clumsily trying to push the hand away. But the owner of the hand was persistent. Luke did not even remember falling unconscious.

Obi-Wan sighed. "Are you all right?"

The Jedi boy, a pale ginger named Cal Kestis, offered a pained smile. "No, I'm not. My leg's gone."

"I am sorry, Cal. The Rebellion will make sure you get the best care possible."

Cal shrugged and leaned back against the wall. "This is still worth it. We'll get Leia back, right?"

Obi-Wan smiled and reached out, squeezing Cal's shoulder. "We will."

With that Obi-Wan turned and watched the other Jedi in his charge. Ahsoka Tano was tending to Luke's injuries on the other side of the large cavern dwelling.

"Will he be okay?" Obi-Wan asked as he gained her side.

"Vader is going to kill us all." She muttered.

"So...?"

Ahsoka sighed in exasperation. "I didn't think I was going to throw him that far."

"Just do the best you can." Obi-Wan said glumly. They needed the boy awake and able to stand. Otherwise Darth Vader would likely kill them all and his injured son along with them. Leia would be lost.
