Wow, you guys were sure on this fic's case fast. Since some of you (Captain Imaginat) are guests, I'll try and answer your questions at the end of the chapter, m'kay?
Sora was left to ponder Mami's words as she walked over to the pink haired girl.
"Thank goodness, you rescued Kyubey for me. He's a dear friend of mine and I was so worried!"
"He called out to me..." The pink haired girl admitted, her eyes lowering to face the injured albino creature in her arms. "I could hear his voice inside my head."
"Ah, I see..." Mami hummed. "I can tell by your uniforms that you both go to Mitakihara Middle School. Are you eighth graders?" Both girls nodded in response as the pocket-dimension fizzled out of existence, dropping the group of four off where they came in.
The sound of someone landing from nearby. Another girl. This one not in a uniform, instead wearing a white and black outfit with a shield on her wrist. The look in her violet eyes didn't sit well with Sora.
"Looks like the Witch escaped." Mami stated. "You'd better go after it if you want to finish it off. I won't mind if you take it this time."
"But I still have work to do here." The stranger declared.
"You don't understand, do you? I'm telling you I'm willing to overlook this."
The stranger's glare got much more hostile, and Sora summoned his Keyblade.
"That's enough!" Sora demanded. "This really isn't the best time or place for a fight. Don't you have something you should be doing?"
"If you'd get out of my way, I would complete my mission and leave."
"As if! I won't let you hurt anyone here!"
Sky blue met dark purple as Sora and the stranger kept their standoff. But, the stranger relented, turning on her heel and leaping off of the stack of boxes, vanishing without a trace.
Sora and the two normal girls sighed in relief as the former dissipated his Keyblade. With the danger gone, the four of them set out towards the exit, finding a tarp and laying it out as a sort of picnic blanket to set the injured creature in the middle of it.
"Oh, that doesn't look good." Sora said, sucking some air through his teeth. "Eh, nothing I can't fix!" He declared, standing up and summoning his Keyblade. Mami saw this and immediately stood up as well, glaring at him. But, instead of attacking, Sora cast Curaga, draining his magic temporarily to heal both the creature and himself, as he was still a bit winded from his fight with Master Xehanort only about two hours ago. Once the spell finished, he dissipated his Keyblade again and sat back down.
The creature shifted and awoke, sitting upright and facing Mami.
"Thank you Mami! You're a lifesaver!" The creature stated, surprising the two normal girls.
"I'm right here, y'know..." Sora sighed, slightly miffed at not getting credit for actually healing the creature.
"I'm not the one you should be thanking. He healed you." Mami explained, referring to Sora. "I was just passing by."
The creature turned to face Sora then. "Thank you very much! My name is Kyubey!"
"Were you the one who was calling out to me?" The pink haired girl asked, and Kyubey turned to face her.
"That's right Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki." Kyubey confirmed, once again shocking the two girls. Sora assumed the blue-haired one was Sayaka, due to hearing her mention a 'Madoka' earlier. Which would make the pink one Madoka.
"Woah, hold on a sec." Sayaka said. "How do you know our names?"
"I came here because I have a favor to ask of you." Kyubey continued, ignoring the question. "I want you to make contracts with me, and become Magical Girls!"
"...Huh?" Sora wondered.
"Don't you think you should explain things a little more?" Mami questioned.
"Hmm... Maybe I should." Kyubey agreed.
"Well, we shouldn't linger here. It won't end well if anyone finds us here. Follow me, I know a place we can talk."
It was sundown by the time the group reached their destination. If Sora had to guess, it was Mami's apartment.
"I live alone, so make yourselves at home." Mami explained. "Although I don't have much as far as refreshments go."
Sora, Sayaka, and Madoka sat down around a triangular glass table. Mami joined them a few minutes with four teacups and four slices of homemade cake.
"Wow! This is delicious!" Sora remarked as he sampled a small bite of the cake he was handed. "It's like Little Chef's cooking right at home!"
"Who?"
"Oh, just the chef of the bistro back where I'm from." Sora clarified.
"Hehe, I'm flattered." Mami said, a hint of red on her cheeks, although it could've just been the sunset coming in through the windows. "Anyway, Kyubey chose you two, so you're both involved in this, like it or not." She continued, turning to Madoka and Sayaka. "And I thought it'd be best if we had a talk."
"Mh-hm!" Sayaka agreed. "Ask us anything you want!"
"Sayaka..." Madoka sighed. "You've got it wrong."
Mami once again gave a small laugh at the girls' antics. She then set the gem she had been holding in the pocket dimension earlier on the table.
"Wow, pretty!" Madoka remarked.
"It's called a Soul Gem." Mami explained. "When Kyubey chooses a girl, one of these is created when she makes a contract with him. It's the source of our magic, and it's also the proof that we're Magical Girls."
'So it isn't too unlike my Keyblade. Got it.' Sora thought. "Hey, what's this 'contract' thing anyway?"
"When a girl makes a contract with me, she can have any wish she desires. No matter how impossible."
Sora wasn't as taken aback. This wasn't the first wishgranter he'd met on his travels. Except a difference between Kyubey and Genie was that the latter could grant three wishes instead of one, and was bound by a few rules. Kyubey didn't seem to have those limitations.
"Woah! So we could wish for treasure? Or eternal youth? Or a hundred and eight course banquet..." Sayaka said.
"Maybe that last one's a bit much...?" Madoka chuckled.
"In exchange for that wish, a Soul Gem is created. But, if you have a Soul Gem, it will then be your duty to fight Witches.
"Witches...?" Sora wondered. "Ha! Bring it on! I've gone against my fair share of witches before!"
"Really?" Mami countered. "And yet you don't know what a Familiar is?"
"I- Well, I guess I should say one witch in particular."
Meanwhile in an undisclosed world, Maleficent stopped in her tracks.
"Eh? What is it now?" Pete wondered.
"I believe Sora is speaking ill of me again."
"Yeah, I see... So I guess we're gonna pay Kid Keyblader and his goody two-shoes friends a little visit soon, eh?"
"In time." Maleficent stated. "In time..."
"Well, whatever 'witch' you claim to have dealt with, these Witches aren't like that. If Magical Girls are said to be born from wishes, then Witches are creatures born of curses."
Sora bit his tongue to keep from calling out how similar that sounded to the Heartless being born from darkness.
"Magical Girls bring hope to the world." Kyubey added. "Witches bring despair. And since they're invisible to humans, they're that much more insidious. Anxiety and mistrust, rage and hatred. They sow the seeds of disaster all over the world."
"Suicides that can't be explained and murders without motive. A Witch's curse is usually the cause of such things. It festers within a person, and grows and grows until it consumes them." Mami revealed.
"If there's things like that out there, how come no one else knows about 'em?" Sayaka asked.
"A Witch is careful about not letting humans see them. They hide deep within the Labyrinths they create." Kyubey explained. "You know that maze-like place you were in earlier today? That was a Labyrinth."
"Actually, you both were in a lot of danger. If a human ever wanders into a Labyrinth, they seldom make it out alive. If Sora hadn't come by when he did, you both likely would have been dead." Mami stated. "Speaking of, Sora. How did you fight off those Familiars earlier? You can't possibly be a Magical Girl."
"I was waiting for that." Sora sighed. "I'm a Keyblade Wielder." He dared to say, practically feeling Donald's judging stare as he slowly revealed bits of the truth. "Just like how your magic comes from having a Soul Gem, mine comes from having a Keyblade."
"I see..." Mami trailed. "And how, pray tell, have neither Keyblade Wielders or Magical Girls met?"
Okay, now it was time for a lie.
"Oh, we work in really small and obscure places, and since it appears that it's almost impossible at first to tell between a Magical Girl and a normal person, we very easily could've bumped into each other and not realized it."
"I suppose you make a fair point." Mami conceded. "Mind if I ask where you mostly work?"
"I doubt you've heard of them." Sora said. Technically the truth. "The Destiny Islands."
"Indeed. I never have heard of them... And what brings you all the way out to Mitakihara?"
"I'm looking for a friend. A fellow Keyblade Wielder. Her name is Kairi."
"Kairi... Well, I'll help you look for her. I owe you one after all."
"Really?! That's great!"
"But first, I would like to invite you on a few Witch hunts with me. Madoka and Sayaka too."
"Huh? Why?"
"I think that if they get a feel for what it's like to fight a few Witches, they can make the decision they feel is best. Remember, death is part of the deal."
Madoka and Sayaka sighed in worry and response.
"Hey, wasn't that weird girl earlier a Magical Girl?" Sora wondered.
"She was." Mami confirmed. "A powerful one at that."
"So isn't she against these Witches, too? Why don't you try to team up? There's strength in numbers. I should know."
"It's not that simple, Sora. You see, by defeating Witches, a certain reward can be gained. And Magical Girls will typically fight one another over that reward."
"Oh..." Sora said, defeated.
With the discussion mostly over, Madoka and Sayaka got up to leave. "Bye, Mami! Bye Sora!"
"See you later!"
With the two normal girls gone, it was only Mami and Sora left.
"...So, is there a reason you're sticking around?"
Sora scratched the back of his head as he made a confession. "I, uh, don't exactly have a place to stay... Would it be cool if I crashed here for a while?"
Mami lightly giggled. "I guess."

Reviews: So, Captain Imaginat. I'll say it up front: I have no clue who the Foretellers are. So they're not coming. I might include Pete and Maleficent as major antagonists, but not the 'main' antagonist. I won't include Data Organization XIII due to this not being a digital world. Kairi will definitely play a major role, Jiminy, as we saw, is still with Sora after KH3. Donald and Goofy are a huge maybe on if I'll use them at all, Sora will have all of his abilities from KH3 and maybe some from previous games, so don't worry about that. Pain and Panic? As much as I love them and their dynamics with Hades and the others, I'd have to find some way to shoehorn the god of death and his lackeys in as well. This fic will mostly focus on Madoka Magica and its plot, so no previous Disney worlds, sorry. I might try if I write a spinoff or sequel book when this is over. I hope this answers your questions!
