Episode 89 - Music To Soothe The Savage Beast
Yes, that's the name of the episode.
MAJOR NOTE: It's worth noting these last 7 episodes of the show never aired on Cartoon Network.
They aired these episodes exclusively on the Cartoon Network website and that was it. It ended with little fanfare as it did.
What kind of bullshit is that?
They aired the last batch of episodes, online only in November 2007 and called it a day.
They couldn't have aired these on Cartoon Network at 7 PM or 8 PM at night?
What else was on the network?
Ed, Edd n' Eddy, Billy & Mandy, Foster's Home, etc. all lost popularity by late 2007 so they didn't bother to do that but, show reruns of they're other shows 24/7?
Airing 88 episodes prior to this on Cartoon Network but, they couldn't do it only 7 more times? Politics I swear.
Man, no wonder I'm investing so much time writing stuff about this show down.
Anyways, the actual plot of the episode
There is a concert happening downtown.
Aelita seems to have the butterflies for the event.
Aelita is headlining the event and is the main DJ for the show.
9 minutes into the show and there's no real drama to speak of.
Just everyone getting ready for the show tonight.
Xana attacks a secruity guard at the concert. I spoke too soon.
Xana then takes out Aelita from behind.
Come to find out, there's a few secruity guards under Xana's control.
Ulrich distracts them, while Odd and Yumi run to Lyoko.
The secruity guard hurls Aelita into Lyoko, just as Yumia and Odd get there.
William joins in on the fun and attacks our heroes at Lyoko.
Wiliam is riding a manatee and 89 episodes later, the manatees STILL sound like monkeys.
Yumi and Odd do a double team move in the air and kick William out of the air and dump him into the digital sea.
Aelita deactivates the tower.
Return To The Past Now.
Aelita performs at the concert like a star and everyone enjoys her performance. Jeremy watches on in attendance and loves it.
The song playing at the concert is "Break Away" by The Subdigitals.
End episode.
Overall Rating - 7/10 - Well, I should give this a low end 6 rating but, it was upbeat, and everyone was having fun. There were no distractions or bad dialogue at any point in the episode, ruining anything. Sure, it was predictable but, it was fun. Simple as that. Bonus sympathy points for Cartoon Network never airing this episode on TV. Giving it a 7/10 rating, simply for having the really cool and good song at the concert. It was a good performance. Original song as well, like it's a property and symbolizes Code Lyoko.
