So, as some of you probably know, I just deleted most of my work on and Archive of our own. The reason being that I didn't like how those stories were going and I felt like I was trying to do too many all at once. So for the time being this one and Reborn WHERE!?!? are the only ones I'll try to work on. Thank you for understanding and if you have any complaints drop a review. Who knows I might read it or I might just ignore it completely.

The Dreadnaught, Rings of Saturn Sol system 4015 A.D.

? PoV

Staring up at the giant figure of Oryx, the Taken king as he floated over to me past the lightless bodies of my fireteam and my ghost Anansi. I felt true unyielding despair in that moment and as he was raising his sword, Will breaker for the final swing that would kill me and drain my light forever I remembered back to how this all started. My name is Petra Parker and this is my story

Space between Life and Death

Petra PoV

I was floating in a vast ocean of webs not doing anything when I bumped into something. Looking up I saw a giant spider looking down at me. "Sorry, Mr.spider, I didn't see you there." " It is okay hatchling. You were not meant to be here quite yet, but you stayed here until the right moment and that moment is now. Before you go though I have a question for you."

Seeing no harm in answering a simple question I nodded my head in acknowledgement. "Good, now for the question. Are you a Spider or are you a Woman?" Thinking about it I looked at my body for the first time in who knows how long I saw a red and blue suit with a bold white spider stretching across the front and black webbing in the red areas. " I'm a Spider-Woman, I guess."

Laughing, the giant spider said " no different from your other variations. Now rise Petra Parker, rise and defend the world of man again.

Cosmodrome, Old Russia Sol System 3098 A.D.

General PoV

We open on a sunrise cast over a Cliffside with a bunch of rusted out cars and signs showing the wear and tear that they have been through. On the opposite side of the cliff was a giant wall that was rusting and some pieces were missing from the side of it. We focus on a small drone flying around scanning various skeletons. After scanning one in a car we hear a Male voice echo from it saying " Ouch." In a deep voice. About 2 miles away we see a group of strange looking beings.

Most of them had four arms except for a few of them who had two arms with stumps below with a cap on them. We see one of the bigger ones hold up a rifle and look through the scope and see the drone. Letting out a roar the group moves to get to the drone before it can finish its search.

Hearing the roar the drone hurries it search and finally it finds what it's looking for. "Is it possible?" upon saying that it's shell expands until the corner bits are floating around a blue sphere and it says "There you are." And then a bright flash of light happens.

Petra PoV

Hearing someone saying "Guardian… Guardian? Eyes up Guardian!" Slowly opening my eyes for what feels like the first time in a long time I see a floating drone colored black with gold

accents. "Agh, what are you?" I asked it and at first it seemed surprised about something then it shuffled its shell around and said" It worked. You're alive! You don't know how long I've been looking for you." After its eye blinked it continued " I'm a Ghost. Actually I'm your Ghost. And you… Well, you've been dead a long time. So, you're going to see a lot of things that you won't understand." Hearing a roar in the distance the Ghost turned to it and after turning back to me said " This is Fallen territory. We aren't safe here. I have to get you to the city." Floating to the right it looked around and after making sure that it was good flew back to me and said " Hold still." And promptly vanished.

Looking around in confusion I said " Hey, where did you go?" And then I heard him say in the eye piece that I somehow didn't notice was in my ear. " Don't worry I'm still with you. We need to move fast." Looking around I noticed an open door about fifty yards ahead of me in the giant wall and sprinted to it. I made it there in about 10 seconds and while I wanted to ask how I got there so fast Ghost urged me to move so we could find a safe spot. Following the stairs I entered a room.

While dark there was some sun shining through the slits in the side. Moving forward there was a missing panel in the wall and when I got close to it I saw something scurry up the side of the pipe and after jumping a little I heard from the Ghost "Shhh, don't let them know we are here." Before I moved I asked Ghost as quietly as I could " Is there a way we could communicate without speaking." and after waiting a little, Ghost said " I attached a line of Light to the part of your brain that controls thought, so just think about what you want to say and I should hear it."

After sending a thought back in confirmation I moved up the stairs and my first impression was 'It is really dark in here.' I thought and as I thought that Ghost popped out and said " The fallen thrive in the dark, we need more light." As Ghost floated off into the distance I looked around and saw a rifle leaning up against a crate that was on the other side of a shutter. Walking over I crouched down and dug my fingers under the shutter and lifted it with surprising ease. I also noticed that even though Ghost wasn't here I could see in the dark as if there was light in here. I vaguely heard Ghost in the background saying something, but I focused on the rifle and saw that the scope was cracked, but it wouldn't impede my aim at all.

As I was turning around I heard Ghost screaming from behind me " Run, Fallen are here!" Turning I saw a bunch of fallen and some type of drone flying after me. Slamming the shutter shut, I turned and ran down the hall. Turning the corner I saw a shadow splashed across the wall and disappeared growing smaller the further it got. Getting to the corner and getting ready to turn I felt a ringing in my head and as I turned the corner I looked up at where the ringing was coming from and saw a fallen drop from the ceiling.

THrowing a punch I hit the Fallen and sent it flying into the opposite wall and cratered it shaking the corridor I was in. Looking at my hand, I was shaken from my stupor by Ghost and after shaking it off I kept moving and came to a room filled with fallen. Firing my rifle I nailed a few of them in the head and a few in the chest dropping them like flies.

Clearing the room I advanced down a bridge and came to a chest and after opening it I saw a shotgun and a white pentagonal dodecahedron. Grabbing the shotgun I settled it across my back and when I was about to grab the white thing, Ghost popped out and said " Oh, a engram. These can contain anything from buildings to simple weapons. This looks like a simple one. I should be able to decode it fast." After he was finished the engram dissolved into motes of light and in its place was a helmet that looked to be in good condition.

Grabbing it I put it on and after that a display popped up and it showed how much ammo I had for my guns in the bottom left corner and a radar in the upper left corner. Looking at my ammo it looked like I had about 30 bullets for my rifle and 5 for the shotgun I just picked up. Looking at my weapons the rifle was called a Khvostov 7G-02 and the shotgun was called Copperhead Mk. 32. After seeing what weapons I had I advanced through the wall and came to a room that had a giant hole in it and what looked like a pipe jutting out from it.

Looking into the room I saw a few fallen milling about and saw that they had names above them now. The ones with the two stumps on the bottom were called dregs and the ones with both arms were called Vandals. Seeing that I decided to clear the room and after nailing a few headshots I ran out of ammo for the Khvostov I switched to the shotgun and used that ammo. After clearing the room I was looking through the room when I felt a powerful ringing so bad that I clutched my head in pain. Falling to the ground and leaning against a wall I turned to where the ringing was coming from. Emerging from the pipe was one of the biggest fallen I had seen in my short re-life.

Slowly getting up I looked it straight in the eyes and charged it and while it fired at me with what my Ghost was saying was a scorch cannon, I dodged most of them. I got singed with some of the splash from where it hit. Jumping at it I was midair, when I felt that buzz in my head again and before I could react It smacked me across the room into the wall leaving a small crater in it. Grabbing onto the wall I was about to jump at it again when I felt resistance from my fingers. Looking at them I saw that they were stuck to the wall. Pulling as hard as I could I broke them free but I had bits of concrete stuck to them. Flicking my fingers, a few of them came off at a decent speed and shattered against the wall.

Seeing that I looked at the fallen and flicked my fingers at it, while there was not a lot of visible damage I saw a piece hit it in the eye and watched it burst. Feeling like I had a chance now I ran

at it and acted like I was about to jump again and when it swung its arms to hit me I went low and punched it in the knee and not stopping to see the damage I did, I hit the other and caused it to let out a roar in pain. While it was roaring in pain I ran up to it and grabbed its bottom two arms and pulled them, dislocating them from the socket. After that I punched it in the head and when it reeled back in pain I grabbed it by the chestplate thing and pulled it back in and hit it again. After that punch its head caved in and released a light blue colored gas from the respirator connected to its mask.

Dropping it to the ground I looked around for any ammo and found some rounds for my rifle and shotgun, while I was looking I found a ghost laying in pieces with faint traces of light coming off of it. While I was looking at it, Ghost popped out of its hiding spot and looked at it also. "Hey Ghost. Think you can scavenge anything from it." I asked him and he was silent for a few more minutes and he finally replied with " Maybe? I mean I've heard of other ghosts finding dead ones in the wild, but I never thought that I would run into one here of all places. What was he even doing this far from the city.?" WHile he was talking I saw a few bands of light connecting him and the dead ghost and after a minute I heard what sounded like its last moments.

"Gotta get out of here. Have to let the city know what I found out here. About what the fallen have been doing this close to where the Iro-." After this the message got garbled, I waited for Ghost to see if he could clear it up a little bit, but when he turned around he shook his shell no.

Nodding, I picked up the remains and put them in a backpack that I found and went to the door that was the only way out of here beside where I came from. Entering the tunnel I saw massive fan blades that looked like they used to keep the air flow going so it wouldn't stink up the place. FInding a maintenance door blown open I made my way through and saw the sky again. WHile I was walking through, Ghost told me that this used to be an old cosmoport.

Looking off in the distance I saw massive ships with three circular sections on them. " What are those?" I asked Ghost and he told me that they were the remains of colony ships and that they used to take people to the various cities on Venus,Mars,Titan and all of the other cities in the system. Gazing at them in wonder I couldn't help but get distracted by the fact that humanity progressed that far. While I was distracted a bright light lit up the sky. After getting my vision under control I saw a giant ship exiting from it and just its entry caused a massive disturbance on the surface. When it passed by one of the colony ships, the ship tipped over and caused another quake. "A Ketch, this close to the surface!" Ghost said in alarm. After confirming with Ghost that that thing carried entire battalions of Fallen I started running after Ghost said that there was a signal from an old jumpship close by.

After making my way through the hordes of fallen in the open field and the facility I finally found the ship. There were about 10 dregs, 5 vandals and what my HUD was calling a Fallen Captain guarding the ship. Before I went in there Ghost told me that he had gathered enough Light to form a grenade. Grinning, he told me to focus on my left hand and imagine a grenade there and when I opened my eyes I saw a dodecahedron with lightning jumping off of it. 'So you can use Arc light, huh neat.' Tabling the explanation for when we were air born I hurled the grenade into the room and watched as it impacted the ground and when it did it broke. The pieces were surrounded by lighting and jumped to various enemies, killing 4 dregs and a vandal. One of the pieces did hit the Captain, but when it did something popped up and blocked it "A shield. Looks like it was damaged by the fragment from the grenade.' I thought. Running out I killed the remaining dregs and vandals, after that I turned to the Captain and saw that instead of a scorch cannon he had a sword that had lightning jumping along it.

Grinning, I ran at him and when I got there he swung his sword and after dodging it I grabbed the wrist holding it and twisted it causing him to gasp and drop it. Catching it with my other hand I swung it and sure enough it clashed with his shield, but it looked like the lightning did significant damage to the shield. After that the fight consisted of him swinging at me like a wild animal and me dodging. One interesting moment that happened during the fight was when I decided to experiment with coating my hand in Arc Light and punching the shield. What followed was the shield bursting and the Captain stumbling back shocked by the fact that for one) His shield was broken and he was vulnerable and two) That judging by my attire I was a newly rezzed person. WHile he was shocked I ran up and slashed the sword across his throat and watched as that strange gas floated away.

"Let me see if I can get the ship up and flying." Ghost said coming out of what I'm presuming is a pocket space for ghosts, so they aren't put in danger. He passed the fallen, not looking at their dead bodies and dissolved into motes of light. Next thing I know is that the ship's engine rumbled and eventually roared to life and the thrusters ignited burning whatever cobwebs were there and anything unfortunate enough to call them home. Hearing something coming from the walls I saw a massive fallen come out of the wall, even bigger than the one that I killed while in the wall. "ALright, time to go. You're not ready for that yet." Moving, I was dissolved into light as well and next thing I knew I was in the cockpit of the ship with Ghost piloting the ship.

Exiting the hanger I looked down at the Fallen that were swarming it and I could have sworn that I saw a figure standing on the roof looking up at me. Looking at Ghost I said "Alright, Ghost tell me what is going on and why I could command lightning as if I was born to use it." Ghost hearing my question just sighed and started talking.

Back with a new story set in the universe of Destiny with elements of Marvel sprinkled in. Petra is going to be taking the place of the Guardian from the games and it will somewhat follow the path of the game with more story in it then the original. Next time, we see her learn more about what happened to the world after the traveler arrived and the developments that arose from it. She also learns about how humanity got to where it is and how far they had fallen in the dark ages.
