With the death of Terra, J had to shape up and prepare a case to defend Jaden and try and find her a lawyer his brother trusts to help.

Looking for Answers

September 6. 9:07 AM, Detention Center, Visitor's Room

J sat on the chair of the Visitor's room a lone Scout Trooper stood guard to watch to make sure the inmates who had visiters weren't up to anything, there was also a camera as extra security. It all looked dreary and life stealing.

'Wow, they have poor Jaden locked up like a criminal.' J said feeling back for her mentor's sibling.

Soon Jaden came out and was shown to where to sit. The boy sits down and sees J and said sadly "Oh! It's you! The lawyer drone…Good…good morning."

"Good morning!" J said smiling happy he was okay at least but noted how he looks 'He looks so tired…'

"Um….Are you going to be my attorney?" Jaden asked her.

"Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about…" J said smiling and thinks 'First things first, I better get him cheered up…' She then said "Yeah, of course I will! Cheer up!"

"R-really…?" Jaden asked sadly a bit surprised at that

'Oh, corporate retreat! Did I say the wrong thing? He looks sadder now!' J thinks concerned and asked "Um…. what… what's wrong? You don't think I can do it?"

Jaden thinks and said sadly "No… no one could! Who would believe me?" He looks sadly at her "Even you, when you found me in the office. You looked at me like I had done it!"

'Did I really look at him like that?' J thinks as she recalls that moment and said "No, no! I never thought…"

"I-it's okay. I understand" Jaden told her and then gives a small smile saying "And… I've also heard about you."

"Heard…? Heard what about me?" J asked confused.

"I… was talking to my brother on the phone the other day…" Jaden explained happily.

Jaden then recounts the call with Terra, Terra on the phone said "Today was my junior partner's first time in court."

"Wow! Really? How'd that go?" Jaden asked him.

"It was quite the scene!" Terra admits chuckling. "If I'm honest, I was on edge the whole time. It's been a while…"

"Hah! So, I take it she crashed and burned?" Jaden asked laughing.

"…She's a genius." Terra said smiling. "One of those 'strike fear into the hearts of evil' types…The only thing she's lacking is…. experience."

"Huh, sound like it was a fun ride!" Jaden said nodding. "Well, I know who to go to if I ever get into trouble now!"

"I don't know about that Jaden." Terra admits and adds "I think you might want to wait... give her three more years. That is unless you want to be found guilty."

We return to the present as Jaden finishes up smiling and saying "That's what he said!" He then notices the stunned silence on J's face and said "Ah! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to insult you…"

"No, it's okay. It's true, I guess." J said mentally trying as her pride was shot. "But… at the same time, I can't just sit by and watch! When I think of the person who did this to Terra…" She clenches her fists

Jaden looks at her sadly and cries a bit saying "I know…"

J decided to change the subject and asked "There's something I've been wanting to ask you…"

"Yes?" Jaden asked smiling.

"What's with the gauntlets and other weird mystical looking things you have?" J asked confused. It did make the boy stand out.

"Oh, this?" Jaden asked pointing to his gauntlets and pendent. "This is what all Keyblader's wear. It's part of my armour, you could say."

"K-Keybladers? Like people in warrior training? What is it you do?" J asked surprised and confused.

"Oh! It's nothing strange, really!" Jaden said quickly "I'm a Keyblade Warrior…. In training."

"A K-Keyblade warrior?!" J said shocked and thinks 'I am pretty sure that qualifies as strange.' She then asked "Could you tell me about the day of the murder?"

"Yes!" Jaden said nodding and thinks "Let's see… That morning I got a call from my brother. He wanted me to hold onto a piece of evidence for an upcoming trial."

"Evidence?" J asked.

"Yes. That clock shaped like 'The Thinker'" Jaden said nodding.

'The one Joey made…' J thought sadly, that thing was just like it's creator unlucky to get into bad situations. "How could that have been evidence in a case?"

"Um, right, he said something about that…" Jaden said thinking "Oh I remember! Do you want to hear it in his own voice?"

"H-his own voice?!" J asked shocked

"Yes." Jaden said nodding "I'm pretty sure our conversation is on my cell phone."

"You recorded it!" J asked him.

"Yeah! To be honest I forgot how to delete those things." Jaden chuckled.

"So, you're saying you have a conversation with your brother on your cell phone?" J said smiling "Let's hear it!"

"Right!" Jaden said reaching into his pocket "Oh!" he looks down "I just remembered: that detective drone took my cell phone. Sorry."

"Oh, right." J said and thinks 'Of course…' She nods and said "Next time I see Detective N I'll ask him for it."

"I'll write you a note so you don't forget, okay?" Jaden said doing so.

"Sure, thank." J said smiling and takes Jaden's Memo and puts it into her pocket. "Could you tell me more about the day of the murder? Sorry… I know it must be hard."

"No, it's okay." Jaden said smiling "All I've been doing the last few hours is talking about it. I've kind of gotten used to it… Let's see… That morning I got a call from my brother. He wanted me to hold onto a piece of evidence for an upcoming trial."

'That's 'The Thinker' clock that Joey made. It practically qualifies as a serial murderer by now.' J thinks and asked "So then, when did you arrive at the office?"

"It was right around 9:00." Jaden said nodding. "The lights were off and… I could smell blood. Th-then I found him. My brother…" He looks down.

"Thanks Jaden. That's all I need to hear for now." J said softly "So you're a Keyblade Wielder. A, er, Keyblade Wielder-in-training."

"That's right." Jaden said nodding "The Yuki family, no matter the gender, have always been very sensitive to the spirit world due to how strong our hearts are."

"Wait a second, you said the 'Yuki Family'?" J said in surprise "So, Terra was into this stuff too?"

"Of course!" Jaden said smiling "He left the mountain to 'follow his career,' he said. His powers were first-class, too!"

'I… I had no idea' J thought in shock "Hmmm…Wait…!"

"What?" Jaden asked.

"So, you're a real, honest-to-goodness Keyblade wielder with connections to the spirit world? With E.S.P. and all that?" J asked him.

"Yes…. In training." Jaden said nodding.

"Well, can't you contact Terra's spirit, then?" J asked him. "We can just ask him who killed him!"

Jaden looked surprised then looks down sadly "I-I'm sorry…I'm still in training. I couldn't do something on that level…"

'Hmmmm… I think that would be too easy.' J thinks to herself

"Um…!" Jaden said getting J's attention

"Huh? Something wrong?" J asked him.

"Um… I was wondering could I ask you a favor?" Jaden asked and to J's confusion he pulls out a letter and hands it to her "This is the address of a famous lawyer. My brother gave me this a long time ago. He said if I was ever in trouble, I should call him. And, well, I'm in trouble. Do you think you could go ask him to represent me?"

J thinks and nods saying "Sure, why not? I'll go ask."

"Thank you so much!" Jaden asked smiling. "I have no one else to turn to…"

J looks confused and asked "Say, what about your parents?" Jaden looks down sadly and J got this was a sore subject said "I… I see. Don't worry, leave it to me."

"Thank you!" Jaden said sadly "The trial's tomorrow… at 10:00."

"W-what?! Tomorrow?!" J asked in shock

"Tomorrow." Jaden said nodding.

"What if this guy refuses?!" J asked.

"They told me that if I don't find one, the state will pick an attorney to defend me." Jaden said with a smile.

"When will that happen?" J asked him.

"They're giving me until 4:00 this afternoon." Jaden told her.

'And visiting hours are almost up… I'd better hurry!' J thought checking her internal clock "Right, I'll be back!"

J then begins to leave and checks the address it was for Ansem Law Office, so the lawyer was Ansem the Wise a well known name in the attorney world. She exit the Detention centre and heads there.

September 6, Ansem Law Offices

J walks into the office and it was quite fancy, there was even a large painting in the room but other then that, no one in the office.

'According to the receptionist, the big boss is 'out'.' J thinks looking around 'She couldn't say when he'd be back. It must be hard to keep track of everything when you're a famous lawyer…Not to mention run an office like this. I guess I'll come back later.'

J decides to head back to Terra's office to see if N is there and ask about the cell phone.

September 6, Yuki & Co. Law Offices

J walks in and looks around seeing many Police troopers looking around 'The office is filled with police troopers. They're all busily searching for clues…'

"Hey! Excuse me! You there!" A voice called out and J sees n approach her "Don't mean to be rude but this is a crime scene! You can't trespass! Hang on….I am so sorry but don't I know you somewhere? Aren't you that Wheeler guy?"

"No, no, I'm Serial Designation J." J said shaking her head 'How can anyone mistake me for Joey?! I'm not even human or male!'

"Oh, guess I got the wrong name, Miss J. So sorry." N said chuckling "After all that Wheeler guy was a killer! And you're no killer! Right?"

'He WAS proven innocent…' J thinks annoyed how dumb was this drone. "Uhh…right. And you were…N, wasn't it? Right?"

"Right! At your service." N said saluting smiling. "Oh but it's actually Detective N so you know! So, get the name right please. I'll do my best to remember your name."

"Hey, N! Get over here!" One of the Scout Troopers said rudely.

"Y-yes, sir!" N said flinching a bit "B-be right there!" He then awkwardly rub his head and looks at J "So I'm assuming you're his lawyer, right? If you got business here, you'd better do it quick!"

'Phew! He thinks I'm Jaden's lawyer…!' J thinks sighing she can use that to get info ready for Ansem to save him time. She asked "About Mr. Yuki… did you do an autopsy?"

"Hmmm? You want to know the result I guess?" N asked smiling and sees the deadpan look from J "Oh don't look at me like that buddy! It's no use! He might have been your boss, but that doesn't mean you get any special treatment. Okay, okay. You can see the report, but that's all!"

N uploads a copy of the Autopsy Report to J and she checks it in the Court Record and sees the time of death was a 9:00 PM and the cause of death was blunt force trauma and death was instantaneous. J nods to that through surprised N convinced himself to share this.

"So, Terra's death was instantaneous." J asked him curious.

"That's right, buddy." N said nodding and gets sad as he said "He was… a great person."

"Wait, you knew him, Detective?" J asked surprised.

"Sure. All of us down at the precinct knew Mr. Yuki." N said nodding sadly "Much as it pains me to say this, he was a darn good lawyer. E-excuse me, I got some dust in my visual sensors" he said showing crying emotes on his LED eyes.

J nods understanding and began to say "So, um, about Jaden…"

"Yeah! I'm looking forward to the trial!" N said excited "I am so sorry pal but this is one trial you aren't going to win!"

"W-why did you say that?" J asked concerned.

"The city's put Prosecutor Hunter on the prosecution!" N told her.

'Hunter…' J said her LED eyes widen, that was a name she knows well.

"I'm sure you know what that means, you being a lawyer and all." N explained smiling

"Prosecutor Hunter…" J said thinking.

"That's right buddy! The Golden Guard Mr. Hunter Himself!" N said happily "Hang on…you do know him, right?"

J did know him but she decided to see what N knows about him and said "No…never heard of him."

"Whoa! And you call yourself a lawyer?" N said surprised "Well, about four years ago, this Hunter guy became a prosecutor at age of 20! Everyone says he's a genous and done a golden outfit and mask with a white cloak that earned him the Golden Guard Prosecutor title. I'm surprised you don't know him!"

'Of course I know him… I was just playing dumb.' J thinks looking firm 'He's cold, heartless machine who'll do anything to get a 'guilty' verdict! There are rumours of back-alley deals and forged evidence…All I really know for sure is that Hunter hates crime with an almost abnormal passion. I never imagined I'd be facing him so soon…'

J then remembers why she came here and pulls out Jaden's Memo and asked N "I was wondering…did you see Jaden Yuki's cell phone?"

"Oh that? I have that" N said pulling out a red and white cell phone with a Slifer themed to it and the wriststrap.

"Do you think you could give it back?" J asked him.

"Sure!" N said going to hand it but stops "Wait, hang on a sec! Tricky lawyer!"

'Oh no, he's on to me!' J thinks and decides to try and throw him off thinking 'Okay, I can't be straight with this drone… but what should I tell him?'

"Something wrong?" N asked her

"Oh no, um…" J thinks and sees the strap "T-that carrying strap on the cell phone…"

"This?" N said looking at it "Hmmm… it says 'The White Ranger: Warriro of Neo Angel Grove'…'The White Ranger'… that action hero on TV?"

"Yeah, you see that strap is a collector's item…He… was worried it might get lost if it went down to the precinct." J said going with this lie

"That what he said?" N asked thinking

"Um. Yes." J said sweatdroping on her LED screen.

N gives a curious look at J and shrugs saying "Okay buddy. I wrote down all the numbers he called anyway. Here you go." He hands her the cell phone.

'Seems he didn't notice the recorded conversation…' J thinks as she took it and logs it into her Court Record for the recorded conversation. 'Anyway, I guess I've asked all the questions I need to.'

"Oh you all done buddy?" N asked J.

"Um, yes, thank you. I'll be heading out now." J said to him nodding and goes to leave.

"Oh, hang on." N said stopping her "One more thing I have to mention to you. I don't suppose you're planning on talking to that witness. Anyway, you'd better not! Please don't influence the witness with your lawyerly ways!"

J stops wide eyed at that and thinks as she recalls the blond haired girl in the hotel 'Come to think of it, I had completely forgotten about her…' She then said to N "The… witness?"

"Yeah, Miss Kitten Walker." N said nodding "I'm sorry about this…. But I can't tell you anything about her!"

'Well, you just told me her name. Miss Walker, huh?' J thinks and asked "So you've sent her home already, then?"

"Haha! You're trying your lawyerly tricks on me now!" N said chuckling "She's not to go outside her room until the trial!"

'So… she's still in the hotel across the way.' J thinks looking at the Tipton across the street. She smiles and said "I guess I should know better than to try to get a detective to leak information."

"Yeah, you got that right!" N said proudly

J nods and turns to leave and thinks smiling 'Time to pay a visit to Miss Walker!' She begins to head out and across the street to the hotel.

Well J seems to have got some info on the upcoming trial but still no sign of the lawyer Anserm but she still has time to investigate more

Jack Hammer: ? (The victim of the case. A former famous action star, after an accidental death of a co-star he was blackmailed to play roles for peanuts, the decline of his reputation and hatred to his producer he plotted revenge which ironically led to his own death.)

Penny Nichols: ? (A part time assistant at Global Studios in charge of props. She is obsessed with the Steal Samurai show and even collects the trading cards. Despite this she is the most normal person Phoenix meets)

Wendy Oldbag: ? (Fans of Ace Attorney know this character well. She is a security guard for various jobs and is a stereotypical cranky old lady. She is prone to ramble on and on when given the opportunity, lecturing others about their behavior and comparing their actions to the "good old days". She is also very stubborn, especially with those she views as "young whippersnappers", and reacts badly to anyone bad-mouthing her crushes. She has not kept track of her age since her 20s, so even she doesn't know her real age.)

Dee Vasquez: ? (The high-rank producer of Global Studios. generally very calm (to the point of appearing bored of everything around her) and rarely got angry, even when she was indicted for Hammer's murder. She treated Manella like dirt, but the latter didn't seem to mind. Although she did have a brief lapse in her composure when Wright began to get the better of her, she returned to her usual self when finally beaten and accepted her defeat calmly, being one of the few culprits Wright encountered to accept defeat graciously.)
