Saitama yawned, stretched and chuckled at Mitsumi's tickling fingers up his chest. They were all impressed with the game and how it ended, but Saitama was grumbling a bit that the dream didn't continue again. At how he pouted about it, Mitsumi chuckled and said, "Don't worry, dear. Sometimes it's best to not get something right away. Give it time."
"That's crap. And you know it," he grunted to get her laughing at him.
"Maybe you'll feel better after a hot shower?" she mused. He ran a finger through an ultra-long lock of her black hair and sighed.
"You'll have to put your hair away," he frowned.
"Well, it really didn't bother me too much," she admitted. "But, yes, while we go out I have to. It will get in the way far too much for me. However, if we're careful, I'll leave it fully down for you while we sleep."
"You will?!" he asked with surprised delight. He sat up with her pulled close to kiss her ravenously.
"As long as it won't hurt me," she smiled and let him kiss her again.
"My wonderful, amazing wife," he whispered. "Nothing will ever touch you this way. Only me. No one will ever touch me like this unless it's you."
"I'm glad," she smiled and hugged him tight.
"I take you as my wife," he muttered in her ear.
"I accept you as my husband," she murmured back and shouted when he claimed her. It was ten minutes later that he was able to move with her to the shower to help her scrub her hair out. Even while in the heated water, he still held her close. At the sound of a door knocking, the monster pets looked at each other. Cold Snap was still with Fumio at the tree house. Bright Bolt snickered and shifted into his human form. He waved a hand at Black Sperm's clones to let them back away before answering the door to see who it was.
"Hello? Can I help you?" Bright Bolt asked in his care free tone and ran a hand through his long locks of pale yellow hair. It seemed to zap with static between his slight antlers and completely unfazed him.
"Ah…oh…" the female employee blinked at him. He blinked his glowing, electric blue eyes at her and crossed his arms over his chest. He towered over her at ten feet tall, but he only studied her.
"If you're looking for the occupants of this room, they are taking a shower. That means they're waking up. I can take a message for them. And before you ask who I am, I am usually their pet horse. The one that likes to zap," he grinned a bit ruefully. "We all have human forms. I decided to become this to help answer the door. So…what's up?"
"Ah…right…um…we were hoping they could investigate a strange disturbance in City E. If it was possible," she said.
"They have a lot to do today. Stuff that cannot be avoided. Hmm. Ah. Tatsumaki will assist. She will call your bosses now," he nodded after reaching out to Rendor. "If she feels it's needed, I will see if Saitama and Mitsumi can help. But she just said she can take care of whatever it is easily."
"Oh! Ah…okay!" she blinked and he watched her head off before closing the door. He sat down and accepted a bowl of fruit from one Black Sperm's clones. Then the door got knocked on again five minutes later. He growled lightly before getting up to open it to find a lesser hero there.
"Yes? If you're looking for Saitama and Mitsumi, they're busy," Bright Bolt grunted. "I'm playing door guard for now. What is it?"
"I came here to clean this area out of monsters!" the brash, lesser C class hero said. "You all shouldn't be here!"
"Is that so?" Bright Bolt frowned. He flicked his tufted tail from where it came out of the back of his velvety white pants that made up his hide. He crossed his arms over his opened shirt again of the same texture and color. "Even if I'm a GOD monster of lightning? And usually their pet and don't attack?"
"It doesn't matter! I'll still take you out!" the hero growled. Then he blinked when his loose white shirt and grey pants got filled with intense static cling. At the harsh zapping sound from it, he cringed and fumed. "What the hell…?! Ouch! What's going on?!"
"I'm not sure. A little static is getting you off guard?" Bright Bolt asked with a sense of casual confusion and heard the other pets snickering with intense amusement. "I thought you were tougher than this…"
More zaps from the static was heard and the lesser hero had to run off quickly. It would only cause more issues, as Bright Bolt would ensure the static would jump to others around him. Musing that it would last for a good twenty minutes, he decided to put a mild static barrier around the door to lightly zap anyone that got too close that wasn't there for business. That had him grinning with complete mirth and delight.
"What's going on?" Saitama asked from where he now stood in the main room with Mitsumi. They were fully dressed, but she had her hair looped up to get worked on later. She had a light bit of makeup from her carry purse to show she was ready to go out and face the world. Her fans were peacefully set on their belt liners to show they were also ready for travel.
"An employee showed up asking you to investigate City E. Tatsumaki said she'd handle it after I asked Rendor to peek at things. Then a lower guy on the ranking pole showed up and wanted to take me out. So…I gave over a bit of static cling. He ran off after that," Bright Bolt chuckled and accepted a tight hug by Mitsumi. She clearly missed seeing them like this as her brothers.
"Ugh…" Saitama grimaced.
"At least it was only static," Mitsumi nodded.
"And I decided to let the static move to attach to anyone around him," Bright Bolt snickered. That got Saitama looking at him with surprise.
"I want you to do that to everyone around us that gets in the way while we leave," Saitama said with a nod. Bright Bolt made a fist bump of excitement to show it would be done. "Doggy! My other pets! Let's go!"
"He can't have all the fun," Stable Rock said when he walked out in his human form. He held his staff of solid, molten gold and gems easily before giving a glowing, amber-eyed wink. He accepted a hug from Mitsumi and gave a brotherly kiss to her forehead.
"Oh! You're going human, too?" Bright Bolt grinned wickedly.
"I suppose I should do the same. For now," Blue Ripple said when he appeared in his overly muscled form and got a hug from her next. Then they looked over to see Tangled Vine walking out in a stooped way over a long cane covered in lush leaves. He looked much like a forest hermit with a long, bright orange beard down to his feet and weathered, brown, bark-like skin. The top of his head had green hair that nearly resembled the emerald green of moss. Even his clothes looked like he was wearing tree bark, and the collar of his leaf-like cloak had two large, spindly branches coming off of them.
"Tangled Vine!" Mitsumi gasped and moved to hug him.
"Hello, my dear sister," he wheezed out in an elderly way. Even though it sounded stronger, it still had an older tone to it. He nodded to Saitama and shook his hand. Then he turned his glowing, green-eyed gaze to the others to show he was ready to cause confusion, too.
"You three stay here," Saitama said to Black Sperm's clones. They all saluted and settled down to relax. He scooped up his monster dog and nodded to the others with him. They all moved out of the room, the door was locked up, and they proceed to the elevators.
"Hey! What are monsters doing in here?!" a lower A class hero growled. He appeared to be another martial arts body builder type, but none of them were impressed at all.
"They are my family. My older brothers," Mitsumi said softly. "Please don't do anything rash. They've done no wrong at all, and they are part of the Heroic Monster Association. They also work with me at Neutral Grounds, and they repair damaged cities. And, if you still insist on doing wrong, then I will have the board members contacted to speak with you directly."
"You can't do anything!" the hero scoffed. Then he paused at Saitama's glare of rage. His pupils started to glow like dull coals to show he was getting pissed. When the man didn't move out of the way, Saitama stood up straight.
"Darling?" she asked him. He set down Overgrown Rover to trot with them.
"I'm going to slap him. With my glove," Saitama said without removing his glare from the man. The monsters around him hid their faces to lightly cringe.
"Hah! You can't do shit-!" the hero started before finding a red glove slapped across his face. He got thrown back to the end of the hallway and slammed into the wall. Now that he was in an unconscious heap, Saitama nodded and replaced his glove.
"Much safer than outright slapping him. Glad I dreamt about that!" he grinned and scooped up Mitsumi to carry her. She laughed softly and found herself holding Overgrown Rover's tiny form. It did jump down from her to leave a gas bomb on the faulty hero to let it linger around him for a good ten minutes if he woke up to smell it. That got Saitama grinning with complete approval.
"First floor?" she asked. Stable Rock pushed the button and moved to stand behind them with the others. She got set down on her feet next to Saitama, and Overgrown Rover was set down to sit behind them. At the sight of the elevator opening on the 20th floor to let in Super Alloy Darkshine, he paused at the sight of them all.
"Oh. Hey. We were leaving," Saitama said. "These are my pets in human form. Other than my dog."
"Oh! Yeah, I was heading to the first floor, too," he said and stepped in. He glanced over at Blue Ripple and was quick to start flexing.
"Okay…?" Blue Ripple grunted with a bit of disgust. "I am not interested in your body. I just want to leave this building with them."
"My guns are amazing! And I bet they're larger than yours!" Super Alloy smirked. Then he paused when Blue Ripple stood up tall and bunched up his arms to flex his arms out. They were clearly three times larger than the S class hero's.
"As a GOD monster over water, my monster form is intense. My body is compacted into this form with no issues. I have no need to do your exercise routines or prove my show of strength. I find it a waste of time and energy," Blue Ripple grunted and sighed as he settled back down.
"We may not look like much, but remember what we truly are," Tangled Vine said cautiously. "We are all on the same side, too, now. Remember that."
"Even though we shouldn't be," Stable Rock muttered under his breath and chuckled at Mitsumi's hug. "I know, little sister. I am well."
"Do I need to slap you with my glove?" Saitama asked him with a blank stare. When Mitsumi turned to growl at him, he put his hands up. Stable Rock grimaced and hid behind her.
"Eh…" Stable Rock winced.
"Don't. You. Dare. You know better," Mitsumi said and put her hands on her hips while regarding her husband. "He was just reinstating what he said before. He's my older brother. He's your pet in his true form. Lay off."
"I know that, dear," Saitama said and moved next to her to rest a hand on her belly. "I know. A hundred percent. I also see him as family. I'm well aware."
"Apologize to him, please," Mitsumi said softly.
"I'm sorry," Saitama said to Stable Rock.
"Accepted," the earth monster chuckled and shook his head.
"Not often do we see the oldest of us cringe," Tangled Vine chuckled and rested on his staff. "But we all fear you, Saitama. You obliterated all of our confining elements at the spa resort with that monster. Even with Mitsumi's fans enhancing you in full. It does make me wonder how it would be with all of our fans together. You had Wind Crane and Blue Ripple to enhance you. I am curious about the rest of ours joining forces now."
"That's scary," Bright Bolt said. "Very scary to think about. And you know we have to try it!"
"Huh?" Super Alloy asked.
"You'll find out later. Maybe," Saitama said.
"I'm curious what my fans will look like," Bright Bolt grinned.
"Are you okay, Stable Rock?" Mitsumi frowned. She noticed he still looked a bit tense on what happened.
"I think I am happier being his pet," Stable Rock admitted.
"No, no, it's fine," Saitama said to reassure him. "I was in the wrong. I'll own up to it. But this mood isn't gonna improve any moral."
"Well, monsters will be monsters," Super Alloy started before pausing. Then he put his hands to his nose to swear violently. Overgrow Rover tilted its head at him innocently and rolled out its tongue.
"Very good, doggy," Saitama muttered out with a small grin.
"Aww! Did my poor, sweet puppy have tummy troubles? You poor thing!" Mitsumi crooned out and scooped up Overgrown Rover to snuggle. The monster pets in their human forms were completely immune on being claimed as family. That had them all snickering and giggling softly. The monster dog whined and waved a back leg to get more snuggles. At the next audible sound from it, the S class hero was ready to smash down a wall to get out.
Super Alloy Darkshine bolted out of the elevator the moment the doors opened. Saitama led the others out calmly and grinned at the shouts of disgust heard from other heroes that walked in to use the elevators. Overgrown Rover let out a loud sigh of contentment. As the group made their way out, a male employee of the association was quick to stop them.
"We need you in the board room!" he said quickly.
"Eh…why?" Saitama asked.
"Because of the ones with you. We need to know about them. We also have a small request," he said. Blue Ripple rose a brow at him and blinked his pure white eyes.
"We are normally their pets. We just decided to shift human for a while," Blue Ripple explained. "It's a rare thing we do, but we decided to do it for now."
"Oh!" the man blinked. Stable Rock narrowed his glowing amber eyes and studied the man before them. Then he placed his staff in front of himself and focused lightly for the ground to tremble around them. He kept both of his massive hands grasped around the golden staff to increase his focus. After the trembling stopped, he pulled up his staff and nodded lightly.
"I learned what was to be asked. It's done. You now have an extensive network of tunnels underground to each main city. I am informing Metal Knight of where to place a beacon for building construction for a small 'lookout' tower in each city for the Hero Association. You're welcome," Stable Rock chuckled. Every hero around them now paused and stared at the group in shock.
"Thank you so much!" Mitsumi beamed and hugged him.
"What about us…?" Saitama muttered lightly.
"Separate tunnels that cannot be detected," Stable Rock chuckled at him. "This is also informed to Metal Knight to know where to keep those plans apart. I had already set that up, but I ensured neither tunnel systems can intersect."
"Good," Saitama nodded and found himself lost in thought. Then he looked at the employee. "Are we done? We need to go."
"Yes. I'll inform the board of what was done, and we'll start to utilize what was created. Thank you!" the employee said and ran off.
"Is there anything you can't do?" a C class hero asked.
"That's like asking how many people have you helped today," Bright Bolt snorted. "We specialize in our elements. Rarely do we ever team up like this. In fact, this is the very first time that I can ever remember. But Mitsumi is our baby sister. She's not a monster, but we see her as family. She is the one that ties us all together. If not for her, you wouldn't even know we existed. Be thankful for her. We are working with all of you because of her."
"He's right," Saitama nodded.
"I knew I'd find you again!" Fight Foot shouted when he ran over to confront them. Mitsumi frowned and narrowed her eyes.
"If you don't get out of the way, I will slap you with my glove," Saitama warned. Bright Bolt crossed his arms over his chest again, looked away, and filled the hero's suit with intense static cling all over again.
"HEY!" Fighting Foot shrieked and tried to shake the cling off of himself. He swore heavily at the intense zapping he got now.
"You should be glad that this is the most I will do. I can easily make a lightning bolt go through this building, short circuit all of the equipment and have it use you as the grounding rod," Bright Bolt said with a small glare of his glowing electric blue eyes. "I promised my baby sister that I would behave."
"And I thank you for that," Mitsumi said with a warm smile. He chuckled and let her hug him with appreciation. Overgrown Rover huffed and nuzzled into Mitsumi happily while still being held by her. Saitama cut his glare at the other heroes in front of him. That finally made a clear path for them to leave. As they started to leave, Mitsumi said, "Stable Rock, I wanted to ask you something."
"Of course," he nodded and looked around them when they got outside. "Ah, is it personal? We do have quite a few around us."
"Oh. We do," she frowned. Stable Rock thought and was quick to use the earth to take them to a different part of City A that had less of a crowd around them. Now he looked at Mitsumi to nod that it was safe to talk. Bright Bolt did set up a small, electric shielding, though. Just to ensure none would try to interfere.
"Zenchu has intense properties with shadow. And he's as tall as all of you. I know he took a potion to become a monster, but…I think there's something more to him, too. He almost resembles Bright Bolt as a human, if you think about it. I know some look different, but this is…almost like a twin! Do you know what it could be?" she asked. Saitama looked at her with a bit of surprise.
"That's a really good question…" Stable Rock blinked with amusement. "If he can give something a gift of touch with shadow…"
"That would prove he became a GOD monster?" Tangled Vine mused.
"It would explain why he's attracted to Wind Crane," Blue Ripple grinned.
"But for a human to do this to themselves and actually become one of us…" Stable Rock said while deep in thought. "He said he burned the book that held the potion he made, right?"
"He did," Mitsumi nodded.
"And he scattered the ashes. Wind Crane just told me," Blue Ripple frowned. "But…Starlight may be able to help him dream up the event to see the book in his memories…"
"Ah! And we can see the crappy potion he made?!" Saitama asked.
"Yes. Inichi is also strong, but he is of a different offset. There are plenty of extremely strong monsters out there, but Zenchu…you may be right, Mitsumi. There's something more to that one," Stable Rock mused aloud.
"He was the first one I woke up in the flower field. He found me there," Mitsumi smiled. "I'm sure the sight of the flower alone wouldn't do anything. But there in the field? With the scent?"
"It smashed down his monster mind like nothing," Blue Ripple nodded.
"And it may explain his fondness for Wind Crane as she was the cause for making those flowers," Tangled Vine agreed.
"I can vouch that it did that to me, too. The scent of the flowers that were on the fans. The scent…I felt shame. Then acceptance," Bright Bolt said and looked up at the sky while deep in thought. "We'll have to talk to him."
"Hmm…" Stable Rock thought again and got their attention with a small wave of his hand. "I think I know what changed him."
"Oh?!" Mitsumi blinked at him.
"There was a shadow one of us. That one was…gone. For a long time," Stable Rock blinked his glowing amber eyes and thought back to what he knew. "Shadows don't really have bodies. They need vessels. Much like Rendor's internal spirit now. Zenchu had to make a concoction that would change his body to become a vessel for a GOD monster to inhabit.
"I'm sure he never knew what sort of monster he was going to become. Much less prepare himself for. He found the book that held this information. Someone wrote it out to be eventually found. He wanted none to become what he did out of jealousy and spite in his monster mindset, so he destroyed it to ensure none could copy what he did the moment he woke up in his new state. The components used had to be intense, but he found them and made the drink. And he took it to allow himself to change willingly knowing full well what it was going to do to him. That's what did it."
"What?!" Saitama gaped. They looked over to see Zenchu arrive from Wind Crane's teleport, and he quickly strode over.
"I don't remember anything," Zenchu admitted. "Hell, I don't even remember what I read or how I did it. But…you think a GOD monster is living inside me?! I mean…that would be…really fucked up."
"Can I slap it out of you?" Saitama asked with a neutral gaze.
"Fuck you," Zenchu said to get them all snickering.
"But it would explain a lot," Mitsumi said. "Um…"
"What?" Zenchu asked and smiled at her hug. He hugged her back and sighed. "What's on your mind, little sis?"
"I don't think I can make a fan set out of your teeth," she smiled.
"Well…" Zenchu seemed to shrug.
"You might have some type of an animal form. We'll have to try later. We have a few things we need to do today," Tangled Vine said knowingly.
"To think my big brother was a type of GOD monster and I never knew," Mitsumi chuckled. "But we did suspect."
"Yeah, we sort of did," Zenchu nodded. "Wind Crane did tell me what you think Starlight can do. My only worry is if we find out what I did. If it can be replicated. I don't want that. I sort of…well…not out of jealousy anymore. But safety. I don't want it to be abused."
"No one said it has to done again. I just want to know how you did it. The one of shadow was incredibly cunning. Knew what to expect. I don't know if that one was as old as myself, too. But there is one thing I do realize. You have no memories. None. Nothing of what happened when it happened. Only that you changed and that you used a book to make a potion from it. I would chance trying to draw out what is in you, but it may also be risky. Mitsumi will need to help with the flower," Stable Rock frowned. "It may revert you back into a monster mindset. I am honestly unsure."
"Eh…" Zenchu sighed and scratched at the back of his head. "Do we have to? I mean…"
"It can wait," Mitsumi said softly. "We can attempt this later tonight in a safer place, okay?"
"But…date night…?!" Saitama looked at her and pouted.
"I never said it couldn't happen after or even before, okay? We can still have our date night," Mitsumi winked. "Now we need to get going. Zenchu, did you want to come with us? Or go back?"
"I need to help Wind Crane. Those eggs are likely hatching tomorrow, but it could also be today. It's pretty close in time," Zenchu chuckled.
"Good. Don't screw up," Saitama nodded. Zenchu flipped him off and got pulled away by Wind Crane.
"Really, Saitama?! Don't screw up? Seriously? Ugh…" Mitsumi sighed.
"What? Would he expect anything less of me?" he grinned and was quick to sweep her off her feet to hear her squeal.
"There is one thing that I do worry about, though," Stable Rock said and looked at Saitama. "I have absolutely no idea what resides inside you. We can give you gifts just like a human. Everything that a human needs to survive…you have. But you have the power of a GOD breaker."
"A GOD breaker?!" Mitsumi blinked.
"What…is…?!" Bright Bolt looked at Stable Rock with shock.
"First time I've heard of this term," Blue Ripple grunted.
"The same for myself," Tangled Vine frowned.
"I…may have witnessed something…two thousand years ago. Of a similar incident," Stable Rock admitted. "It's difficult to speak of."
"I need to know more about this," Saitama said.
"I know. It's hard to explain. And this area is starting to gain an audience. But…think about it. What Saitama can do. How he can go through our own defenses. Virtually any monster cannot stand in his way. But I tremble in fear at the thought of something happening to you, little sister. You are his life partner. His mate. You carry growing offspring within you now from him. If one thing happens to you…" Stable Rock started and already saw Saitama's form shiver with rage. "Right there. This is the proof I speak of."
"Nothing will touch her!" Saitama spat out protectively.
"But if it does, you will lose control. We can't have that," Stable Rock said seriously. "It's why we are protecting her with you. And if she dies before you...even of natural causes…"
"I do have an idea. A small one," Bright Bolt said. Saitama looked at him and nodded. "There may be a time that the world will need you both again. Your offspring may call on you for help if they get too weak in the line. We do…have a very rare gift that we can give. Infinite youth and life. Stable Rock touched on this briefly, and I've been thinking about it ever since."
"Such a thing could change them into monsters," Blue Ripple muttered.
"Not if done properly," Bright Bolt said with a small smile.
"You…think we could…?" Tangled Vine wheezed out.
"Later. I'll give you all my idea," Bright Bolt nodded.
"I'll need to know this, too," Stable Rock grunted. "I know what you talk of. I have yet to see it actually work without complications."
"I know that Fire Flight would readily agree," Blue Ripple sighed.
"And Wind Crane," Tangled Vine nodded.
"You know it would have to be a group effort to pull it off without doing any major changes. It can be done…just…carefully," Bright Bolt frowned.
"You would make us immortal?" Mitsumi asked softly.
"If it would keep Saitama safe with you…we'll discuss it later," Bright Bolt muttered. "Cold Snap even said to go for it. So he's in."
"We'll all talk when we get home," Stable Rock agreed.
"I don't know how old our sweet puppy is," Mitsumi said and cuddled Overgrown Rover. It whined and licked her cheek to snuggle her back. "Would you always be with us, puppy?"
It tilted its head at her cutely and blinked all six eyes before huffing and licking her face constantly to get her laughing.
"Okay. The new home on the hill?" Saitama asked. The group nodded, and Stable Rock was quick to take them there.
