Chapter 8: Rating Game
Sunlight floods into the room, waking the sleeping couple.
They got up and got ready.
Once they were, Colton cooked breakfast for everyone.
After eating, they all finished getting ready and gathered together.
"Is everyone ready?" Rias asked.
Everyone nodded.
Rias then teleported Everyone to the ORC building.
Once they got there, they were greeted by Grayfia.
"Gather around." She commanded.
Everyone complied.
Grayfia then teleported all of them.
When they were done teleporting, Issei was confused.
"Why didn't we move? We're still in the ORC building."
"We are, but at the same time, we aren't." Colton said.
"I'm confused." Issei responded.
"We're in a sub space. Basically think of this as an imitation of the real thing." Colton explained.
"Interesting that you already know that, despite only just getting here." Grayfia stated.
"... I could sense that this place is full of dimensional magic." Colton said.
Grayfia raised an eyebrow before deciding to focus.
"You have half an hour to strategize."
Grayfia then teleported away.
The group got to planning. It was decided that Colton and Asia would stay back with Rias.
Colton was to stay back, as a hidden ace.
Once strategizing was over, they prepared their surroundings.
Having their familiars, except Uria, scout around, and potentially spread traps.
"The Rating Game has began." They all hear Grayfia's voice.
Issei, Koneko and Kiba all ran out, with Akeno soon following.
Using magic, Colton, Asia and Rias were able to see what was going on.
They saw how Koneko was fighting against one of Riser's rooks, while Issei was fighting 3 pawns.
Koneko eventually finished the rook, and Issei decided to use one move to defeat the pawns.
Issei charged forward and dashed past all three of them, touching them as he ran by.
He then snapped his fingers for... their clothes to disintegrate.
Colton looked at that, dumbfounded.
"...I'm going to kill him after this. Now I know why he had that face when I last used the Clothes Beam on him. He made a spell that does the complete opposite of the Clothes Beam."
"Three of Riser's pawns and one of Riser's rooks: retired." They hear Grayfia say.
They continued watching and saw how Koneko got surprise attacked by Riser's queen. Colton clenched his fist.
"Rias' rook: retired." Grayfia declared.
"It's time we move." Rias declared.
Rias, Colton and Asia all exited the building, they used their wings to fly up to the gymnasium's roof, where Riser was waiting.
"Rias' knight: retired." They hear Grayfia state.
'Damn. We're dropping like flies.'
Soon the three of them reach the gym's roof.
"How lovely it is for you to be here, my dear." Riser said.
"I'm going to end this, now." Rias declared.
She then began to fire blast after blast of her Power of Destruction.
Each attack hit and dealt damage, but unfortunately Riser healed all the damage.
Rias continued to attack until she was starting to become tired.
"One of Rias' queens: retired." Grayfia announced.
Issei arrived and prepared to fight Riser, when he began to laugh.
"Riser won't have to lift a finger. Riser's peerage can do that for him."
As if on cue, every member of Riser's peerage, with the exception of the three Issei disintegrated the clothes of, appeared on the roof.
"That's impossible! Most of them were taken out!" Issei exclaimed.
Riser then pulled out a vile. "Thanks to the Phenex family's precious Phoenix Tears, Riser's peerage can fight forever."
Colton then stepped up. "I'm going to handle the rest."
"You sure?" Issei asked.
Colton gave him a nod.
Colton then charged forward.
"Take him down! All of you!" Riser commanded.
Riser's peerage all charged at Colton, ready to attack.
Ravel stayed behind, looking like she was going to provide support, which in reality, she was actually not wanting to fight him at all, since he is her friend.
Colton started fighting them, which turned out to be a mistake. He could handle each of them, one on one, but all together, he was getting overwhelmed.
He got hit multiple times, not allowing him to focus enough to cast a spell.
Eventually, while getting overwhelmed, but still staying strong, he was hit by a blast of fire in the chest. Riser fired the attack.
As Colton was hit he had one thought. 'I don't care anymore.'
Colton took the attack and was still standing. "That's enough." He said with his head down.
"What's that? Riser can't hear you." Riser taunted.
"I said. THAT'S ENOUGH!" Colton shouts.
A black and red aura bursts out of Colton, pushing everyone back.
Colton lifts his head and shows that his eyes have changed. His sclera was black instead of white and his irises were blood red.
Colton was radiating power like never before.
There was a mixed reaction of those who were present.
Most of them were shocked, including Riser, Rias, Asia and Issei.
A few were scared at the amount of power.
For one Ravel Phenex, she was in awe.
Colton turned his attention to Riser's peerage. "Sorry but your out of the game." He said in a slightly demonic voice.
He snapped his fingers and all of a sudden, Riser's peerage fall unconscious.
"What did you do!?" Riser demands.
"A sleeping spell." Colton answered.
Colton waved his hands and the unconscious girls all teleport away.
Colton then walked towards Riser.
"No one to hide behind." He stated.
Riser then fired an attack at Colton.
Before the attack hit, red static appeared.
The static was there for a split second, once it cleared, two Colton's were there instead of one.
Shocked, Riser began to fire more attacks, with the same result each time. Red static appears and two Colton's replace the target.
Now there was 16 of him.
"This should be enough." The true Colton said in the crowd.
They all charge.
They punch, kick, and magic blast Riser, overwhelming him.
The clones disappear. The real Colton walks up while summoning a scythe.
He swings the scythe hitting Riser and sending him back. The wound was healing slower than the previous.
Colton was waking forward when he suddenly stopped.
Colton held his head in pain, screaming.
Colton's fingers began to bleed from the tips as they begin to sharpen, and blood leaks from his eyes.
He looks up, with a crazed smile on his face. He then laughed.
The laugh sounded truly demonic.
/think of Kefka's laugh from FF6. For those who don't know, it's the origin of the iconic Sonic.Exe laugh.\
Now everyone watching was starting to feel concern.
Colton in this crazed frenzy charged at Riser, attacking him brutally.
Riser tried to fight back, but he was given no such opportunity.
Colton used his sharpened finger tips to scratch Riser, the wounds from the scratches wouldn't heal.
The red static would continuously appear as Colton delivered attack after attack. Each time it appeared, Riser suddenly had more scratch wounds.
Colton then hit Riser in the gut with a powerful punch. Following through with the attack, he shoved Riser into the ground.
Colton was about to deliver another powerful blow when he heard a voice.
"That's enough Colton!" Rias shouted.
Colton turned and looked at Rias, still having that crazed look.
"He's unconscious. We've won." She stated.
Colton was about to step forward when he stopped.
His face turned from a crazed look, to a look of contemplation.
After a moment the blood on Colton's face disappeared as his fingers returned to normal. His eyes also changed back to their original color.
Colton stumbled a little before regaining his balance.
Colton then looked at his hands and noticed the small traces of blood. "Oh. I lost control."
"...Riser Phenex has been knocked unconscious. Therefore Rias Gremory and her peerage are the winners." Grayfia said after a moment of hesitation.
Colton looked back and noticed Riser with all the scratch marks on him. "Yeah. I definitely lost control."
Rias then walked up to Colton, with Issei and Asia not too far behind.
"What was that?" She asked.
"I think it would be better if we waited until everyone is gathered in one place. The onlookers as well." Colton suggested.
Rias then sighed. "Alright."
At the real ORC building, Rias and the entire peerage was gathered, with Koneko Kiba and Akeno all recovered.
Sona and her peerage were there, since they were onlookers.
Grayfia along with two more people were also there.
The two others are two of the 4 Satans. Sirzechs Lucifer and Serafall Leviathan are there names.
They are the older brother to Rias and older sister to Sona respectively.
"So... care to explain." Rias said.
Colton took a deep breath. "What you saw had to do with my heritage. The heritage that I haven't explained about."
"Go on." Rias encouraged.
Koneko, who was sitting next to Colton, put a hand on his own.
Colton smiled at her. Then he took another deep breath. "I'm half demon."
"Oh. Looks like you finally stop hiding the truth." A female voice said.
Colton, who knew the voice, paled.
He got up and turned to see a dark portal.
Out of the portal stepped a woman with blue skin and long white hair. She wore a lab coat over some back and red clothing.
Another figure stepped out of the portal. This figure is a purple skinned adult also with white hair tied in a ponytail. He also had a pair of glasses on, although he doesn't need them to see, it's just for the looks.
"Mother!... Fu." Colton said, with the last part holding a bit of annoyance.
"Ouch. It's been how long, and you greet your big brother like that. I'm hurt." The male, now named Fu, said dramatically.
"Apologies, but who are you?" Sirzechs asked.
"I am the Demon Queen: Towa." Said the now named Towa.
"Demon Queen?" Serafall inquired.
"It's simple really, there's a realm not to different from the Underworld, it's called the Demon Realm, mother here is the ruler of it, especially since my Uncle, the previous King: Dabura, died." Fu explained.
Koneko then connected the dots. "Colton, your royalty?"
Everyone then stared at him. "... Yes." He said, a little uncomfortable.
"Aww, my sweet little Xeno is embarrassed." Towa said teasingly.
"Xeno?" Issei asked.
"It's my birth name." Colton said. "I'd still like to not be referred by that name."
"Oh quit being a baby Xeno." Fu said.
Colton glared at him. Fu responded by using a taunting gesture.
Colton charged at Fu, and as if it was a cartoon, a smoke cloud formed around them as they fought.
'Now I see what he meant by them not getting along.' Rias thought.
"To think that Demons still exist. I was under the impression that they died out a long time ago." Sirzechs said.
The fight between the siblings was still going on. Towa sighed. "Boys. That's enough." She said with an tone that showed authority.
The cloud immediately vanished as they all could see Colton had latched onto Fu's back and had bitten him on the head.
The two stay still for a moment before instantly standing 6 feet apart at attention.
"Now, to what I was going to say: us demons haven't died out. In fact we're thriving. We just haven't left the Demon Realm in some time." Towa explained.
"Are demons different than devils?" Asia asked.
"Similar and different at the same time actually. The only actual difference is that we are more 'unholy' than devils, thus we are weaker to light and holy magic than devils." Fu explained.
Rias then realized something. "Wait. If demons and devils are practically the same, and Colton is a prince... does that mean for devil standards he's a high class?"
"Considering that he's half devil and half demon, I believe that he should be considered a high class, since he's a prince for the demon side. I'll make sure to get that updated." Sirzechs said.
"That means he can already have his own peerage." Akeno commented.
"... wait. We never got into what that power during the Rating Game was." Sona realized.
"Ah. I can easily explain that." Towa declared. "You see, we are descendants of two powerful demon clans. The royal clan, which has been ruling the Demon Realm for eons, and the EXE clan."
"The EXE clan!" Sirzechs exclaimed.
"Brother, what's wrong?" Rias asked.
Sirzechs then calmed down. "Apologies for my outburst. The EXE clan was known for being an incredibly dangerous and powerful demon clan. So powerful that they could alter reality in small ways. Typically shown through the use of red... static." Sirzechs said as he realized. He face palmed. "Why didn't I realize sooner."
"Correct about the EXE clan. Now, Xeno here is the only one of this current bloodline to actually be able to use the power of the EXE clan. Although it's risky for him to use, since the particular member of the clan we descend from is none other than the head of that clan: Xenophane. He was known for being incredibly violent." Fu explained.
"It probably had to do with the fact that I was born only half demon, or something like that." Colton explained.
Koneko then walked over to him. "You really hid all of this from us?"
Colton looked down. "I'm sorry. I just- I didn't know how you guys would react. Knowing that I'm a descendant of a monster like Xenophane."
"Well, I don't view you as a monster. You're still you." Koneko said, as she hugged him. He hugged back, with a smile.
"Aww! How cute! Tell me, is she your girlfriend or something?" Towa asked.
Colton looked away in embarrassment. "Yes. This is Koneko Toujou."
"Koneko dear. Please come here." Towa asked.
Koneko obliged and walked over.
Kobe stopped in front of Towa. Towa stared at Koneko, looking into her soul.
Towa then stopped. "You have my blessing!" She says, wrapping Koneko up in a big hug.
"Mother! Why!?" Colton shouts, now extremely embarrassed.
Fu just started laughing at his expression.
Towa released Koneko, who was red with embarrassment.
Akeno the just realized the meaning behind what Towa just said. "Oh my. It looks like Koneko is already a future princess of the Demon Realm."
Koneko was then overloaded and fainted.
Colton quickly caught her before she hit the ground.
After a moment, Koneko regains consciousness. She realized that she was being held by Colton and went red.
Colton set her down, also a little red.
Once they calmed down, Sirzechs then spoke up. "While it's nice to learn all of this information, I did have an idea for if Rias won the Rating Game."
"What is the idea brother?" Rias asked.
"A party. A large party held at the Gremory Manor. I'll allow all the major pillars to have the choice of attending the party, that way, the Underworld can know just how much you have grown."
"Oh my! What a wonderful idea. May Fu and I join?" Towa asked.
"Of course. That way, we can continue this conversation tomorrow. Alright, this impromptu meeting is finished."
Colton then turned to his family. "Could the two of you help me with something?"
"What would that be?" Towa asked.
"Koneko and I agreed for her to move into my house when the Rating Game was over, so could you two help us with the move?"
"Sure! Isn't that right Fu?"
"Fine." Fu said rolling his eyes.
The four of them gather around as Koneko teleported them away.
It has been a few hours.
The move has been successful and Koneko's stuff was all put away.
Colton and Koneko shared his room, with her clothes in an extra dresser.
Although to accommodate the dresser, Towa used spacial magic to make the room bigger.
Towa even went beyond and made the entire house a lot bigger on the inside than the outside.
Koneko had been fully accommodated in.
Currently, the two were in bed, cuddling.
"Today sure was crazy." Colton stated.
"Yeah. To think I'm dating a prince." Koneko said.
Colton rolled his eyes. "Just don't start calling me Xeno."
"As I said before. You're still you. The boy I fell in love with."
The two then kiss. They snuggle up closer together and fall asleep.
