I.

High Priest Keidou Nakamura sought guidance from his godly master, The Allmind, about a vision of an event that endangers all of Creation. This vision is mostly unclear, but the only thing that makes this disaster known is a being that fate has bound to Keidou, an enemy far greater than any he could imagine. That enemy is himself.

"Hear me, O Great Allmind! I request your counsel!"

A voice neither male nor female echoed in the chamber from an amorphous shrine. "You have my attention, High Priest. What is it that brings you trouble?"

Keidou attempted to swallow the lump in his throat caused by the stress of his vision before speaking. "I've received a vision that, despite it's vagueness, warns of a threat to Creation. That threat is one sole person whose existence haunts me..."

"Tell me, High Priest, who is this threat of which you speak?"

Keidou paused, as if he was truly unsure of his answer. "They are... He is... I am the threat, yet I am not. This individual looks as if he is a reflection of me. When I caught a glimpse of him, I swear that he grinned at me, menacingly."

"Hmm... this is dire indeed. This... reflection of you - this threat, he is known as an Inverse. Are you familiar with Inverses and the concept of Creation's Duality?"

"No, my Lord. I am not," Keidou replied.

"I see... the concept states that when Creation made The Gods that gave life to HoloCouncil, The Wahtcher, The Oddity, and The Avatar of Hope, it created a polar opposite of them. These opposites are a hivemind being known only as The Dark Cosmos. The creations they made were twisted fallacies of The Gods' work. I cannot speak the names of these wretched entities for fear of summoning them, but I can, however, say that everything they created was made with evil intentions. It was... wrong.

"I am the only one among The Gods that knows of this concept, but I mustn't say I am the only one that exists who knows of it. My Inverse- I cannot utter their true name, so I'll refer to them as The Warpmind - they know of the concept and have a near identical telling of it. I know everything Warpmind knows as do they know everything I know. Normally the knowledge of the existence of one's Inverse is considered a cognitohazard, but for me and my Inverse, it poses no threat. We are the only two beings in Creation's Duality that act as one being, despite them being the nucleus of the Dark Cosmos hivemind."

Keidou, both horrified and enlightened by this knowledge had one question that could impact his loyalty to The Allmind. "I guess it is safe to say that you know everything the other hivemind members know as well as The Warpmind. Is this the reason you're known as The Allmind?"

"High Priest, under any other circumstance I would cast you into exile for asking such a question, but considering the situation your vision has placed us both in, I can only forgive you and tell you my shameful truth. I am the shell of the hivemind. A skull, if you will. I am not influenced by The Dark Cosmos for I am their jailor. I keep this reality safe from their harm. I have never told anyone this information, as I fear the punishment the other gods will enforce upon me.

"I will not be offended if your loyalty to me has reached it's end, but you must consider that you are not just an anointed and favored priest of mine, but you are part of a prophecy whispered to your Inverse long before the birth of both of you. You will bring the Duality to an end and unify the Inverse Realities under your rule as a new god. Do not fail us, Keidou."

The High Priest reflected on what was said before coming to his conclusion. "My loyalty to you is unfaltered, despite knowing the truth about you. I will remain High Priest of The Allmind until the prophecy is fulfilled. At that point I shall bequeath my title to the young Archivist known as Shiori Novella. She may be a fugitive that has escaped containment with four other criminals and has formed a rebellious group with them, with her acting as leader, but she has potential.

"Oh, my Lord, I have yet another question, this one regarding the prophecy. When I ascend to godhood, how important will my placement in the pantheon be?"

"Hmm..." The Allmind pondered Keidou's question for a moment before giving his guess. "Considering how you would unite the Inverse Realities after undoing Creation's Duality, you would probably be in the highest ranking."

After The Allmind finished giving their answer, another vision struck Keidou, this one being more understandable... and more foreboding.
