Lily was excited to head back to her home. She noticed that Petunia didn't seem to be happy about something, she would ask her later, but other than that, she thought Christmas was going to be amazing, with no surprises other than the presents. So when they got home and there were police cars at Severus's house, Lily was shocked. She walked over to the house, but before she could get far, a cop stopped her. He said,"Excuse me Ma'am, but you can't go here."
Then Lily said,"Well, that's my friend's house. We go to the same boarding school, and he stayed there for Christmas,"
Then the police man said,"Well, that boy's mother just was arrested."
Then Lily yelled," WHAT!"
The police officer said," Yes, and the husband is dead."
Lily then walked back to her home and wrote to Severus.
Dear Severus,
I have some bad news. Your mother got arrested and apparently your father is dead. Do you think you know what happened? Do you have any relatives that you could stay with? Please answer me as soon as possible.

Lily then sent the letter on an owl. She then had to wait for the letter to return. Lily wanted to tackle the next issue, Petunia. So Lily went to her sister's room and knocked on the door.
"What is it," said Petunia.
"Hey, er, it's Lily. Can we please talk?" asked Lily.
"WHAT," shrieked Petunia. She violently slammed the door open with a bang and then yelled," GET OUT OF HERE, YOU FREAK. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PARENTS OF THAT BOY WHO DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE IN MY PRESENCE. HE IS SO POOR THAT I SEE HIM WORKING A JOB. ME AND MY FRIENDS ALL SPEND OUR FREE TIME MAKING HIS LIFE HARD. WE ENJOY IT. SO LEAVE OR WE WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU." Then she slammed the door. Lily then ran out.
Lily knew that her parents were going grocery shopping and would not return for an hour, so she went to the park. She hoped that the letter would get to Hogwarts quickly.
