-Chapter 4-

"The Sweetest Psycho You'll Ever Meet!"

"Thank you! And come again!" The cupcake said, waving goodbye to his last costumers. As they left, he closed the door behind him. "Phew! What a day!" He said, wiping the sweat from his forehead. The candy store usually gets busy on the weekends, unless it's a holiday or special occasion. Also, it seems that this place gets busier everyday since his friend had disappeared. He haven't seen her since late Halloween night, and that had been a week ago. He wanted to go check up on her, but he wanted to give her some space since she was having a rough time dealing with some troublesome children. And now, he was getting worried. He tried to send a letter and call by telephone, but no answer. So, the cupcake made up his mind. He closed up the store and started to head out to his car. He was going to visit her house to see if she was okay.

It was getting late as the cupcake drove his vehicle into the woods. He came to abrupt stop when he saw two children running in front of him. They appeared to be running after a giant peppermint, that's leading them deeper into the woods, which is very dangerous place for young children to be at this time of day. He got out his car and started to chase after them. This day have gotten more stressful for the already exhausted cupcake.

He finally managed to catch up to them until they disappeared near some trees. He immediately stop chasing them. "Now, where did they go ?" He said, walking slowly towards the trees that the children disappeared to. As he walked in between the trees, his expression had quickly changed. His eyes had lit up as he took in his surroundings. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. This place looks like something that you've probably seen in old fairytale book. Well, he couldn't gets his hopes up just yet. He went towards a waterfall that looked like it was made out of chocolate. He put his finger in the liquid and gave it a little taste. "It is chocolate!" He said, licking his lips. "I bet Bon would like to see a place like this! She would be so happy!"

After he said that, he realized why he was here in the first place. He shook his head and decided to focus on finding the children and heading back to check up on his friend. As he tread further into this world, he heard some screaming in the distant. "Oh no! The children!"

When he got closer, he saw something in the distant. It was hard to make out but he did see the silhouettes of children, running away from something.

He started to panic. The children were to far away to notice him. So, he ran in the direction that they were going. When he got closer, these weren't the children he saw earlier. These were candied versions of them. Also, the thing that was chasing the poor children was a candy castle, which has a bite mark on the side, was somehow alive and monstrous.

He was getting very tired, but kept moving. He couldn't let this thing harm the children. The cupcake tried to sped up, but ended up tripping over a jawbreaker. When he got back on his feet, the castle had leap over towards the children and block their path. Just then, a strange woman had appeared from the top of the castle and snatch the children up. She immediately went inside the castle and shut the door behind her. It didn't take long before she came back out looking very satisfied. She was licking her lips and rubbing her stomach. The cupcake looked at her in utter horror. "Did she just? No, she couldn't have done that. She probably ate something else and have the children looked up inside." The cupcake said to himself in a whisper. There's no way someone would do such a thing, right? At least, that's what he want to believe.

He got up and ran towards the woman. He wasn't going anywhere until he took the children out of this place and drive them safely home. "Hey, miss! Those children don't belong to you! Hand them over before I go tell the cops!" He said, trying to look intimidating. "Excuse me?!" The woman said, turning around to see who speak to her in such rude manner. "You heard me lady! Give me those kids or else!" The woman's eyes had glowed red while looking menacingly at the cupcake. "It's Baroness Von Bon Bon to you mister! How dare you come to into my home and disrespect me?!" The cupcake looked at her very closely. He just realized that this woman looked exactly like his friend. No, this couldn't be her, his friend was sweetheart, not a psychopath that likes kidnapping children. If this was her, then that would explain why she never responded to any of his calls or letters.

"Wait, your name is Bon Bon?" The cupcake asked nervously. "Yes, but since you came at me with such rudeness, you can only call me the baroness." The baroness said, crossing her arms. "Well, I supposed you can call me C.C. since it was the nickname you gave me when we first met." The cupcake said, looking the other direction to avoid eye contact. The baroness looked directly at him, she was gonna question him on what he was taking about until she got a good look at him. Her eyes widened. She gasped, "C.C., is that really you?" The cupcake was sorta happy that she he remembered him, but that happiness quickly went away. "Yeah, it's me Bon. I've been worried sick about you. You haven't answer any of my calls or even wrote back to me. You left me alone to work by myself at the store without even bothering to come in and say hello. I guess you were just too busy kidnapping kids to even care about me anymore! I should have never gave you that candy cane if this is how you repay my kindness to you!" He yelled, looking straight at her while wiping away his angry tears.

If the baroness mind wasn't so corrupted, she would actually felt guilty neglecting and hurting her friend. So, instead of her apologizing, she yelled back at him. "Oh? You want you your gift back, huh? Well then, here you go!" She threw the candy at him and he caught it before it hit the ground. "I already made myself one, so I don't need that anymore. Also, you are a little late of trying to get the children, there's nothing left of them anyways." She gave him a malicious smile. The cupcake froze. "What do you mean there's nothing left of them?!" He said, there was panic in his tone. "Let's just say that they are currently facing the consequences of breaking my rules" She gesture to her stomach, which made the poor cupcake feel sick. What had happened to his best friend?

"You know what Bon? If I had knew you would turn out like this, I would have never even become friends with someone like you!" With that said, the cupcake ran as fast as he can and didn't even bother looking back. When he gets back to inkwell, he would report her to the police, close down the store, and become an ice cream man. That is what he wanted to do before they met, but since they became friends, he decided to help her with the store instead. Now, he doesn't want anything to do with her. He was also going to go back to being a muffin as well. He was only a cupcake due to her helping him changed his appearance to looked more suitable for job that was surrounded by sugar. When he reached his vehicle, he took out the candy cane that she gave back to him. He stared at it for awhile and decided to keep it. He doesn't know why, but put it back in his pocket and drive off.

The baroness rolled her eyes as she watched him run off crying. How did she ended up with friend like that to begin with? He was very stupid, just like the children who she definitely devoured a few minutes ago. Which she had to admit, they looked very tasty at the very moment that they were turned into candy. So, she started to prepare for her next victims. And who knows, maybe he will forget everything that happened and come back. As the baroness always say, "They always come back!"
