CHAPTER 8: Seeing Earth, House Expansion and New Year celebration
Al and Syl, Matthew and Olivia the Heavenly family are flying around the countryside as Al says to his children, "Come on! let's take a look at the world while we're all up here," Al says.
Syl, Olivia, and Matthew all nod their heads at Al. The Heavenly family fly through the sky as they sightsee the world below them.
Over Dodge City as the Town is bustling with activity. The family flies directly above it attracting the attention of the townsfolks. Marshall Dillon, Kitty Russell, Festus, Newly and Doc see the four flying, "Well I'll be dogged look at that Matthew!" Festus says.
"I see it Festus! That does look beautiful," Matt says.
"They are very lucky," Kitty says.
The Heavenly Family looks down at the Town and waves at them as they continue to fly through the sky and the Town waves back as they look up in astonishment.
The Heavenly family then comes upon the Indian Nation where Al and Syl got married as Al says, "Son, daughter this is where your Ma and Pa got married. We were married by the Indian Nation as well as by the American people."
Syl smiles as she remembers the wedding ceremony.
Both Matthew and Olivia look at their Ma and Pa and says, "Ma, Pa that is wonderful!"
Syl responds, "And great memories also! My children."
As they are flying above the Indian Camp the Chief and his Braves look up and notice Al and Syl and they wave to them. Then they also notice the children with them as they say to each other, "Al and Syl, the Sky people, the ones that we married here awhile back now have children. We are so happy for them!"
The Braves howl in jubilation as the Indian women and children wave as well.
Al, Syl, Matthew and Olivia wave back to the Indians as they continue to fly through the sky.
Next the Heavenly family cames up upon the Ponderosa in Nevada territory flying over the house of the Cartwrights. Ben Cartwright is standing outside to call his sons to come in for lunch. Mr. Cartwright sees the Heavenly family as he says to his three sons, "Look the Heavenly couple are flying up above and they also have children with them now. Remember when they helped us and we let them have their honeymoon on our Lake Tahoe?"
Little Joe Cartwright answers, "Yes Pa we remember that!"
"Well, I'll be Pa. Isn't that beautiful!" Hoss says.
"Yes son. It is," Ben replies.
I know they are proud and will teach their children well. Like you taught us Pa," Adam says.
Hop Sing watches from his kitchen window waving at the family too.
All the Cartwrights look up in the sky and wave at the Heavenly family passing by as Sly says, "Children those are the Cartwrights. We had our honeymoon on their Lake which is just right over there to the left. They own one of the largest lands in America called the Ponderosa."
"Wow!" Olivia and Matthew say astounded by their Ma's words.
The Heavenly family waves back at the Cartwrights and then Matthew and Olivia look down over the lake where their Ma and Pa had their honeymoon and they say, "Ma, Pa that is a beautiful scene the lake looks so beautiful!"
Syl than looks at her husband Al and then at her children and says, "Yes it is! It was such a beautiful place to have our honeymoon!"
An hour later the Heavenly Family are in NorthFork territory in New Mexico. Lucas McCain and his son Mark are outside of his wife's Hotel and they just look up to the sky and see the Heavenly family. Mark says, "Pa, look it's the Heavenly couple! They didn't have children with them before when they helped us back when we had that wagon accident."
Lucas answers his son, "They sure didn't. The Lord must have blessed them with children since then."
Lou Mallory McCain comes out of her Hotel seeing her husband and son looking at the sky. Lou looks up at the sky and smiling joining her husband and son. Mrs. McCain says as she is looking up, "I will never forget how they helped us over a year ago."
Mark replies to his Ma, "Ma, the children at school sure was surprised when I told them we met up with the Heavenly couple and that they helped us out on the Prairie."
Lucas, Lou and Mark continue to look up at the sky and they wave to the Heavenly Family and the Heavenly family waves back.
The family continues to fly and as they fly over a road they see up ahead two riders on two horses.
Instantly Al and Syl recognizes the bright white stallion and a brown and white stallion.
"Look Al, isn't that the Lone Ranger and Tonto?" Syl says.
"It sure is Syl let's fly over them," Al says.
As they are riding Tonto and The Lone Ranger stops and they look up, "Kemosabe, look there is the Heavenly couple and also they have children with them," Tonto says.
"I see Tonto, its good they have. I know they will teach them to fight for justice." The Lone Ranger says.
The two legendary Heroes wave at the Heavenly Heroes and they wave back.
"Children that man with the mask on is called The Lone Ranger and his Indian companion Tonto. They fight for justice like we do." Al says.
"Yes, and he even gave me one of his silver bullets, " Syl says to her children.
"Wow!" Both Matthew and Olivia say at the same time.
The Heavenly Family continues to fly around the Countryside as both Matthew and Olivia say to their Ma and Pa, "The Earth and God's creation is so beautiful!"
"It sure is children," Al and Syl both say.
Soon the family arrives at home in Walnut Grove and lands in front of their door on the Webb Farm. The door opens and Hector Webb, Charles and Caroline, their children, Laura and Almanzo, Jenny and Rose come out and greets the superpowered family.
The families hug each other.
"Well, lookee here looks like our grandchildren has growed abit," Hector says seeing Olivia and Matthew.
"Oh they are so beautiful!" Caroline says.
Matthew and Olivia both smile at their grandparents.
"Thank you all for the support but now we have to get to work to expand the house for our children," Albert says.
"However, we can have a little celebration in a few days after things are done," Sylvia says.
The family agrees and not too long after they begin to go back to their respected homes.
"We will see you in a few days Albert and Sylvia," Charles says as he and his family are departing.
"Bye Albert, bye Sylvia, bye Olivia, bye Matthew," Laura says.
The Superpowered family waves at their family members. Also Matthew and Olivia give their Grandma and Grandpa Charles and Caroline Ingalls a big hug and says to them, "We love you Grandma and Grandpa we will see you all in a few days."
Charles and Caroline both respond back to their grandchildren, ''We love you too!"
Hector decides to go with Laura, Almanzo and their family to the boarding house for a few days so Albert and Sylvia and their children can fix their farm up to better accommodate everybody.
Soon the Heavenly family is totally alone.
"Well you all. I don't know about you but I am starving," Albert says.
"Me too," Matthew says.
"I'm hungry also," Olivia says.
"Ok, let's go in and eat. I'll fix up something and then we can get a good night's sleep and then tomorrow we'll start on the house," Sylvia replies.
The family all take each other's hands and they walk to their house going inside and shutting the door. Sylvia makes a nice supper of Beef Stew, Cornbread, Dinner rolls and an Apple pie. They enjoy their supper and head off to bed early. Matthew and Olivia both sleep in their grandfather's bed for the time being before they can make a new bed in their new room.
Sylvia tucks Matthew and Olivia in their Grandpa's bed as she tells them, "Goodnight my children sleep well. We have a busy day tomorrow."
Matthew and Olivia hug their Ma and Pa goodnight and says, "You sleep well too Ma, Pa. We love you." Albert and Sylvia head off to bed as well.
Meanwhile up in Heaven God looks from his cloud Tv and smiles, "I am so proud of you all my children. Sleep well," He says.
Early the next day the rooster crows signaling the morning. At the Webb and Quinn farm in their bedroom Albert and Sylvia open their eyes waking up, "Good morning Mrs. Ingalls," Albert says.
Good morning also Mr. Ingalls," Sylvia says.
As the couple stretches out they smell the aroma of a newly prepared breakfast, "Wow! darling that smells so good!" Sylvia says.
"It sure does darling. You don't think the kids did? Did they?" Albert asks.
Then there's a knock on their bedroom door, "Come in," Albert says.
The door opens and their children Matthew and Olivia in their nightgowns come into the room. Both of them carrying trays with breakfast which includes Ham, scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy with coffee,
"Good morning Ma and Pa!" The children say.
"Good morning children," Their parents reply back.
"You both fixed this for us. Oh how sweet of you," Sylvia says taking her tray from Matthew.
Albert takes his tray from his daughter, Olivia smiling at her, "We are so proud of you both. I was wondering how you both was able to fix us breakfast?" Albert asks.
Olivia holds her flower necklace up. Matthew pulls out his left arm with his golden watch on it. Both objects begin to glow lightly.
Sylvia responds, "Wow! My son and daughter."
"We just had the knowledge to fix breakfast for you Pa," Matthew says.
"Yeah and it's so fun cooking in the kitchen," Olivia says.
Albert and Sylvia look at each other smiling. It seems that the children's gifts they have gotten from the Lord gives their children the wisdom needed to do things rather then waiting to learn how to.
Matthew and Olivia go back into the kitchen and get their own trays of food and a cup of milk and they sit on each side of the bed next to their parents.
The four began eating and for a while the family just sits together enjoying their meal and being in each other's company.
After an hour or two at 10 am after their breakfast and getting dressed. The superpowered family are ready to get to work on expanding their house to include one big bedroom for the kids. Albert and his son take to the air heading to the forest to gather wood for the room.
Meanwhile, Sylvia and her daughter go to the barn. They see a little bit of leftover wood from when both Sylvia and Albert used to expand their room. There is also large sheets and a bundle of Hay. It was enough to start working on two beds and to make two mattresses.
Sylvia thinks with their powers she and her daughter should be finished with the beds and mattresses by the time Albert and his son return.
"Well Olivia my daughter let's get to work," Sylvia says.
"Ok Ma!" Olivia excitedly replies. She's excited for she is about to use some of her powers for the first time.
As Sylvia is working on one bed and mattress she magically with her wedding ring glowing gets the bed frame done in just 5 minutes and in another five minutes the mattress is put together and sewed up with the hay inside of it.
Olivia is standing back watching her mother working and says, "Wow! The bed and mattress looks beautiful."
Sylvia says to her daughter, "Olivia, now let's see what you can do with the other bed and mattress."
Olivia goes to work on the second bed and mattress and her yellow necklace around her neck begins to glow and also in about 5 minutes the bed frame is done and another 5 minutes the mattress is finished and sewed up with the hay inside as well.
Sylvia looking at Olivia's work says to her daughter, "You did a beautiful job as well. The bed and mattress look good. Both beds look nice."
Olivia has a big smile on her face as she agrees with her mother.
Meanwhile out in the woods Albert and his son Matthew are able to cut down some trees and get some wood as Matthew says excitedly to his dad, "Pa that was easy as pie with the Superpowers that God gave us in your wedding ring and in my wrist watch. It took no time at all to cut that wood."
Albert agrees with his son and then he says, "But more importantly son our Superpowers are to help those who need it out on the frontier."
A few minutes later Albert and Matthew are back at the house with the wood in hand as they go in they see that the beds and mattresses are put together and Albert says to his wife and daughter, "You both did a good job while we were gone."
Albert than says to his son, "It's now time for us to get to work here as your mother and sister clean up the old cribs and put other things away."
Matthew responds to his Pa, "Yes Pa let's get to work."
In a matter of moments with no trouble at all both Albert and Matthew have the back wall knocked out of the back of the old nursey and rebuilt about 5 to 6 ft of extra space for the kids bedroom. Albert and Matthew using their super strength and speed start to install the walls with the wood. Matthew holds each plank while Albert fastens them with nails.
In the meantime inside Sylvia and Olivia has all the debris picked and cleaned up. Then they both start installing wood on the interior floor. Olivia has made a long colorful sheet that will be used to divide the room to give her and her brother Matthew privacy as her mother works on the floor.
They now have space for the kids to place a new dresser into separate corners for them to put their clothes and other things in.
Because of their superpowers Albert, Sylvia, Matthew and Olivia are not tired and in about 2hrs. the work is finally completed.
Next Albert, Sylvia, Matthew and Olivia all stand back and survey they work as they look at the room and all agree that it's beautiful.
"Wow! Our own room!" Matthew says.
"Yes son! Yours and your sister's," Albert says looking at his boy.
Sylvia says, "We have time to go over to Laura to Almanzo's house to get your grandpa, Hector Webb and to let them know that we are finished up with the house."
Albert locks up the farmhouse up and starts walking over to the Wilder's Boarding House as Albert says, "Sylvia, my love I just realized our special tree is in between us and going to the Boarding House. Let's take the kids to go see the tree."
Sylvia says, "That's a good idea my love!"
Sylvia looks at her 2 children saying, "Children, We are going to take you to see a very special tree that played a major role in our lives."
Matthew and Olivia smile at their Ma and Pa than they continue the walk toward the river and their very special tree. They stop at the tree for a moment. Sylvia reads the engraving, 'Albert Loves Sylvia' and as she touchs the engraving she says, "Oh Albert this is still so beautiful!"
Albert says, "Just like you are my love!" They then engage in a kiss.
Matthew and Olivia looking at their mother and father start to giggle a little and they both say, "Ma, Pa the tree is beautiful!"
They all stand back for a moment looking and smiling at the tree than Albert says, "Let's be on our way to Laura and Almanzo's."
When they arrive at the Boarding House they notice that the Ingalls are there. Al tells the whole family, "We are done with the house and if you like you can all come over and see the children's new bedroom."
The Wilders, the Ingalls and the Superpowered family all load up into the Buckboards and head over to the Webb's Farm. When the family arrives at the house they all look at the new children's bedroom and agree that it is beautiful and then Laura says, "Tomorrow being New Year's Eve we are going to have a celebration at our house and later tomorrow night we will go into Town to see the fireworks."
They all agree to have a New Year's Eve celebration at the Wilder's Boarding House along with the Town's fireworks display.
Charles and Caroline and their family as well as Laura and Almanzo and their family head back to their own places as Albert and Sylvia both say, "We will see you tomorrow."
The next day, New Year's the Quinn's along with Hector Webb head over to the Wilder's Boarding house. The family decides to walk again instead of using their powers of flying. Albert and Sylvia says, "Children only use your powers when really needed."
At 5pm they arrive at the house. Laura answers the door and greets the family inviting them in, "So glad you all are her now we can begin the celebration," Laura says.
"I'm hungry," Matthew says.
Sylvia and Albert laugh a bit at their son as well as Laura and Almanzo.
"Don't worry Matthew", Laura mentions, We have enough food for everyone. After we all eat we will go into Town to see the fireworks festival. There maybe food there also.
Matthew smiles big.
"Yay!" Olivia says.
Then Matthew asks, "What time do the fireworks start?
Laura answers, "About 11:15pm but the festivities start about 8:30 with games and refreshments."
"Sounds like fun!" Both Matthew and Olivia say.
Soon the family is sitted around the table. Laura asks, "Sylvia can you say grace?"
"Sure," Sylvia answers and prays, "Dear Lord, We thank Thee for this good meal. Please continue to bless us with Your presence and wisdom in the New year that comes before us. Amen."
"Amen," Albert, Matthew, Olivia, Charles, Caroline, Carrie, Grace, Cassandra, James, Laura, Almanzo, Rose, Jenny, and Hector say in unison.
The families enjoy a feast of Roast beef, Mashed potatoes, Gravy, Beets, Corn on the cob, baked bread and milk.
After digging into the delicious meal the families have a hot apple pie for dessert.
After dinner the families enjoy dancing to music. Charles and Almanzo play the fiddle and guitar. The children play various games.
Around 8:00pm. it's time to go into Town to see the fireworks. The family all get into their buckboards and start to go off to Town.
Soon the families arrive in Town. It's a beautiful night. There are games being played 3 legged races, tug of war and other activities. Everyone is enjoying themselves. It's now about 10:45pm Neils Oleson announces, "A half hour till the fireworks."
The perfect time and setting for fireworks. The Townsfolks begin sitting in lawn chairs or in their wagons waiting for the fireworks to begin.
"Matthew, Olivia this will be your first time seeing fireworks. It's beautiful. God's world will welcome in the New Year," Albert says.
Matthew and Olivia smile as their mother hugs them saying, "We love you both."
"We love you, Pa, Grandpa Webb and the rest of the family," The two newest members of the family says.
Then Albert notices that there is a lemonade stand on the porch of the Oleson's Mercantile and asks all the family, "Would you like some lemonade?"
They all say, "Yes," in unison.
Albert says, "Sylvia and I we'll go get some for everyone."
Matthew and Olivia ask, "Ma, Pa can we go with you?"
Also Carrie and Grace Ingalls ask, "Can we go along too?"
Sylvia answers, "Sure you kids can come along to get the lemonade with us."
Albert, Sylvia, Matthew Olivia along with Carrie and Grace all go to get lemonade for their families. As they return with a tray of lemonade Neils Oleson is making another announcement, "The fireworks will start in about 5 minutes."
The fireworks start as Matthew and Olivia see the first firework or two come down they look up at the sky and then to their Ma and Pa and Matthew says, "Pa, you were so right the fireworks are awesome!"
Olivia agrees, "Yes they are so beautiful!"
They continue to watch the fireworks and in about 45 minutes the fireworks display is finished and it strikes midnight January 1st 1897 right as the last firework is shown. Neils Oleson wishes everyone a Happy New Year as he dismisses.
Albert and Sylvia kiss to bring in the New Year as Albert whispers to Sylvia, "And maybe later we will some more fun!"
Sylvia giggles a little, "Oh Albert!"
Matthew and Olivia notice that there is a bright light of red and orange coming from some bushes near the schoolhouse/Church and they say to their Pa, "Pa. look. It looks like there's a fire over there."
Albert responds, "Yes! It looks like a fire. Some fireworks must have landed and caused it. We better go check it out."
Albert tells the whole family not wanting to frighten them, "Matthew, Olivia, Sylvia and I need to check on something we will be right back."
Albert, Sylvia, Matthew and Olivia head over to where they see the fire. However they see another structure that has caught on fire, the Feed and Seed store. Apparently some flames from the bushes have drifted over to the wooden roof of the Feed Store and caught on fire.
Sylvia says, "You kids might have to use your superpowers to put out the bush fire while your father and I save the Feed and Seed store to keep the Town from burning."
Matthew and Olivia both being a little concerned both say, "Ma, Pa we will do our best."
Albert mentions, "Just remember kids the Lord is with us."
Albert and Sylvia run over to the Feed and Seed to put out that fire while their children deal with the bushes. This will be their first test as new young Heavenly Heros.
They are now in front of the bushes that are on fire. Matthew and Olivia both hold up their wrist watch and necklace and they began to glow brightly and the fire is put out with water starting to spray and flow out of Olivia's yellow flower necklace she moves her necklace back and forth like a water hose.
Than a little wind from Matthew's watch blows the smoke away.
After the fire is out Matthew and Olivia extend their hands and arms and waves their little fingers magically and the burnt bushes are instantly revived like new leaving no damage to the bushes or the Town.
Meanwhile at the Feed and Seed Albert and Sylvia are already in action putting out that fire. Sylvia flies to the roof while Albert is near the loading docks where some of the sacks are already on fire. Both blow a quick stream of angelic super breath of air on the flames and the fire is instantly put out. Both smile then waving their hands Albert and Sylvia instantly repair the Feed and Seed as if the fire never took place.
Sylvia lands back next to her husband and they both see their children running a bit towards them. The family hugs each other as Matthew says, "Ma, Pa! We did it! We put out the fire!"
"You both did very good! We're proud of you both," Albert says.
"Ma, Pa, you both was not bad yourselves. We are proud to be your daughter and son!" Olivia says.
"Thank you children," Sylvia replies, "We better get back to the others. We all will be heading home soon."
The family takes each other's hands and they all begin to walk back to join their relatives.
Up in Heaven God is looking down and He says, "My Godchildren, you did well! You will surely follow your parent's footsteps I am proud of you!"
The Quinn family are back with their relatives of the Ingalls and Wilders. It's about 1am time to head for home. The families get on their buckboards and head out of Town. After having a wonderful time seeing the fireworks.
The first stop is the Wilder's Boarding House. Laura, Almanzo, Rose and Jenny all say good night to the rest of the family and goes inside to turn in. Laura tells the group they will see them later.
The remaining two families continue heading home. They arrive at the Ingalls house. Carrie, Cassandra, James and Grace all going to the house only Charles and Caroline remain outside to talk with the Webb/Quinn family, "Do you want to use our buckboard to ride home?" Charles asks.
"Thanks Pa, but no. We will go the rest of the way from here. It's a nice night to fly with Sylvia's Pa the rest of the way home," Albert says.
Sylvia then hugs her mother in law then her father in law. "Don't worry Caroline and Charles. We all will be okay. See you all in a few days."
Albert and Sylvia, their children and Hector Webb walk away from the elder Ingalls.
Olivia and Matthew each stand on one side of their grandpa then they take his hands, "Hold on tight Grandpa!" Olivia and Matthew says.
Hector smiles and holds his grandchildren's hands. Olivia's flower necklace glows and Matthews golden watch glows as all three take off into the air. Hector easily being held with no problem thanks to the super strength of his grandchildren's superpowers.
Albert and Sylvia's wedding rings glow and then they take off into the air heading for home.
Down below Charles holds his wife as Caroline says, "Oh Charles I'm so proud of Albert and Sylvia."
"Yeah Caroline! Our son and daughter-in-law are something else. Thank you Lord for letting our children and new grandchildren be here for us and other people," Charles says looking at the sky.
Charles and Caroline smile and watches as the Heavenly Family flying off into the distance.
After the Superpowered family is out of sight Charles and Caroline turn to go inside their 'Little House on the Prairie' to be with their own children and turn in.
It's 1:30am the younger Ingalls/Quinn family and Hector Webb are back home at their farm. The family lands in front of the house.
"Wow! That was a fun ride. You Children are just like your parents. They once let me fly with them," Hector says.
"You did Grandpa?" Matthew asks.
"Yes, grandson. lt was wonderful flying with them. Flying again this time with my grandchildren was indeed great," Hector says.
"You're welcome Grandpa," Matthew and Olivia say.
The family is inside their home. They change into their nightgowns and are ready for bed. In Hector's room Albert and Sylvia watch as Matthew and Olivia tuck their grandpa into bed, "Good night Grandpa sleep tight," Matthew says.
"Good night Grandpa. We love you," Olivia says.
"Good night my grandchildren," Hector replies back.
Both his grandchildren gives him a kiss on the cheek.
"Good night Papa," Sylvia says.
"Good night Pa," Albert says.
"Good night Albert and Sylvia," Hector replies.
Then he drifts off to sleep. Albert, Sylvia and their children exit and shuts the door to Hector's bedroom.
Matthew and Olivia are now in their own beds as their parents tuck them in,"Good night children," Albert and Sylvia say.
"Good night Ma and Pa!" Matthew and Olivia replies.
Albert and Sylvia kiss their children good night. Albert than pulls the long sheet between their beds over so they can have privacy. Then he and Sylvia put their hands and arms around their waist and exits the children's bedroom, closing their door heading to their room.
