Ash rushed outside and was glad to see his Pokémon waiting for him. His eyes glanced along the group, eyeing each Pokémon at the front of the pack. He smiled when he saw Trevenant intermingling with his Grass-Types—Bulbasaur and Bayleef interacting with the Ghost/Grass-Type, getting them acquainted with the group's social structure. Next to them were his two Tauros, standing side by side. His Kantonian one was blushing at being so close to the female Paldean Tauros. Next to them, Alolan Rattata and Sandshrew were animatedly talking with some of Ash's smaller Pokémon, such as Totodile and Pikachu. Speaking of which, upon seeing his trainer, Pikachu ran up and clambered up his side, sitting on his rightful spot on his shoulder.
He clapped, getting the attention of the group. "Thank you for coming, everybody. I'm glad you came." The group called out with several exclamations of their names. He allowed them to calm down, which took a couple of minutes.
"Alright, settle down. I have a good idea for a training schedule, but I can't implement it because it requires a large supply of vitamins, which will help improve your body. The good news is they will be here in a few days, but the bad news is I wish to do a few things before we can start any major training." This caused a few groans of displeasure from the more battle-hungry members of the group.
"I mainly want to get the rest of the Tauros traded and to get the rest of my Pokémon—or at least however many wish to return," Ash trailed off at the end, debating with himself if any of them wanted to return.
"Pikapi?" The sound of Pikachu pulled Ash from his contemplation.
"So yeah, until I know if the others want to rejoin the team, I don't think we should get into a major training schedule. So, let's go over the simple practices. Let's start with a stamina-building practice. I want you guys to start taking laps around the lab," he instructed, moving towards the fence that encircled the compound.
"I want you to follow the fence. This will help you count your laps. I want those that can fly to do 10 laps and those that can't fly to do five. This isn't a race; understand the purpose of this exercise. This is simply a stamina-building practice, so if you need to stop to catch your breath, then feel free to do so. Afterward, we will start practicing your current moves before we try to learn any new ones," he directed, his eyes on his Pokémon, glancing between each of them. He checked if any of them disagreed with his plans, but he could see the group pumping themselves up. Several of the group, such as Kingler and Donphan, or the more competitive members, like Infernape, Sceptile, and Charizard, were doing some stretches. These were being parroted by some of the younger members of the group, such as Scraggy and Noivern.
"Alright ready, set, go!" He exclaimed and with a thunderous roar the horde charged past their trainer almost knocking him off his feet, Pikachu launching himself off his shoulder didn't help Ash balance himself either though thankfully he was able to brace him with one of the fence posts before he landed on his butt.
Ash chuckled at his Pokemon's enthusiasm, Most of them ran while the ones with wings took flight though a few of them had unique methods of travel, Gible dug into the earth and tunneled while Donphan curled up and performed a rollout.
Ash dusted himself off and thought about how he should pass the time until the enthusiastic group finished their assigned exercise, his mind briefly thought about going back to research but he remembered the new app Mr. Goodshow had him download and Decided to give it a try. Pulling his phone from his pocket he pulled up the app and sent his first message.
Alola Champ: Hello? Is anyone on?
Galar Champ: Heyya! I'm here.
Unova Champ: Hello, likewise.
Sinnoh Champ: I am also here, nice to meet you.
Johto/Kanto Champ: I am bust rn but Hello welcome to the chat.
Hoenn Champ: Hello I am currently on a Wilderness Hike so I might be spotty on my replies.
Kalos Champ: I am free for now but I have to be at a movie shoot in about an hour or two so my availability will change depending on what they have me doing.
Alola Champ: Hello you might already know this but I'm Ash Ketchum the new and first Alolan Champion I'm pretty sure I've met most of you while on my journey before.
Unova Champ: I don't think we have.
Alola Champ: Uh, Yes we have I battled against you and your Bouffalant, and you fell asleep during our battle.
Unova Champ: huh really when did this happen?
Alola Champ: A few years ago when I was traveling through Unova.
Galar Champ: Haha Alder you complain when we call you old man at meetings but you fall asleep during battles?
Unova Champ: Oh Shut it! I'm barely In my 50's.
Sinnoh Champ: Still the oldest champion by 30 or so years, Lance is only 29.
Unova Champ: Would you be quiet already!
Ash could practically hear the annoyed huff of the eldest champion, he looked up as Charizard quickly followed by Noivern and Staraptor completed their first lap surprising Ash slightly, Professor Oak's ranch was massive a few miles in circumference but these 3 were his fastest fliers.
A rumble emitted from the ground as several of the running Pokemon appeared completing their first lap, this being Sceptile, Pikachu, and Infernape followed by the two Tauros. He had to step back to avoid being run into or to be trampled he watched as the small group ran full force into the distance again quickly disappearing.
He looked down at his phone and saw there was a question directed at him.
Galar Champ: So Ash what's up?
Alola Champ: Huh?
Galar Champ: What're you doing? I'm kind of curious about you.
Alola Champ: Well, I'm doing simple training exercises with my Pokemon, I'm having them do laps around Professor Oak's ranch to promote stamina and endurance, then after they finish we'll work on learning new moves and mastering the ones they already know.
Sinnoh Champ: That is a good plan as most tend to focus on power-building exercises exclusively, Arceus knows how many times I've faced Trainers wishing to battle me and they throw a fit after I oneshot their team cause of their barely trained defenses.
Alola Champ: Yeah I ordered a supply of Vitamins earlier so I'm waiting until they come in before I start any intense training with them but knowing them I suspect they'd probably up their training whenever I'm not around or at the very least making the exercises I do give them into competitions despite me saying it's not a competition.
Sinnoh Champ: I can understand the feeling my Garchomp and Spiritomb are the same way and I have to pry them apart whenever they get into it.
Unova Champ: Same here my entire team is competitive, you try calming down a fight between a Chandelure and Krookodile when the others are also fighting.
Alola Champ: Thankfully not all of my Pokemon are that competitive so I luckily have a few Pokemon to rely on should a fight break out.
Galar Champ: So Ash how many Pokemon do you have? If you don't mind me asking.
Alola Champ: Well I got 52 Tauros, 51 Kantonian 1 Paldean, A Pikachu, A Trevenant, An Alolan Rattata, An Alolan Sandshrew, A Totodile, A Squirtle, A Charizard, A Bayleef, A Quilava, A Bulbasaur, A Greninja, A Goodra, A Noivern, A Hawlucha, A Annihilape, A Rowlet, A Melmetal, a Incineroar, A Lycanroc, A Lapras, A Butterfree, A Naganadel, A Mr. Mime, A Torterra, A Infernape, A Staraptor, A Sceptile, A Unfezant, A Pignite, A Kingler, A Muk, A Noctowl, A Scraggy. A Snivy, A Oshawott, A Palpitoad, A Boldore, A Swellow, A Corphish, A Snorlax, A Krookodile, A Talonflame, A Leavanny, A Gible, A Gliscor, A Buizel, A Glalie, A Torkoal, A Donphan, A Heracross, and a Pidgeot.
Galar Champ: Wow that's a lot, But why so Many Tauros?
Kalos Champ: I am also curious about this.
Sinnoh Champ: Same here.
Unova Champ: I am also curious.
Alola Champ: Yeah while on my travels through Kanto, I went into the Safari Zone and tried catching as many Pokemon as I could, But a rampaging Tauros herd ran in front of me every I threw a PokeBall and I caught pretty much the entire herd, they then bred with each other until I have 55, Right now I am trading most of them away except for one of the Kantonian Tauros and the Paldean Tauros.
Sinnoh Champ: That makes sense but why are you trading them?
Alola Champ: Well I only ever used the head Tauros for battles so I've asked them if they'd wanted to stay with me or would prefer being traded to trainers that can realistically train for them.
Hoenn Champ: That's very mature, any idea what you want?
Alola Champ: Well as you can see from my earlier post I'm lacking Ice, Fairy, Psychic, Ghost, and Steel-Types, but I'm happy to receive any Pokemon.
Sinnoh Champ: If you want I can look around and see if I can find anyone who'd want a Tauros.
Alola Champ: Are you sure you want to I don't want to intrude.
Sinnoh Champ: It is fine Ash I'll ask around and see if I can be of assistance.
Hoenn Champ: I will also help whenever I get the free time.
Unova Champ: Hey I'm nothing but free time so if I find someone wanting a Tauros I will send them your way.
Ash couldn't help but feel honored three champions were offering to help him, he looked back up as the rest of his flying Pokemon passed him closely followed by a handful of his Land locked Pokemon, Donphan and Buizel using Rollout and Aqua Jet quickly followed behind by surprisingly Kingler and Snorlax which surprised Ash, A ding from his phone notified him of his
Galar Champ: I couldn't help but notice you don't have any Galar Pokemon, Is there a reason for that?
Alola Champ: Well not really, I haven't traveled anywhere with Galar Pokemon but I do intend to travel through Galar after my training is complete and after the meeting Mr. Goodshow mentioned.
Galar Champ: Ah that's understandable, let me guess the Paldean Tauros is from a trade.
Alola Champ: You are right she seems to be getting along with the rest of my team, especially my Kantonian one, I'm pretty sure they have feelings for each other.
Kalos Champ: Ah love it comes in all forms, what breed is she If my memory is correct there are three different breeds.
Alola Champ: She's an Aqua Breed Tauros so Water/Fighting-Type.
Sinnoh Champ: Water/Fighting is a unique typing only 5 Pokemon have it Poliwrath, Aqua Breed Tauros, the Paldean starter Quaquval, and the mythicals Keldeo and Urshifu in their Rapid Strike Style.
Alola Champ: That is interesting only 5 Pokemon are Water/Fighting?
Sinnoh Champ: It isn't the rare typing For example Steel/Ghost only has two Pokemon lines in its group the Aegislash and Gholdengo line and Alolan Ninetales is the only Ice/Fairy-Type.
Alola Champ: Wow I've always thought there was a lot more of each type but hearing this I'm realizing types are more rare than others.
Sinnoh Champ: That is an understatement as of right now the only Pure Flying types are Rookidee, Corvisquire, and the legendary Tornadus.
Alola Champ: That few? Flying types are super common but there are that few PurFlying types.
Sinnoh Champ: Correct Ash some Types are common such as Water and Normal-Types being the most common.
Alola Champ: I already knew that but the idea of type scarcity is an interesting topic, I'm gonna try looking that up in my free time… If I can remember.
Sinnoh Champ: It's a topic I find interesting myself, One fascinating fact I found is that excluding fossil Pokemon the only Rock/Flying-Type is Minior.
Ash smiled as over the next few minutes he and the rest of the champions would share random facts about Pokemon be it typing or several of their interactions with Pokemon.
