My take on how Zuko became a pirate and an unwilling accomplice to the Avatar. Frankly, he just wants a nap.

What if there was no Ozai? If Iroh was an only child. This story explores what would happen if that was the case. With his heir dead and now his father too, Iroh returns home after abolishing the siege of Ba Sing Se. Mourning, but duty-bound to take the crown. Now he is all alone, but he has to look for the future, for himself and the world.

Zuko moves to Ba Sing Sei, meets local street worker named Jin he wants to save her from herself and he's a assain. zuko x jin Aang x Katara Dokka x yuei x Suki

What if, instead of allowing Zuko to "redeem" himself because she needed a scapegoat in case she failed to capture the Avatar and/or Ba Sing Se, or because she actually cared for him and/or her friends, Azula allowed him to "redeem" himself because of what he could do for her in death?

The Sun is cold. With some secrets revealed, and others yet to be learned, Zuko and the GAang must find Aang an earthbending teacher, all while being pursued by Princess Azula and her own dragon. But some dangers are buried deeper than even within the Earth. Updates monthly.

Despite balance being restored, and peace mostly established, Fire Lord Zuko has resistance factions, and trouble in the colonies to deal with. With the Avatar, their friends, and a mysterious addition in the form of a palace guard, he will attempt to become the leader of a truly great, prosperous and compassionate Fire Nation., and find new love on the way.

War leaves vicious scars on a person physical and psychological. A firebender named Jozu is a prime example. His story is a harrowing tale of a young man seeking vengeance and what causes him to realize that there is more at stake than his personal vendetta.

Katara has a secret that even surprises her and Zuko is just as shocked by everything that is unraveling.

Asami is Aang's older sister and the Avatar's Protector. She was proud and honored to be the Protector, but being the Protector meant making a few sacrifices. Refusing to make them, Asami run away with Aang and got frozen with him in the ice. After waking up, Asami knew her duty as Protector was beginning, especially when a banished prince showed up.

Azula is ‘letting off some steam’

The war ended with no victors, only losers on all sides. As Yakone led his children through the storm to their training, he saw a figure in the distance. Before the criminal knew it, he had been arrested. Confused and scared the children are asked a strange question by the man in the satin robes. "Kids, how would you like to come live with me in Republic City?" or Aang arrests Yakone, adopts his kids and we get fluff (A LoK crossover)

When Zuko escapes the Fire Lord's grasp during the day of Dark Sun, he comes across a girl in a cage. She seems rather ditsy but also has a sharp tongue. Unable to leave her behind, he let's her go and she decides to follow him to the Avatar. Will she keep following him? Or will she follow her own path? Only time will tell.

Aang and Katara's friendship takes a complicated turn when Aang kisses Katara without her consent and refuses to apologise. Stuck in the middle of a war, will friendships be destroyed or will they find their way back and form new relationships?
