Gandalf enlists the aid of two modern-day girls familiar with the story of the Hobbit hoping they will change the fate of the line of Durin. Alison, the eldest, hopes they will too, and in the meantime, she'd like to have some "fun" with Thorin's handsome heir without falling in love. Fili, however, has other ideas: he'd like to keep her.
