Green Dragoon
A poem/ song dedicated to Colonel William Tavington portrayed phenomenally by Jason Isaacs
So lonely and misunderstood
With piercing eyes icy-blue
They hide the sadness
Reject all the madness
Refuse to give in
To sleepless nights that make you brood
Charge, charge forward, my Green Dragoon
Into the fray, your head held high
Your saber's cuts know no mercy, no,
Your pistol's aim is always true
Haunted by the past, you run but do not hide
Through victory you advance
Someone's good graces are but empty lies
The harder the path, the more worth to be pursued
Turn your pain into strength
Turn your doubt into faith
Charge, charge forward, my Green Dragoon
Into the fray, your head held high
Your saber's cuts know no mercy, no,
Your pistol's aim is always true
Charge, charge forward, my Green Dragoon
You've been hurt more than your fair share
However, the good side of life, you still can see
The beauty of nature your gaze captures
The sun and the moon, you bathe in their raptures
But world hasn't been kind to you
So why should you be kind in return?
Charge, charge forward, my Green Dragoon
Into the fray, your head held high
Your saber's cuts know no mercy, no,
Your pistol's aim is always true
Charge, charge forward, my Green Dragoon
Fire and water, they are untamed
Forces of nature, just like you
You walk through the storm and the flames
Rise from the wounds and the ashes
Just like a phoenix
In red, black and green
Charge, charge forward, my Green Dragoon
Into the fray, your head held high
Your saber's cuts know no mercy, no,
Your pistol's aim is always true
Charge, charge forward, my Green Dragoon
