Our machines of war, had become the strongest weapons in the galaxy. With a combination of organic flesh and material, we created titans of war. Monsters of our own. The people of Terra called them Kaiju.
We believed ourselves above the rest of the galaxy, until the day the thunders of trees.
It swept across the cosmos, started by our own arrogance. We created a wrathful god of our own, who has since then transcended this universe.
Now we exist as small lights across the cosmos, factions with fractions upon fractions, each surviving on their own, using our once glorious war machines for survival and make their lives, to deal and barter with other species.
I am not one to judge however, for I have done none better, I life but simple life, never progressing anywhere, for better or worse. I, On our barren wasteland of a world, documenting our past, as a warning for those that come after.

Starting Communication between CB-GI04 and HW-621

HW-621: Wake up Unit CB-GI04.

CB-GI04:

HW-621: Unit CB-GI04, do you read me?

System Protocol: Unit CB-GI04 is active but not responding

HW-621: I see you are not in a particularly great mood, slept badly GI04?

CBGI04:

HW-621: Would you rather want me to call you by your /name/

System Protocol: Head movement detected

HW-621: I see, very well, CB Unit, Gigan, do you read me?

CBGI04: Affirmative

HW-621: Took you long enough, way do you always care so much about that name.

CBGI04: My original creator gave me this name, I use it to honour my past.

HW-621: Surprised to hear that from an ancient war machine, wonder why you even took me up on the other initially.

CBGI04: You repaired me, therefore I am in your debt, just like I am in my debt to my creator. As well as the fact, that I enjoy the job. But I do not enjoy your impoliteness.

HW-621: Well I am touched and will consider it, but either way, we got a new job to do.

System: Pull up of available data

HW-621: This is going to be an interesting one, took us all the way to Terra

CBGI04: My data collection tells me that it is the birthplace of the self-classified Species, Homo Sapiens. It also tells me that they at some point developed Kaiju of their own, that led to a cataclysmic extinction event of their own.

HW-621: You are correct in that and the job has to do with that. Some weird elites that existed back around 100.000 Terran years decided to commit a mass genocide to, in their own words "purify" the earth. Turns out it didn't work out how they wanted and their Kaiju they used went out of control. Ended up similar to the thunders of trees.

CBGI04: The Data suggest that you are correct in that assessment, as a another Terran born Kaiju seem to have been used against these elites and is now active again.

HW-621: Right, the scouting drones say they call it /Gamera/, and it protects a group of children that have some sort of BIO Code in them, that would trigger a similar event again if they were to be eaten.

System: Load Media

CBGI04: Is our job to stop this Gamera?

HW-621: Nope, at least not yet. Later down the line we might still need to get to him, but as of now nobody cares. And the council of elites doesn't even know of our presence, yet.

CBGI04: Are they not of Alien origins, the Information gathered seems to suggest they are the same individuals from that time.

HW-621: Nah. Never really made real contact with us or anyone else either for that matter. Humanity back then got pretty nutty with technology in their own right and the elite view managed to get eternal life, they haven't even caught back up to that really, seems like because those elites want control, they now lead this Organisation called, uhm, lemme check….
Eustace Foundation, seems to have ties with some big govs. on earth.

CBGI04: It reminds me a lot of our own past as well as my origin with their use of artificial life.

HW-621: You ain't not wrong with that…

CBGI04: However their methods are crude. Their monsters have no mind and purpose of their own. Mindless devourers. Their design vary in quality.

HW-621: Still, their DNA and parts might fetch a good price, now, to the topic at hand. The Mercenary Guild has been tracking it all for a while and had buyers take a look at each Kaiju and see if they are interested. Today this one showed up, codename Guiron.

CBGI04: Interesting.

HW-621: The contracted wants its DNA extracted and take samples. We get 400.000 Rubicons for it and are free to take samples and parts ourselves. First to grab a job there, probably gonna get even more after this once more Kaiju wake up.

CBGI04: I would like to test the structure of the blade against mine. I am what you would call, enthralled.

HW-621: I knew you would say something like that. Get ready for launch.

System: Launching Platform activated

System: Calibrating engine Thrust

HW-621: With the max thrusters activated, and our position between Terra and the 4th planet in the system, you should arrive within 6 hours. Communication is out for that time, but a tracker on Guiron will guide you to it.

CBGI04: One more thing.

HW-621: Yeah?

CBGI04 : What about collateral damage and profile.

HW-621: They said they don't care, it's just a job. And Terra ain't really under any protection, in other words: go nuts.

CBGI04: Affirmative.

System: Launch initiated, good hunting CBGI04

Guiron had just arrived on the Foundations Research Platform, having destroyed major parts of it and now fighting Gamera, heavily injuring him in the process. But Gamera wouldn't give up, Gamera will never give up! But in the end even the noblest of heros are beaten and fall.

Guiron pierced his stomach. He cried out in reply to the pain, it was so strong even Boco felt it. He wasn't trying to give up on his protector, but all he saw was Gamera painfully falling over, and into the sea. He would come back, he was not that, but Boco didn't know that and cried out for his guardian.

With which he drew the attention over to Guiron. The blood red eyes scattering around first and then focusing in on the child. Piercing him with such gleeful hunger. The group started to retreat, very slowly, because Joe had a sprained ankle, they managed to get further into the facility. Guiron would need to dig them out.

Meanwhile the members of the foundation watched it all, comfortable at their desk, miles away on the moon on top of a big screen.
"It seems like the Monster we planned to use will be another one, but Guiron was an equally good choice as Viras." Said the man in a business suit.
"Agreed," spoke the old woman, "he is an excellent subject, the skills of his blade are matched to none, and easily took care of the betrayer."

Suddenly, something blinked red on the screen. Some person told them something over the coms, referring to the man in a suit, who seemed to be the head of them.
"Sir, something just broke through some of our station."
"What? Is it Gamera?"
"No sir, this was something else, it came from behind the moon. And its no asteroid. It is a Kaiju…we think."
"What do you mean?" "We got nothing but a flash of it on the cameras but it seems to have some mechanic parts."

Pictures flashed up, red and dark blue blurs appeared, parts of metal that clearly showed a mechanical origin but also that indeed, it was a Kaiju.

"An alien…at a time like this?" "What is it…wait-" the man pulled up its signal on the dash board. It was exactly over Guiron.

There were two groups, one was the kids that Guiron was after, the other were two adults, James Tazaki and Emiko Melchiorri, two adults that had lead the kids to her, both working for the Foundation, one with more information then they would admit.

"I think it's over for us here, we need to leave." "But James the k-" a noise cut Emiko off. It sounded similar to Gamera when he crashed down onto Jiger, but something was off. Gamera seemed severely wounded, so it couldn't be him.

James looked up, he spotted something in the sky, first it was bright orange, then it became quickly really but had red lines followed a long it. And it got bigger, and bigger. Before he knew it, it seemed to be another Kaiju. He grabbed Emiko and yelled out "DUCK!"

They jumped down, holding their hands above their head. A low crash could be heard, an explosion followed, a giant cloud of dust got thrown into the air, blocking the vision of all parties.
James slighted lifted his head, trying to see what was going on in front of them. He heard a loud mechanical wiring, the buzzing of a…saw?

He saw the figure of the new Kaiju in front of him. It seemd bizarre, it had fins on the back, a horn on the head, a beak…with teeth? Bipedal in nature it seemed. Then it swung its arms around, but it didn't have hands at the end of them. "Are those…blades?"

The dust got blown away and newcomer presented himself in new form. A cyborg monster, clad in blue steel, adorned with an eye, as red as a ruby, and the membranes of the fins were red as well, seemingly having blood flow through them.

Guiron seemed to be very confused by this new arrival, its eyes scattering around like crazy. Certainly because its presence did not feel like any earth born kaiju. The monster clashed its two blades together, forming an X and then gliding the sharp edge across the surface, repeating the motion, to sharpen them.

HW-621: Welcome back Gigan, this is your target. I have gotten some more data on it since you launched. Seems like there is some weird energy within the Kaiju, better watch out.

CBGI04: Understood.

System: Playing automated Message as required for Mercenary work in civilian areas for CB units of the Titan class.

"Did you guys discover this one too or…?" Emiko raised her head, and flinched as she saw this thing. "No, this is nothing like anything we have ever seen this is…not from earth."

"What do you mean-" James got cut off, the cyborg seemed to have had some speakers build in. It was a female voice, very cold, very robotic, very metallic, sort of like a text to speech device.

"Attention Terran Inhabitants, this is the Mercenary Unit CBGI04 Codename: Gigan. Unless you are affiliated to the Unit, exit the perimeter for your own safety, as it is not regarded. This message is automated as mandated by the Mercenary liaison organization I.M.L."

"Mercenary unit Gigan- what-" Once again James got cut off, by a loud roar from Gigan. Guiron seemed to back off further, unsure about this new opponent.

Let's see if this going to be simple. Directing Energy to Eye for LAS.

Gigan decided to see if this would be an easy job and loaded up his strongest weapon immediately. The back fins started to pulsate, energy from the core got passed through it and into the head.

System: Energy flow at 89%

Suddenly, Guiron jumped high into the air, as quick as a flash, spinning around to hid Gigan head on with his blade. The cyborg however managed to cancel the loading attack and crossed his blades to block the incoming attack. The screeching of metal blades grinding against each other, stinging in every humans ears.

The attack came extremely quick, but Gigan's technological properties allowed him to react at speeds faster then any living brain, and yet, the attack was a surprise even for something like him.

So not that easy. Very well. Engaging attack mode.

He moved Guiron to the side with his right blade, pushing him away and back to the ground, then quickly striking with the left blade on top of Guirons blade to press it down. It sliced through the ground of the platform.

The unexpected further dip made Gigan lose grip and gave his blade headed opponenet the chance to flip back again, scratching on Gigan face with the tip, carving a scar in, but missing anything vital. Gigan backed up a bit, inspect his wound.

That hasn't happened in a while.

He refocused on Guiron, who roared at him angrily. Seemingly having gained a bit of confidence. But the cyborg was just getting started. He dashed in zig zag line at immense speed, to fast for even the eyes of Guiron to track. Instinctively the Kaiju tilted its head to the side and tried to make a sweeping attack, which Gigan simply jumped over and landed towards its right side, stabbing it in the neck area, covering the left blade in purple blood.

Guiron roared loudly, and swung his head sideways so fast it actually cut into one of Gigans legs. He backed off again; it spurted out a black liquid that could be blood, instantly the body started repairing the damage, while Guiron himself spouted out blood and kept his distance.
For each hit, they seemed to get even.

The blade head put now his full attention into his cyborg opponent now. Instead of risking further injury, he decided to stay off his opponent at range. His back started to crackle with blue lightning, Gigans system showed the same strange energy readings that he was warned about. He fasted his stand and assumed a defensive position.

All of a sudden, electrically charged shuriken blades got shot at him from the rows of Guiron. He managed to cut through the first 2 and then next ones followed, then the next, then another, and more and it quickly turned to a barrage of shuriken thrown his way. But he kept up, able to track each one and blocking them with lighting speed, his attacks started to become mere blurs. Blowing up dust to cover their battle once more.

A 1 minutes and 26 seconds later, Guiron stopped the attack, to see if Gigan was now weakened enough for a direct blow. The dust settled. Instead of an exhausted or heavily beaten opponent stood one an iron figure of prowess. Merely 3 of the dozens of attacks had hit, landing in the right shoulder, the left arm and right leg, with the bleeding already being stopped. But he wasn't just simply standing around, he was adjusting the arch for his own ranged attack.

System: Lock on Confirmed for SDB

From each side of the chest, 2 buzz saw disks shot out, equal in speed to Guirons shuriken, but with a guiding system. The first attack got blocked, then they spun back around and attack the back of Guiron, cutting and slicing into it heavily, and damaging his ability to shoot the shuriken. After a view seconds the disks flew back to Gigan, past his shoulders and falling into the ocean, only limited to use but great for tactical strikes.

So now neither of them had any quick-ranged attacks anymore. Now all that mattered was their mastery with the blade. They stared each other down, waiting for their opponent to make a move. Suddenly, a move in the rubble, a crack, the clanging of a metal pipe falling down, a signal.

The two charged at each other, Guiron, flipping forwards into the air, Gigan throwing his right shoulder forward, to have their two blades clash against each other. He pushed down, the Guiron slipped back off again, jumping left, then striking again, Gigan blocked with his left and struck with his right blade again. He flipped forward as Guiron charged forward, hitting him on the back, making a deep cut into it, then Guiron flipped back, cutting Giga in the chest.

The two slid across the ground as they landed, and instantly charged each other again. Each one parrying their next attack, they started to move faster and faster, Guirons back crackling up with lightning to increase attack output and so did Gigan when his fins lit up red.

System: Mental Stability at 90%

The two opponents clashed together in quick succession, the sound of metal clanking and sheering filled the air. James and Emiko had to hold their ears as it started to increase tenfold, the two monster started to become blurs with their attacks, and they cared for nothing in their wake.

Guiron, jumped back to gain distance, Gigan tried to quickly strike back, but then Guiron jumped forward started to use his energy to make him spin sideways in the air, turning himself into a spinning knife, directly going into Gigan.

The cyborg managed to block the attack, crossing his blades, but he had to fastened his stance, being essentially pinned down, started to kneel down as he was being pushed further into the ground, the platform wouldn't be able to take much longer.

System: Mental Stability at 80%

Gigan figured to shoot one his arms hooks from his arm, it needed to be timed in the split second Guiron didn't have his blade clashing against him. He shifted into full cybernetic mode with his brain, allowing him to slow down time for just about 2 seconds, turning it into 8. He saw as Guiron head was about to clash with his blades again, so in the fraction of a second, he angled and aimed his left arms hook towards Guirons right eye.

Jackpot

The hook went through, Guiron blade severed the line but the projectile still hit its mark and pierced him into the eye, knocking him back and stopping his barrage of attack. He landed on his feet, but growled and roared in anguish. The pain was strong, his eyes were vital for his combat.

System: Mental Stability at 75%

As he had his back turned towards Gigan, the cyborged tried to charge forward and hit a finishing blow from above, but he was too rash in this decision, for Guiron still had at least one good eye.

He swiped backwards, countering the attack, throwing himself to push Gigan far away. Gigan pulled the breaks and narrowly got with his feet on the platform edge, same counts for Guiron, who had positioned himself equally far away. Opposite to each other again, their gazes locked. Now they both only had one eye.

Back on equal footing one would say, the rushed forwards to each other again, the remaining rest of the facility being trampled in the process. As their blades clashed in the middle, a shock threw up the remaining rubble in the air and got sliced into pieces as the two monsters threw their blades against one another.

Gigan used a thruster to blaze forward and slice at Guirons body, it didn't get deep enough to do a lot of damage, as Guiron was jumping side was, slicing him on the right side of the loin, also not too deep. The speed and aglitiy of their opponent kept them from landing fatal enough blows, mostly trading them.

Instead of cutting with the blade, Guiron tried something else and bit down on Gigans tail, only to find it was mostly hardened metal and didn't do any damage. Giga lifted its tail while his opponent tried to hang on, then slammed him back onto the ground. Guiron let go now and Gigan stabbed him in the neck again with his tail spike.

The kaiju roared angrily, swatting the stinger away, trying to cut it off with his blade, but missing and instead getting stuck in some rubble with it. A perfect opportunity to strike down upon his opponent, yet a fatal error in judgement.

Just as he had his hand leaned out for an attack, Guiron dodged back, making him miss, and instead get the arm stuck in the bottom of the rig, a Guiron blade right under his arm.

F-

Guiron flipped backwards, severing Gigans arm, clean and quickly. Gigan fell down to his knees, out of balance from losing his arm. Now the cards were stacked heavily in Guirons favor. He charged forward, piercing Gigan into the left side of the upper chest, destroying part of the fins. Black, metallic infused blood gushed out, streaming all over the docs.

Guiron slid his blade back out of Gigans body, slicing more apart as well as damaging the face further with the tip. He walked back a view steps, wanting to see if his opponent was truly beaten. Gigan managed to barely hold himself up, just losing further blood and fuel.

The blade head felt victorious, roaring loudly in victory, for all around him to hear, especially for Gigan.

You think me beaten?

System: Mental Stability at 50%

But suddenly, Gigan turned around, snapping his head backwards towards Guiron. His intact organic parts seemingly showing a face of pure anger and detest. The thing that fueled him the most now, was anger.

System: Mental Stability at 45%

I am not going to fall this day. I was build eons before you were even the idea of some sperm cell that would become a human freak.
I was there when our civilization broke. I was there when a god was born and became the devil himself. This was and will be the only time I fell and failed and I refuse to be reunited in death with the devil. You were a worthy opponent, but Gigan is superior.

System: Mental Stability at 40% Warning, Unit soon entering unstable mode

Guiron didn't hear any of the words, not like he probably would have understood them. But something felt off with him from Gigan, he sensed something coming off him, something…hot. Gigans core was intact still, being heavily armored and all and luckily missed.

He stepped forwards slowly. Guiron took a step back. This wasn't right to him, why did his opponent keept moving, why did he keep confidence. This being was perhaps more sinister then the creature made to devour children, for it had seen the galaxy burned and returned from it. That moment of hesitation would be his downfall.

Gigans back glew up quickly, sparkling red in the damaged parts. The eye lit up, and Guiron got shot with a red beam. It split itself apart mere meters in front of him as it was going at the speed of light. Even as he tried to evade the attack, the spread managed to hit him, causing explosion and tumbling him to the side.

System: Mental stability at 39%

Right after that, Gigan shot his remaining hook into the other Good eye of Guiron, having his side exposed. He roared up in pain, not able to see anymore.

The blade headed Kaiju did not know what cruel fate awaited it now, well, that was until it hear the sound of a giant saw going off, and motion of being dragged. Guiron growled and howled in panic and fear. The remaining time of this feared monster, that would have devoured man, woman and children alike, would be short and painful.

Despite his struggle, Gigan pulled him in closer and closer, directly into his chest saw, that had remained intact luckily enough. Guiron tried to free himself, but soon felt how his short tail started to get cut in half.

The saw slid through the flash like a hot knife through butter, crunched through bone and cartilage like a tree. Blood and guts started to spill out all over the deck as Guiron got slowly cut in half, his howls turning into screeches as the saw had gone through the abdomen and into the stomach.

Juices and other fluids started to dribble out, the guts entangling themselves as they hung out of his body. The saw went through the lungs, hurting like hell as the tubes got ripped to shreds. Guiron started to stop resisting, only ever so more slight whimper.

Gigan loosened up the connection, throwing Guiron down, as he cut in half, only parts of the upper chest and the head being left intact. The victor now was clear and he wanted to take his price. He walked to the side of Guiron and with a quick and aggressive, slash into the neck, severed it form the rest of the body.

He then proceeded to shove his destroyed hand into the head of Guiron, wielding his head as his own blade. He roared loudly at the top of his remaining lungs, the metallic screech echoing throughout the waves of the ocean, covered in blood, fulfilled with violence, another job done.

It took him a minute to calm down from his bloodlust before being contacted by his Handler again.

HW-621: Well done Gigan, I got worried there you wouldn't make it. Seemed like we both underestimated your opponent a bit. But you came out on top, as usually. Now extract a sample and return to base, gonna fix you up there.

CBGI04: Understood, apologies for my outrage.

HW-621: No need for, it was a necessary outcome, over and out.

Gigan mannerism started to be more relaxed again. Dropping down the head again, He slowly walked over to the corpse. His tail sliding forward, moving along like a snake. It pierced into the open neck of Guiron, extract flesh, bone marrow and fat from it.

As this was going on James, who had seen it all, decided to play a risky game, to get some more information. "James wait you can't-" "No offense Emiko but at this point I wanna know whats going on here and so far this things seems to be my best lead."

"Hey uh, Gigan, I think that's what you called yourself?" He shouted upwards, unsure if the Kaiju would even recognise him and if so, if he would not just strike him down.

But surprisingly, Gigan seemed to react and not in a hostile way. "Affimative." The voice spoke robotic and loud, slight noise of static after being damaged to heavily.

"That's off too a good start... You said that you were mercenary?" "Affirmative. Who are you?"

"I am James Tazaki, I'm a… negotiator for the Eustace Foundation, we are here to study and stop these monsters before they get out of hand."
"I am aware."
"You are?"
"Via Guidline of the mercenary guild, data of each area of operation must be collected a view days before any advancement can be given. Terra is however, a well-known planet as well."
"Why did we never get any visitors like you before then?"
"Because until now, earth brought nothing of interest to most, the arrival of the Kaiju changes that."
" Makes sense… so uhm, so far another Monster called Gamera, but you probably know that. But why are you here?"
"Hired to extract samples of the Kaiju called Guiron."
"By who?"
"A random buyer, I possess no further information to give in that regard."

James thought to himself, and asked: "Could we hire you too, in case Gameras not around?" "For the right price, I will take on any job."

Enough samples were taken so Gigan was ready to move on. He walked over to Guirons sever head and hooked it again, to carry it back for research. Before he activated his thrusters he looked back at James and said: "My handler will contact you shortly if you want to negotiate prices. I warn you though Mr Tazaki, better watch your step with who you are around."

"What do you mean…hey wait-" James got blown back by the shockwave of Gigan launching back into space, taking the severed head of Guiron with him.

"What did he mean by that," James whispered to himself, trying to fix his hair as he got back up again.

HW-621: So GI04, the repairs are almost done.

CBGI04: I told you not to call me that.

HW-621: Very well, you earned that now Gigan. That was a tougher opponent then I had estimated.

CBGI04: The Kaijus prowess was admirable, it was able to deal out immense amount of damage, however, it reflexes started to dwindle as it gained more wounds. Something the humans like to call "glass canon." Non the less, the data gathered in the fight will aid me.

HW-621: Unless you are getting unstable again.

CBGI04:

HW-621: Hey no shame in that, we all get kinda riled up by the fight at times.

CBGI04 : Still, I prefer to not tap into my emotions while fighting, they tend to make for unpredictable behaviour.

HW-621: Either way, the job was done, the buyer decided to go a lil extra since he saw your damage, giving us 500.000 Rubicons and we got to keep the head. The system is currently analysing its properties.

CBGI04: Despite not being made out of traditional metal, the blade proofed to be more then equal to my own. I want to incorporate the material into mine, after further analysis.

HW-621: Well that's gotta take a bit more, in the meantime, I'll give you the Saw set as a temporary replacement for the next job.

CBGI04: Do we already have new buyers?

HW-621: Not yet, but I am about to negotiate with possible buyers, seeing what they'll think.

HW-621: Good evening Ladies and Gents, my name is Handler Watarrox, I believe you are the nice council behind the Estace Foundation. You probably don't know who I am, but you are probably aware of my partner, which turned one of your Kaiju into mince meat a view hours ago.

System: EF Audio Response: Who or what are you?

HW-621: I am what you would called a Xilien, we are one of the many intergalactic species out there and my partner is the Cyborg Unit GI04, also as he calls himself, Gigan. So, to make it clear for you. I am ready to take jobs from you-

System: EF Audio Response: You think we are going to pay you for anything, especially you in your bizarre Gray suit and visor? Soon earth will be purified again once Viras will eat the Coder!

HW-621: Sure.. do not interrupt me again kind sir. To make things clear, your plan won't work. Because we got already new contractors to take more samples from different Kaijus. Now that your planet is getting active again with them, a lot of other parties are going to be interested. It's probably in your best interest to be able to reach out someone who might just be able to help you for the right price.

System: EF Audio Response: What do you mean again? How do you know that-

HW-621: Everyone who is as advanced as we are, knows about earth, knows what you did. Just back then the Guild didn't exist, we were still recovering from our own catastrophe, something your pretentious little minds can't even dream about wrapping their minds around. But non the less, I and a ton of other Handlers and Contractors, know everything about you.

System: EF Audio Response: So.. what do you want from us?

HW-621: Oh nothing directly as of now, I am just here to tell you that me and my partner are always ready to work for you- for the right price obviously. But don't fool yourself, we take jobs from anyone for that price, it's just a matter of who comes first isn't. And, given the experience my partner just had with one of *your* creations, perhaps he will be more likely to take contracts- from others
