East Blue, twenty years ago.
In a small village called Foosha Village, there lived an eight-year-old boy called Koshin, who lived with his parents Ronald and Lin. They didn't have much in the way of living conditions, but the three of them were happy nonetheless. Koshin was a cheerful and restless boy who always dreamed of the sea.
One dark and rainy night, Koshin, his mother Lin and his father Ronald set off from Foosha Village towards a neighboring land to sell milk. The rain fell relentlessly, making the journey difficult and slippery. But the family was determined to earn some extra money to improve their lives.
Meanwhile, in Foosha Village, news was spreading through the gloomy alleyways. The Navy was in the area, looking for a pirate with a reward of 5 million Berries. They mistakenly believed that the pirate was hiding in those lands. The villagers began to panic as the Navy scoured every corner in search of the pirate.
As the night dragged on, Koshin, his mother and father tried to find shelter from the heavy rain. They had no idea of the danger that lay ahead. In the midst of the darkness and the storm, the navy approached them.
A shadowy figure stood out in the rain, and a shrill cry cut through the air. The Navy soldiers, mistaking Ronald for the 5 million Berries pirate, opened fire without hesitation. Cannonballs tore through the night sky, finding their target. The impact of the explosion was deafening, and the rain was no longer able to drown out the screams of pain.
Koshin, terrified, watched helplessly as the tragedy unfolded before his eyes. His parents, who had set out to make an honest living, had been brutally killed by the Navy, a tragic mistake that left a scar on his soul.
Desperate and crying, Koshin managed to escape the scene, running back to Foosha Village, where he hoped to find help and comfort. But what he found was much more than he expected.
When he arrived at the village, Koshin was greeted by a man with red hair and piercing eyes, Shanks, a pirate known for his bravery and strength. Shanks had just arrived in the village to replenish his resources and, on seeing the boy's condition, knew that something terrible had happened.
However, fate still had surprises in store for Koshin that rainy night. While he clung to Shanks' hope and compassion, he would also meet an old friend, the childhood orphan Monkey D. Luffy, whose fate was unexpectedly intertwined with his own.
The tragedy that shook Koshin's life marked the beginning of a journey full of adventures, challenges and the search for answers about the Navy's deadly mistake and the fate of his family.
Shanks invites the two young men into Makino's bar (a green-haired woman who worked at the counter serving drinks to customers).
Shanks arrives and opens the bar's wooden doors: "Hello, I'd like some food and rum for all my crew," says the red-haired man.
Then an old man who was sitting on a wooden chair near the door asks in fright: "You're Shanks, the redhead!" Shanks replies: "Yes, I am. And who are you?" The old man says frightened: "I'm the president of this village, and you should get out of here now." Shanks, with one step, casts an aura that makes the old man faint in seconds.
Makino, worried, goes to the mayor's aid.
"Don't worry, I only made him faint with my Conqueror's Haki," says Shanks to calm the young woman down.
The young woman then goes back to her counter and serves the pirates their drinks and food, and Koshin comments: "I don't know which is worse, pirates or the Navy..." Shanks, upon hearing this, laughs: "Kid, what's your name?" The young man replies: "Koshin..." Shanks pulls up a chair. "Sit here and let's talk," says Shanks. Koshin sits down in the chair, and Shanks tells Makino to bring two juices for the two young men. "Well, Koshin, there are two sides to the coin. There can be bad pirates and good pirates, just as there can be bad sailors and good sailors."
Koshin gets angry. "I swear I will kill those who hurt innocent people. I swear they won't get away with it!"
Shanks laughs and says: "Hahahaha, it's good to have ambition, but don't become the darkness to fight your own."
"Have you ever lost someone you love?"
Shanks stops laughing and says seriously: "I once lost the figure closest to a father."
"I know what that's like, but don't you want revenge?"
"No, because revenge is never the solution, kid. I'm sorry for what happened to your parents, but revenge is not the right fate."
While the two of them were talking, Luffy picked up a chest marked "World Government" that contained the Gomu Gomu no Mi, the rubber fruit, and then devoured the fruit. When Shanks notices, he becomes desperate, as he was planning to sell it.
"LUFFY, DON'T DO THAT, SPIT IT OUT NOW!" says the Redhead in despair.
When Shanks grabs Luffy's arm, everyone is surprised to see the arm stretch out, but the most frightened was Koshin, who had heard about the legends of the devil fruit and until then thought they were just made-up stories.
"Shanks, where did you get an Akuma no Mi?" asks Koshin.
Shanks smiles and replies: "I found it on the ground."
While everyone was talking, a group of forest bandits led by Higuma, a bandit with a bounty of 8 million Berries, entered the bar.
"You, peasant girl, better give me all your booze!" says Higuma to Makino, who is frightened and says she has no more.
Shanks interrupts the conversation.
"Young man, there's still some left in this bottle of mine," says Shanks as he shows the last bottle to the bandit.
Higuma grabs the bottle and contemptuously slams it down on the counter next to Shanks, causing it to shatter.
"Do you think I wanted that crap?" asks Higuma, extremely irritated.
Shanks gets up and says to Makino: "Makino, get me a broom so I can clean up this mess."
Higuma, upon hearing this, laughs: "Hahaha, it's a shame for a man to do a woman's job."
"Shut up, you bald fuck!" says Koshin angrily.
Higuma looks up angrily.
"You fucking brat, you're lucky I don't have time today."
The bandits left empty-handed. Shanks and his gang start laughing, while Luffy gets angry at the situation.
"Those thugs laughed at you, how can you laugh?" Luffy asks and exclaims.
"That idiot."
Luffy gets angry at hearing this and says, "I'll face them."
Shanks tries to stop Luffy, but he goes after the bandits.
After a few minutes, Luffy gets to where the bandits are.
"Hey, you guys, apologize now!"
Higuma laughs.
"Go to sleep, brat," says Higuma, still laughing.
"How dare you do that to Shanks!" asks and exclaims Luffy.
"That idiot."
Luffy gets angry and says, "Come on up, you idiot."
Higuma, with one blow, sends Luffy to the ground.
An hour later, the rain continued to fall relentlessly on the small harbor near the bar where Koshin and Shanks had taken refuge after the tragedy that had taken the lives of their parents. They had received information that Luffy was in the hands of the Forest Bandits, led by the dreaded Higuma.
Shanks' band was made up of brave pirates, each with their own skills and experience. They were determined to rescue Luffy and defeat the bandits so that Koshin could be reunited with his childhood friend.
On the opposite side of the harbor, the Forest Bandits had gathered in significant numbers, all under the command of Higuma, a burly and ruthless man who wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty to get what he wanted.
The battle began with a bang as Shanks' pirates bravely advanced against the Forest Bandits. Swords clanged and cannonballs sliced through the air as the two groups clashed ferociously.
Shanks led the charge with his sword skills and imposing presence. His crewmates also showed off their unique skills. Benn, a big, strong pirate, used his strength to fend off the bandits with ease. Lucky Roo, with his impressive precision, eliminated targets with accurate shots. And Yasopp, an exceptional marksman, took down enemies from a distance with deadly precision.
The fighting was fierce, with both sides suffering casualties, but Shanks' pirates were determined to rescue Luffy. Meanwhile, Koshin watched the battle anxiously, feeling that his friend's life was hanging by a thread.
Higuma, seeing no way out, decided to run away and take Luffy in a small boat, and after a puff of smoke, the two disappeared.
"Luffy," shouts Shanks worriedly.
"Shanks, where did he take Luffy?" asked Koshin.
"He could only have taken him to the sea, since it's almost impossible for him to have passed us," interrupts Benn.
"The problem is that he ate an Akuma no mi," adds Lucky Roo.
Shanks grabs a boat. "I'm going to rescue him."
"Shanks, I'm going with you."
"Koshin, you can't go, it's dangerous."
"Okay, that's fine..."
At sea
"You know, when Shanks shows up here he's going to kill you," says Luffy, confidently.
"Kid, don't play games with me," replies Higuma.
Higuma sends him into the water. "Die... Drown in the ocean."
After throwing Luffy into the water, Higuma feels the water very agitated and when he looks back, he sees a colossal brown Seaking (King of the Seas) which, without giving Higuma time to react, opens its mouth and devours him along with his boat.
When Luffy senses that he will be next, Shanks appears and with a glance of his Haoshoku Haki drives the creature away.
"Shanks, you came," says Luffy tearfully.
"Hey, what a whiny kid you are," says Shanks to calm Luffy down.
"Shanks, are you all right?"
As Luffy says this, he realizes that Shanks' right arm was all full of blood.
"Shanks, your arm," says a frightened Luffy.
"Don't worry, it's just an arm," says Shanks to calm Luffy down.
After all this, they return to Foosha Village.
Months pass and Shanks and his crew leave the village, much to the chagrin of Luffy and the rest of the inhabitants of Foosha Village.
Luffy promises Shanks that he will be a great pirate, and Shanks gives him his straw hat.
Shanks and his gang leave the village.
"Koshin, when I'm old enough, you'll come with me in my crew," says Luffy pulling his friend into piracy.
"Being a pirate... it's something I never expected, but I'll have to become strong for it."
The two young men hear the people of the village running towards the sea, where a Navy ship led by Monkey D. Garp was arriving.
Koshin looks at the ship with anger in his eyes, since his family was killed by sailors.
"Get out of here, you idiots," says Koshin hatefully.
The sailors leave together with Garp for the port, and Garp, seeing the boys, asks Koshin.
"What do you want?"
Koshin, with anger in his eyes, says:
"You killed my family."
Garp, the legendary Vice-Admiral of the Navy, looked at Koshin with surprise when he heard his revelation about his family being killed by sailors. A shadow of guilt crossed his eyes as he held Luffy tightly.
"Sailors, you say?" Garp muttered, reflecting on Koshin's words. He then let go of Luffy and looked at the horizon. "Looks like I've made a mistake here."
Luffy, confused, looked from Garp to Koshin and back to Garp. "Grandpa, what's going on?"
Garp sighed heavily and looked at Koshin. "You're right, kid. The Navy has its faults. I can't change what happened to your family, but I can do something to correct my own fault."
Koshin was surprised by Garp's response. He hadn't expected a member of the Navy to acknowledge his mistakes like that. "What do you mean?" Koshin asked.
Garp looked at Luffy and Koshin with a serious look. "I'm taking you with me to Mount Colubo. There, you will be looked after by Dandan, a person I trust. She'll make sure you're safe and well looked after."
Koshin and Luffy exchanged glances, surprised by the unexpected turn of events. Luffy, still determined to become a great pirate, asked: "Grandpa, are you doing this because you feel guilty?"
Garp nodded. "Yes, boy. I have my own reasons for this, but I want to make sure you're safe."
Koshin looked at Luffy and then at Garp. He was beginning to realize that the world wasn't as black and white as he had thought. He said with determination: "Grandpa, thank you for your help. But one day, when I'm strong enough, I'm going to become a pirate and take on the Navy that took my family away from me."
Garp watched Koshin with respect. "Well done, boy. You have courage and determination. Whatever path you choose, do it with pride."
And so, Garp took Luffy and Koshin to Mount Colubo, where they would be looked after by Dandan, a criminal known for having committed countless crimes. Garp blackmailed her, threatening to arrest the Dadan Family if she didn't take care of the children.
Arriving at the hut where Dadan lived
"Dadan, I need to ask you a favor," says Garp.
"Garp, what is it?" replies the red-haired woman.
"You can look after my grandson and that boy I found on the street."
"Isn't Ace enough?"
"That wasn't a request, it's an order."
"I can take care of them."
"Young men, I'm off to sea now, but I've come to visit you."
After Garp leaves, Koshin looks around the forest until his gaze focuses on the bandit woman.
"Are you a man or a woman?" asks Koshin.
Dadan, upon hearing this question, turns as red as a tomato.
"Who do you think you are to tell me that?"
Koshin smiles.
"I am Koshin, the man who will be king of the pirates."
"If Garp hears that," Dadan laughs.
Dadan leaves, and the two young men's gazes focus on a black-haired boy who was standing on a hill looking down at the two of them.
"Hi, do you like doughnuts?", Luffy asks the boy.
"Who are you two?" asked the boy.
"I'm Monkey D. Luffy, the future king of pirates, and this is my friend Koshin, my crewmate."
"My name is Portgas D. Ace."
"Why the D in your names?" asks Koshin.
"What D?" asks Luffy in confusion.
"The D in your name, idiot."
"I have that in my name?"
"Just you, Luffy."
The two of them looked over to where Ace was and noticed that he had disappeared.
"Hey, where did that Ace go?" Luffy asked.
"Let's go find him, Luffy."
"OK, Koshin."
The two young men ran through the forest in search of Ace and, after an hour of searching, found him with a blond boy. They both had a lot of money, so they decided to listen to the conversation.
"Two new boys arrived here?" The boy asked.
"That's what I said, Sabo, they seem strange to me."
Luffy decided to join the conversation.
"I'm not strange."
"What are you two doing here?" Ace asked, startled.
"I'll ask you that, who is he and where did you get that money?" Koshin asked.
"He's Sabo, and this money is to buy us a boat."
"So you want to be a pirate."
"He's the son of the pirate king," said Sabo, interrupting Koshin and Ace.
"Don't reveal that, you idiot," said Ace, scolding his friend.
"Son of the pirate king, that's new," said Koshin, surprised.
"I don't want to be that devil's son."
"That must be bad," asked Luffy.
"But where did you get the money?" Koshin asked.
"We stole it from Bluejam, a pirate with a 14,300,000 bounty," said Sabo.
"Isn't that dangerous?" Koshin asked.
"Yes, but we can't be afraid. By the way, Sabo, do you want to join us for dinner?" Ace asked.
"I'll do anything to get away from my family," said Sabo.
Evening came, and the four of them were having dinner at Dadan's house. They discussed their desire to become pirates, but didn't realize that Garp was listening in, leaving Dadan and the other bandits frightened.
"You brats, what do you want to be?" Garp said with blood in his eyes.
"Garp, I'm sorry, they don't know what they're talking about," said Dadan, frightened.
"You four better run," said Garp to the four boys.
Garp, the legendary Vice-Admiral of the Navy, was determined to keep his promise to protect Luffy, Ace, Sabo and Koshin. He chased them up Mount Coludo, using his incredible strength and endurance to catch up.
As the four boys ran across the rough terrain, trees fell and rocks rolled, making Garp's pursuit even more terrifying. His determination to stop them becoming pirates was evident in his serious expression and his relentless pursuit.
However, despite the obstacles and the fatigue that was beginning to accumulate, Luffy, Ace, Sabo and Koshin didn't give up. They were young, full of energy and determination, and they were determined to pursue their dreams.
Finally, after an exhausting run, the four boys stopped, panting and exhausted. Garp caught up with them, panting slightly, but with a proud look on his face.
"You're persistent, that's for sure," said Garp, looking at the boys with a mixture of pride and respect. "But now, you must understand that the path of the pirates is dangerous. It's not just a joke."
Luffy, still catching his breath, looked at Garp and said with determination: "Grandpa Garp, no matter how hard it is, I'm going to become the Pirate King!"
Ace, Sabo and Koshin nodded in agreement, sharing the same determination.
Garp smiled and shook his head. "You're truly fearless. I don't think I can stop you from pursuing your dreams, but promise me that you'll be responsible and fair pirates."
The boys nodded, and Sabo even added with a wry smile: "Uncle Garp, you're a monster for being so strong!"
Garp laughed and hugged them. "Stay safe, boys. Who knows, maybe we'll meet again one day, when you're pirates of renown."
On the following day, after the thrilling pursuit by Garp and the encounter with the Navy Vice Admiral, Luffy, Ace, Sabo, and Koshin decided to gather in a tranquil spot at the base of a majestic tree on Mount Corudo. They brought with them four bowls and a container of sake they had found during their adventures.
Sitting in a circle under the tree's shade, they looked at each other with smiles on their faces, knowing they had found true friends and shared many experiences together.
Luffy picked up the sake container and began filling the four bowls, each representing one of them. As he did so, he spoke sincerely, "We may not be blood brothers, but we are heart brothers. We promise to stay together and support each other on our journey to achieve our dreams."
Ace, Sabo, and Koshin nodded, their eyes shining with the same determination. Ace took one of the bowls and raised it. "To our friendship and our future as pirates," he said, and the other three followed suit, raising their bowls.
"To our friendship!" they toasted, drinking the sake and sealing their promise.
It was a significant moment for the four young individuals who were determined to face the world together, overcome challenges, and achieve their dreams of becoming renowned pirates. And as their bonds grew stronger, they knew that no matter what the future held, they would always be heart brothers.
Sabo, upon returning home, received the news that people were going to be burned alive.
Sabo, the son of nobles, was shocked and outraged by the kingdom's decision to burn Grey Terminal to impress a World Noble. He couldn't believe the cruelty and indifference of people towards the less fortunate. Filled with anger, he fled from home, determined not to be a part of a system that allowed such atrocities.
As he walked along dark and dusty roads, Sabo crossed paths with a mysterious man, Monkey D. Dragon. This man, known for his radical actions against the World Government, shared his beliefs that the government was corrupt and needed to be destroyed for the world to be free and just.
Sabo, inspired by Dragon's words and feeling a deep connection to his own anger and desire for justice, decided to set sail and become a pirate. He knew that by doing so, he would have the opportunity to fight against injustice and work towards a better world.
The next morning, before setting off, Sabo met with Luffy, Ace, and Koshin. He looked at his friends with sadness and determination. "I'm sorry, but I have to do this alone. This is my path."
Luffy, Ace, and Koshin understood Sabo's decision and knew he was following what he believed was right. They said their goodbyes with tears in their eyes, wishing him luck on his journey.
However, Sabo's fate would take an unexpected turn. While sailing the sea, a World Noble crossed paths with his small boat. Filled with arrogance and contempt, the World Noble ordered his ship to fire upon Sabo's boat simply because it was ahead of him.
The violent attack caused Sabo's boat to be destroyed, and he fell into the water, near death. But before he could succumb, he was rescued by none other than Monkey D. Dragon, who took him to safety.
After being rescued by Monkey D. Dragon, Sabo regained consciousness, but something was deeply wrong. He couldn't remember anything about his previous life, his family, or his friends, including Luffy, Ace, and Koshin. His mind was blank, like a blank slate, except for his name, which still echoed in his head.
Dragon, who had been a rebel fighting against the World Government for years, realized that Sabo could no longer return home. The situation was too complex, and Sabo was now tied to the Revolutionary cause, those who sought to change the world and challenge the corrupt government.
Sabo, though lost and confused, felt a sense of purpose in Dragon's words and actions. He decided to join the Revolutionaries, seizing the opportunity to fight against injustice, even if he couldn't remember his previous life.
The twist in the story with Sabo's supposed death and its consequences adds excitement and depth to the narrative. Here's how the story can continue:
With the news of Sabo's supposed death, Ace, Luffy, and Koshin's hearts were filled with sadness and mourning. They felt devastated by the loss of their friend and heart brother. Each of them dealt with the news in their own way.
Koshin, upon hearing the news, distanced himself from the group and sought solitude. He was filled with sorrow and confusion, but he also felt a sense of powerlessness toward the world's injustices. While exploring an abandoned house, he made a surprising discovery: a mysterious fruit, the Uddo Uddo no Mi, which granted powers related to wood. In a moment of impulse, Koshin consumed the fruit and gained these new abilities.
Luffy, unable to contain his emotions, was found crying atop a cliff. Ace approached him, and despite his own sorrow, he promised his brother that he would never die. It was a promise filled with determination and affection, meant to keep the family they had built together united.
With their new devil fruit abilities and Ace's promise, Koshin and Luffy felt a renewed responsibility to honor Sabo's memory and continue fighting for a fairer world.
