This is a T-Rated version of my "A New Generation" or "A Darker Version of A New Generation." Besides having writer's block, the explanation is at the end.
Will have swearing to a certain point & mentions of sexual situations, but there will not be any descriptions or anything to make it M or E-ratings.
500 years after Tohru helped to break the Sohma Family Curse, it's returned with a vengeance with a psychic added to the family.
Our main, non-Sohma character, is a young shy girl with a tragic past who somehow ends up living with some of the Sohma members.
With the help of the girl & most of the Sohma Family, friendships will be made, love will bloom, boundaries will be broke, strengths will be created, & walls will be torn down. Of course, you have the enemies & hatred that comes along with it.
Sorry for the crappy summary: I'm not very good with summaries.
As always: I DO NOT OWN FRUITS BASKET, ITS ORIGINAL STORY, OR ANY OF ITS ORIGINAL CHARACTERS. I ONLY CLAIM THE STORY & CHARACTERS I CREATE.
Plz no flames.
It has been five hundred years since Tohru Honda helped break the curse of the Sohma family. She and Kyo passed away peacefully in their home, surrounded by family and friends eighty years later.
Then, suddenly, two-hundred-fifty years ago—after not hearing anything about it for—God only knows how long; the Sohma Family curse returned. It not only returned: it returned with a vengeance—and a new twist: they've added a psychic to mix.
The only problem with the psychic was that they could not do anything to help or stop the curse. They can only see, feel, hear, or know when something's coming; it's extremely rare if the psychic has more than one of the abilities.
After Tohru and Kyo's generation, with each new generation, the stories of the Zodiac Curse started slowing down until they stopped—for most. The main family never forgot; they kept it going down their family line.
Akito had one final visitor on her deathbed who told her that the curse would one day return. She made sure to tell Shiki and her grandchild to make sure each new generation knew.
Certain Sohma members who had heard about the curse thought they were just made up stories. And because the stories died out, nobody (except Akito and Shigure's descendants) was prepared for when the curse returned.
The main family and their hired help were thrilled; this was the most fantastic thing to ever happen to their family.
Sadly, for most of the first of the new cursed members, they didn't know what to do; they weren't prepared. They couldn't tell anyone for fear of being looked down upon and then placed in a sanitarium. In their minds, the only way out of this nightmare was to die. If they died—if they were to kill themselves; they would be free—as would future family members.
Clearly, that didn't work: the curse is still going strong in the Sohma family. However, now, they've learned to live with it—despite hating every minute of it.
The god at the time was a paranoid person, afraid of being alone. After the other members of the Zodiac started offing themselves, God found the remaining members, plus the first psychic, and forced them to stay with them forever.
The psychic told God that the remaining members would stay, but they would be unhappy until the day they all died.
The psychic also told God that in the future—a different cursed generation would break apart when the psychic of that generation gets kidnapped. The family would not see a new psychic for two hundred years—but she would not know who she was to the family. Not only that, but she will also be the only psychic to have all four abilities. Without the psychic, the family would never be complete.
Whether the curse could be broken or not, the psychic will help keep the family together. Still, more importantly, they will make the curse slightly more bearable.
But going back to the first Sohma's to be cursed:
The ones who successfully committed suicide (in order) were the: monkey, horse, ram, tiger, rooster, rabbit, and dog.
The ones God was able to stop from committing suicide and forced to stay by their side were the: cat, rat, dragon, and cow.
The psychic was also forced to stay by God's side in order to keep the others at bay because they respected and listened to them.
The snake and the boar were the only ones who didn't try to commit suicide; they willingly stayed by their god's side.
As their god belittled and tore the psychic down, the cat, rat, dragon, and cow swore to protect their psychic at all costs—even in their next life.
Just like when Tohru stumbled upon the family's secret all those years ago: the curse that the Sohma family has kept hidden from the world for years comes to light with a young, kind but naïve, shy, lost, and broken girl.
This is where our new story begins…
Anybody who knows me & my stories, knows I'm a spaz who gets 500,000,000 ideas lodged in my head.
As of these past few months I've been struggling with Writer's block, RA pain, anxiety, depression, & other issues.
I can normally get past the Writer's block within a month and the other issues within two months.
However, back in March, we found out that my stepfather had lung cancer that spread to his brain with 5 marble-sized tumors, his hip bone, & several other places.
In-I wanna say May, he got some pulmonary lung fungal infection, so he was unable to continue with chemo.
Finally, on August 10, he passed away from everything.
It's not something none of us didn't see coming, but it's still difficult.
I've been called heartless by some family members (not my mom, bf, or younger brother) because I haven't broken down, crying. I've also been told I'm just shutting down because I haven't really been typing much, & if I have, it takes me longer-or I'm just editing older stories.
& in all honesty, I've gone to editing older stories-either posted or no so that I didn't come up with more stories to either overwhelm me or that are different versions of other stories I've already started.
But in saying that, I've also been going over my E/M-Rated (E-Rated on AO3 M-Rated here) stories & have decided that I would keep them, but also, for the people who don't read E or M-Rated stories, type up a T-Rated version.
So, as always, if you read the E or M-Rated versions on anything & want to read a T-Rated version: fantastic. It does mean a lot to me.
If you read the E or M-Rated versions of anything & don't want to read the T-Rated version: that's fine, but plz don't flame.
But that's all I've really got.
