Eventually, William decided that, in some cases, the most effective way to infiltrate might be the most direct one. It has been a few days since he's been working in the restaurant, and the nearby guards around the warehouse got to know him. They were good enough lads. William didn't sense any malice or suspicion from their side, and it only stood to reason that they weren't among those that Fazbear Inc. indoctrinated and forced to sign a contract. They were lucky enough to live in ignorance. They also, admittedly, were not the brightest.

When a new party of wares arrived at New Harmony, Will volunteered to help the two workers overseeing the warehouse to bring all of those wares to their places. They were delighted to hear about an opportunity to share the burden of their job with someone else and allowed Will to join them. This location wasn't too large, and William hoped he wouldn't have to search for long. At first, he simply helped the two carry the crates with spare parts from restaurants in Hurricane, and William looked for every possible excuse to move deeper into the warehouse.

"Oi, Dave!" One of the workers called him over to one of the boxes lying near the entrance. "Come here."

"Anything wrong?"

"I think Tim missed one. Can you get it inside? You know, to the big chamber at the center and find others that look like it." The worker gave a hasty explanation, all while Will could barely contain his smile. This was exactly the opportunity he needed, and it discovered itself.

"Sure thing." Will nodded. He would've asked for clearer directions, but in case he would linger there for long, this was a perfect excuse for taking more time than one would expect. Will took the crate and made his way inside, hoping not to encounter any other workers on his way. Most of the warehouse was for technical parts, but there was one specific room Will knew existed from overhearing the workers talking to each other.

The one where all the documents that were brought in from Hurricane were stored. Of course, it was highly unlikely that Alison would place something important or compromising in a place that could be accessed fairly easily, but Will held onto hope. Maybe he decided that hiding something compromising in plain sight was the surest way to keep it away from the prying eyes. It wasn't hard to find it and do a relatively thorough search inside. Of course, Will couldn't help but always feel that someone was watching him from behind, a sense that his time working for Fazbear Inc. engraved in him with extreme power and precision, and he would never be able to get rid of it…But thankfully, none of the steps Will thought he heard from outside ever reached him.

Speaking of the room itself…It ended up being far from impressive. It was a cramped place with paper scattered all around it, an absolute mess that made William wonder if anyone even worked in such an environment or if they simply used it as a place to dump unneeded paperwork. Half of this was archive information relating to budget and payment, while the other half consisted of sketches and detailed drawings of different animatronics. Will could find a sketch of almost every character, a couple he recognized as having drawn himself years ago. There were characters from the show that never got a chance to be built, such as The Beast, Roxanne the Wolf, and Monty the Alligator. All of them are part of Alison's plans that he never got a chance to realize because of the allegations.

However, there also were some outliers. A couple animatronics that were never made into reality and didn't correspond to any of the show's characters. With how obsessed Chris and Elizabeth were, William was certain he'd at least recognize them. Those were two animatronics with a blue tint on their sketch, mostly distinguished by their ears. One of them was like Freddy's, albeit a bit smaller, while the other had ears with a peculiar and distinct shape, reminding William of a koala. Kolly and Sally…Those were their names scribbled on paper. Beside them also laid a sketch of an orange animatronic designed like a fox; though he was radically different from Foxy, much more cartoonish and friendly-looking, his brighter colors represented this distinction, as well. Tyler…That was the name he had. Who were those animatronics? Those were the only traces of their existence that Will discovered, and nothing to suggest more. Other than that…Nothing but irrelevant records.

Once again, he was forced to leave the scene with more questions than answers.

As he left the room and picked up his crate, William heard two workers in the adjacent corridor discussing something.

"Tim, I can count, there's one missing!"

"I said, I checked seven fucking times, I brought all of them by this point."

"I was expecting twelve, not eleven."

"As if eleven is not enough."

"That's what was on the order; my job is to make sure everything is delivered. So go back and check on it now."

"Fine, fine, whatever."

"Oh, and tell Vic to get the Spring Bonnie to consume moved into the restaurant's safe room."

"What, why?"

"I heard the boss is planning to bring him back on stage as some sort of bonus character. You know, play on other's nostalgia."

William decided to show himself before one of them caught him and began to have certain suspicions.

"And the bear?"

"What bear?"

"Well, Fredbear. The one who never shuts up with his songs."

"No one mentioned any bear."

"Aren't they supposed to be together with the rabbit on stage? I mean, I heard about that old restaurant and stuff…"

"Who cares? The bear wasn't on the list, and they never brought one in."

"Guess they don't want to put him on stage after that accident…Oh, look!" One of the workers noticed Will's presence. "That's the crate!"

"What?" The other took a few steps toward and checked for himself. "So you do admit you've missed one?"

"Eh…Well, maybe."

"Who are you anyway?" The senior worker looked at Will with suspicion; the night guard took a deep breath and remembered to act confident and try to be in control of the situation.

"I'm Dave, Dave Miller." Will introduced himself.

"Your name sounds…Aren't you the new night guard?"

"Yeah, he is." Tim, the other worker, spoke up for him. "Vic and I got him to help us with the wares…Not like you were going to help, anyway."

"Yeah, Vic gave me this crate to bring to the chamber, but I got a bit…Lost."

"Lost?" The senior raised an eyebrow. "It's not a branchy building, you know that?"

"Come on." Tim shook his head. "Lad has never been inside before. Let's go and show him around."

"Yeah…Let's do that."

Clearly, William got lucky this time…But it couldn't go on forever.

When Chris got to New Harmony, his journey began almost immediately. It was a small and remote town, and now it had his father somewhere among its people…At least Chris believed this. He knew deep inside that his dad was alive, and he would not leave Fazbear Inc. unattended. He would do everything to avenge them…But he still didn't know the truth about Mike and Chris. He didn't know that they were still here, even if confined to monstrous metal bodies. He deserved to know the truth, as did they.

However, it was much easier to discover the new restaurant instead of attempting to trace his dad directly. Many people talked about this all around the town; for them, this would be an event no one would miss. A once-popular Fazbear Franchise was moving into their town without anyone expecting it to happen. Chris found it quickly. It wasn't far from the warehouse the trucks headed towards. Of course, he couldn't pass up the opportunity to slip inside and see the place for himself, no matter how counterintuitive it could've seemed.

That was exactly what he did, getting access from one of the few windows in the building. When he was inside, Chris was surprised by how barren this place seemed. It was just about to open, yet it already looked like an abandoned restaurant. The bleak colors, poor lighting, dirty walls…And complete silence. Chris wondered how he would feel about this place were he to enter it while still being that naive child who was always scared of the animatronics. He probably would've been terrified. But now, he felt absolutely nothing. He just wanted to find any clues that could lead him to his dad and be done with it once and for all.

First, Chris needed to make sure no one watched him. He was quite good at avoiding cameras since escaping the underground bunker, but he couldn't do it perfectly. Once, Chris identified where the guard's office was and tried to get close to check it out. When the elusive animatronic got his chance to look through the window, he saw the guard sitting on the chair right in front of the monitors…Not that he was watching. The man was asleep and let out a loud snore every few seconds. It was an incredibly poor performance at his own job, but it served to Chris's benefit. At least no one would disturb him.

He made his way towards the dining room; at this point, any hope of finding his father here at this time quickly waned, but Chris still felt morbid curiosity driving him. He wanted to see if there was anything else to this grim place. The thought that this was intended as friendly for children was almost amusing, if not insulting.

And then he saw them.

The animatronic trio standing on the central stage, all silent and staring at the floor beneath them, while Foxy was nearby, hiding behind a purple curtain in the same position. Ennard crawled across the ceiling to get a closer look. Those were the same animatronics he remembered from his days before death. How Mike and his friends forced him to come closer as he cried and begged them to stop…It wasn't so long ago, yet it still felt like an eternity.

Chris wasn't afraid of them anymore. After all, they were just robots created to fulfill a purpose. It could be good or bad, depending on who controlled them. That they never got a chance to serve a noble master was tragic…They were his father's creations, in some ways, an extension of him. Chris couldn't hate them anymore. Not when he became one of them. He could even find some comfort among them…

Until he noticed movement. Right after the moment when Chris felt calmest, he saw Freddy raise his head as both of his eyes slid into Ennard's direction, immediately making the animatronic recoil. It detected him, but why? Wasn't Freddy supposed to be offline? His next actions were even more strange, as the bear animatronic opened his mouth wide open as if genuinely shocked. This couldn't be a part of his programming…

"Who…Are you?" Chris asked, finally realizing that the sudden sense of commonality he felt with those animatronics did not come from the shared carcasses and skeletons but something that went even deeper. Some semblance of life was beating in the heart of each of those animatronics.

"I…" The animatronic spoke up in the heavy voice of Freddy Fazbear. "Freddy…Lost…" It was as if he tried to say something by inserting different voice lines from the ones the animatronic had. There was someone inside, just like Chris was inside of Ennard. Someone who tried to break free and plead. "Alone…Away…From…The Valley…You…Wandered…Intriguing…"

Each of the words he spoke became louder, and Chris was at a loss. He didn't expect to encounter any possessed animatronics outside of the facility, but if Gron killed four children and stuffed them inside those animatronics…It made sense, as much as Chris hated it. Unlike him, they must have been restrained by their programming, unable to fight it. Chris was about to speak again, yet he heard steps echoing in one of the hallways. The loud sounds must have awakened the guard, and he was on his way to check the stage. Chris knew he would return here tonight, but he couldn't stay for now.

It was time to run.

"Are you sure this wasn't a dream?" Liam wondered as he talked to Gabriel. The moment he and Jessica awakened, their friend tried to relate the story of a peculiar creature he saw earlier, something they took with skepticism. "I still see them sometimes if I go offline."

"No, I swear it was real. It even tried to talk to me!" Gabriel still didn't want to let go of a possibility to convince them.

"How did it look like?" Jessica inquired.

"It…He was strange. I think he was like us, an animatronic, or at least a skeleton that we have inside, and he had a white mask as well! It looked messy…I don't know, like someone just broke him! He asked who I was; I guess he felt that we…That we are alive as well." Gabriel tried to make sense of it. "I tried to talk to him, but I could only use Freddy's voice. I'm not sure if he understood me, probably not, but…I think he was looking for something."

"What?" Jessica grew curious.

"I don't know, but I guess he didn't expect to find anyone else in here…"

Their talk didn't continue for long as a familiar, decisive voice interrupted them.

"What are you talking about?" Jack joined the conversation.

"Eh…A long story." Gabriel said. Jack didn't like it when they got too distracted from their goal of killing Afton, and Gabriel didn't want to irritate him any further.

"It's almost midnight; he'll be here soon." The boy said with rising anger in his voice. "He is good…But we can be better! We shouldn't give him a second to rest. We break through his doors; I'm sure we can destroy them together!"

"I don't know…" Liam sounded defeated. "We've been trying for so long now, and there is nothing we can do, even when we get close. I'm trying my best, I'm sure we all do, but he's too quick."

"He must have expected hard nights," Jessica added. "I mean, we should still try, but…I don't know if we even can break through. What else can we do?"

"Hm…" Jack paused.

"Maybe we could…" Gabriel began but immediately stopped. "No, no, that's silly."

"You can still share it," Jack reassured him. "We won't tell anyone anyway…"

"My parents said that sometimes…Sometimes, we should take a moment and pray. You know, so God hears us and gives us his help." Gabriel realized how absurd the notion was. If God truly cared about them, he wouldn't allow them to fall victim to something so horrible. He was better than that…He was supposed to be better than that. But what else could they do at this point?

"Hm…Why not?" Liam said with support in his voice.

"I think we should," Jessica said. "Maybe it will be a bit better…Just a bit."

"Fine." Jack surrendered to the majority. "But does anyone even remember any prayers?"

"Well, I think I do," Gabriel said. "It's the one my parents said…And the one I said with them."

And so they spoke it together in one last desperate attempt to free their souls.

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our final chance,

and forgive us the sin of vengeance,

as we unleash the suffering that others inflicted upon us,

and let us not doubt ourselves,

but deliver unto us Afton's death.

For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory,

forever and ever.

Amen

Another night…It was too late to question whether what William was doing was right at all. Whether he had even the slightest chance of finding something relevant and gaining enough power to resist Fazbear Inc. or whether he was simply failing to fulfill another promise. The warehouse was his only lead so far, and it turned out to be a dead end. And now William couldn't avoid the feeling as if his coming here for yet another night was a tremendous waste of time. Perhaps this feeling was the reason Will felt especially drained when coming into the restaurant that night…Or perhaps it was the persistent feeling that he was being watched. The latter became rather common for Will, and so he tried to pay it no mind.

After all, he had an important battle to win.

He did not expect the night to be easy; the animatronics tended to get more raging and furious with every new attempt, but nothing could've prepared Will for what awaited. The animatronics were absolutely unhinged, with nothing to hold them back. There was not a single minute, not a single opportunity during this night for William to catch his breath or even plan his next action. Something happened every minute, with one animatronic coming to the door after another. Will could feel his eyes ache. He almost thought they were bleeding a few times due to the constant focus and the images flashing before him. His hands ached as countless stains of sweat poured down Will's body, making him feel as if the temperature around him was much higher than it actually was. He was constantly on the brink of death. Each of the animatronics was at their most ruthless.

Bonnie and Chica stormed their respective halls, rarely going far away from the doors. They tried to confuse William, appearing one after the other, sometimes waiting at the doors simultaneously. Will didn't have any time to monitor power consumption with how active they were. As if this wasn't enough, every time those animatronics appeared at the door, their heads began to shake, with their mouths opening sporadically and in a chaotic manner. They didn't behave like souls of innocent children anymore but rather demons who wanted to break free from their prison so they could make their tormentors suffer.

Foxy changed his tactics as well; this time, he didn't return to the pirate cove after his attempted break-ins. He would wait in the shadows of the left corridor and always seek out a perfect opportunity to strike. He learned the layout of the restaurant, as well, and thus learned to avoid cameras. William only had his hearing to rely upon, and it often got disturbed by Freddy's laughter. Freddy himself didn't hold back, either. He masterfully moved from one shadow to another. If not for the faint glow of his eyes, he would've been impossible to spot. When he approached the door, he somehow found a hiding spot that couldn't be unveiled by using the lights at the door. Cameras were his only way of seeing Freddy and closing the door at a perfect time.

All of Will's power was spent fighting the animatronics. It became a reflex, something he did without thinking or talking. Like a musician playing his piano, knowing every key perfectly and not allowing a single flaw in his tune. How ironic that his actions now became far more robotic than those of any animatronic that hunted him down. Their rage was the most human of emotions, and William had nothing but two metal doors to shy himself from it.

Until the moment of silence finally came.

The moment the building's power dropped to 0%, all the lights and sounds were deactivated. The whole restaurant descended into darkness; even the constant, uninterrupted echo of the fan was no more. And worst of all, the doors were raised, leaving both hallways open. William had nothing but a pitch-black void on both sides, too afraid to even shine a flashlight there. He knew that monsters lurked in the halls; how they must have rejoiced the moment they realized what just happened.

They won.

The grave silence was interrupted by a jolly tune…The one that echoed songs Freddy and Frebear before he performed on the stage to dozens of children. It came with a flashing light from the right corridor, immediately making Will shiver and jump back. At this point, he couldn't even hold a flashlight. His hands were that weak. He couldn't feel his heartbeat, only the rhythm of the children's song that signified his inevitable death.

Freddy was there. William could only see occasional flashes of his eyes and mouth bathed in white light, but it was him. The animatronic sang his tune without moving; he played with his victim, making a mockery out of Will's pain and terror. He couldn't keep calm anymore.

"What are you waiting for?!" Will shouted while staring the animatronic directly in the eyes. "Come on, freak, I'm here! I have nowhere to run…FUCKING DO IT! I know you want to make me suffer…So stop hesitating!"

But Freddy remained silent over the next few fleeting moments. William didn't dare make a move until he realized that someone else approached the door, but this time from the left. Much lighter and swifter steps…Looks like the animatronics decided to leave the kill to the one who was most eager to get his hands on Will.

"I…Warned…Ye…" Foxy's distorted voice echoed through the halls as his silhouette emerged from the shadows. Was this truly it? Was this how William's struggle would end? To die surrounded by those bloodthirsty machines punishing him for his sins? There was nothing he could do to stop or halt them except…

William clenched the flashlight in his fist and raised it up, pressing the activation button. This was the only technique that saved Henry back at Hurricane. It might be his final chance.

"Yarr!" Foxy screamed as he involuntarily recoiled and forced his gaze to fall on the floor, but it was no more than a second before he looked up again. His rage was stronger than William's light. It was foolish to believe that he had any chance.

But then, something inexplicable happened as Will found himself in the middle of a whirlwind of chaotic accidents and twists, seeing which would've been enough to drive anyone insane. Another machine emerged in William's spotlight, this time, an endoskeleton that fell directly from the roof. Upon seeing his mask, Will immediately recognized it as Ennard.

"How…" How was this even possible?

But this was far from the end. Without hesitation, Ennard leaped at Foxy, immediately pushing the pirate animatronic to the nearest wall; both of their metallic bodies fell to the floor with a heavy clang of falling robots. Foxy attempted to resist, but Ennard had the upper hand. He pushed his opponent to the floor, not allowing him to make a single move against him. Foxy screamed and attempted to pierce Ennard with his hook but always ended up losing. William was consumed by a trance as he watched the battle of two machines unveil, but hearing Freddy's steps behind him immediately brought the night guard to his senses.

It was time to run.

Without stalling, Will charged towards the left hall, bypassing Foxy and Ennard and making his way across the darkened hall with the gap between him and the exit to freedom growing smaller and smaller. He bypassed Bonnie, who tried to intercept him in the dining room; all occurring chaos must have shocked the animatronic as much as it shocked Will. He was too scared to act. And then, William could finally feel the chilling wind on his back and the fresh air feeling his lungs. He might have left his post…But he was free.

This was a mistake; all of this was a mistake. It was pointless fighting against this organization, against this dreaded place that consumed itself every single day. It was time for him to cut his ties as abruptly as swiftly as he could. It wasn't worth dying here…He will return to Elizabeth and take her away, create another elaborate plan for both of them to disappear, move to another state, to another country if necessary, but he will make sure both of them are safe from this tyranny. Let Alison choke on his own ambitions. William didn't want to stay here long enough to see it.

But first, he will return here one more time tomorrow.

He will return to burn it all down.
