The school was the most boring place for many students if not all. You were given easy-to-forget homeworks and hard-to-make asignments, which were the main reasons why a lot of students would either bunked the classes or waited for the summer vacations. Yet, they had the responsibility to come at school and fulfill their quota of sacrificing a part of their life in an institutionalized building i.e. school.

Cash Murray was one of the many student who had this type of opinion and nobody could change his mind except himself. Though this was not always his problems.

When he was a child, he had a lot more interest in studies as he desired to become a high class officer and to help his parents. But as he grew up, his studious nature drifted. From the constant bullies in childhood, his thought about the world had changed and now, the school got another bully like him. Though he was only interested in Soccer Club, and dreamed of becoming famous through shortcuts, there were times when he actually put some efforts in study.

Then there was his sidekick, aka friend J.T. who also helped him to pass the exams, if they approached at the first place.

Overall, he was an average school kid who would bully others. Though it stemmed from his worries to not look weak than an actual sadism. He would not deny that it seemed cool sometimes, but oftentimes he would like to just relax and worry about his future.

Today was not any different than the rest, except the eventual announcement of summer vacations, that he wanted to enjoy with his family. Other than that, he had to find a target to leave his memories among the students, so they would even remember him after the vacation ends.

"Should I choose that blonde? Nah, he looks too fragile for a boy, it won't even leave any impact..."

His thoughts ran from one idea to another as his mental list of target was having a hard time to come up with something. Though he wanted to not bully today, he had to.

"Ah yes, the Benjamin. It's been a while since I last talked with him. Has he been always in my hitlist?"

Cash thought harder to remember the last time, when he bullied the Tennyson. Yet, his memories were foggy. Like, he never had any memory of bullying him.

"Hmph. Nevermind, I will just do it again."

He shooked his head and disregarded the fact that he might be under an Alzheimer-like effect by a certain someone.

Following the timetable, he went to his class and burnt some time until he would be free again. He truly hated the Maths class, as the subject just went above his head. He would just skip the class, as J.T would make the notes for him.

With enough patience, his time to be free from the clutches of school was closing in. Just a few more minutes, and then his vacations would start. And then, the bell rang. The time had come.

Not wanted to waste anymore time, he packed his bag and sprinted through the corridors like other students. He just needed to find the Tennyson and get done with him. It would not take too much time. Waiting for J.T. was not optional, as his friend was too much studious that Cash himself.

While humming about his friend, his eyes found the chosen target of today's honor.

The boy in question was going out of his classroom without any knowledge of what was going to happen with him. Now he thought about him, Ben was kind of an oddball for him.

Compared to rest of the famous students, he was an introvert and a mysterious fellow. He didn't talk much and always had a compsed attitude than most of the student body. Though his Japanese was good enough to pass fluent, Ben had a charm upon others. Despite his anti-social looks, he was far better in conversation than the school prefect. Something that Crash envied the most.

There were a lot of things that Crash hated the most in his life. Whether it was the susoended senior who took his lunch all the time. Then, there were other lot of stuffs that he disliked the most, but who could blame him for that.

Among them, there was Benjamin who had this personality to ignore the praises of others like it was common for him to hear. Such an attitude was what he hated the most. If somebody wanted to talk with you or trying to have your attention, then it was obvious to take it. Cash would take it as well, as he believed it to be the only thing in his own perspective.

"Ben! Stop right there!"

Crash would teach him the concept of arrogance in the most humiliating way possible. He slowly stepped towards the now stopped Ben, whose eyes were staring intently at Crash.

"Good, it seems that he can hear at least well."

While Crash smirked at the innocent boy, who was going to cry, the Ben in question had other thoughts. Not wanted to make a scene, Ben took the initiative to talk the way out.

"Uhh, hey Crash, what do you want from me?"

"Don't 'hey' me Tennyson, I am here for something else."

Ben, or in other words, Satoru stared at the self-proclaimed bully 'leader', who approached him with the brazen look in eyes. He wondered what he wanted today, as the boy in question was speaking gibberish stuffs about 'attitude', 'authority' and many miscellaneous words that he had no idea of.

Though he did listened his fellow schoolmate's speech with a blank face. Even in YGGDRASIL, he dud the same thing to just hear his friends out. Though he never advised them when they asked for it, as he knew that the percetion of every individual varied a lot. If his advisory brought a new problem, then it would be Satoru at risk. So, he chose the best thing to do: to hear out the speaker even if it didn't make any sense.

And so, he listened Crash's words of advice without finding any interest in it.

As far as his knowledge went, Crash was just a school bully with an insecure mind. That was the gist of his personality that Satoru had come up with. There was nothing he could do to stop him, otherwise the school would be afraid of him instead of Crash. If something wrong happened, then the blame would fall upon Crash at first.

In simple words, the prsence of Crash was an eyeshore at best, that he neither hated nor liked at all.

Ben chose to complete his academics than wasting this precious time of his new life. This was an opportunity that he was not going to miss. It would be bad if he left his future in dark without knowing the true aspects of life. This was his life's most enjoyable moments, so rather wasting time over the matters like bullies, he opted to take things slowly.

And currently, his patience was thinning. His grandfather was waiting outside and his magical granny had left him for few weeks. Either she went to meet some of her colleagues or to fulfill an important task. Who knows...

"This guy is becoming a nuisance. I erased his past memories of mine, but it does not seem to affect him that much. Better finish this issue, before he becomes a permanent headache."

Satoru had worked in a very harsh atmosphere, but the most important part of his job was patience. As a salaryman of 22nd century, his workload was pretty with his boss putting all the load upon him. He didn't like that at all and he knew that nobody would call it healthy at all. The exploitative black companies were hard to understand. Thankfully, he learnt few tricks to deal with them, in case if they became too dependent upon the low grade citizen like him.

With a sigh, he activated his aura and stopped it immediately.

"[Despair Aura 1: Fear]"

His dark aura leaked just for a moment and then, the ever-speaking Cash stopped his mouth. He fell in unconscious state at his spot like the puppet whose strings had been cut.

Not wanting to take blame, Ben immediately casted [Perfect Illusion] upon himself. And so, the spell worked. Hiding his presence from all 5 senses, he rushed to the outdoors without caring about the unconscious boy he left behind.

Coming out of the school, he searched for a location to deactivate his spell. Though Verdona had taught him well about how to control illusions subtly, there were still the lack of finnese that he lacked. In comparison to Ben, his grandmother was capable of casting magic without any word or incantation. She could also draw mana from the surrounding while doing the spar. Though, Ben had some spells that could cut off this mana transfer link from the world as well.

When he used his spell, the effect was immeduate and his grandmother approved his battle tactics as well. Just in case, somebody tried to harm him, he had the freedom to use his powers. As lomg as he was not killing anyone.

"Hmm, she has a spell that can find if I have killed someone or not. I need to figure out the spell and its weaknesses. Though I can't blame her for worrying about me."

Aside from the eccentricity of his grandmother, Ben never found her sentiments wrong. He wondered if this was how the elders looked upon their younger grnerations.
