After The Storm

Chapter 47

I busted through the hospital doors and ran to the reception desk.

(I need to know where Mrs. Brooke Scott is right now! I am her husband. She's been attacked.) Lucas proclaimed.

He heard typing then sighing as he was handed a clip board.

(Information needs to be filled out. She didn't get to that.) The receptionist replied.

(I am Brooke Scott 's husband and I'm not going anywhere but to my wife's hospital room!) Lucas exclaimed. Feeling eyes on him.

(Right this way Mr. Scott. You're her emergency contact. She told us to expect you. Before she lost consciousness.) A nurse explained.

As she lead him down the hallway.

...

A doctor soon met with Lucas.

(From what we know. Brooke is the one who called 911.)

(She was beaten and bruised. Bloody.)

(This person wanted to hurt her and they did.)The doctor explained once they reached the outside of Brooke 's hospital room.

(She's 12 weeks pregnant. With twins.) Lucas announced.

Feeling his heart sink.

(We will give Brooke an ultrasound. But she needs to regain consciousness and rest.) The doctor explained.

...

Lucas took a deep breath and made his way into her room.

He went over to her. Touching her face that was bruised. Grabbing her hand in his. As he sat beside her.

(I'm so sorry. I should of been there to protect you.) Lucas said. Emotion in his voice thick.

Brooke awoke slowly. Tears welling in her eyes.

(I'm sorry. I was supposed to protect the babies and now look where we are.) Brooke said.

(Stop it. None of this. Is you're fault. I love you.)

(The doctor said you'll get an ultrasound after you rest. You've gone through alot.) Lucas explained.

(Luke please. I need to know about the babies now. I can't wait.) Brooke pleaded.

Lucas did what she requested and asked for an ultrasound tech with a machine to be brought in.

He held Brooke 's hand. As she located the embryos. And had us listen to the heartbeats fill the room.

Brooke broke down in tears of relief.

(I know who attacked me it was Lux.) Brooke revealed. When she was back at home a week later.
