Chapter 4: Team Supernaturals and Team Problem Solvers
"Team Supernaturals?! Team Problem Solvers?! Who are those people?" Atlas asked in a surprised but confused tone.
"Team Supernaturals is a group consisting of 4 girls who may have powers beyond nature or have encountered supernatural creatures at one point of their lives. They have also camped in dangerous areas to the point where they might receive serious injuries. Don't ask if the name comes from a TV show because it doesn't. It's just a team name I came up with on my own. As for Team Problem Solvers, it's a group of 4 girls who have their own way of solving disputes that usually involve singing a song. They seem to really like animals a lot. Like Team Supernaturals, all members may have special abilities of their own." Edward explained.
"And I suppose the members of both teams are fictional characters from different shows and movies, right?" Atlas asked.
"Yes, they all come from different shows and movies." Edward responded.
"Can you name all the members of both teams?" Atlas asked.
"Yes, I can. I will only name the main members though because it's easier for me to remember who they are. First, I will name the members of Team Problem-Solvers and then Team Supernaturals. The following members of Team Problem Solvers are Dora Marquez, the Hispanic explorer who loves to go on adventures with her talking monkey friend Boots, and has all the equipment inside her talking backpack, including a talking map. Milli, the frontgirl of a mathematical team called Team Umizoomi who can create a pattern to match her dress. Kai-Lan Chow, the Chinese adventurer who has a very big heart and admires those who make her super happy. Last but not least, their leader Ella, the fairytale princess and contestant of a survival game called Total Drama who loves to sing and wants to be friends with everyone. As for Team Supernaturals, the members are Gretchen Gritcherson, the chipmunk-fearing karate camper from a creepy camp called Camp Lakebottom who longs to be the #1 Beauty Pageant after losing to a bratty blonde girl. Candy Chiu, the boy-crazed Korean camper from another crazy camp called Gravity Falls who wears glasses, is very cheerful and likes spending time with her friends. Penelope von Schweetz, the energetic supreme ruler of candy-themed racing game called Sugar Rush and one of the best racers who enjoys a challenge from her rivals and is also a very cheerful little girl. Last and most important, their leader Dawn, the aura-reading moonchild and fellow contestant of Total Drama who loves nature, likes to meditate when not active, and can communicate with animals." Edward said.
"You really gave out such a big explanation there, Edward." Lefty said.
"Hey, it's what I do." Edward responded.
"So, remind me again. What were the special abilities of both teams?" Atlas asked.
"For Team Problem Solvers, Ella, the group's leader, can use her singing to attract the animals to come to her aide, Milli, as mentioned before, can create a pattern of any kind on her dress and use it to apply on an object, can use her pigtails as a measurement tool towards said object and said pigtails can extend further. While Dora and Kai-Lan don't have permanent abilities, Dora can summon the stars from her backpack to help her do various things with her and Kai-Lan at one point had an outfit that lets her jump very high. As for Team Supernaturals, well, Candy doesn't really have any special abilities, but she can give herself one if she's up for it. Her given special ability would be either wielding the powers of a magic keyboard for serious purposes only, or she can use her glasses to translate written text if it's a language not native to Korea and/or use it for X-ray vision. Gretchen doesn't have a permanent ability, but at one point her hands glew white and she would start seeing things that will occur in the future. So, in other words, Gretchen had the ability to see the future whenever her hands glow pale white. Penelope has—." Edward stopped before Atlas interrupted him.
"Wait, wait, wait. Penelope?!" Atlas said. "Which Penelope are you talking about?"
"I just said her full name earlier. Penelope von Schweetz from Sugar Rush inside Ralph's universe. A.k.a. Candy Princess." Edward said in an annoyed tone. Atlas then realized who he was talking about and wanted to correct him.
"Penelope von Schweetz. Hmmm... Wait a minute! Her name is not Penelope. It's Vanel—." Atlas stopped as Edward interrupted her.
"NO! I literally meant to say Penelope, so roll with me until the very end and no more interruptions, okay?" Edward said. "For all intents and purposes, this is what we're all going to refer to her as.
"Alright, fine. Do as you wish." Atlas said.
"Thank you." Edward said as he continued his explanation. "As I was saying, Penelope has the ability to teleport via glitching, which was caused by some crazy circumstances. In addition, she can use her glitch as an advantage to prevail over rivals. Dawn, the group's leader, has psychic-based powers, such as teleportation, which is very different from Penelope's version since Dawn is not a glitch, telepathy, which she mostly uses on quiet people and animals, and most notably her aura vision which enables her to read and see people's aura to the point where she can view people's background. It is kinda similar to mind reading though. That said, I'm finished giving you guys info about their abilities."
"I wonder if any of the girls can possess haki if they were in the world of One Piece." Lefty said.
"Both teams can possess haki but they might not possess all three types. Some can only use armament, observation, or the supreme king's power. But they might even possess one or two types. Maybe even all three types." Edward said.
"Who would you say would possess haki?" Lefty asked.
"All members of Team Problem Solvers would possess all three types of haki, including the advanced forms. However, since the girls are pacifists, they would use it depending on the situation. They all would use advanced armament to free their animal friends from deadly, explosive cuffs. Plus, Dora and Kai-Lan can use the normal armament on their legs to their advantage when playing soccer or kickball if they want to, but they may have to restrain themselves from severely hurting their friends; Milli, on the hand, can apply the normal armament to enhance her karate skills to smash through objects. They all would use observation to sense a nearby figure or object. Since all members have royal qualities and/or ambitious goals, they can apply the supreme king's power to tame violent animals such as tigers, bears, sasquatches, and sharks." Edward explained. Atlas wanted to speak but Lefty stopped her, knowing the chaotic results fully well.
"As for Team Supernaturals, I feel like only Gretchen, Penelope and Dawn would possess all three types, with Candy possessing two types. It's fitting for Gretchen to possess all three types since she's a brawler, predicted the future in one episode, and desires to surpass an alpha brat to become #1. In Dawn's case of using armament, she's going to need something to help Mother Earth protect nature from harm. Since she's not much of a fighter, she can apply the advanced armament to free herself and her friends from deadly, explosive cuffs. As for observation and the supreme king's power, it suits her really well. She can sense a presence nearby with her aura vision, and can even enhance her aura vision further. She can tame animals and has strong ambitions to win a million to help Mother Earth. If it wasn't for a low-class dirt farmer who loves causing losses for his team just so that he can vote all his teammates to be the only one left to win the money, Dawn would've dominated the competition. For Penelope to use the supreme king's power, it completely fits her really good. After all, she is a princess and has strong ambitions like wanting to be the best racer and stuff. As for using observation, it would be useful for her to sense nearby figures and objects. For her to use armament as well, it might be an interesting case since she isn't really a fighter like that. But in Disney Infinity, she is shown to use her glitching to bash through enemies. Maybe she can apply armament to enhance her glitching. Since Candy is the only member of Team Supernatural who doesn't have royal qualities and/or strong ambitions, the only two types of haki she can use are armament and observation. This is very fitting for her since she has a habit of coming up with ways to improve the human body. In her own words, this is her 'improvement of human being.'" Edward said, finally finished with his explanation about haki.
"You're such a smart guy, Ed." Lefty said.
"Thanks, Lefty." Said Edward. "Okay, Rye. So, what do you say? Just one more game?"
"Actually, you guys can have the tablet to play the matchmaker. I'm going to use the can. Enjoy!" Rye said as he headed upstairs.
