Back to writing this. I'm hoping that this chapter is somewhat enjoyable. Still a rough draft but it was fun to write.
Seriously though please leave a comment, it helps give me motivation to write more. Also does anybody know Sasha's eye color?
Chapter Two
It was late at night when the two finally returned to the Academy. The whole time, Louise's eyes kept trying to shut. Exhaustion was taking a toll on her. It was only the fear of falling off the horse that had kept her awake. When they finally stopped stopped the stables, Sasha hopped off the horse first. She turned to find Louise finally falling into unconsciousness. Quickly she rushed, catching the petite girl in her arms. The blond woman chuckled under her breath, picking her master up bridal style.
It had been a decade since Louise had freed her from the basement of the Vallière estate. A decade that she watched over this girl. She had watched her grow, studying to figure out why her magic didn't work. Louise was intelligent, Sasha knew that. She had watched her deciper ancient tomes that were in a proto language to the one Louise spoke. She had even once deciphered a Elven book, although that was with Sasha's help.
Sasha hadn't told Louise she was a Void Mage. The reason was simple. While Sasha had no problem with Void Mages like she heard members of her race now had, Void Magic was still painful for her. Brimir had used Void Magic and Sasha had to kill him to stop a horrific event he would have unleashed. Sasha shook her head. She refused to dwell on the past. Plus they didn't even have the Founder's Prayer Book. Sasha had no idea where it could be either.
A flap of wings was heard and Sasha looked up. There on a dragon was Louise's classmate. She was a petite girl who was always quite. Sasha both liked and disliked her. The girl was too curious for her own good.when Sasha was in the general vicinity of her, she would always stare at her. It was as if she was trying to figure out a puzzle. It made the blond Elf worry that one day she would be found out to be an Elf.
But it wasn't the classmate that caught her eye. It was the dragon she was riding on. She knew immediately what dragon it was. They use to be plentiful six thousand years ago. That dragon was a Rhym Dragon. When Sasha was trying to catch up on modern day, she had learned most Rhym Dragons had been hunted down for the materials they possed. It irked Sasha, one of her friends had been a Rhym Dragon.'Interesting, maybe I should have a chat with that girl.'
A chilly wind blew, causing her charge to shiver from the cold. Sasha clicked her tongue, walking into the academy. Even in the academy the chill persisted. She would need to put Louise in her night dress, so she would have a good night's sleep. Then she would patrol the perimeter of the academy. One would think it wouldn't be necessary, as risking evoking the ire of the nobles here was a stupid move. But Sasha found that most Humans could be dumb. It was two weeks ago that she had stopped Louise from being assassinated. They came from an assassin guild called Winter Fairy.
Members of Winter Fairy liked to dress up in elaborate dresses. The men of the guild were just ad skilled as the women in seducing targets. Sasha had "questioned" the assassin. She learned that it was on of the lower nobles trying to pay back a grudge from something that Karin had done in the past. Sasha didn't kill the assassin as doing so could provoke the ire of Winter Fairy who was well established and had some nobles who funded them in secret.
As soon as Sasha reached the door to Louise's room, she opened it. The inside was clean and a bit larger then the normal assigned rooms. That was so Sasha could also live with her. A bed roll was lay out on the floor. It wasn't a cheap bed roll either. It was a high quality one made from fine material. Louise had bought it for Sasha as a gift. Sometimes Sasha slept on the bed roll, others times she would sleep outside the door, and others, if she was sure Louise was in danager, she would sleep with her charge. It was a thing of irony that Louise was so use to Sasha sleeping in bed with her. An Elf who were considered monsters to Humans.
Quietly she stepped into the room, placing Louise onto the bed. Then she called upon the spirits using her magic to quickly strip Louise and then put on her night gown. It was something Sasha had gotten use to time and time again. After she made sure to cover her young master, she left the room shutting the door quietly. It was time for her to patrol.
She walked around the academy hand always on her blade. The bandit attack from this afternoon had put her on edge. It was when she was turning a corner about to finish up the last bit of her patrol that she accidentally ran into one of the maids of the academy.
Both Sasha and the maid topple over. Sasha quickly got up. "Sorry I should have been more careful," she says. She extends a hand, helping the maid who had dark hair stand up.
"No, it's my fau..." She stops mid sentence, staring at the pointed ears of Sasha. Her face grew pale and it was then Sasha knew that her hood had falling off. Just before the maid could scream, Sasha quickly rushed forward karate chopping the back of the maid's neck. The maid fell unconscious and Sasha picked her up.
"Geez, just my luck. I just had to run into this maid. What's next Brimir resurrecting from his death, Derflinger finally speaking, or maybe better yet a war," the Elf grumbled in annoyance. She went back to Louise and her's room. She made sure to evade notice of any of the staff. She wouldn't want to sully Louise's reputation by making it seem she was kidnapping a maid. One that would already hurt Louise's damage reputation, and two Karin herself would come to the Academy to have one of the fights the two usually had.
When she opened the door, she breathed a sigh of relief that Louise's was still sleeping. She put the maid in a chair, and then rummaged around in the wardrobe. Along with clothes for Louise and her, Sasha also kept some supplies in there. She pulled out a rope. Sometimes Sasha had to "question" enemies that she captured. Louise had no idea and Sasha would keep it that way. But today she had been discovered. It wasn't an assassin or kidnapper coming for her charge. It was on of the staff. This complicated things immensely.
"Oh well, I'll figure it out in the morning. Or more like I'll have Louise figure it out." It was with this that Sasha pushed her thoughts away. She climbed into the bed roll not knowing that she would have a horrible dream. And Louise would be having a horrible morning as she would find a maid ties up, cloth in her mouth to keep her from talking. Yes this was going to be unpleasant for the both of them.
