Chapter 49

The Greatest Kidnapping

Part2

Melissa looked at the people in front of her, taking a deep breath she continued

"All of us are united in this cause, but ask yourself how far are you willing to go for it. With the sit ins you would have been arrested, sure, maybe get a criminal record on conviction and maybe jail time if you can not pay an admission of guilt. Maybe lose your job. The consequences would be harsher for some of us."

"What consequences are you looking at?" A voice called

"Since my homeplanet is now officially Nal Hutta, a firing squad after a very flashy show trail as a captured spy, saboteur and terrorist." Melissa replied

Bonita stood up

"And I will be tied to the post next to her as a traitor. Despite of the risks to us we are still here." She stated

There was a total silence after Bonita's statement. Melissa paused for a moment before going on

"And ultimately the sit in would achieve nothing but cause a delay in the kids being moved. The police informants among us would have sold the rest of us out in a heartbeat, I doubt any of us would have made it past the front door of the respective houses before being gassed and arrested."

"So what now, we just walk away?" Amelia called

Melissa lifted a hand as questions and comments were thrown at her. It took several minutes before calm returned.

"As to what is next, you have to make a choice and it is one not to be made lightly. If you take part in what follows you will have to leave Alterra never to return, You will have to start a new life on a new planet, and no I cannot tell you where and how, that is purely to protect those that decide the price is too high. If you are not willing to take part or consider the price too drastic, please leave. You will probably be investigated by the police or whatever government agency they task to it. All you need to say is that you walked away as your loyalty to Alterra or the law was too great to take part. Tell them everything that was said till you left, it should protect you from further prosecution. Or even better when the news break, go to your n nearest police precinct and report what you know. The only thing I ask is to wait a few days and say nothing."

Melissa stood a few paces back

"We are going to break for two hours to let you decide, if you walk away thank you for going this far and no hard feelings from the rest of us."

Melissa walked to where the three reporters were seated and pulled a chair over and sat down in front of them.

"What did you hit us with?" One demanded

"A technique called droid disable, there is no side effects or harm to organics. Unfortunately for you all recording devices are now non functional." Melissa replied

"No side effects? Then how do you explain the orgasm I had." The reporter lifted an eyebrow

Melissa looked thoughtful for a moment

"So that is what the gatekeeper meant by unexplained organic interactions. Huh, interesting." She said musingly

She shook her head before giving the three her full attention

"To business then. I do not know how you found out about this meeting and I do not want to. The question is, are you willing to wait a few days for the story that will make you household names." She stated

"How can a sit in or whatever you are planning make us household names?" The second asked

"By providing you proof of fraud, corruption, racketeering and systemic child abuse and endangerment by the department of Social welfare, that is not including a list of all the crimes and vices of the administrators in each home. There is also child trafficking." Melissa replied

Melissa leaned back in her chair

"Of course I could be spinning you cantina tales, ask yourself is the possible rewards worth the risk?"

"Should we take your offer, what conditions do we have to work under?" The first reporter asked

"No contact with your offices till I tell you at most six days, that will mean you will be staying in deep cover for that period, no giving details on the identities of those participating, nothing that could compromise their identities. Myself, you can tell everyone that which you want. As a show of good faith, My surname is Plant. You will find references to me in the constabulary database of Lothal."

Melissa stood up

"Take your time and think it over, if you stay you will be in for the long haul."

"Do you have any proof you can provide now of these allegations that you can give us now? As another show of good faith, you are asking a considerable amount from us."

Melissa produced a datapad and handed it over

"Five of the house involved had their fire escapes removed and the fire doors welded shut, their fire suppression and detection systems are non functional except on the administrator level. Yet invoices for twice yearly inspections and repairs were issued and compliancy documentation were presented. You will also see repair bills for janitorial droids, yet the children do the cleaning as the dataclips will show, The security cameras are non functional except for the administrator levels and the refresher rooms. Now ask yourself why are there cameras there and where does that footage go?"

Melissa left them to go through the data she had provided them. Bonita and Sukura were standing by the forklift, Greitha and Amelia having joined them. Melissa noted a slow trickle of people leaving the door. Bonita flicked her head towards it

"How many do you think will stay?" She asked

"About a third." Melissa replied

"And it will be those of us with nothing to lose." Greitha remarked

Melissa nodded at that. Bonita cocked her head in a querry

"To be honest I thought the two of you would already be gone. Being cops and all" She stated

" Cops that are not getting promotion despite having passed all the necessary exams and have the necessary experience, cops being kept on the graveyard shifts while the others are rotated and posted on the most dangerous beats." Greitha answered

"Cops that have been denied leave or is frequently called back once it is granted. Cops that have IA breathing down our necks simply for being in a precinct despite being scrupulously clean and conscientious." Amelia added

"Why is that?" Sukura asked

"Simply we do not have connections or the protection that connections bring." Greitha shrugged

Greitha pointed around the room

"The ones that have something worth staying for have already left or did not show up at all. The ones leaving now are the ones having second thoughts."

Melissa noted the reporters trying to draw her attention and she walked back to them

"We are in." One spoke for all of them.

Two hours later a much reduced group was given an address where to reconvene with said instructions that once they arrived there no further movement will be authorised, they were also adviced to be really sure of their decisions as this will be the last chance to walk away.

Melissa was scanning the streets with macro binoculars as the slow trickle of people made their way to the rendezvous point most carrying several cases with them, in some cases they brought their families with them , though they were the absolute minority.

"Tango one to Two, Three, Four, Five check in." She said over her comlink

"Two no complications."

"Three, I have had a cruiser go by twice looks like a standard patrol."

"Three keep an eye on it, best not to assume anything." Melissa replied

"Four, a bunch of vagrants in my sector, no suspicious movement. Will keep my eyes open."

"Five, all quiet."

Melissa turned around to face the man that had climbed the stairs to get to her level. He seemed surprised by her action as he had tried a stealth approach.

"News from your boss?" Melissa asked

"Apart from keeping the cops out of your hair for now, nothing. Those that left are under observation as is the subjects already under watch. You are costing the revenue service quite a lot with all the overtime being pulled now."

"Doing my bit for the local economy. So what brings you up here?" Melissa shrugged

"Curiosity. Why did you not throw me out after yesterday? Having a spy in your midst is taking a big risk after all." He asked

"You are working for the benefit of Alterra, and indirectly so am I. I know you are reporting back to your superiors and will continue to do so when we get to where we are going. Having an indirect link to another government will be useful for the planet we are going to if only as a means of informal diplomacy. So don't worry there will be no airlock incidents or accidents. Are you allowed to give a name now?" Melissa replied

"You can call me Jason Savage." He replied

He gave a small salute and turned to walk away. Melissa waited for a count of five before speaking

"Tell your team not to get too comfortable downstairs, we will be moving once again shortly. And tell your sniper friend that my offer to shake her crane was in good fun."

"Bronika will not believe that, she took your finding her very personally." Jason replied wryly

"Are we going to have a problem?" Melissa asked

"Once I tell her you are actually force sensitive, no. Being detected by a Jedi through the force is unavoidable. She would be upset if you spotted her in another way though." Jason answered

"Best not tell her that wearing standard green uniform while on a yellow crane is a bit of a give away, she would have been better of with a SWAT black uniform." Melissa shrugged

"I agree, keeping that to ourselves is best then."

Melissa returned to watching the streets again, hearing the man descending much more loudly than when he had come up.

Bonita pushed her plate back with a satisfied sigh.

"It is good that you send us back to get the kitchen equipment from Eliara's ex restaurant, I honestly was not looking forward to living on MRE's." She stated, releasing a soft belch

"An army marches on its rations as my instructors told us during a class on logistics." Melissa answered

"You actually stayed awake for that lecture?" Bonita asked, surprised

"Of course, I was a model cadet." Melissa replied

A call came from the watcher on sentry duty by the windows

"We have two delivery transports coming this way." She called out

Melissa closed her eyes and concentrated before opening them , a surprised expression on her face.

"Did not think they would come along." She stated, incredulously

"Who?" Bonita demanded

"Several someones whose names I will have to be very careful to hide." Melissa replied enigmatically

" So no clues then?" Bonita wheedled

"I will tell you once all this is done. Though some you already know" Melissa replied

Melissa flicked her head to where the three reporters were seated with the two accountants going through the data they had copied from the main database, the three were looking up in anticipation as they heard the commotion. Melissa pushed her plate back and stood up

"Well, let us go greet the critical component of the plan."

Melissa and Bonita opened the doors and the transports entered the current warehouse they were using and pulling up to the side where their own two transports were standing. Melissa noted that Jason and a brunette woman made their way surreptiously closer and another three closed in on the reporters. Bonita was shocked as her in laws were among the first to step from the transports, she looked over to the table where Sukura was now very studiously examining her plate of food, tail and ears drooping as she anticipated a very difficult lecture coming her way.

Melissa frowned slightly as she counted the new arrivals The four in laws and another five made their way over.

"Is that not your grandmothers?" Bonita whispered in her ear

"Yep. I sense quite a few lectures in our futures." Melissa sighed

Melissa walked over to the approaching group and nodded to them in greeting

"Malik, Cassus, grandmothers and mothers and father." She stated

She paused for a moment and addressed the last woman

"Sorry I never got your first name and using surnames is currently not optional." Melissa stated

" Miniera." She gave her name.

Cassus clapped his hands together and wrung it together for a moment.

"Let us have a drink and you can explain your plan."

Melissa pointed to the table and nodded and lifted her hand to draw the attention of Eliara and her husband by the grill, She flashed a hand four times at them and the two nodded and started preparing the food. Making a motion with her hand she pulled a barrel over to the table with the force and put it in the edge of the table. Finally she motioned Jason to the table.

Marina lifted an eyebrow as he walked closer

"Our secret Service agent. I will explain fully later." Melissa answered the unasked question

"Sounds like quite a tale to be told." Miniera dryly remarked

The group settled at the table, Sukura quickly bracketed between Kali and Sheba. The group waited till they were served their food and had filled glasses before Melissa spoke

"I was hoping there would be more of us coming." She stated

"There are more, they are getting supplies from sporting goods stores and a few fleet surplus stores and other merchants, they will be along later. We could not bring anything distinctive with us." Marina replied.

Cassus drained his glass in one swallow and refilled from the barrel.

"So young one, what adventure have you planned for us." He asked amiably, bringing his second glass to his mouth.

Gas hissed as it was pumped into the room, two black clad figures kneeling to the sides of the door. One was counting down on his fingers before slicing the door console. The two silently slipped into the room. There was a moment of blue light as the man slipped a visor over his face and it lit up. Looking around the room he pointed to a corner. Pulling the floor cover back revealed a safe. Moments later it was sliced open and the contents scanned and recorded, the units work monitor was next. The mans hands tightened as he read some of the data from the hacked data

"You sure we can not kill this hutuun now." He spoke softly, but harshly

"As much as I want to, no. He will get his and soon. If not we can come back for a hunting trip." His female companion promised

"Can not happen soon enough, next room?" He said.

Undisclosed Warehouse, Toprawa

Melissa stood on the table and looked over the sea of faces before her.

"Today is the big day. It is fitting that today is Liberation day, for today we liberate those who depend on us for their well being and protection." She called out

She nodded to Bonita who slid her datapad onto the table and a hologram of a medium cruiser appeared.

"Also fitting that today we liberate a part of Alterra from a fate a ship of her stature does not deserve. Ladies and gentlemen I present the heart of Alterra, our ride off world."

There was a moment of shocked silence as this was revealed. Bonita pressed a tab and the hologram was replaced by a map of Toprawa. The orphanages marked in red. A pulsing blue marker marked the department of transportation. Melissa jumped of the table and paced in front of the group.

"You might have noticed that several of our number is not present. Half is with the children keeping them safe and getting them ready. The other half is securing the transports for the move at the department of transportation. We all will be moving directly to the Toprawa Salvage and Repair yards and getting our ride ready for take off."

Melissa pointed to the back.

"Those with engineering and mechanical experience that is Jack, he actually worked in the Harts engine room, he will be your leader. The flight crew will be Marina, Sukura, Bast, Sheba, Bonita, Malik, Ishigo and Miniera. The rest of us will move about as needed and staying with the kids."

Bonita stepped forward

"Right people, this is it. There is no turning back after this. If you have second thoughts speak now and we will leave you here, no harm no foul. Just step into the managers office and wait till we leave before doing so yourself."

Ten people moved to the office and stepped in. No one noticed Malik leaning against the wall a gas canister standing next to him, A quick nudge on the tap had a slight blue haze running along a clear tube into the office. Shifting his body he depressed a switch and heard the door lock. He nodded to Melissa after a few moments.

"Right people, get to your rides, we are out of here." She called

Toprawa Salvage and Repair yard

The extra security gaurds noted four fuel supply vehicles move closer to the Hart of Alterra. Three red and one blue, the blue marking it as a Coaxium tanker, the vehicles laying out refuelling lines as they went.

"You heard anything from the bosses about this?" One asked his colleagues

"Nothing on the work orders except keep everyone away from here till after Liberation day." Came the reply

Two blonde women dressed in fire crew suits was walking rapidly closer. Idly the guards noted that the suits were tight fitting and not fully closed up as per regulation, revealing tantalising glimpses of cleavage as they moved. The two women stepped into the guard hut, moments later there hands were filled with blaster pistols. Blue flashes pulsed for a moment in the room before the two women stepped out, one raised a comlink to her mouth

"We are clear, refuel can proceed once we are connected." She stated

In the fuel yard another two women were finishing tying the last of the skeleton crew to the railing of the walkway running over the fuel tank. The crew chief feigning unconsciousness as he desperately tried to memorise as much details as he could. However the two were dressed in Alterran Army fatigues and was wearing combat helmets, masking their faces and hair, their blasters run of the mill weapons obtainable from anywhere a blaster could be bought, they also communicated in a sign language making it impossible to guess from where they were from.

On hearing a comlink message they walked over to the master terminal and switched on the pumps to standby. Another message fifteen minutes later had the pumps activating and push fuel through the connecting lines.

A convoy of transports and a landspeeder was approaching the main gate and came to a stop before the guard house. A robed figure stepped from the landspeeder and approached the guard house.

"The Jedi has finaly come to do that search we were warned of." One guard spoke in the comlink to the main security office

"Good, let them through once you log their details."

The Jedi approached holding a datapad

"All our names are on here, no need for further checking." She said handing the pad over

"All the names are here, you can proceed." The guard spoke.

" Where is the main security office?"

"The basement of the admin building."

"Open the gate and let us through."

The guard opened the gate and the transport moved through, the robed figure stayed by the landspeeder

"Let your control room know I am bringing my work crew manifest to them."

The guard lifted his comlink

"Control, the Jedi is bringing the work crew manifest directly to you, have someone meet her at the door."

"Are you too lazy to do your job again?" The rejoinder came

"She is insisting on doing it this way." The guard responded

"Whatever, send her over."

The guard handed the datapad back

"Go take a nap, you are very tired. No one will say a thing."

The guard yawned and made his way back to the hut as the last vehicle entered through the gatepost and the gate was closing behind the landspeeder.

Idars woke up to the noise of people moving around, more correctly a mass of people moving around. He stumbled from his bed and made his way to the door. Touching the control pad by his door he tried to open the door to see what was going on now. A massive headache not improving his mood in any way. The door refused to open. In fact nothing happened when he touched the pad. The LED of the power indicator was dead. With a curse he made his way back to his room only noticing now that his room door was stuck open, looking at his bedside he could not find his comlink. Stepping forward he felt a pain as he stopped on something. Stepping back he looked down. His comlink was scattered in pieces on the ground in front of him, moving to his office his work terminal screen was black and again the power light was not on. He moved to the window and gasped in shock.

The brats under his purview were happily climbing into transports parked outside. Impotently he banged on the window. One noticed him and pointed to his window. They waved to him as they stepped onto the transport, a few pausing to moon him as they stepped onto the transport. The transport moved away as the last one boarded. He stumbled back to his office and found a flimsy taped to his chair. A simple message on it

"Justice has come due, prepare to reap what you have sown."

Five hours later the door to his room opened as it was forced open and police and rescue personell flooded into his room. Idars was seated at his desk, blindly staring at the flimsy in front of him.

Alterra Air Force traffic control

The colonel on duty noted the time as the last flight went over the capital building in the flyby parade.

"Mam, we have a new contact." An operator called

"Impossible. Check IFF." She ordered

"IFF marks it as the Heart of Alterra" Came the reply

"This is no time for practical jokes, the Heart was decommissioned last week." She snapped

"Well, Mam, she is currently in the air and gaining altitude, rapidly." The technician replied

"Ship not responding to hails, mam." A coms technician called out

The colonel rushed to the terminal and looked at the blinking icon displaying the IFF tag.

"Red alert, we have a rogue ship. Scramble the field." She ordered

"Mam, all flight ready crews are deployed already in the parade, as per protocol none are carrying munitions, we have no armed interceptors ready."

"Warn Joint Forces command. Contact Palace security, have them secure the Premier and the ministers in the bunker." She called out

"Yes, mam."

"Try to rise the other fields, someone must have a flight ready squadron somewhere." She continued, "Keep hailing the Heart. Pull back the squadrons for refuel and arming."

The air raid siren started screeching as she pressed the red button. Ground crew looked towards the tower in confusion. The intercom came online

"Attention base, we have a rogue craft. Prep all fighters available. Pilots to the ready room. This is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill."

The air raid siren continued its screeching cadence. The Colonel stepped into the command office and looked at the terminal in front of her waiting for the inevitable call from high command.

Toprawa Government palace

Premier Novar was politely listening as the Alderaan Ambassador was pontificating about the recent turmoil in the outer rim, more specifically the Arkaxis incident. It was almost with relief as she noticed her security detail rudely pushing through the crowds. The head of detachment, gently took her arm and bent forward to speak in her ear

"Madam Premier, there is a security risk we have to move to the bunker." He spoke in her ear,

She nodded in acceptance and the agents pulled their side arms as they encircled her and moved her from the room at a fast clip. The foreign dignitaries standing in confused shock as she and her ministers were moved to a dedicated turbolift.

Her chief of staff was waiting in the turbolift as she stepped on and the lift dropped rapidly. She felt nausea as the internal gravity projector could not keep up with the sudden drop. As the door opened after a few minutes of rapid falling she was pulled by her arm from the turbolift and rushed to the bunker, reds lights flashing along the passageway. As she passed security staff were setting up barricades armed with heavy weapons,

She was finally led to a plasteel cube and the agents formed a perimeter around it. Sitting down gratefully she turned to her Chief of staff.

" Triana, what is going on?" Novar demanded

"Kader airfield called in a red alert, ten minutes ago they picked up a rogue signal. Identification Friend Foe marked it as the Heart of Alterra, all attempts at communications failed." Triana Sengh replied

"How long till the Air Force intercepts?"

"Mam, they are scrambling, all available flights were in the parade and none are carrying ordinance. At this point the only thing our airborne craft can do is try to ram them. We have two squadrons lifting off on the far side of the planet but…."

"By the time they get here it will be too late." Novar finished for her

"Yes, Mam. Current trajectory has the Heart moving away from Toprawa towards the atmosphere."

"So they are either stealing the ship or getting ready for a terminal drop from atmosphere. Activate plan Epsilon , get our critical personal to safety and have the shelters activated." Novar sighed

Air raid sirens never used since the mandalorian war began wailing all over Toprawa. Emergency service personell moved to the closest public bunkers to assist the civilians congregating towards them. A large portion of the populace stayed in their residences, making it off as a useless drill.

Novar shrugged her jacket off as she sat down behind the dedicated terminal in her cube and started going through the datafeed after logging in. Triana stepping from the cube and started organising the rest of the office staff as they were the last ones into the bunkers and the doors sealed. Novar frowned as two sections of the terminal remained blank. Triana stepped back into the cube

"Why do we not have information from Joint Command and the civilian response services?" Novar demanded

Triana thought for a moment and tapped on her datapad, before groaning

"I believe I have the answer, Mam, and you are really not going to like it."

"Go on."

"The High Admiral Fleet, Flight General, General of the Army, General of the Rangers were in the palace with their command staff. They are all in bunker two."

"Are you seriously telling me our armed high command is currently unavailable to discharge their duty?"

"Yes, Mam. The commissioner of Police, Fire Chief and Director EMS is also in bunker two with the deputy Mayor and Mayor."

Novar pinched her forehead in frustration

"So no one is in charge above ground?"

"Apart from division commanders and administrators, no, Mam." Triana replied

"And most of those are probably drunk or otherwise unavailable as today is a public holiday." Novar sighed again "How the hell did this clusterkriff happen? Surely there should be precautions against this type of thing happening."

"The last update to the emergency plan was done by the previous administration and since this is your second month in office we have not gotten to review the plans."

"Even then there should be someone in control. Especialy Joint Command."

The Joint Command terminal lit up. Novar wanted to start cursing as a blurred figure appeared on it

"Premier Novar, As Joint command is unable to activate Alterra Secret Service has taken control of Joint Command under section fifty nine of the Armed Service act regarding inability to discharge duty. We are standing by for your orders."

"Director M, what is your status?"

"We are at full capacity. All divisions and units accounted for."

Novar rubbed her face with her hands before sighing

"Under section fifty nine, I give permission for your department to take over in the interim of this emergency."

"Very well, Premier."

Moments later the civilian terminal lit up, the datafeed showing black clad operators moving about between the technicians. Novar stood up from the terminal and walked to the far edge of the cube, Triana joining her

"Is it just me, or was Director M and his department a little bit too efficient?" Triana remarked

"Considering that we do not know what he or she looks like never mind is, difficult to say. But yes, my banthacrap metre is also going off." Novar replied.

Triana's datapad beeped as she received an update. Looking down she read it

"The Heart of Alterra went into hyperspace, preliminary trajectory suggests the Vergari traderoute." She reported

"Then let us get out of here and start fixing this mess." Novar replied

The door to the cube hissed open and the head of the protection detail stepped in and got to attention.

"I am ready to go, Marsin." Novar informed him

"Mam, I am afraid that will not be possible." Marsin stated apologetically

"Explain." Novar snapped

"The door is on a seventy two hour timer, it can only be overridden from the Joint Command terminal using the biometric scans and passwords of the High Admiral Fleet, Flight General Fleet and General of the Army."

"All of which is currently in the second bunker." Novar added

"Yes, Mam."

Novar pounded on the wall of the cube

"So we have no working government as all the ministers are currently being taken to site B and C under blackout protocols, our Vice Premier is on Coruscant, and our armed services and civilian services are under command of our spy service." She stated incredulously

"In essence yes, Mam." Triana answered

"Does anyone want to add another layer to this shit sandwich, or are we done for the day?" Novar asked

There came a tapping on the cube wall and Novar groaned as the press secretary motioned that he needed to speak urgently

"That was not an invitation." Novar muttered

A rotund and balding man scurried into the room waving a datapad

"Mam, we need to make an urgent press appearance." He stated

"I assume the press is making up their usual tales of doom and gloom." Novar replied

"For the most part, yes."

"You said for the most part." Triana jumped on the statement

"Alterra Daily, channel twelve seventeen and Alterra Entertainment are running a secondary story alledging malfeasance in the department of social welfare." He answered

"There is always allegations of misconduct against departments, what makes these allegations so critical?" Novar asked

"They claim they have proof that will necessitate the closing of the department on a city wide level. Twelve seventeen is scheduled to start a special expose documentary in the next hour. All three stations are also somehow showing footing footage of the Heart of Alterra taking off from the salvage yard. They claim it is a part of their allegations."

Undisclosed Location, Toprawa Alterra.

Three men were looking down on the command centre floor through a highly tinted plasteel window. Technicians were scurrying to and fro in an organised chaos, a general hubbub of noise breaking through to the office from below.

One reached into his pocket and pulled a pile of credits from it, before thrusting it towards the man standing in the centre

"Definitely the last time I am betting against you." He muttered.

The man chuckled as he pocketed his winnings

"Till the next time you believe I have lost my touch, as I have said many times before electronic espionage has its time and place but it will never replace the man on the ground."

"There was no need for you step out of the office and go talk to that girl."

The man turned around and walked to his desk

"As director it is my prerogative to assigns cases as I see fit. Stepping out in the field may do my department heads some good as well. As this proves."

"Sir, going along with her plan was a massive gamble." The third man commented

"With no risks and downsides for us and nothing tying us to her as she very well knew." The director replied

"What I don't get is, why?" The first man spoke

"Why go along with it? This was mad type of plan that comes along only once a generation, this might very well be the kick in the nethers this government needs to take Alterra's security more seriously. If not this brings us closer to the spiderweb trying to subvert Alterra for the cartels and the corporate conglomerates. Alterra Invincible, first and foremost always gentlemen. Now I believe agent Nightsong's expose is due to start shortly, let us see how much she shakes the web with it."

The three men took their seats and turned their attention to a large holoviewer

"What do you make of Nightsongs request to be reassigned to shadowing our rogue orphan in the future?" The third man asked

"That I do not want to know what she did to make the planet move for our operative when she got rid of the surveillance equiptment. If I did not know better I would have thought she was Zeltron." The director dryly replied

"Quartermaster is actually adamant we find out, his department is taking it personally that their equipment got disabled so easily."

The second man coughed to draw attention

"I have had an idea for a new initiative, it is still a bit rough though."

"Go on." The director stated

"With the chaos that is going to ensue it has occured to me that we have a golden opportunity to recruit the next generation early. We sift through the orphans and pick the best and brightest and move them to a new facility well outside of the city and start their training under the guise of an exclusive new school, we can also check in the juvenile correction system for cadets that fit a specific profile."

"Catch them early and have more time for extensive training, that does have merit." The director mused
