Returning from his information gathering mission, Raye entered his house and found Naomi Misora in the living room, with an exhausted facial expression.

Turning to the noise, Naomi saw her fiancée and smiled, which only caused Raye's guilt to grow.

Unfortunately, he had no one else to trust, so she had to go through this with him. He didn't want to hide anything from her, which is why he revealed the Life Note.

Putting his clothes on the rack, Raye hugged the sitting woman and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead.

Naomi could sense Raye's thoughts, and reassured him in a soothing voice, "Don't worry, I am thankful that you involved me. Without me, you would remain dead, which would be counterproductive towards our aspirations of a family."

Despite smiling, Naomi's fatigue was evident by the dark circles under her eyes.

'She can't keep this up. No, even I can't keep this up. I'm barely getting enough sleep and my eating habits have become increasingly worse. Mentally and physically, I have become weak. Sigh. The sooner we catch Kira and his accomplices, the sooner we can return to our normal lives.'

Can a world really return to simplicity, after the flow of was forcibly altered? Probably not.

Standing behind Noami, Raye watched her fingers flashing across the keyboard, analyzing the rows and rows of data flashing across the screen.

"Found it. That woman's name is Misa Amane, a star model. There is nothing unique about her. Eh? Wait a minute." Noami paused and looked at a sealed file, one created under the orders of the court, "Let's see. Mm, her family members were murdered around a year ago, and the perpetrator was acquitted of his crimes. Coincidentally, once Kira appeared, that person was killed."

"So what do you think?"

Reclining on her computer chair, Noami turned and looked at Raye, "We are at least 70% sure that Light Yagami is Kira but we have no idea who the Second Kira is. But if you think about it, the Second Kira has to be connected to the first, in a way for them to want to help him. What other way is there other than to kill the murder that killed her parents?"

Raye sighed and shook his head,"While I would love to believe this, this doesn't mean anything. Many people were "saved" by Kira, meaning the suspects for the Second Kira, are just as high. However, just the fact she is Light Yagami's girlfriend is reason enough to investigate her."

"Just keep in mind what I said. Even though it's not guaranteed, don't lower your guard. Anyway, are you sure we will be able to catch Light Yagami?"

Raye sat down and poured himself a bottle of sake, while answering, "I'm not sure. So far we have gone through seven suspects, who we believed were Kira and now he is the eight. Unlike the rest, Light Yagami is different. His father, Soichiro Yagami is the Chief of Police, which means he is more likely to have access to classified information, which would explain why Kira was able to stay one step of the Task Force. Light Yagami is also highly intelligent. But as you know, this is all speculation since we don't have any physical evidence to back this on."

"We could always just kill him and see if Kira is still active or not. If he is, we can resurrect him and try his girlfriend."

Raye looked at Noami, as if this was the first time meeting her. He could tell this case was frustrating her and he was no different.

"We have the Life Note and we shouldn't succumb of the calls of darkness. When I first obtained it, and was reluctant to use it, Yael, the Angel of Life, said that me having the Life Note is filling a gap in God's creation. Look at the good we have done. We have brought happiness to so many people. Given second chances to so many.

Noami was silent, her thoughts echoing loudly in her mind. As the Life Bringer, they had saved countless lives, but at what cost? For every life they brought back, another life had to be sacrificed. She wondered how many of those they chose to resurrect were truly innocent. The world's justice system was flawed, and there was no assurance that their version of justice was any different. However, despite these doubts, she felt that their intentions were pure.

"Be careful Raye. You have already died once, dying anymore, could be permanent."

Raye leaned over and kissed her on her lips, "Don't worry, I still have you to marry. I wouldn't miss that for the world."

Raye moved quietly, trying not to draw any attention to himself as he observed Light Yagami from a distance. He watched as the teenager entered the NPA headquarters, making his way to his father, Soichiro Yamagi's office.

Even though he knew that Light Yagami was under surveillance, it was hard to believe his behavior was an act. He at one point even thought he made a mistake, which when he came to, only strengthen the possibility Light Yagami was not who is portrays himself as.

He was able to have highly skilled detectives lower their guards around him, his charisma is very high. It's very possible that they never once thought he could be Kira.

From the cafe across the police headquarters, Raye hid in plain sight, monitoring for any strange incidents. As it was day time, he did not have any means to approach the headquarters without getting spotted. If he revealed himself, while no one will doubt he have been resurrected by the Life Bringer, this could alert the target, which is something he did not want to do.

He could also attempt to get in contact with L or Soichiro Yagami but their is no guarantee they would truly be upfront with him, with information, especially Soichiro Yagami. He would undoubtedly take the side of his son, and get in the way of Justice.

Sitting in the cafe, until it was late at night, Raye left the cafe and picked up his hidden equipment, NVGs and frequency hopping equipment, to tap into a listening device, to gain information from a distance.

Hiding in a hidden location, he watched the people inside the building gradually leave one by one, until only one light was lit inside the building, with one person visible, Light Yagami.

As he watched Light Yagami, Raye's thought wondered to a figure draped in light, one could even argue she was light itself. He had not seen Yael since she left that day, and he had grown increasingly more worried as time went on. He imagined if she was her, with her intelligence, evidence for Light's identity would be abundantly clear.

At the high moon, the light inside the building turned off, which obviously meant whoever was inside was leaving the building, and who else could it be if not, Light Yagami?

Still hidden in an inconspicuous location, Raye watched as the target walked towards the subway station. Almost as if one accident, a blonde woman bumped into Light and as it turned out, that person is Misa Amane.

As he was too far away, he could not hear what they were talking about, but he imagined it was nothing good.

What Raye found odd was the fact that everyone seem to be unconsciously avoiding the two. If he didn't know any better, he would assume the two was figment of his imagination, obviously that was not the case.

Kissing each other deeply and Misa Amane had Light Yagami touch a piece of paper, which cause Light's demeanor to shift to a more dark and commanding figure. It was so subtle that if one was not aware, they would miss it.

The two split up and went their separate ways. The other people around started to move as if given a cue, and Light disappeared from his vision for moment before he located him again. Considering what he just saw, he assumed that "Kira" was about to make a big move and was not worried about hiding himself.

This was Raye, last or probably only chance to put an end to Kira's ceaseless killings.

Following Light Yagami from a distance, he also texted Noami about the situation. He was not sure where he was headed.

Light boarded the train and seem to be headed home. Raye sat in a different cart and watched from there.

Getting off the train and heading in the direction of the Yagami Household, Raye saw that the streets were deserted and it was dark enough so he grabbed Light and bagged him, before breaking into a vehicle and hot wiring it.

He was bringing him to a hidden location that could not be tied back to him.

Parking, he brought Light into a dark room and sat him at a table, while he wore a mask. Making sure he did not forget anything, only then did he remove the bag from his head.

The two of them sat across each other in the dark room, empty room, their eyes locked in a deadly stare-down.

"You must be wondering who I am, and why I abducted you," Raye's voice was cold and collected, "Nowadays, people call me Life Bringer, your archenemy."

Light smirked, his eyes glinting with a cold, unfeeling light. "Archenemy, you said? I never place you in my view, so its kind of arrogant to say that."

"True, however that is not why we are here. Light Yagami, or I guess I should say Kira, you have made quite the mess of society. I am willing to turn a blind eye if you give up the Death Note." Raye or, the Life Bringer suggested, seemingly sincere.

Light did not even think about the offer, and scoff in disdain. If he gave up the Death Note, not only will he not enter Hell or Heaven, he would have done everything for nothing.

"You did not think I would just agree, did you?" As for asking about why this person was sure he was Kira, it was not hard to come to a conclusion he had followed.

And for that person not to draw his attention, means they were well trained.

"No, I did not.." As Raye was about to continue, his phone ding and he looked at it, seeing a message that shocked him with disbelief.

Turning to look at Light Yagami, Raye became irritated and angry.

"Care to explain to me why L was confirmed deceased?"

Light Yagami's expression had a look of genuine surprise on it, "That's news to me."

"Even if this was not done by you, it is definitely linked to you in some way." A thought struck Raye and he asked, "Kira, let me ask you this, where is your Shinigami? There seem to be something happening not on Earth.

'I asked Misa the same question, so this confirms it. The absence of Ryuk and the Life Bringer bring this up, confirms my thoughts.'

"I don't know. He just got up and left one day, saying he had something to do. You?"

"The same. She said she needed to return to Paradise. She hasn't returned since then."

'She? Paradise? Well, he is using the Life Note, so it was obvious it came from Heaven or as he said, Paradise.'

"I guess it's time to end this."

Light scoffed. "You think you can stop me? You don't stand a chance. I am Kira, and I am a god."

"God damn wrong is what you are!" Raye lunged forward, quickly disarming Light Yagami, before rolling up his sleeves and looking at the watch that seemed to have a hidden compartment, with a small piece of paper inside.

"Just as I thought, there was no way you would be caught without some kind of guarantee on hand. It's interesting though, how are you able to use the Death Note's power with a piece of paper?" He has been observing Light Yagami and he did not think he could be subdued so easily.

His Life Note did not have the ability to kill a person with just a piece of paper. In fact, the moment he cut a piece of paper out, it would automatically disappear, though it takes time. Quite convenient, as he would never leave a trace behind.

Looking at the crazed Light Yagami, Raye did not feel the happiness he thought he would, if anything he felt empty. The only thing he could feel gratified about, is the fact that Kira could finally face Justice.

Grabbing his phone, Raye called Naomi, "It's me. I have Kira in custody. I have thought about it, he needs to face Justice and we need to bring L back in order for that. First thing first, bring L back and then we go there."

"On it."

"I thought you were the Life Bringer, did you lie about that?"

"I said I was Life Bringer but never said the Life Bringer was only one."
