Spiralling Phantom Chapter 4

Naoto's POV

I opened the door as Futaba saw me enter. She looked even more like a Hikikomori than before. I guess the Trauma of losing Mom was still plaguing her. I walked to her bed and sat and spoke as she was silent. It was clear she was shocked or didn't care.

''I came back. I got expelled from the apartment. The landlord was a piece of crap. I found something interesting though. It's a way to help you. I'll be settling in more but I will be working on it starting tomorrow. I'll show you that I haven't given up on my promise to show you that this asshole was lying about her suicide.'' I said and she seemed to gasp as I said that before I remembered that fateful day.

Flashback of Wakaba's Suicide

This is your fault! Always trying to make her spend time with you! A man said as Futaba was starting to cry. I then punched this dude hard in the stomach forcing him to leave as I tried comforting my adopted little sister.

''Urgggh...You fucking brat! You...how?!'' The man said as he left but not before I looked at a card that I had stolen from him. I knew his name and I would get to the bottom of this as Futaba fell unconscious and Dad went to the hospital with her and me.

I then asked Futaba a question.

''Sis what does this place represent to you? I need a word to describe it.'' I asked her as a long awkward silence followed. I then decided to leave but she spoke ever so low. It was faint but I heard her say the word.

''It's my Tomb big brother.'' Futaba said as I nodded. I then pulled out my phone and spoke to her as I entered the Keywords in the app.

''Don't worry. If you see me magically disappear, I'll be fine and it isn't one of your hallucinations okay?'' I said as I entered the words into the Metaverse App.

Futaba Sakura's Palace

I entered these words and I suddenly disappeared into the metaverse as I heard Futaba utter some shocked words. When I arrived with my Sprectal garb, I was in a desert and I noticed that the heat wasn't affecting me at all. It was a subconscious thing after all. I then channeled my chakra and rushed towards the Pyramid, this had to be her tomb. I entered the pyramid and it didn't disappoint as it was very like what I saw in the History Classes at school. At the top of some stone staircases was Futaba or her lookalike. She seemed to be the Pharoh as I approached and began speaking to her removing my mask.

''Futaba...it's me. Naoto, I came to help you..., you get the gist.'' I said as the shadow nodded and spoke up.

''So you're here to steal our treasure Big Brother?'' Futaba(?) asked as I took a pensive approach and answered her.

''If doing so helps you then yes. I came to do that however I doubt you will allow me, your big brother a free pass?'' I asked a question of my own as Futaba (?) answered in a monotone voice like before.

''I would give you that pass However, you need to get Futaba to be aware that her Treasure will be Stolen. Can you really risk it?'' Futaba (?) asked me as I nodded and answered her.

''I would in a heartbeat. I'll get the message ready.'' I said as the shadow nodded and hummed before some weird aura appeared from as four things appeared. Three of them merged into a three-headed skull made of crystal and the other was an Egyptian key. Futaba (?) then explained the Key's purpose

''The first three that combined are the Will Seeds of the Palace. They Merged into something you should keep. The Key is guaranteed no interference from the monsters of this place. The Shadows if you would. Be aware that the moment she is aware of things her mind will try to expel, so make sure to do your best.'' Futaba (?) said as I left and came back to the real world. I was in the coffee room and I began unpacking my stuff and decided once I was done to make the calling card.

I then used a shadow clone that transformed into a mouse to deliver the card so she could get it. It didn't take long for me to check if she saw it was it as I entered the house and used my sharp hearing to hear if she had read and well she was reading it right now.

''Futaba Sakura...you have allowed yourself to be harmed by others but tomorrow that will change. I will fulfill my duty to steal your heart and save you from this dark path that this man set you through.

Naoto Uzumaki, your big brother and Leader of the Phantom Thieves''

Futaba read as I something from beyond the wall. I narrowed my eyes. It was Futaba (?), and she smiled as she spoke.

''So it begins...you have to succeed tomorrow.'' Futaba (?) before she looked normal again as this was what Morgana meant by this being high alert that caused the Treasure to manifest itself. With my Job done, I went to sleep for the day.

POV Change: Futaba's POV

I had hacked my big brother's phone as he had pulled weird stuff from an app. He vanished in mid-air and then I received this letter. This didn't make sense. I went through his log and managed to find out about his escape and what he was starting to do. He had entered these parameters to enter my mind or palace as they called it.

It seemed that I needed to be at full power as I went to sleep and installed many trackers on him to know when he would attempt this. Big Brother...please don't get yourself in danger were my last thoughts as sleep took me.
