Tw: Shipping, kissing, hurt/comfort, throwing up.

Chapter 1: Pain

They both woke up the next morning and Maddie went to go make breakfast, meanwhile, Chloe was clutching her stomach in pain and wimpering. Maddie rushed back into the room after hearing chloe crying.

"Chloe, what's wrong?" Maddie asked. "I-I don't know, it hurts so much," Chloe managed to say between sobs. "It's okay, I'm here. Just focus on your breathing." Maddie replied.

"I dont know what's wrong" Chloe said through tears. "Don't cry Chlo, you'll be okay." Maddie said as she hugged Chloe from behind. Chloe leaned into Maddie's hug and began sobbing uncontrollably.

Maddie laid back in Chloe's bed, and Chloe lay her head on Maddie's lap. As Maddie brushed her fingers through Chloe's hair, Chloe began to panic; her chest tightened, and each breath became a struggle.

"Baby, it's okay; I'm here with you," Maddie reassured. Despite Chloe's continued panic, Maddie remained calm and focused on helping her friend. "Maddie, I can't breathe." Chloe managed to get out between gasps for air.

Maddie hugged her tighter and pressed a kiss to her forehead. Chloe began to stop panicking and eventually stopped crying, but she was still whimpering in pain. Maddie put her hand to Chloe's forehead and realized she had a really high fever.

"Chloe, you have a really high fever; I'll be right back," Maddie said as she walked out of the room. She grabbed a cup of water, a wet rag, and a heating pad and went back to Chloe's room.

Chloe was sobbing again in pain, and this time it sounded even louder than before. Maddie heard her cries from the kitchen and rushed upstairs to comfort her. She found Chloe doubled over in pain, clutching her stomach and barely able to breathe.

"Chlo, breathe, in and out; it will pass soon," Maddie said. "I-I can't," Chloe replied. Maddie held Chloe in her arms and cuddled her until she slowed her breathing down. Chloe still had her grip tightened around her stomach.

Standing up, Maddie went to plug the heating pad in and grab Chloe's water. Chloe grabbed her arm and held it tight, trying not to cry out in pain. Maddie turned back around and held Chloe's hand until the pain had subsided for now.

She handed Chloe the water and helped her take a few sips. Chloe's pain was gone, but instead, she felt nauseated and tried not to throw up. Eventually, she couldn't take it anymore and bolted up from her bed and ran to the bathroom, her hand covering her mouth.

Maddie followed her, concerned, and walked over to Chloe, kneeling beside her and holding her hair back while rubbing her back as she continued to throw up.

After what seemed like forever, Chloe finally finished. Maddie held her close and comforted her as she cried.

Maddie helped her walk back to bed and covered her with blankets as she climbed into bed with her. As they cuddled, eventually Chloe fell asleep, her head resting on Maddie's shoulder.

Maddie fell asleep a little later, hoping Chloe would feel better tomorrow.
