4. Chapter 4 The Favour

Chapter 4 (Adrian) The Favour

I found it rather ironic that Hades was the one to keep the oath. Now Poseidon had a child which meant that two of the Big Three had broken the oath. First when Zeus sired Thalia and now when Poseidon sired Percy. Chiron looked shocked which isn't surprising. The other campers were shocked too. I first thought Percy as a son of Apollo when he managed to heal that fast but then spotted the creek next to him. Annabeth was pale in the face but I could see that determined look in her eyes. Chiron pulled Percy aside to the Big House and told me and Annabeth to come as well. When we arrive there, Percy was already there with Grover, Chiron and Mr D. Percy looked up and told us he was to go on a quest. Chiron filled us in.

"At the last winter solstice, a thief stole Zeus's master bolt. Now as Poseidon claimed Percy, Zeus would definitely know about Percy and would think that it was Percy who stole the bolt. However, what we think is that it was Hades who took the bolt. He would have both his Helm of Darkness and Zeus's master bolt. He would be able to take down both of his brothers and become the king of Olympus."

"This naturally means a quest to take back the bolt from Hades and return it to Zeus. What better person to do this than a child of Poseidon to do it? Zeus would forgive Poseidon and then everything would be well."

"I asked the two of you to come because, Percy needs people to go with him on this quest. Grover has already volunteered so we need one more person. Who wants to go?"

I look at Annabeth. Before I could say anything, she says, "I'll go." I look at the others. Chiron nods.

"It's settled then. Percy, Annabeth and Grover will leave for the quest tomorrow morning."

Annabeth leaves and I go after her.

"Are you sure about this?"

"Yes. This is my only chance for a quest."

"But.."

She turned to face me. "Look, I'm going to be fine."

I laugh. "Oh yeah, I forgot about Percy. He'll protect you."

She glares at me and stomps off. I laugh some more and goes back to the Big House. Percy and Grover are still there. They look up when I arrive.

"Percy," I say, "Look after my sister for me alright?"

He nods. "Why can't you go as well."

He looked to Grover as he answered. "Three is the maximum number for questers. Any more would be too dangerous."

I nod. Percy looks at me. "I'll do my best."

I grin. "Do me a favour as well. Give her a kiss. I want to know her reaction. Tell me when you guys get back."

Percy reddens.
