In the bustling halls of U.A. High School, students chattered excitedly, their quirk-filled discussions echoing off the walls. Heroes-in-training moved between classes, some showing off their latest abilities, others simply rushing to make it to their next lesson on time. Among this sea of young heroes, there was an unusual guest—Red Wake, the towering hero known for his Terminator armor and fearsome reputation. He had been invited to U.A. as a special guest speaker, an opportunity to share his wisdom and experiences with the students. Red Wake, standing at over eight feet tall in his imposing armor, was an unexpected sight in the academy.
As he entered the classroom where the students had gathered, the atmosphere shifted from excitement to awe. Eyes widened, and hushed whispers swept through the room. Red Wake's formidable presence was undeniable, but there was something unexpected beneath that intimidating exterior.
His helmet, adorned with a skull motif, hid his face, but his voice, modulated by the helmet's speakers, carried a reassuring tone. "Greetings, young heroes of U.A.," he began, his words dripping with authority.
However, as he spoke and shared tales of his heroism, something curious happened. The students began to notice that beneath the heavy armor and the stern exterior, there was a certain innocence to Red Wake. He spoke passionately about the importance of protecting the innocent and fighting for justice, and his words resonated deeply with the students.
As the presentation continued, the students couldn't help but chuckle at the contrast between his fearsome appearance and his endearing passion for heroism. They saw glimpses of a gentler side to him, like when he talked about saving a kitten from a tree during a particularly dangerous mission or how he enjoyed watching the sun rise after a long night of patrolling. Towards the end of his speech, Red Wake removed his helmet, revealing his face for the first time. Beneath the helmet, he had a strong jawline, piercing sapphire eyes, and a warm crooked smile. It was a face that seemed almost out of place in the context of his armor.
The students couldn't contain their reactions any longer. They erupted into laughter and applause, surprising even Red Wake himself. He chuckled along with them, realizing that despite his imposing appearance, he had inadvertently become the cutest, most precious giant in the room.
After the presentation, Red Wake took the time to answer questions and interact with the students. They swarmed around him, eager to take pictures and shake his massive hand. The once-intimidating hero had become an unexpected source of inspiration and amusement.
As Red Wake left U.A. that day, he couldn't help but reflect on the experience. He had come expecting to share his wisdom with the next generation of heroes, but he had also learned something valuable in return. Heroes came in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes, it was the most unexpected heroes who left the biggest impact. And so, the legend of Red Wake grew, not just as a formidable hero, but also as the cutest, most precious giant in the world of heroes-in-training at U.A.
*TIME SKIP*
The U.A. Sports Festival was in full swing, with students from Class 1-A, 1-B, and other hero courses showcasing their impressive quirks and skills in the arena. The excitement in the stadium was palpable, and fans were cheering for their favorite contestants.
In the announcer booth, Present Mic with guest announcer Uwabami (Aizawa refused and took PTO just to not go) were focused on their commentary, providing colorful descriptions of the students' performances. Their microphones were live, transmitting their voices to the entire stadium and the live broadcast.
As they watched the battles unfold, Uwabami couldn't help but be distracted by the presence of Red Wake, the guest speaker from the previous week's event. He was a towering figure in his Terminator armor, commanding attention wherever he went. Unbeknownst to them, the microphones were still on, and Uwabami leaned in toward Present Mic, her voice a low whisper.
"Present Mic," she said, her tone almost conspiratorial, "have you seen Red Wake? He's... hot."
Present Mic, who had been focused on his notes, suddenly froze. He glanced at Uwabami, his eyes wide, and then at the microphone in front of him. Panic washed over his face as he realized that their conversation was being broadcast to the entire stadium and the viewers at home.
"U-Uwabami! The microphones are on!" Present Mic stammered. He couldn't believe what had just happened. His normally bombastic and energetic persona had been replaced by sheer embarrassment. Uwabami's eyes widened in realization, and she too turned crimson. "Oh, my stars! I didn't realize... I mean, yes, he's a formidable hero, but I didn't mean to say it for everyone to hear." She looked flustered and embarrassed, her professional demeanor crumbling momentarily.
The stadium fell into a brief silence as the audience processed what they had just heard. Then, it erupted into laughter and applause. The unexpected candid moment from the announcers had become an instant highlight of the Sports Festival.
Present Mic cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "Ladies and gentlemen, we apologize for that... unexpected comment. Let's get back to the action in the arena!"
As they continued with their commentary, Present Mic couldn't help but steal a glance at Uwabami, who was equally mortified by the slip-up. They both learned a valuable lesson that day — never assume the microphones are off when discussing personal opinions, especially about towering, armored heroes like Red Wake.
After the Sports Festival had concluded, Uwabami found herself in the assembly hall, mingling with other pro heroes and the students who had participated. She had successfully avoided any awkward encounters with Present Mic after their on-air slip-up, focusing on her usual charismatic persona. As she chatted with a group of students, Uwabami noticed a towering figure approaching her out of the corner of her eye.
It was Red Wake, the imposing titan she had commented on earlier. Despite her embarrassment over the microphone incident, she couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement and nervousness.
"Madam. Uwabami," Red Wake's voice rumbled from within his Terminator helmet, "may I have a moment of your time?"
Uwabami turned to face him, her heart racing feeling his voice rumble in her chest. She had never been this close to someone so imposing, yet strangely intriguing. "Of course, Red Wake," she replied, her charismatic smile firmly in place.
Red Wake gestured for her to step aside with him, away from the bustling crowd. They found a quiet corner where they could talk privately.
"Madam. Uwabami," Red Wake began, his helmet still concealing his face, "I wanted to speak with you about something."
Uwabami was taken aback by his directness but maintained her poise. "What is it, Red Wake?"
He hesitated for a moment, and then his voice took on a slightly different tone, one that seemed softer, almost shy. "During your commentary at the Sports Festival, you mentioned that you found me... hot."
Uwabami's cheeks turned a shade of pink as she recalled the embarrassing moment. "Oh, that. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. It was just a slip of the tongue."
Red Wake shook his head within the helmet, and Uwabami could sense a hint of amusement in his voice. "No need to apologize. I wanted to let you know that your comment, while unexpected, made me realize something."
Uwabami raised an eyebrow, curious. "And what's that?"
Red Wake paused for a moment, and then, with deliberate intent, he activated the speakers in his helmet, allowing Uwabami to hear his true voice. It was a deep, resonant voice, with a certain gravitas that commanded attention.
"It's not just my appearance that you like," he said, his voice reverberating through the air. "It's my voice as well."
Uwabami's eyes widened as she listened to the powerful timbre of Red Wake's voice. It was a voice that exuded confidence and strength, a voice that could inspire and reassure in equal measure. She found herself captivated, her heart beating faster, and her cheeks flushing deeper shades of pink. "I... I suppose you're right," she admitted, her voice slightly breathless.
Red Wake's helmeted head tilted ever so slightly, as if in a nod. "I just thought you should know that there's more to me than meets the eye, Madam. Uwabami."
As he turned to leave, Uwabami watched him go, her thoughts in turmoil. She had always been drawn to charisma and presence, and Red Wake had both in spades. It was a moment she wouldn't soon forget, and she couldn't help but wonder what other surprises the enigmatic hero might hold beneath his imposing exterior.
AN: I hope this chapter turned out well. I know little to nothing about Uwabami, but I know a bit more about 40K than MHA.
Again, English is my second language and i am getting help with translation, and grammar from another author.
I'm going to continue this, due to the fact i find this story is helping with my writers block.
