During an evacuation from a disputed planet Dr. Leonard McCoy is presumed dead and left behind. He finds a dead Vulcan woman and saves her infant daughter. Later he 'acquires' a Klingon wife and infant son. They are captured by Orion slavers. Dr. McCoy must find a way to escape and take his new family back to the Federation. Fast paced until chapter 6. Lots of drama.

This story tries to answer the question as to when and how Spock was injured in Star Trek Beyond. There is speculation that Spock was injured during the crash landing, but I think that he would never have let McCoy fly the craft down unless he HAD to. So, this is my take on it.

When a transporter malfunction leaves Jim in an... Unusual situation, the crew are at a lose as to what to do about it. But the same transporter malfunction strands Sulu and the rest of the away team on a planet which reaches a hundred and twenty degrees below zero at night! And with night quickly approaching on the planets surface, the crew don't have long to try and fix it.
