DM The Best Bonds of Water
One evening Margo was helping Lucy to make dinner.
''How was school today?'' asked Lucy. ''I've just solved a crossword blindfolded!'' said Margo proudly. ''That's wonderful Margo'' said Lucy, ''I'm so proud of you!''. They got into Lucy's three mode car and she drove off. ''Is there anything else you've learned today?'' asked Lucy. ''About where all of our fresh water comes from'' replied Margo.
Lucy turned the tap on to fill water in a jug. When she was done, she went to get the food out of the oven, but she left the tap running. ''Mom! That's wasting water!'' Margo pointed out. Lucy heard this and turned the tap off quickly. ''Good point Margo'' she said. After they had eaten, Lucy suddenly caught a funny feeling about where everyone get their water from.
So she decided to take her daughter out for a family trip to the one place where all the water was—the reservoir! ''Would you like to go to the reservoir?'' Lucy asked Margo. ''Yeah, sure Mom!'' said Margo. Later Lucy and Margo got ready for bed as normal. Margo had a bath, cleaned her teeth and got into bed, then it was Lucy's turn. The next morning, Lucy and Margo had their breakfast, cleaned their teeth, got dressed and got in the car. Lucy drove until she found a carpark, she drove and parked in an empty space. Lucy and Margo walked up the hill with the path on it which would lead them both to the reservoir. They came to a bridge where water stretched for miles either side they looked. ''It's like looking out over the ocean!'' said Margo in amazement.
''Yes I suppose it does'' agreed Lucy, ''If anyone wasted water like that, there'll be none left''. ''Then that means this reservoir will be dry!'' gasped Margo.''That's true, sweetie'' said Lucy. Meanwhile, under the water, a dark shape was floating along, it was a submarine with a very villainy look. It was white and had an capital V on the side in the colour orange. Inside was Vector a young man in an orange and white tracksuit which could convert into a flight suit enabling the owner to fly and a fully-functional spacesuit. has a pudding-bowl haircut, brown eyes and a sharp nose. He also wore large black glasses. He also gained a somewhat potbelly that wasn't part of his tracksuit. He had his father Mr Perkins with him. Mr Perkins was a very large overly pudgy, morose, argumentative, and self-serving man. His only bits of hair consisted of two horns on either side of his head like a devil.
Vector looked through the periscope to be on the lookout, making sure that no good guys would ruin their scheme of whatever it is they're up to. THUMP! ''Ow!'' said Vector. The submarine had crashed into a bridge column! ''Dad! You were supposed to be looking where I'm going'' he complained. ''Not now, Vector, I'm trying to concentrate'' replied Mr Perkins. They parked up their submarine on the shore and headed for the control place where the floodgates would be at. They meet a worker. Mr. Perkins punched him to knock him out cold. POW! ''OOFFF!'' grunted the guard. Mr. Perkins pulled the levers to open the plug hole. Mr. Perkins and Vector laughed evilly. Lucy and Margo were still looking at the water when they heard a loud, bubbling noise.
''The water's good even though it's a now a jacuzzi'' added Lucy. ''Or a big fish who likes baked beans!'' joked Margo.
Suddenly, they spotted Mr. Perkins and Vector at the control panel by the floodgates! ''Mr. Perkins!'' exclaimed Lucy. ''Vector!'' gasped Margo. ''What are they up to this time?'' asked Lucy. ''We gotta check it out!'' said Margo. ''This looks like a job for Agent Wilde!'' declared Lucy. She snatched up Margo with only one arm and carried her along. They ran to the floodgates. When they got there, Lucy called out, ''Mr Perkins!''. ''Ugh!'' groaned Mr Perkins, ''If it isn't Lucy Wilde and her daughter! Well it's little too late Lucy!''. He gestured his thumb toward the water sinking away. ''Within minutes, all the water will be gone, wasted, down the plug hole!'' he said, ''Son, tell 'em our plan''.
''Alright'' agreed Vector, he pulled down the a sheet of paper to explain their wicked scheme to waste all the water from the reservoir. ''Observe!'' he announced, ''Step one: We drained every water from the reservoirs in the world. Step two: everything will run dry, no one will wash, the world will smell, it'll stink!''. ''That's right'' said Mr Perkins, ''Within hours, the earth will be nothing but a desert! Just how we like it!''. He and Vector both laughed maniacally. ''Not if we could help it!'' said Lucy. ''Go, Mom!'' cheered Margo. Lucy used her lipstick taser on Mr Perkins and Vector making them both fall into the water. Then she ran to the controllers to closed the plug hole which she did. Lastly, Lucy sprayed ink from her watch on Mr Perkins and Vector.
They were trapped in steel ball, unable to free themselves. Father and son were defeated by mother and daughter.
''You may have stop us again!'' growled Mr Perkins, ''But one day soon, the whole world will be . . . '' but he was cut off as Lucy zapped him and Vector again. They were knocked unconscious. Margo ran up to Lucy. ''Well, we did it again, Mom!'' she said. They hugged each other tightly. ''Looks like the water's gonna stay that way'' said Lucy.
''Yeah. It's going to be safe! I love you Mom'' said Margo.
''I love you too Margo'' smiled Lucy.
