A/N: Another KEENLER short oneshot, I hope you enjoy, Angels.
FBI Agent Donald Ressler watches her from afar. Her husband is standing next to her, his arm around her. He can see his partner hugging family members who have come to support the Keens, so he just stays where he is, in the background.
"Ressler?" A voice comes from in front of him. It's Keen, alone, dressed in black, tears staining her face. "We got a case?" She asks, her voice is quiet. Ressler shakes his head. Even if they did have a chase, he wouldn't call her, none of the team would, not today. "No, I just came to see how you're doing." He tells her. Keen manages a small smile. All the team wanted to continue and check on her but they all had paperwork to do and agreed that Ressler should be the one who should check on the profiler.
"Thank you." The grieving woman says gratefully. "You doing okay?" He asks, he knows how hard losing a parent is no matter how old you are.
"Honestly?" Ressler nods. "I feel like he'll call me any minute and call me 'butterball' but I know he won't because he's dead." Keen says as tears start to pour down her face. Ressler puts a hand on his partner's arm, giving it a light squeeze. "I know how you're feeling, Keen and I promise you it gets easier." He reassures her. "Just takes time." He gives her a smile. Keen looks over her shoulder and sighs.
"I've gotta get back, thanks for being here." Keen hugs him quickly, gives him a smile, turns back around and walks away from him.
Two days later Ressler walks into his shared office and sees a box on his desk with a note on top. He smiles as he reads the note.
Ressler,
Thanks for supporting me the other day.
-Liz
Putting the note on the desk, the male FBI Agent opens the box and sees a new watch.
"You're welcome, Keen." He says to himself as he puts the watch on wrist and looks out of the window at Keen who is currently being hugged by Meera.
You're welcome, Keen.
A/N: Another short Keenler oneshot. I know it's short but right now short is all I've got, enjoy, Angels.
