Fall prompt #2: A Bonfire is being organized as a reunion between our old friends...by Kalmar.
"Guys I have AN IDEA!" Sixteen year old Kalmar Wingfeather announced at dinner.
Janner, recently turned seventeen, set his spoon back into his bowl of soup, and shared a look with his girlfriend, Sara, also seventeen, who was sitting next to him. They both sighed, then looked at Kalmar.
"What's that?" Janner asked.
Kal grinned at everyone, "We have a bonfire."
Artham and Nia breathed a sigh of relief.
"What?" Kal looked confused.
"Usually your 'ideas' are...dangerous." Sara said.
"Whaaaat? No they aren't!" Kal scoffed. "But anyway, what'd'ya all say? Yay? Nay?"
"Why would we have this bonfire though?" Leeli asked.
Kal grinned. "So we could all spend time together! Lately we've had sooo many meetings, so we all haven't been able to spend time together. Leeli! You could invite Thorn! And we could see if Gammon and Maraly wanted to come. I'll invite Galya, and we'll all have fun!"
Everyone at the table considered it in deep thought, but in the end it was a unanimous vote to put Kal's plan into action.
2 weeks later...
Kal was ecstatic.
The bonfire was going to happen in a few hours.
Kalmar had convinced his entire family to make this trip a camping trip, so everyone was packing bags and getting tents and fishing poles, as they would be camping beside a small stream that was rich in fish.
Gammon and Maraly had already come from Skree, and Thorn (who's family had moved to Anniera) was waiting for everyone with Leeli, since they were already packed. Galya would be arrived at the castle soon, then on horseback, they would all head down and go camping in the Annieran Forest.
"Alright, is everyone ready?" Kal asked once everyone was together and packed.
Everyone nodded.
Kal smiled, "Great, well let's go have a small vacation!"
And with that, they went and mounted their horses, and packed up their bags on the horses, and left.
After a few hours they found a spot to stay and after a few minutes they had camp set up.
"Alright, well let's get this bonfire set up!" Kal announced.
Janner stood up from where he sat on an old log beside Sara, and grabbed an axe and set to work chopping a small tree down for wood. Artham and Gammon set to finding some rather large stones to make a firepit, Sara and Arundelle made sure that everyone's bags were in their tents, and Nia and Leeli got the food out.
After some time of everyone getting everything set up, the bonfire was started. The family had a grand time together. It was a well-needed night for the Wingfeather family.
