Harry did not know how he arrived at this point, last thing he remembered was walking through the Veil after the combination of nukes and Voldemort almost destroyed his world. What Voldemort could not finish, was done by muggles when World War III started. Nukes were raining down left, right, and center. All his friends that had survived had gone into hiding, creating small warded communities with everything from Air to water purification to the artificial sun, which allowed them to feel like the old world. Still, they were surviving, making the best or the worst situation, but it would only sustain them for six to seven years as the magic here was corrupted, and it needed a some time to recharge, around 100 years before it could again support life.

During the war with Voldemort, he started learning about ancient runes and arithmancy due to the necessity of it. In one of the old books, he came across The Veil, which piqued his interest, so he started researching it after the war. Where he came across a suggestion that the Veil could be a portal to the other world. Well then, this was one of the theories he spent little time on, but after World War III, he seriously started exploring that idea. With more than five years of work, the book's suggestion was proper or as correct as it can be without testing.

So here he was going to do one of the most stupid things he had ever done, and that is saying something. With his track record, he was going to walk through the Veil. He was sure if Hermione ever found out what he was going to do, she would beat him to death and Save him the trouble of walking through the Veil.

He had made necessary changes to the veil runes and was 50% sure it would work. He is offering himself as a test subject and not telling anyone about it because he does not want anyone else to die of this long sort. If it works well, he can always come back and take them, but if it does not work, at least they would be safe for some time.

He had multiple Charmed luggage, which contained numerous plants and animals, and all the house elves who worked in Hogwarts were dying because they did not have Hogwart's magical energy to siphon. He had bonded with as many house elves as he could, but the magical community could not take them in, and he would have died after discussing with them; it was decided that the elves would come with him as soon as he died their medical link would be broken with him, and they would die a slow and painful death. The house elves decided that they would like to pass quickly and pain-free; if this did not work, instead of a long and painful death, he tried to dissuade them of this idea, but they were unmoved. So he prayed that this plan worked or everyone he knew would die.

As he mentally prepared to walk through the Veil, something landed on his shoulders. He turned and nudged Hedwig.

"Are you sure, girl, you want to come with me? You can stay with Hermione until I am back?" Harry said

Hedwig just looked at him and swatted him with her wings on the back head as if to say how can he think such a thing? She will go with him, and that's final. Okay, girl, I understand he said and opened the trunk so she could go inside. After locking it and shrinking it, he secured all of them and took a big breath, and ran was the Veil.

As soon as he passed the surface of the Veil, he felt pain 20 times worse than the cruciatus curse. It seemed to last infinitely, but he soon came out on the other side, sprawled on the floor, magically drained and with pain all over his body but alive.

He did not even get to celebrate that he was alive when his magic warned him that he had to hostiles around him. With great difficulty, he looked up and found 7 to 10 people surrounding him. They were dressed in strange clothes and pointing staff at him. They spoke in unfamiliar languages. When he saw the staff tip of the team begin glowing, he raised his arm to conjure up a shield. A weak shield appeared around him. The people around him reacted in surprise and started firing energy bolts, which ran down his shield. If he had been at his full strength, he could have kept it sealed up for a long time, but after what he had gone through, he could only hold it up for a few hits. After which his shield collapsed, and two to three bolts hit him before he collapsed, drained

Seeing his collapse, the people stop firing, and a voice says to bring him closer. He was picked up, carried towards the vote, and dumped in front of someone. With the last of his strength, he looked up and saw a person standing before him. He was dressed in old Egyptian clothes as Harry had seen pharaohs dressed in all Egyptian movies. The person looked at Harry as you would look at clothes at the store before buying. He must have liked what he saw because the person replied.

Yes, this is a good host, and order the guards to prepare him. Harry was picked up and forced into kneeling, and his mouth opened. He would not like to remember what happened after it, but a snake-like creature came out of the person's mouth and went into his.
