Well, it has been a long time and I don't know if people even read Brittana fanfic anymore but lately, I have had this idea in my head about this story. I have already come up with the whole concept in an outline on how I will write it, so I plan on finishing this story. I am already working on the next chapter but do not know how fast I will be getting the chapters out. To those of you who read this, thank you and please be kind. It has been a very long time since I have written a story. Well, here we go.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

When I was 6 years old, I met my soulmate. How do I know this you might ask; well, I have the mark to prove it.

It was a normal day at the park by my house. My mom was watching me from the bench. I was a little active and tended to get into trouble because I always thought I could do what the older kids do, which led me here dangling about 6 feet from the ground on the monkey bars.

"Ugh," I groan. I should never have climbed up that pole to reach these monkey bars. My mom has told me so many times to stay away from them till I am older and can reach, but what do I do? I climbed the leg of the monkey bars till I was able to reach the first bar. I was so proud that I could do it, that is until I made it halfway then my arms started to give out. I could feel sweat dripping from my hands making my hands slippery. These were really tall monkey bars and if I drop, I will probably hurt my ankle. I am looking down at the ground feet dangling and contemplating the risk when a beautiful tan girl appears under me. She raises an eyebrow and puts her hand on her hip.

"Are you going to just hang there all day? I feel like I have watched you not move for hours." The girl complained then gave me a cheeky smile "Do you need help?"

"Ugh I think I am stuck." I say lamely, really sure what else to tell this girl I don't know.

"Psh it's okay I will catch you." She holds her arm out and under me like she is getting set to catch me.

This actually makes me laugh because this girl is definitely smaller than me. I may be 6 but I am still pretty tall for my age and this girl has to be a few inches shorter than me and weigh less as well.

This makes her scowl. "Come on, I can catch you."

"Are you sure you seem pretty small."

"I may be small, but I am strong." She seems to get even more offended when I raise my eyebrow and her scowl deepens "Fine if you don't want my help just keep hanging there all day for all I care." She is about to walk away in a huff when my hands start to slip.

"Ahh!" I yell as I tumble down.

Now this is where everything in my life changes. The little girl was fast, and I felt hands briefly touch my hips but then my right wrist started to burn. It is not a slight burn; it is full on pain like my skin is on fire. I yell out in pain now and barely register that we both are on the ground and the girl right next to me is yelling out in pain as well. When it finally clears and the pain stops, I look down at my wrist. What in the world is going on. I think along with. Mom is going to be really mad at me for getting a tattoo. It almost looks like a black music note or something on my wrist and some letters behind it. I squint my eyes and pull my wrist really close to my face and see that it looks like a blue twisted marking of a B and a red marking that looks like it is a S. It is really fancy looking letters that are twisted together on my wrist.

I look over to the girl to check to see if she is okay and see that she is looking at her left wrist.

She still is looking over her wrist touching it as she says, "I would have caught you, but my wrist started to hurt."

She looks up at me and I am caught by how beautiful her mocha eyes really are up this close. They seem to sparkle in the sun. She looks down at her wrist again and tries to rub it off.

"Yeah, I think something happened to my wrist when I fell." I explain.

I am curious to see if she is okay, so I look over at her arm to make sure it is not broken or anything. That is when I see that she had the same marking as I do but hers are on her left wrist. I put up my right wrist next to her left.

"This is weird." I say.

I hear her gasp and grab at my arm to look at my wrist better. She tries to whip my mark away like she was doing to hers earlier. The marking starts to tingle when she touches my arm.

"Did you have this before?" She ask.

"No, did you?"

She shakes her head. "I should show my mom." she says and I just nod as she takes off at a sprint to show her mom.

I walk to the edge of the playground where I can see the girl because I feel weirdly like I should follow her. I stop myself from going any further though as I watch the little girl pointing to me as she is talking to her mom. She shows her mom her wrist and points to me again. Her mom stands up quickly and looks like she is very angry at the girl. I cannot hear what is being said but the little girl starts crying and looks like she is going to run back to me when her mom lifts her up kicking and screaming. That was all I could take as she starts turning and walking quickly away. I take off running as fast as I can to catch up to them. The girl is over her mom's shoulder facing me. She reaches out towards me. I reach my hand out as if I can reach her, but I trip and scrap my knee and start to cry.

Screaming I woke up from my dream. I am drenched in sweat and reach down to my right wrist to touch my mark.

That had been 11 years ago, and I still have that dream. Every time I have it my heart feels like it is ripped from my chest as the girl is taken away from me. I usually only have it once a month but this week I have had it every night. After I got my mark, my mom was confused and took me to the doctor. That was no help. He didn't know how that could happen and even contemplated turning my mother in for giving me a tattoo at such a young age, but I told him what happened, and he didn't turn her in. After a lot of research my mom found out that the mark signifies that you found your true soulmate. Apparently, it was a myth and my parents have never heard of it happening and they think it is a myth or something which cannot be explained. But there was no dyeing it I was marked and the only explanation that the research pointed to was that it was soulmate mark because the girl had the exact same. The worst part is I have never seen that little girl since. I don't know her name or how old she is. I used to study my mark to see if it gave me any clues, but all I got was her name probably starts with a S since the other letter was a B that I think represents me. I have come to just call her my mysterious S. I wonder what S is like, what she is doing, what she looks like now. There are so many things I wonder about S, but I have to stop myself from thinking about her because it starts to hurt my heart when I do.

I groan and roll out of bed and look at the time. It is 4:30 am still early, but I know I won't be able to go back to sleep. I decided to start getting ready for school, at least it is Friday, but I have early morning cheer practice. I hop in the shower and get dressed in my cheer outfit. I look at my wrist one more time running my fingers gently over my markings. I wonder if I will ever see her again.

I have been loyal to this mysterious S ever since I have gotten my marking. When I was younger, and boys would come up to me to ask me out I would just show them my marking. They would give me a weird look and I would explain I already have a soulmate. They would roll their eyes and walk away. My best friends have tried to get me to date other people and tried setting me up on a blind date. I just don't see the point of dating other people if I already know it won't work out. I already know that I have a soulmate and other people won't cut it for me. I don't know how I will find her again, but I just have a feeling that it will happen.

I grab a banana and make my way out of the house. My parents have already left for work, and I am able to take my own car to school. I check the dash when I hop in, 5 o'clock and practice is at 6. I still have time, but I figure I can just warm up early and dance a little bit before the others arrive.

I make it to school and head for the gym. I set up the speakers. Coach lets me dance and set up choreography all the time, so I am used to setting everything up. I stretch then start the music and lose myself to the rhythm.

I don't know how long I have been dancing when I feel hands grab my waist and a body press into mine.

"Hey Britt." he whispers in my ear as he easily follows my moves. I slow down our dance as the music stops. He lets me go as I walk over to the stereo and shut it off. I turn to face him. He is tall and lean and very good looking. Mike has been my best friend since 3rd grade where we met in dance class, and we have always been super close ever since. We always have fun dancing together and hanging out. When we first met, he admitted that he had a crush on me, but I told him I already had a soulmate and would like to be friends. He is so kind and understanding that he said we could be friends and now he is like a brother to me. He doesn't always get why I am waiting on my soulmate, but many arguments later he has given up trying to understand.

"So, you ready for your cheer competition tomorrow?" Mike asks me.

"Yeah, we are so going to win it." I beam at him.

He rolls his eyes "well yeah with your choreography I don't see how you could lose."

"Psh you know it." I wiggle my hips. He just laughs at my goofy ness.

"Yeah, yeah." he looks at me with a more serious expression. "As long as you get a little more sleep." He says and runs his thumb across my cheek. "Is it the 'soulmate' dream again?"

He questions taking a step back.

"It's not a dream, it is a memory." I put my hand on my hip getting defensive. "I have been having it every night this week. It is so weird I usually only have it about once a month, but this week has been every night. I can't sleep again when I wake up from it."

"Well, I don't know what that is all about, and I have told you a hundred times I really don't believe all this one soulmate true mark bullshit." Mike shrugs his shoulders. "I can, however, see you need a good sleep, and it is wearing you out. You look rough B."

"I am not getting into this with you again Mike I just feel like something is about to happen."

Then out of nowhere I am plowed over and engulfed in a big bear hug.

"Hey Sugar." I smile as I feel her tighten the hug.

"Coach said to come get you, we are outside on the field today." I look up at the gym wall and see that I am running late.

"Shoot I lost track of time. I got to go Mike, have fun in the dance room." I say knowing that is why he came in early and was just distracted by the music in the gym.

"Yeah, yeah if you are down for it, we could go out to eat tonight."

I smile and wave "Sounds good Mikey!"

I walk with Sugar out to practice. "Why don't you just date him already?" She asks.

I hold up my right wrist. "I am already taken."

"Yeah, by some girl you haven't seen since you were 6." She huffs. "I am just saying you don't know if you will ever even see her again, why not have fun in the meantime."

"It would just feel wrong." I say with a shrug. "Besides, he is like my brother."

"For all you know she could be getting it on with lots of people and not feeling an ounce bad about it." Sugar shrugs. "Or you know you could always hook Mike up with me." She wiggles her eyebrows.

I bump her shoulder and laugh. "Yeah, I will be sure to throw your name around more often." Sugar had been one of my good friends since 7th grade when she transferred to our school. We both joined the Cheerios together and when I say I have been forced on a few blind dates she is the one to thank. Even though she can drive me nuts she has a great heart and I love her.

We get stopped by coach Sue.

"Peirce! What were you doing? You are late!"

"I was -"

"Laps!" Coach yells before I can even finish.

I hit the track and started to run without even trying to defend myself. Maybe a few laps will wake me up more.

After lap 8 the coach stops me and tells me to go stand with the other girls.

"No practice after school. I expect you all to be here bright and early and on time!" She looks directly at me. "6 am tomorrow we meet on the bus. I expect you to be prepared. We will be winning tomorrow so get rest and don't get hurt! Now leave I don't want to see you again till tomorrow!"

We all ran to the locker room and away from the coach.

The day passed by like normal. I was bored and barely paying attention in my classes because they were too hard. When class finally ended, I met up with Mike and Sugar to eat at Breadstix.

"I don't know why we even choose to come here before our competition." Sugar complains and drools over Mike's pasta dish. "All we can even eat is the salad."

I try to sneakily try to reach my fork over and steal one of Mike's meatballs. He catches me and gives me a dirty look.

"Hey, you can't have that!"

I pout. "But it looks so good, and salads never fill me up." Sugar and I just give Mike puppy dog eyes and we sit across from him and stare at his food.

He sighs and puts down his fork and runs his hands through his hair. "Why did we even choose to come here tonight then if you two" he points at us "were just going to make me feel guilty for eating."

We both shrug. "We just have to get our frustration out somehow and making you feel guilty feels like the best way." Sugar says and smiles.

"You two are ridiculous." Mike goes back to eating.

I suddenly feel a tingle on my wrist and reach down to stroke my mark. I look around and don't see anything.

"What was that about?" Mike asks with a mouthful of spaghetti while nodding to my wrist.

"I don't know, it just started to tingle."

Sugar looks excited and pops up and starts to look around. "Is she here!" She exclaimed while trying to look around the restaurant. "Hey S!" she tries again.

I quickly grab her hips and pull her down.

"Are you crazy! What do you think you are doing?"

"Just looking around for mystery S." She shrugs and goes back to eating.

I put my head in my hands. "Ugh" I groan "I don't know if she is here, I just said I got a tingle."

Sugar rolls her eyes. "Yeah prolly means she is close. What does she look like again?"

"Well, when I was 6 she had long raven hair, beautiful caramel tan skin and mocha eyes that were so deep." I say getting lost in thought. "She had the best smile and these cute dimples on her cheeks."

"Umm hmm." I hear Sugar say pulling me out of thought and I look at her as she is completely turned around in our booth peeking just barely over the seat so that just her eyes and hair is visible. "Ohhhhh!" she exclaims "That could be her! Over there at the takeout area leaving with a bag! Hey S!" She exclaims again and dunks down in her seat.

I look quickly over at the door that Sugar was looking at and see a girl leaving. The girl briefly looks around the restaurant. I barely get a glimpse of mocha eyes and raven hair swish around in a ponytail before she is out the door. Before I can even think or contemplate my actions I fly out of the booth and make a quick run for the door. I barrel out the door and stop in my tracks.
