But be warned: Dead men tell no tales!
Our tale begins one day in the early 17th century, 1720 A.D. to be exact. A massive ship sails through a thick bank of grey, unnatural fog. Its name: The HMS Dauntless, a first-rate Ship of the Line and pride of the British Royal Navy. The warship was sailing on its voyage from England to the British settlement of Port Royal, Jamaica. As the Dauntless sails through the Caribbean Sea, a young girl stood at the bow rail, gazing out at the sea and singing a pirate's shanty. Her name: Elizabeth Swann.
Elizabeth Swann was a spirited girl who dreamed of a life of adventure, fascinated by the subject of piracy and life at sea. As a young girl from England, she had fair skin, long, dirty blonde hair and brown eyes, wearing a fine silk white dress.
Elizabeth:
Drink up me hearties, yo ho.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We extort, we pilfer, we filch, and sack,
Drink up...
Elizabeth's song was interrupted when a hand grabs her right-arm from behind, causing her to gasp and spin around. The hand belonged to a sailor named Joshamee Gibbs.
Joshamee Gibbs was an English veteran sail dog and a skilled sailor from Great Britain with an encyclopedic knowledge of pirate lore of the seven seas. He had fair skin, blue eyes, black hair with a small ponytail tied in the back by a small bowtie, and a beard which connects to his hair with sideburns, wearing a tan bowler hat, a dark brown coat with a white shirt underneath, tan pants, and black boots.
"Quiet, missy! Cursed pirates sail these waters. You don't want to bring 'em down upon us now, do ye?" Gibbs says
"Mr. Gibbs, that will do." A voice says
The voice belonged to James Norrington, an officer of the British Royal Navy. Behind him on his left was Weatherby Swann, Elizabeth's father.
James Norrington was a man of great respect, status, and authority who took pride in his loyal service to His Majesty King George II of England. Not only that, he was also devoted to the laws against piracy and dedicated to eradicating pirates all over the world, believing himself to be the purveyor of justice. He had fair skin, green eyes, and brown hair. As a member of the Royal Navy, Norrington was dressed in uniform, wearing white breeches, white stockings, black shoes with buckles, a white linen shirt, a sleeveless waistcoat, a white cravat, a black tricorne trimmed with gold, as well as a blue woolen broadcloth coat.
Weatherby Swann was the Governor of England and representative of the British Royal Navy, appointed by the King of England himself. Although he was usually charming and polite, his royal status demanded certain authority. Weatherby Swann had fair skin, brown eyes, and grey balding hair, wearing aristocratic attire. His fashionable frock coat was made by his London tailor, while his frilled cravat came from Paris. Other attire included a tricorn hat trimmed with luxurious ostrich feathers and a curled, grey wig that covered his head, both essential parts of his appearance.
"She was singing about pirates! It's bad luck to sing about pirates with us mired in this unnatural fog. Mark my words." Gibbs says pointing to Elizabeth with his right index finger
"Consider them marked. On your way." Norrington says
"Aye, lieutenant." Gibbs says nodding his head
Gibbs walks past the Navy Lieutenant and the Governor, muttering to himself.
"It's bad luck to have a woman on board. Even a miniature one." Gibbs mutters
The sailor takes out a leather flask full of rum and takes a quick swig of his drink, then sets off to his duties aboard the ship.
"I think it'd be rather exciting to meet a pirate." Elizabeth says
Norrington smiles in humor, though he kept his posture with his hands behind his back.
"Think again, Miss Swann." Norrington says
The Navy Lieutenant walks up to the bow, taking Elizabeth's side as he gazed out into the fog on her left.
"Vile and dissolute creatures, the lot of them. I intend to see to it that every man who sails under a pirate flag or wears a pirate brand gets what he deserves... A short drop and a sudden stop." Norrington says
Elizabeth was confused by what Norrington meant until she turned to Gibbs, who held up his tie with his right-hand, and made a face with his tongue hanging out, looking as though he had been hanged on a noose. The little girl gasped slightly as she stared at him. Governor Swann steps up to Lieutenant Norrington to speak on behalf of his child.
"Lieutenant, I appreciate your fervor, but I'm concerned about the effect this subject will have upon my daughter." Weatherby says
"My apologies, Governor Swann." Norrington says
Norrington turns to his right and walks away, tending to his own duties on the ship, leaving Governor Swann with his daughter.
"Actually, I find it all fascinating." Elizabeth says
"Yes. That's what concerns me." Weatherby says
Now, it was the Governor's turn to leave as he walks away, leaving Elizabeth out on the ship's bow. The young girl gazes back out at the sea and saw a yellow open parasol floating in the water, drifting past the ship on its starboard side. But what she saw next made her gasp in shock. Floating on a piece of driftwood was a young boy who appeared to be the same age as Elizabeth, lying unconscious on his back.
"Look! A boy! There's a boy in the water!" Elizabeth exclaims
Norrington, Governor Swann, Gibbs, and all Navy men and sailors look over towards Elizabeth as she cried out in alarm, then look down and see the unconscious boy in the sea.
"Man overboard!" Norrington exclaims
Turning to the crew, the Navy Lieutenant barks orders to his men.
"Man the ropes! Fetch a hook! Haul him aboard!" Norrington commands
The crew onboard the Dauntless work quickly to bring the young boy aboard to safety. It wasn't long before he was brought onto the ship with Gibbs lifting him out in his arms. The old sea dog sets the boy down and everyone gathers around him. Once he was brought onboard, Elizabeth got a good look at him. The boy had fair skin and short dark brown hair, wearing a dark brown vest with a white long-sleeved shirt underneath, dark brown trousers, and black buckle shoes.
"How is he? Is he okay?" Elizabeth asks concerned for the boy
"He's still breathing." Norrington says
Gibbs looks back out at the sea and his face is filled with horror.
"Mary, Mother of God!" Gibbs gasps
Everyone follows his gaze, and they all stare out at a horrifying shipwreck. Before them was a merchant vessel, torn in half and on fire with flaming debris floating about everywhere. Its sails had completely burned away, leaving just the charred wooden masts.
"What happened here?" Weatherby asks
"Most likely the powder magazine. Merchant vessels run heavily armed." Norrington says
"Lot of good it did them. Everyone's thinking it, I'm saying it. Pirates!" Gibbs says
"There's no proof of that! It was probably an accident." Weatherby says
Wanting to investigate, Norrington walks across the deck, issuing commands to the men trailing behind him.
"Rouse the captain immediately. Heave to and take in sail. Launch the boats." Norrington says
While Norrington sends out his men to investigate the wreckage, another Navy man picks up the boy and brings him up to upper level of the stern in the back of the ship. Governor Swann bends down to his daughter, giving her a task of his own.
"Elizabeth, I want you to accompany the boy. He'll be in your charge. Take care of him." Weatherby says
Elizabeth nods her head and goes up toward the stern, while the Governor leaves and heads off elsewhere on the Dauntless. Down in the sea, a group of Navy men head out on their boat toward the still burning shipwreck to investigate. Back on the Dauntless, Elizabeth runs her right-hand along the boy's head, brushing away a small bit of his hair, when his brown eyes suddenly snap wide open, screaming and grabbing Elizabeth's arm, causing her to gasp and jump in fright. He soon releases her and relaxes, panting heavily for breath. Being the kind soul that she was, the little girl introduces herself.
"It's okay. My name's Elizabeth Swann."
The young boy responds, giving Elizabeth his name.
"W-Will Turner."
"I'm watching over you, Will." Elizabeth says
Will drops back down onto the deck and his heads falls limp to the right as he slips back into unconsciousness. Elizabeth continues to watch over Will until she notices something peculiar resting on his chest. It was a gold medallion. The young girl removes the medallion from around Will's neck and holds it in her right-hand, gazing down upon it with much interest. The gold coin appeared to be of an ancient design with eight arrows around it's sides like a compass, and there were Aztec symbols around the inner circle. But what really captured Elizabeth's attention was the ominous skull engraved in the center. Seeing this trinket in Will's possession led Elizabeth to only one conclusion.
"You're a Pirate!" Elizabeth gasps
"Has he said anything?" A voice asks
Elizabeth quickly turns around to see Lieutenant Norrington and two men standing behind her, eager to know more about the boy. She kept the medallion hidden away in her hands behind her back as she faced them.
"His name's William Turner. That's all I found out." Elizabeth says
Norrington stares down at Will for a moment, then looks back at his men behind him, gesturing his head back to the young boy.
"Take him below." Norrington says
The two Navy men pick up Will and bring him down to the lower deck of the Dauntless, while Norrington heads off to check on the update of the investigation, leaving Elizabeth alone on the stern. The young girl gazes upon the medallion once more as she holds it up in her hands, then she catches movement out of the corner of her eye. Looking up, she caught a glimpse of a tall, three-masted ship with tattered sails dark as the moonless night and a soot-colored hull moving silently through the thick fog. At the top of the highest mast flew a black flag, one that had the same skull as on the medallion, only it had crossed swords behind it. Elizabeth's eyes widened with fear. It was a pirate ship! Immediately, the young girl shuts her eyes closed.
(Present time)
Eight years later to the present, Elizabeth Swann, now a young woman, opens her eyes to her bedroom in the Grand Mansion of Port Royal, awakening from her dream, wearing only white garments. Rising up, Elizabeth grabs the candlelight from the left-side dresser alongside her bed and walks over to a chest of drawers on the other side of the room. She pulls open the drawers and goes through her items until she finds the medallion she had kept hidden inside a secret compartment. Elizabeth picks up the medallion in her right-hand and runs her thumb over the gold coin. Then, she looks up at the rectangular mirror infront of her and puts it on around her neck, staring at herself and admiring her treasure. Suddenly, four sharp knocks are heard at the bedroom door, causing the young woman to spin around to her left.
"Elizabeth?" A voice calls
Elizabeth recognized the voice. It was her father, Governor Swann. Moving fast, she runs over to her bed and throws on her nightgown, then tucks away the medallion inside.
"Are you all right? Are you decent?" Weatherby asks
"Yes. Yes." Elizabeth says
The door to Elizabeth's room opens and Governor Swann enters with two maids behind him.
"Oh, still abed at this hour?" Weatherby asks
The maids walk over to the closed windows of the bedroom and open them up to a sunny day with Port Royal bustling with activity outside.
Port Royal was a major city and harbor town situated on the western end of Palisadoes in Jamaica, accessible via its large harbor, which was used by both merchant and Navy ships. The town was situated inland, stretching back from the harbor, where shops jostle for space with Port Royal's many taverns and inns. The Grand Mansion was built upon a hill far that overlooked the town, far from the squalor of the docks and slums. A large green mountain stood visible in the distance to the left looking out the window.
"It's a beautiful day." Weatherby says
After admiring the view of Port Royal, the Governor turns to his daughter.
"I have a gift for you." Weatherby says
One of the maids walks up to the Governor's right-side with a beige clothes box in her hands. Governor Swann pulls off the top lid, revealing an elegant, gold and white lace dress with floral patterns decorating the sides and a more abstract pattern adorning the front. Elizabeth holds up the dress in her hands, admiring her new gift.
"Oh, it's beautiful." Elizabeth says
"Isn't it?" Weatherby says
As she looks upon her new dress, the young woman glances back at her father on her right. The only reason he would present her with such a beautiful dress is if it were for something important.
"May I inquire as to the occasion?" Elizabeth asks
"Does a father need an occasion to dote upon his daughter?" Weatherby asks smiling
Elizabeth walks off to another side of the room with her dress to try it on behind a wooden shade, and the two maids follow to assist her.
"Actually, I... uh... I had hoped you may wear it for the ceremony today." Weatherby says
"The ceremony?" Elizabeth asks
"Captain Norrington's promotion ceremony." Weatherby says
"I knew it!" Elizabeth says leaning her head out the right-side of the shade
"Commodore Norrington, as he's about to become. Fine gentleman, don't you think? He fancies you, you know." Weatherby says
On the other side of the shade, Elizabeth stood with her arms stretched out to her sides as the maids helped dress her. One of the maids works on the front of her dress, while the other straps on the corset behind her. Elizabeth gasps as the corset was tied on tightly around her body. She found it to be highly restricting and uncomfortable.
"Elizabeth? How's it coming?" Weatherby asks
"It's difficult to say." Elizabeth says
"I-I'm told it's the latest fashion in London." Weatherby says
"Well, women in London must've learned not to breathe!" Elizabeth says
As the women continued dressing Elizabeth, one the mansion's butlers enters the room with news for the Governor.
"My Lord, you have a visitor." The Butler says
Down in the mansion's lobby, a young man waited for the Governor. It was William Turner, now grown up with shoulder-length hair slicked backwards, and a faint mustache and goatee. He wore a white shirt with bishop sleeves and a V-neck, exposing his chest. The collar of this shirt was folded over a brown vest only halfway buttoned at the bottom. The vest sports a small pocket on either side, below a brown belt with a gold buckle that Will wears at his waist. His pants are dark grey/navy blue breeches with three vertical buttons on the far side of either leg. And completing his outfit were light grey knee-high socks and brown buckled shoes.
After being rescued from sea eight years ago, Will Turner had developed a life in Port Royal, working as an apprentice for the local blacksmith, John Brown, who owned a smithy shop in town. In his left-arm was long brown case with a newly forged sword inside, to be given to James Norrington at his promotion ceremony. Soon, Governor Swann descends down the staircase behind Will with his butler.
"Ah, Mr. Turner. Good to see you again." Weatherby greets
"Good day, sir. I have your order." Will greets
Will places the case down on a nearby table on his right and the case splits open, presenting the sword to the Governor. The sword was small, one-handed, straight, light, and roughly a meter in length with a steel blade, carried in a black sheath. The handle was black with gold filigree decorated into it. Will picks up the sword and hands it to Governor Swann, who pulls the sword out from its sheath and holds it up in his right-hand, carefully examining the weapon.
"The blade is folded steel. That's gold filigree laid into the handle." Will says
Will holds out his right-hand to the Governor.
"If I may?" Will says
Governor Swann hands the sword back to Will, and the young man skillfully balances the blade on his index finger.
"Perfectly balanced. The tang is nearly the width of the blade." Will says
Will Turner tosses up the sword, much to the Governor's surprise, and catches it safely in his hands, holding it out with the blade pointed away. Weatherby Swann chuckles and grabs the sword by its hilt, carefully taking it from Will.
"Oh! Ha. Impressive. Very impressive. I know Commodore Norrington's going to be pleased with this." Weatherby says
The Governor slides the sword back into its sheath and hands it back to Will Turner, who returns the weapon to its case.
"Do pass my compliments onto your master." Weatherby says
"Hmm?" Will says
Young Turner looks up at Weatherby Swann and stares at him for a moment. He was rarely complimented for his work as a blacksmith, but being the humble man that he was, William acknowledges the Governor.
"I shall. A craftsman is always pleased to hear his work is appreciated." Will says
Governor Swann and Will Turner soon turn toward the stairs and watched as Elizabeth descends down, fully dressed in her new outfit, wearing a flat matching hat over her head.
"Elizabeth. You look absolutely stunning." Weatherby says
Elizabeth Swann was delighted to see Will Turner. The two of them had become good friends over the years since they were children, and one was always happy to see another.
"Will! It's so good to see you!" Elizabeth says
The young woman descends to the bottom of the stairs and walks up to the young blacksmith.
"I had a dream about you last night." Elizabeth says
"About me?" Will asks intrigued
"About the day we met. Do you remember?" Elizabeth asks
"How could I forget, Miss Swann?" Will says smiling
"Will, how many times must I ask you to call me Elizabeth?" Elizabeth asks
"At least once more, Miss Swann. As always." Will says
"There. See? At least the boy has a sense of propriety. Now, we really must be going." Weatherby says gesturing his right-hand to Will
The butler opens up the doors to the mansion for Governor Swann and his daughter. Elizabeth looks over at the doors leading outside, then looks back at Will.
"Good day, Mr. Turner." Elizabeth says
Elizabeth Swann heads outside with her father and two of their servants, who carried the sword for Commodore Norrington and Weatherby Swann's fashionable attire. Will Turner also follows them out but stops outside the door of the mansion.
"Good day... Elizabeth." Will says
Governor Swann and his daughter board a carriage pulled by two white horses, and they ride out past the metal gates, heading to Fort Charles for the ceremony. Will descends down the five stone steps of the mansion and watches as the woman of his dreams sets off on her journey. It was clear that William Turner had developed feelings for Elizabeth Swann, but he was too shy to admit them to her. With his task completed, the young blacksmith heads off back to town.
Downhill from the Governor's Mansion, the two Keyblade Wielders: Devon and Sora, arrive in Port Royal at the eastern edge of the harbor town with their companions: Donald Duck and Goofy, the magician and knight of Disney Castle, Luna, Devon's female Night Fury dragoness, Spyro and Cynder, the purple dragon and black dragoness from the Dragon Realms, and the Viking Teens of Berk along with their dragons, Hiccup and his Night Fury, Toothless, Astrid and her Deadly Nadder, Stormfly, Fishlegs and his Gronckle, Meatlug, Snotlout and his Monstrous Nightmare, Hookfang, and the Thorston Twins, Tuffnut and Ruffnut with their Hideous Zippleback, Barf and Belch.
In this world, Devon wore a black leather coat with large cuffs, a tan fur collar and gray lining, hemmed with buttons in the front made from silver. On his head, Devon wore a gray bandana and a black tricorne hat with a silver Kingdom Hearts sigil faded on the left-side. Gold designs decorated the edges of Devon's hat, the front and back of his coat, the top of his shoulders, down the sides of his sleeves, and around his cuffs. Around his waist, he wore a brown leather belt with a silver square buckle and a double tongue. Underneath his coat, he wore a dingy, loose white shirt and a gray vest that exposes his chest, both tucked beneath his belt. He also wore gray linen trousers, and a hybrid-version of his black boots and period appropriate seaboots. The legs of his pants were tucked into his boots. He still wore his gauntlets and his signature Kingdom Hearts chain necklace.
Sora wore a dingy white undershirt, striped, gray linen trousers, and his shoes have merged into a hybrid of period appropriate seaboots and high-top sneakers, which have turned a faded black. He wore a fine silk, crimson waistcoat hemmed with gold and bronze buttons, which is tied with a faded brown leather belt that sports a small buckle and an anachronistic double tongue. Over which, he dons a patched grey, leather coat with large cuffs, a dingy white/brown fur collar, and fitted with buttons likely made from brass or bronze. Sora's trademark spikes were heavily concealed beneath a faded blue bandanna and a faded-black tricorne hat with a cross-shaped stitch on the right-hand side, and a crown faded in on the left.
Donald wore a dirty white shirt with a deep V-neck collar and rolled sleeves under a fraying, faded blue or gray vest with large copper buttons. In place of his hat, he wears a tattered blue bandanna around his head.
Goofy wore a dirty white collared shirt and beige pants roughly torn off at the knee, faded brown turn-down leather boots, and dirty white gloves. Around his neck was a fraying, pale green ascot which matches the tattered bandanna around his head. On his waist, he wore a faded brown leather belt studded with large medallions over a faded orange-and-yellow striped sash.
Hiccup wore a beige vest with a white, long-sleeve shirt underneath, and dark brown trousers. Around his waist, he wore a black leather belt with a bronze square buckle. He still had his prosthetic leg, and he wore his one brown boot.
Astrid wore a black leather vest with a light blue V-neck shirt underneath, tan pants, and black cuffed boots. Tied around her waist was a strip of white cloth.
Fishlegs wore a brown leather vest, a white and blue striped shirt underneath with a V-neck collar and rolled sleeves, white and red striped trousers, and brown boots. He also wore a large black belt with a bronze square buckle.
Snotlout wore a black fur vest with a red and black tiger-striped shirt, brown trousers, and dark brown boots.
Being twins, Tuffnut and Ruffnut both wore a dark gray shirt, tan and brown striped trousers, black boots, and numerous brown, black, bronze, and silver beads in their dreadlocks. The only difference was Tuffnut had a bronze coin on one dreadlock near the right-side of his head, and Ruffnut had a silver coin on one dreadlock near the left-side of her head.
"Wow." Donald says
"This place is..." Sora says
"Kinda different." Goofy says
Devon looks down at himself and was the first to notice that his clothes had changed. He tugs on his coat and gazes down at the gold patterns that decorated his attire.
"Huh. Check out our clothes." Devon says
Sora, Donald, Goofy, and the Viking Teens look themselves over and they too notice the changes of their apparel.
"Nice." Snotlout says
"Hmm. Not bad." Astrid says
"C'mon. Let's take a look around." Devon says
The heroes walked along the streets of Port Royal and glanced around at their surroundings. There were shops and taverns everywhere they looked, and they watched as the townsfolk went about their business as usual, whether it was moving cargo such as crates and barrels from ships anchored at the docks, or just going for a stroll. Many of them were too busy to notice the new arrivals, although a few people spared a moment to glance at the world-travelers, including one or two Royal Marines that were patrolling the streets. Luna looks to her right and observes a woman as she passes them with her white goat, which had a rope leash around its neck, while Toothless observes a man on his left, rolling a large barrel with his hands off towards a tavern. Donald, Goofy, Spyro and Cynder look over to their right and they observed a group of men hauling crates to a building and stacking them off to the side along with the others in a huge pile.
"Everyone looks busy." Donald says
"Looks like they got lots of cargo to sort out." Goofy says
"Kinda reminds me of Berk." Hiccup says
Suddenly, a woman's scream pierces the air, followed by several others, and dozens of men and women fled down the streets in fear, running in the opposite direction of the group.
"Help!" A woman screams
"Run! Run for your lives!" A man screams
Devon, Sora, and Co. watched the townsfolk as they screamed and fled past them, then turned and looked at each other.
"Something's up." Sora says
"Organization XIII?" Fishlegs asks
"Or the Heartless." Luna says
The heroes turned back and faced the street where the colonists came from and saw several redcoat wielding musket rifles heading off to investigate the disturbance.
"Only one way to find out." Devon says
Devon and Sora jump onto Luna's back, mounting her saddle with Sora sitting in behind Devon, and the female Night Fury takes off running down the street, carrying her two riders with Spyro and Cynder right behind them. Hiccup climbs up onto Toothless' back and pats the side of his dragon's head twice with his right-hand.
"You heard him, bud. Let's go!" Hiccup says
Toothless roars in agreement and he sprints off with his one-legged rider.
"Come on!" Astrid says
Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Tuffnut and Ruffnut mount their dragons as well with Donald rising behind Astrid on Stormfly and Goofy behind Fishlegs on Meatlug, and they all race to catch up with the others.
Further into town, a company of twelve Royal Marines led by a Royal Officer stood off against a group of Heartless, specifically Shadows, Soldiers, Large Bodies, Air Pirates, and Earth Cores in an empty street. These men were trained for combat on both land and sea, but never had they dealt with Heartless. Regardless, the Royal Marines were sworn to their duty to protect Port Royal and its citizens from these dark creatures. The redcoats stood in formation, then got down on one knee and aim their muskets at the Heartless. Behind them, the Navy Officer had his right-hand raised high up until he throws it downward and shouts an order.
"Fire!" The Royal Officer commands
The Royal Marines all shoot their rifles in unison with smoke and small iron ball shots exiting the long barrels of their firearms. Three shots hit three Large Bodies, only to bounce harmlessly off their huge bellies, while the other nine shots destroy four Shadows, three Soldiers, and two Air Pirates. In response, one of the Earth Cores burrows underground for a few seconds, then emerges in its sandy Tower Form. A large lump forms at the base of the Earth Tower, traveling up to its throat, and the sandy Heartless spits out a large rock, which hits the ground close to the Royal Marines and explodes in a cluster of smaller rocks. The redcoats were sent flying across the street, but they recovered and got back on their feet. Nine more Shadows emerged from the ground, six more Soldiers appeared on the ground, and four more Air Pirates appeared in the air, replacing those that were destroyed and adding on to the large count of Heartless.
"There's too many!" Royal Marine #1 exclaims
"We need reinforcements!" Royal Marine #2 shouts
Another large lump forms in the Earth Tower's body as it prepared to shoot another rock at the Royal Marines. But just as the Heartless was about to attack, a blue fireball shoots down into the Earth Tower's open mouth. A few seconds later, the fireball explodes, destroying the sandy Heartless from within as it falls forward to the ground. The shot came from Luna, who leaps up over the redcoats with Devon and Sora on her back. The female Night Fury slides to a stop and the two boys jump off and summon their Keyblades: Soul Calibur and Kingdom Key into their hands. Devon got into his stance, holding his crystal Keyblade infront of him with both hands. Luna stood alongside him with her body curled around the right side of her rider, while Sora stood on their left with his Keyblade held at his side. Then, Donald, Goofy, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch arrive to join their friends, running past the confused Royal Marines.
"We'll handle this! Get everyone to safety! Go!" Devon says glancing back to the redcoats over his right-shoulder
The Royal Officer stares at Devon and his group for a moment, not sure what to make of them. However, it was clear that these strangers were here to help, and it was likely they knew how to deal with the evil creatures. Turning to the marines under his charge, the Officer gives out an order.
"You heard him, men! Escort the civilians to safety, block out the street, and hold the line! Ensure nothing gets past!" The Royal Officer commands
"Sir!" Royal Marine #3 says
As the redcoats run off to their tasks, Devon turns back forward to face the Heartless alongside his friends. Unknown to everyone, Will Turner had made his way back into town and he hid away around the side of a building, watching the group with curiosity.
The battle starts with Devon leaping forward across the street at the first Shadow in his view, pulling Soul Calibur across his body, and slices through the dark creature with a right slash. He dispatches four more Shadows with an overhead slash, a second right slash, a left uppercut slash, and a backflip slash, then cuts down three Soldiers with a spinning right slash. An Air Pirate descends toward Devon with its right-hand pulled back, its fist glowing with a dark light, but he jumps away, dodging its downward punch, and hurls his crystal Keyblade as a counterattack. Soul Calibur spins through the air and slices through the Heartless like a saw blade, then loops around like a boomerang and destroys another Air Pirate before returning to Devon's hand. A Large Body rushes toward the Keyblade Wielder to ram him with it's glowing red belly, but Devon slides around to the right and strikes the rotund Heartless in the back with a jumping reverse roundhouse slash, knocking the Large Body down onto its belly. Then, he leaps up over the Heartless with an inverted flip and finishes it off with a strong downward thrust.
Sora targets four Shadows, three Soldiers and two Air Pirates and uses an Aero spell, creating a small whirlwind that sucks up the Heartless and spins them around in a vortex, leaving the dark creatures helpless in the wind. Then, the spikey-haired teen leaps up into the whirlwind and cuts down all the Heartless with three right spinning slashes. An Earth Core leaps forward at Sora as he lands on his feet, spinning sideways like a drill, but the Keyblade Wielder blocks the attack and knocks away the Heartless with a wide right slash. Afterwards, Sora aims his Kingdom Key at the Earth Core and shoots a burst of ice crystals, freezing the rock-covered creature in ice, and shatters it to pieces with a thrusting strike.
Nearby, Donald raises his Mage Staff and casts a Thunder spell, summoning a bombardment of lightning bolts that strikes down on two Soldiers and three Air Pirates, while Goofy strikes three Shadows with his Knight Shield, taking them both out with two bashes and a right uppercut strike.
Spyro shoots a fireball at an Earth Core using his Fire Breath, while Cynder shoots a dark fireball at another Earth Core using her Shadow Breath. Afterwards, the purple dragon and black dragoness turn and face a group of Shadows, Soldiers, and Air Pirates. Spyro swipes his claws left and right at three Soldiers, then rams his horns at another. Three Air Pirates fly towards Spyro, approaching him from the left, but the purple dragon makes short work of them with his Electric Breath, shooting yellow bolts of electricity from his mouth to vaporize the Heartless. On Cynder's side of the battle, the black dragoness swipes her claws at two Shadow Heartless and spins around to the right, swinging her tail at another Shadow. A Soldier approaches Cynder from behind, but she kicks away the Heartless using both her hind legs.
Luna shoots three plasma blasts at three Shadows infront of them, then swings her tail at two Soldiers, knocking the Heartless aside in one swoop. An Air Pirate flies forward at Luna with its left-leg extended to kick her. But before the Heartless could reach her, Toothless jumps up with Hiccup riding his saddle and catches it by its leg. He violently shakes the Air Pirate around several times until he throws the evil creature down to the ground and stomps his left-foot down on its body, crushing it into oblivion.
"Nice catch, bud!" Hiccup says patting his Night Fury head twice with his left-hand
Toothless looks over at Luna on his right and nods his head at her. The female Night Fury smiles and nods back, and the two dragons focus back to the fight at hand.
Stormfly shoots a burning blast of her Magnesium fire at five Shadows, unleashing a flowing torrent of orange sparks as she moves her head from left to right. Then, the Deadly Nadder and her rider turn their attention toward four Air Pirates as they approached.
"Take 'em down, girl!" Astrid says
The blue and yellow dragon squawks in acknowledgment and whips up her tail, protruding her spines, then shoots several spikes at the airborne Heartless, landing multiple shots on each of them.
Meatlug shoots a blast of molten lava at an Earth Core, destroying the Heartless, then turns to her left as another Earth Core heads straight for her and her rider. Unfortunately for the Heartless, the Gronckle was hungry as she licked her chops, and the rock-covered creature looked tasty. Fishlegs noticed the hungry look on his dragon's face, and he patted the side of her head twice with his left-hand with encouragement.
"You hungry, Meatlug? Well, get ready. Here it comes." Fishlegs says
Within moments, the Earth Core leaps forward at Fishlegs and his dragon, and straight into Meatlug's large open mouth. The female Gronckle chomps down her snack with four strong bites, then swallows the Heartless down into her body. A few seconds later, a loud, deep belch escapes Meatlug's mouth, and she licks her chops again with a satisfied expression.
Snotlout and Hookfang stood against a group of Soldiers and Earth Cores, and the Monstrous Nightmare growled menacingly at the Heartless.
"Roast 'em, Hookfang!" Snotlout says
Hookfang rears his head back and breathes a stream of flames upon the Earth Cores and Soldiers, reducing them to ashes. Two Soldiers run toward the Monstrous Nightmare and his rider, but the red-orange dragon lights his tail on fire and whips them away. Catching movement in the corner of their eye, Snotlout and Hookfang look over to their right and saw a Large Body sliding across the street towards them on its belly. Hookfang rams his head into the Heartless, causing it to bounce and roll backwards onto its rear. But the Monstrous Nightmare wasn't done yet. Before the dark creature could recover, the dragon snatches up the Large Body in his jaws, shook it around and slams it down on the ground several times, then throws away, sending the rotund Heartless rolling into five Soldiers like a bowling ball.
Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch faced off against a Large Body and a group of Shadows and Air Pirates, and the Hideous Zippleback growled and hissed, narrowing their eyes at the dark creatures.
"Gas 'em, Barf." Ruffnut says
Barf extends his long neck and breathes a huge green cloud of gas of Ammonium Nitrate and Anhydrous Hydrazine onto the Shadows. The Heartless were completely enveloped in the gas and were left disoriented and confused.
"Light 'em up, Belch!" Tuffnut says
Belch extends his head and releases an electric spark from his mouth, igniting the gas in a large explosion that obliterates the Heartless within.
After minutes of fighting Heartless, Devon and Sora cut down the last of the dark creatures, taking down the remaining two Shadows with Sora swinging his Kingdom Key at one with a wide right slash, and Devon finishing off the other with a downward strike. The heroes regroup and look around at the now empty street.
"Street's all clear." Sora says
"Yep." Devon says
The world-travelers heard footsteps and they turned around to see Will approaching them, impressed by their skills.
"Well done. My own fencing skills are not to be ashamed of, but I've never seen such creatures before." Will says
"You really think we're that good?" Sora says
"What are your names?" Will asks
Devon steps forward and introduces himself first.
"I'm Devon."
Luna walks up alongside her rider on his left, and Devon places his hand on the back of her head as he introduced his dragon.
"This is Luna." Devon says
The female Night Fury smiles and nods her head. Devon glances back at his right and gestures his right-hand at Sora, introducing him next.
"And this is my best friend, Sora." Devon says
"Hi." Sora says raising his right-hand in greeting
Donald and Goofy step forward and introduce themselves.
"Donald Duck."
"I'm Goofy."
Spyro and Cynder both step forward as they introduce themselves next.
"I'm Spyro."
"Cynder."
Finally, the Viking Teens step up one by one with Hiccup introducing himself and his dragon first, placing his right-hand on the male Night Fury's left-side.
"My name's Hiccup Haddock III. This here's my buddy, Toothless."
Next was Astrid and her Deadly Nadder.
"Astrid Hofferson. This is Stormfly."
Third was Fishlegs and his Gronckle, and the chubby Viking Teen waves his right-hand shyly in greeting.
"Hi. I'm Fishlegs Ingerman."
Meatlug gives her rider a lick, and Fishlegs wraps his arms around her large head.
"This is my baby, Meatlug." Fishlegs says
Fourth was Snotlout as he stood with his arms crossed, pointing back at his Monstrous Nightmare, who stood behind him.
"Snotlout Jorgenson. And this bad boy is Hookfang."
And lastly, there was the Thorston Twins with Tuffnut pointing to himself with his right thumb, and Ruffnut with her hands at her waist.
"I'm Tuffnut."
"Ruffnut."
Barf and Belch lowered their heads down to their riders, and the twins wrap their arms around the two heads of their dragon.
"This is Barf." Ruffnut says
"And Belch." Tuffnut says
Will extends his right-hand out to Devon and he introduces himself to the group.
"My name's William Turner. Or Will, if you'd prefer."
Devon smiles and shakes Will's hand.
"Pleasure to meet you, Will." Devon says
"Likewise. I must say, I've never met such an interesting group like yours. You must be new to Port Royal." Will says
"Well, we just arrived not too long ago." Sora says
"Where do you all come from?" Will asks
"Each of us come from different worlds. Me and Sora are from Destiny Islands. Spyro and Cynder are from the Dragon Realms." Devon says
"And we're from the island of Berk." Hiccup says
"How is it you all came here without a ship?" Will asks
"We flew here on our dragons." Hiccup says
Will looks around at Luna, Toothless, and the other dragons that stood before him.
"These are dragons?" Will asks
"Yep. Luna and Toothless are both Night Furies." Devon says
"Stormfly's a Deadly Nadder. Meatlug is a Gronckle. Hookfang is a Monstrous Nightmare. And Barf and Belch are both a Hideous Zippleback." Hiccup says
Will was amazed. Infront of him were living, breathing dragons, creatures of myth and legend. Unlike the gold-hoarding beasts he's familiar with, these dragons were actually gentle and friendly, loyal to their human companions. Toothless walks up to Will and looks at him with a soft look on his face like a tame dog, the same expression he gave Hiccup when they first met. Will slowly stretched out his right-hand to the Night Fury until his hand touched the dragon's snout. Toothless closed his eyes and crooned in content. Will gasped in stunned amazement. He was actually petting a real, live dragon.
"Remarkable." Will says
A collection of footsteps is heard, and the group looks ahead to see the Royal Officer and four of his Marines walking toward them.
"Thanks for the assistance, citizen. Not sure we could've held those creatures back on our own, especially with most of the military at Fort Charles preparing for Captain Norrington's promotion." The Royal Officer says
"Ha! Then it's a good thing we showed up when we did." Snotlout says pointing to himself with his right thumb
"Snotlout!" Astrid says
"We're just glad no one was hurt." Hiccup says
"What were those creatures anyway?" Royal Marine #3 asks
"I've never seen enemies of the like." Royal Marine #4 says
The redcoats murmured in agreement. The Royal Officer looks back at his men over his right-shoulder, then turns back to the world-travelers.
"You lot seem to know about them. Care to elucidate?" The Royal Officer says
Devon nods his head and begins to tell Will Turner and the Royal Marines about the Heartless.
"They're called the Heartless. They are creatures born from the darkness in people's hearts." Devon says
"Yeah. And wherever they go, there's trouble." Sora says
"Heartless?" Will says
"Well, it clearly shows. Those creatures could have done some serious damage to our town." The Royal Officer says
"That's not the worst of it. The Heartless hunt and stalk other people. Their only instinct is to steal hearts to create more Heartless until there is nothing but darkness left in the world." Devon says
"Hmm... That is troubling." Will says
"Has there been any other incidents like this?" Devon asks
"We've had scouts report of these... 'Heartless' lurking about in the surrounding jungle. And as soldiers, it's our duty to see to the safety of Port Royal. We've sent out men and patrols to deal with these dark creatures, but they've disappeared, vanished without a trace." The Royal Officer says
"Leave the Heartless to us! We know how to deal with them." Sora says pointing to himself with his right thumb
"Besides, we have more experience fighting them than you guys." Hiccup says
The Royal Officer looks the group over, and examines each of them, noticing Luna, Toothless, and the other dragons as they stood closely to their riders. Although they appeared to be young for combat, they did seem confident in their capabilities to dealing with Heartless, especially since they had tamed dragons in their company. And thus, he smiles and nods his head in agreement.
"Yes. I suppose you do." The Royal Officer says
Suddenly, another redcoat runs toward the group with distressing news.
"Sir! The Governor's carriage is under attack!" Royal Marine #5 says
"Where?!" The Royal Officer asks
"The stone bridge to the Northwest, near the waterfall!" Royal Marine #5 says
"Elizabeth!" Will gasps
Will turns around to his right and faces the two Keyblade Wielders.
"Devon, Sora, you must save Miss Swann!" Will says
"Don't worry. We will." Devon says
Devon, Sora and Co. climb back onto the dragons and they take off into the sky, while Will Turner and the Royal Marines watched them go.
Out on the path to Fort Charles west of the harbor town, Governor Swann, his daughter, Elizabeth, and their servants were under attack by another group of Heartless. Spear Lizards, Armored Knights, Cannon Guns, Water Cores, and Vaporflies surrounded the carriage, trapping them on the stone arch bridge. Four Royal Marines guarded the carriage on both sides, two in the front, and two at the rear. The two horses pulling the carriage reared up on their hind legs and kicked their front legs, whinnying in panic, while the coachman pulled on the reins to keep them under control. Inside the carriage, Elizabeth Swann, her father, and their servant looked fearfully at the Heartless outside their windows.
Before either side could do anything, two blue fireballs, and a red and dark blue fireball shoot down out of nowhere and destroys two Spear Lizards and two Armored Knights at the front of the carriage, followed by several spikes, which pierce four Vaporflies on both sides of the bridge. Next, a lava blast hits and destroys the Cannon Gun at the front of the carriage, while a fire blast destroys the other one at the rear. Then, a two-headed green dragon swoops down and flies around the bridge with one of the heads breathing a stream of green gas and the other igniting it with a spark from its mouth, creating a protective ring of fire around the carriage and destroying the remaining Heartless that were caught in the gas. Eventually, the fire burns out and the smoke clears with not a single Heartless in sight, much to the confusion of Governor Swann, Elizabeth and their servants as they stepped out of the carriage.
"What the devil?" Weatherby says
In that moment, Luna touches down and lands infront of Elizabeth Swann and the others with Devon and Sora on her back, followed by Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch as they landed behind them with Donald and Goofy riding on Stormfly and Meatlug same as before. The world-travelers dismount their dragons and approached the Governor of Port Royal and his party.
"Is everyone alright?" Devon asks
"Oh, yes. We're quite alright. Thank you all for the rescue." Elizabeth says
Governor Swann clears his throat and steps forward with his hands behind his back, maintaining a proud posture.
"Yes, yes. Very well done. May I ask of your names?" Weatherby says
"I'm Devon."
"I'm Sora."
Donald and Goofy step forward on Sora's left and he introduces them.
"This is Donald and Goofy." Sora says
Luna walks up to Devon's side, and he places his right-arm around the back of her head as he introduced his beloved dragon companion.
"This is Luna. She's a Night Fury." Devon says
Luna nods her head with a smile. Spyro and Cynder step up next, and Devon introduces them.
"Spyro, Cynder." Devon says
Finally, Devon introduces the Viking Teens and their dragons as they all stepped forward.
"And behind us, there's Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch." Devon says
The Governor looks upon the group with intrigue, then extends his right-hand out to Devon. Just as he did for Will Turner, Devon takes his hand and shakes it.
"Governor Weatherby Swann. I'm truly grateful. You saved our lives from those ghastly creatures."
"All in a day's work." Devon says
Elizabeth steps forward and the Governor gestures his left-hand toward her.
"This is my daughter, Elizabeth Swann." Weatherby says
"Oh! So you're Elizabeth!" Sora exclaims
"Yes. How'd you know?" Elizabeth asks
"Will Turner. He mentioned you. We just met him in town not too long ago." Hiccup says
"Are you a friend of his?" Goofy asks
"You could say that." Elizabeth says
"Where were you all heading to?" Astrid asks
"Fort Charles. For the promotion ceremony." Weatherby says
"Promotion ceremony?" Fishlegs asks
"For James Norrington. He's a good man of the British Royal Navy, and he's to be given the rank of Commodore for his years of dedicated service." Weatherby says
"Mind if we tag along. We've got nowhere else to be." Sora asks
"And it looks like you could use a dragon escort, in case more Heartless show up." Hiccup says
Governor Swann looks over at the guards behind him, then turns back to the group, accepting their offer. He was curious to learn more about them, and it seemed like a good idea to have dragon riders along as their escorts, knowing how powerful dragons were.
"Of course. You are more than welcome to accompany us." Weatherby says nodding his head
Devon nods his head, and he and his friends climb back onto their dragons, while Governor Swann, Elizabeth, and their servants head back to their carriage. Elizabeth watched the world-travelers with intrigue, feeling just as curious to learn about them as her father. Soon, Devon and the others were mounted on their dragons, and the Keyblade Wielder looks back over his right-shoulder at the carriage.
"So, where's the fort?" Devon asks
"Straight up along the road. It will take us right to it." Elizabeth says
"Right. Let's go." Devon says
And so, Luna kicks her feet off the ground and takes to the sky with a great flap of her wings, carrying the two Keyblade Wielders on her back. Spyro and Cynder take off and follow them, along with Toothless and the other dragons and their riders. The coachman whips the reins of the horses, and the beasts continue onward down the road with Governor Swann and his party riding inside the carriage, while Devon, Sora, and Co. kept watch from above.
Meanwhile, out in the waters of the sea, a tan, mustachioed man in swashbuckling attire stood on the rigging mast of a ship, gazing keen-eyed at the approaching harbor town that was Port Royal. His name: Captain Jack Sparrow.
Jack Sparrow was a notorious pirate of the Caribbean, a man of dubious morality and sobriety, a master of self-promotion and self-interest. He had dark brown eyes and dark brown hair styled in dreadlocks. His goatee beard was similarly styled into two smaller dreads. His hair was adorned with all manner of beads and trinkets gathered from all over the world, each one having a story that reminded him of his previous travels and different adventures. The first of these two beads, one red and one white. On the left was metallic Kuchi beads. And among the beads and trinkets in his hair, the shinbone of a reindeer hangs from a single strand. Jack wore a faded black tricorne hat and a faded red bandana on his head, complemented by Moroccan beads and an ancient silver coin from Siam draped over his forehead, long, brown sea boots, and a knotted striped-red sash tied around his waist, where he would stow his flintlock pistol. He carried the leather scabbard of his sword on his left-hip, kept in place by a black strap that goes over his right-shoulder, along with another tan belt, and a tattered, white piece of cloth tied around his waist. A compass hangs from this second belt, tied on by a piece of twine. He wears a faded, loose white shirt underneath a black jacket that exposes his chest, both tucked beneath the cloth and belt. The legs of his long, black linen-trousers were tucked into his boots, and he sports a grey captain's jacket, a shredded wristband on his right wrist, and a leather palm glove on his right-hand. Jack wore five rings on his fingers: an antique ring with a skull on each side and an emerald green stone on his right index finger, a silver and jade oriental dragon ring on his left thumb, a gold and amethyst Greco-Roman ring on his left index finger, a gold onyx Spanish flower ring, and a gold skull ring with a vertebrae wrap on his right middle finger.
Looking down at his boat, Jack grabs a rope and jumps down, landing on the water-filled deck of a small fishing dory, which only had a single mast and sail, a boat he stole from a smuggling family to use on his adventures. Unfortunately, the ship was gradually sinking and filling up with water. Jack grabs a wooden bucket from the rear of the boat and scoops the water out to keep his ship afloat until he reached port. As he did, Jack noticed the skeletal remains of three pirates, still clad in buccaneer rags, hanging from gallows erected from a rocky promontory along with a fourth unoccupied gallows bearing a sign that said:
Pirates Ye Be Warned
Pausing for a moment, Jack Sparrow took off his tricorne hat, placed it over his heart, and gave the doomed pirates a two-fingered salute with his left-hand, a moment of exaggerated respect as he sailed by them.
At the harbor of Port Royal, sailors, preparing for a voyage, were loading bundles of wool, goats, and other cargo for trade onto a ship from small lifeboats when one of them spots a bucket floating by. Then, everyone looks upon a strange sight as Jack Sparrow makes an unusual yet graceful entrance, standing on the masthead of the purloined fishing trawler, which was now sinking beneath the waves. The boat continued to sink lower and lower until Jack reaches the dock, making port just in time. He extends his right-leg and steps onto the dock, passing the harbormaster, who also noticed his arrival.
"Wha... Hold up there, you!" The Harbormaster says
Jack turns around to his right and walks back to the harbormaster.
"It's a shilling to tie your boat to the dock." The Harbormaster says
Both Jack and the harbormaster look over towards the fishing dory, which had now sunken completely with the top of its mast still visible above the water.
"And I shall need to know your name." The Harbormaster says
The pirate reaches into his jacket with his right-hand and takes out three silver coins with an offer.
"What do you say to three shillings..." Jack says
Jack places the coins onto the open ledger in the harbormaster's hands as a bribe.
"...and we forget the name?" Jack says
The harbormaster stares down at the silver coins for a long while. Each shilling was worth one twelfth of a British pound, and this was a hefty payment. Looking back up at Jack, the harbormaster greets him with a smile.
"Welcome to Port Royal, Mr. Smith." The Harbormaster says
Closing the ledger, the harbormaster sets off to his business elsewhere on the docks, while Jack swaggered to find himself a more suitable ship, stealing a black pouch full of coins from a black wooden podium that was the harbormaster's station along the way.
On the eastern side of Port Royal, a British Royal Navy stronghold stood on a bluff that overlooked the harbor town. Its name: Fort Charles.
For its layout, the fortress was dominated by a main courtyard used as a public execution area and a military command center. This was also where the gallows were located, where pirates were hung for their crimes, though it was cleared away for the promotion ceremony. North of the courtyard was a beautiful arched bell tower designed with a distinct Spanish flair to showcase each and every radiant sunset. Cannons lined the grand stone parapets of the fort. Closer to port was a dank prison cell block, from which prisoners could see both the fort's battlements and the harbor. And atop the north tower on the upper levels of the fortress, the flag of Great Britain blew proudly in the air.
Norrington's promotion ceremony at the fort was a military spectacle. Pipes and drums play as sailors and marines marched into the fort in perfect formation. Crew members of the HMS Dauntless stood at attention in nine rows on both sides of the courtyard with an audience of Port Royal's upper-class citizens and members of the British Royal Navy Fleet standing at the northern side. Devon, Sora, and Co. participated in the ceremony as well, standing with the crowd on the northwest side of the courtyard, though many of the citizens gave them strange looks due to the dragons being present as well. Nearby, Elizabeth was panting for breath due to her constricting corset, though she tried to hide it by fanning herself with a paper fan in her right-hand.
Not far from the fort, Jack Sparrow strides through the docks and saw a ship anchored at port, which seemed suitable for his needs: The HMS Interceptor, a British brig, sleek, brisk, and sturdy with two square-rigged masts, one fore, one main, and had an armament of sixteen cannons and two swivel guns. The pirate looks behind him to make sure he wasn't followed, then heads toward the ship for a closer look.
Back at Fort Charles, eighteen Royal Marines stood back-to-back in the courtyard, lining from the south entrance all the way to the northern end.
"Two paces, march!" A Royal Officer shouts
The marines take two steps away from each other. James Norrington walks in from the east side of the courtyard entrance with his hands behind his back, wearing his dark blue Navy uniform.
"Right about... face!" The Royal Officer shouts
Next, the marines take one step back, then turn and face forward. Governor Swann stood at the other end of the courtyard.
"Present... arms!" The Royal Officer shouts
The marines hold out their musket rifles, creating a lane for Norrington as he walks past them. Once he reaches the other side of the courtyard, Governor Swann opens up the weapon case and presents the Commodore with his sword. Norrington takes the sword in his right-hand, tosses it over to his other hand and holds it up, spins the sword behind him, returning it to his right-hand, then flourishes his weapon and snaps the blade up infront of his face. As the ceremony proceeded, Elizabeth tried desperately to keep herself from fainting.
Down at the docks, Jack Sparrow walks across the boardwalk toward the berthed Interceptor when two Royal Marines named Mullroy and Murtogg, who immediately moved up infront of the pirate and stood in his way, blocking his path to the ship with bayonet muskets in their right-hands. Although they were in uniform, Mullroy had brown hair and blue eyes, while Murtogg both brown hair and eyes.
"This dock is off-limits to civilians." Murtogg says
"I'm terribly sorry. I didn't know. If I see one, I shall inform you immediately." Jack says
Jack moves to the right to work his way around the two guards, but they shift over in his direction, blocking him again. His eyes glanced over to the British garrison on his right for a brief moment, aware of the ceremony that was taking place, and looks back at the two guards. The pirate was clever, and he had a trick up his sleeve on how to distract them.
"Apparently, there's some high-toned and fancy to-do at the fort, eh? How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?" Jack asks
"Someone has to make sure this dock stays off-limits to civilians." Murtogg says
"It's a fine goal, to be sure, but it would seem to me that a..." Jack says
Jack moves over to the left, and both Murtogg and Mullroy shift in his direction again to block him.
"...a ship like that makes this one here a bit superfluous, really." Jack says gesturing to the Dauntless further out in the harbor on the left with both hands
"The Dauntless is the power in these waters, true enough, but there's no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed." Murtogg says
"I've heard of one. It's supposed to be very fast, nigh uncatchable. The Black Pearl." Jack says
"Ha! There's no ship as can match the Interceptor." Mullroy scoffs with a laugh
"The Black Pearl is a real ship." Murtogg says looking right at his fellow marine
"No. No, it's not." Mullroy says shaking his head as he looked over at his partner on his left
"Yes, it is. I've seen it." Murtogg says
"You've seen it?" Mullroy says with a questioning look
"Yes." Murtogg says
"You haven't seen it." Mullroy says
"Yes, I have!" Murtogg says
"You've seen a ship with black sails that's crewed by the damned, and captained by a man so evil that Hell itself spat him back out?" Mullroy says
"No. But I have seen a ship with black sails." Murtogg says
While the guards were distracted with their idle conversation, Jack slips away to the right and heads over towards the Interceptor, walking up along the gangplank and onto the British brig.
"Oh. And no ship that's not crewed by the damned, and captained by a man so evil that Hell spat him back out could possibly have black sails, therefore couldn't possibly be any other ship than the Black Pearl. Is that what you're saying?" Mullroy says
"No." Murtogg says
"Like I said, there's no real ship as can match the Interceptor." Mullroy says
Murtogg and Mullroy look back and noticed that Jack was no longer infront of them. Turning around to their left, they saw him onboard the Interceptor, standing at the brig's stern with his hands on the helm, much to their shock.
"Hey! You!" Mullroy shouts
The two marines quickly run across the gangplank and board the ship, then climbed up the stairs to the quarterdeck and aim their muskets at Jack.
"Get away from there! You don't have permission to be aboard there, mate!" Mullroy says
"I'm sorry. It's just it's such a pretty boat... Ship." Jack says
"What's your name?" Mullroy asks
"Smith. Or Smithy, if you like." Jack says
"What's your purpose in Port Royal, 'Mr. Smith'?" Mullroy asks
"And no lies!" Murtogg says
"All right, then. I confess. It is my intention to commandeer a ship, pick up a crew to Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and, otherwise, pilfer my black guts out." Jack says
"I said no lies!" Murtogg says
"I think he's telling the truth." Mullroy says
"If he was telling the truth, he wouldn't have told us." Murtogg says
"Unless, of course, he knew you wouldn't believe the truth, even if he told you." Jack says
Murtogg and Mullroy stared at Jack for a moment, then shared glances with each other.
Up at Fort Charles, a formal party was held, and the citizens of Port Royal enjoyed themselves to a peaceful afternoon, engaging in conversations with one another and taking strolls through the courtyard as violins played with a soothing serenade. Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, the Viking Teens and their dragons gazed around at the townsfolk, watching the party, then they turned and saw Commodore Norrington approaching them.
"So, this is the heroic group that rescued the Governor and Elizabeth Swann from the... Heartless, I believe they're called?" Norrington says
"Yeah. That's us." Sora says
"I heard a lot of chatter from my men. They say you all vanquished a large group of Heartless in town. Such vile creatures would've caused much unwanted destruction to our society." Norrington says
Norrington extends his right-hand out to the group, and Devon shook his hand.
"You've done this country a great service. For that, you have my thanks." Norrington says
"Just doing our duty same as you, Commodore. Keeping people safe." Devon says
Norrington nods his head and looks off behind his right-shoulder at Elizabeth as she stood nearby.
"Do excuse me." Norrington says
Ending his conversation with the world-travelers, Commodore Norrington approaches Elizabeth with a request.
"May I have a moment?" Norrington asks
Elizabeth and Norrington walk out onto the battlements of the fort and gaze out into the distance, taking in the grand view of Port Royal and the sea. The Commodore looks over at the young woman beside him on his right and compliments her on her beauty.
"You look lovely, Elizabeth." Norrington says
Elizabeth turns to the Commodore and nods her head, smiling for a brief moment before facing forward. Norrington turns away from Elizabeth and gazes down at Port Royal as he spoke again.
"I, uh, apologize if I seem forward, but I must speak my mind. This promotion throws into sharp relief that which I have not yet achieved." Norrington says
Norrington turns back to face Elizabeth as he offers a proposal to her.
"A marriage to a fine woman." Norrington says
Elizabeth looks over at the Commodore surprised.
"You have become a fine woman, Elizabeth." Norrington says
Elizabeth was beginning to lose her breath due to the constricting tightness of the corset around her body, and she was gasping for air.
"I can't breathe!" Elizabeth gasps
"Yes, I'm a bit nervous myself." Norrington says turning away to the right
As soon as the Commodore turned away, Elizabeth faints and collapses, toppling over the battlements. Her hat flies off her head as she plummets through the air towards the sea far below. Down at the harbor, Jack was still in his conversation with Murtogg and Mullroy onboard the Interceptor, currently in the middle of telling one of his stories.
"And then they made me their chief." Jack says
Around that time, Elizabeth plunges into the water with a loud splash, narrowly missing the spiked rocks that jutted upwards close to the bluff. Jack, Murtogg, and Mullroy turn and look off toward the starboard side of the ship, hearing the sound of her splash. Up on the battlements, Norrington turned back around and noticed Elizabeth's disappearance.
"Elizabeth?" Norrington says
The Commodore looked down at the sea and saw the entrained air bubbles and the disturbance ring in the water expanding away from where Elizabeth had fallen. Fear and shock filled Norrington as he realized what happened and he leans against the stone arch, screaming Elizabeth's name.
"Elizabeth!" Norrington screams
Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch heard Norrington's distressed voice, as did everyone else in the fort, and they ran over towards the battlements. Norrington takes off his coat and prepares to jump to save his damsel in distress, but a Royal Officer extends his right-arm across his chest, stopping him.
"The rocks! Sir, it's a miracle she missed them!" The Royal Officer says
Moving with haste, Norrington leaves the battlements to gather his men and races for the harbor, while Devon, Sora, and Co. stayed behind and gazed down over the bluff with worried expressions. Meanwhile, Elizabeth was sinking deeper and deeper into the water. Onboard the Interceptor, Jack gazes out at the spot where Elizabeth had crashed into the sea and leans over at Mullroy on his right.
"Will you be saving her then?" Jack asks pointing out to the water with his right-hand
"I can't swim!" Mullroy says
The pirate looks at the two guards at his sides with a raised right-eyebrow and a deadpanned expression.
"Pride of the King's Navy, you are!" Jack says
Jack takes off his hat and his jacket and hands it to Mullroy, then hands Murtogg his sheathed cutlass, his flintlock pistol, and his compass, placing them into his arms.
"Do not lose these." Jack says
Rising up onto the railings of the Interceptor, Jack jumps and dives into the water to rescue Elizabeth. As she sinks, the gold medallion around Elizabeth's neck sends out a mysterious pulse across the sea. Murtogg and Mullroy noticed the strange ripple in the water and shared confused glances with each other.
"What was that?" Murtogg asks
Suddenly, a strong breeze blew through Port Royal as the winds instantly changed direction from south to north with the flag of Great Britain onboard the Interceptor, and the three pirate skeletons hanging from the rocky promontory following the currents of the wind. Eventually, Elizabeth touches down and comes to rest on the seabed, but it wasn't long until Jack reaches her and pulls her up to the surface. However, Jack was having trouble keeping Elizabeth and himself afloat above the waves with the woman's dress weighing them down, and thus they sink back into the water. Up on the battlements of the fort, Devon, Sora, and Co. could see Jack Sparrow struggling against the sea, and knew that he needed help.
"He's not gonna make it." Hiccup says
"We gotta do something." Astrid says
While everyone was looking down, Devon took a couple steps back, then dashes forward with full speed and jumps off the battlements, much to the surprise of his friends.
"Huh?!" Everyone exclaims
"Hyaaah!" Devon grunts
Devon falls through the air for seven seconds, maintaining a controlled descent and steering clear of the rocks until he plunges feet first into the water. He swims over to Jack and grabs the other side of Elizabeth. The pirate looks over at him for a moment but accepts his help. Jack strips Elizabeth of her dress, leaving her with only her silk clothes, and both he and Devon quickly bring her up to the surface.
Gray clouds began to form over Port Royal as Norrington and his men rush down to the harbor. Returning to the dock, Devon climbs up out of the water and onto the boardwalk using a ladder, then turns and helps Jack up as he hoists Elizabeth over his right-shoulder. Murtogg and Mullroy rush over to help as well with Mullroy grabbing the Governor's daughter and setting her down on her back. Once he was back on the dock, Jack pats Devon on the back with his right-hand.
"Thanks, mate." Jack says
"Don't mention it." Devon says
"She's not breathing!" Mullroy says
"Move!" Jack says
The pirate squeezes past the two marines and lowers down to young woman on his knees. Using a dagger, he cuts the twine on the left-side and tears the corset from her body. As soon as the corset was removed, Elizabeth immediately regains consciousness, coughing out seawater and taking in breaths of welcome air. Jack tosses the corset over to Murtogg on his right, having finished with his task.
"I never would've thought of that." Mullroy says
"Clearly, you've never been to Singapore." Jack says looking left at the marine
Jack looks back down at Elizabeth and notices the medallion fastened to her neck. He holds up the gold coin in his right-hand and gazes down at the trinket and its owner with a curious expression. The pirate seemed familiar with the medallion, almost as if he had seen it before.
"Where did you get that?" Jack asks intrigued
Before he could explore the mystery of the medallion further, a pair of black paws came down on the docks behind Elizabeth with a loud thud, drawing the pirate's attention. Lifting his head up, Jack Sparrow came face-to-face with Luna, the female Night Fury. Her face cast an intimidating glare with the pupils of her light blue eyes narrowed down to slits. Jack, on the other hand, held a look of innocence, though he was probably quivering with fear on the inside. He knew a dragon when he saw one.
"Hello, beastie." Jack greets with a smile
Luna didn't appreciate being called a 'beastie', and she responded with a vicious snarl, inching closer to the pirate and baring her teeth at him.
"For your information, I am a dragon, and I would appreciate it if you would keep your hands to yourself." Luna says
Jack was actually surprised of a dragon with the ability to physically talk, but nonetheless he complied and releases the medallion in his hand, letting it fall onto Elizabeth's chest. Before Luna could do anything else to Jack, Devon quickly walks over to her side and places his left-hand on the dragoness' head and the other on her left-side to calm her down.
"Easy, Luna." Devon says
The female Night Fury steps backwards and calms down as the pupils in her eyes dilate, becoming rounder, though she kept her defensive stance. At that time, the rest of the gang arrived on the dock behind Devon and Luna with Spyro and Cynder landing first, then Toothless and the other dragons along with their riders. Sora, Donald, Goofy, and the Viking Teens climbed down off their dragons and joined Devon and Luna as Norrington and his men arrived on the scene, running past them. The Commodore pulls out his sword and holds it up to Jack's neck.
"On your feet." Norrington says
Jack looks down at the blade as the tip nearly touched his throat, then looks up at Norrington before rising up and holding his hands up in surrender. Governor Swann moves past everyone to his daughter, concerned for her safety.
"Elizabeth! Are you alright?" Weatherby asks
"Yes, I'm fine." Elizabeth says
Governor Swann takes off his jacket wraps it around Elizabeth to help dry her off. Everyone then turns their attention to Jack Sparrow as he stood along with them. The Governor looks over at Murtogg as he still held Elizabeth's corset in his hands, though he immediately drops it and points to Jack on his left with his left index finger. Feeling insulted by the pirate for touching his daughter, the Governor orders him to be shot on the spot.
"Shoot him!" Weatherby says
"Father! Commodore, do you really intend to kill my rescuer?" Elizabeth says
Norrington was surprised by this new information, as was the Governor, however, he nods his head and sheathes his sword, then extends his right-hand out to Jack.
"I believe thanks are in order." Norrington says
Jack was a bit hesitant to shake the Commodore's hand, but he soon extends his own hand out. As soon as their hands make contact, Norrington pulls Jack toward him and slides up the sleeve of his shirt, revealing a branded 'P' on the skin of his arm, which was the mark of a pirate, made by a hot branding iron.
"Had a brush with the East India Trading Company, did we, pirate?" Norrington asks with a smug look on his face
Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Luna, Spyro, Cynder, the Viking Teens and the dragons were surprised. This man that rescued Elizabeth Swann was an actual pirate? Devon, Sora, and the Viking Teens were very familiar with pirates, having heard many tales about them, but they never thought they'd actually meet one.
"What?" Devon says
"A pirate?" Sora says smiling excitingly
"Hang him!" Weatherby says
"Keep your guns on him, men. Gillette, fetch some irons." Norrington says
Norrington pulls up Jack's sleeve further and saw a black tattoo of a sparrow flying across a setting sun.
"Well, well. Jack Sparrow, isn't it?" Norrington says
"Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please." Jack says
"I don't see your ship, 'Captain'." Norrington says looking around at the docks
"I'm in the market, as it were." Jack says
"He said he'd come to commandeer one." Murtogg says
"Told you he was telling the truth. These are his, sir." Mullroy says
Mullroy picks up the pirate's gear from the boardwalk and presents it to Commodore Norrington, who inspects the items in turn, beginning with Jack's pistol as he turns it over and under with his hands.
"No additional shots, nor powder." Norrington says
Next, he examines the compass, which was a compact device whose domed cover was made from pure lapis lazuli. The inside lid was detailed with a map of the heavens, the central shadow vane made the compass work as a sundial, and the compass disk itself was sliced from a walrus's tusk.
"A compass that doesn't point north." Norrington says
Then, Norrington inspects Jack's sword, pulling it out slightly from its scabbard. The Commodore wasn't impressed. The saber was rusted and worn out.
"And I half expected it to be made of wood." Norrington says smiling
Norrington slides the blade back into its sheath, then looks back up at Jack.
"You are without a doubt the worst pirate I ever heard of." Norrington says
"But you have heard of me." Jack says holding up his two index fingers
The Commodore grabs the pirate by his right-arm and drags him away, while Devon, Sora, and Co. followed them along with Governor Swann and Elizabeth.
"Commodore, I really must protest!" Elizabeth says
"Carefully, Lieutenant." Norrington says
As the shackles are placed upon Jack's wrists by Gillette, Norrington's second-in-command, Elizabeth walks ahead of everyone and stands between Norrington and Jack Sparrow, intent on protecting her savior.
"Pirate or not, this man saved my life." Elizabeth says
"One good deed is not enough to redeem a man for a lifetime of wickedness." Norrington says
"Though it seems enough to condemn him." Jack says leaning over to the left
"Indeed." Norrington says
Soon, the shackles were closed as Gillette finishes up with his task.
"Finally." Jack says
In that moment, Jack throws the chains of his shackles over Elizabeth's head and close to her neck, pulling her closer to him as his hostage, much to everyone's surprise. Elizabeth gasps in surprise, and the Royal Marines aim their muskets at the pirate, but the Governor stops them, knowing that his daughter was in the line of fire.
"No! No! Don't shoot!" Weatherby exclaims
Luna, Toothless, Stormfly, Meatlug, Hookfang, Barf and Belch growled and advanced toward the pirate, but Devon, Hiccup, and the other riders kept their dragons back.
"Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!" Devon says holding out his hands to his sides
"No! Toothless, stand down!" Hiccup says
Luna, Toothless, and the other dragons loyally obeyed their riders and calmed down, knowing they couldn't risk Elizabeth's safety.
"I knew you'd warm up to me. Commodore Norrington, my effects, please. And my hat." Jack says
Norrington stood defiantly, refusing to give the pirate what he wanted.
"Commodore." Jack says
Knowing he had no choice, Norrington turns around to his right and takes Jack's gear from Mullroy.
"Elizabeth... It is Elizabeth?" Jack says
"It's Miss Swann." Elizabeth says
"Miss Swann, if you'd be so kind. Come, come, dear. We don't have all day." Jack says
Norrington hands over the gear to Elizabeth and Jack spins her around to the left to face him.
"Now, if you'll be very kind." Jack says
Elizabeth hands the pirate his pistol, putting the weapon into his right-hand, then moves on to Jack's compass, tying it back onto his belt. Afterwards, she places Jack's hat back on his head before finally strapping his scabbard and sword onto his body.
"Easy on the goods, darling." Jack says
Elizabeth tightens the scabbard's belt as she finishes up.
"You're despicable." Elizabeth says in disgust
"Sticks and stones, love. I saved your life, you save mine. We're square." Jack says
With his personal effects returned to him, Jack spins Elizabeth once more to the left as they both faced Commodore Norrington, Governor Swann, the redcoats, and the world-travelers.
"Gentlemen, my lady, you will always remember this as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow!" Jack says
Raising his chains over Elizabeth's head, Jack releases his grip on the young woman and pushes her toward Norrington and the Governor, who catch her. Turning around to his left, Jack grabs the rope of a crane and kicks the lever downward with his left-foot, raising himself up and sending the hoisted cannon down smashing a hole into the dock, causing everyone to back away and dodge the heavy object. The crane then began to spin uncontrollably counterclockwise, swinging Jack around in the air, while everyone watched him.
"Now will you shoot him?!" Weatherby asks
"Open fire!" Norrington commands
The Royal Marines aim their muskets at the pirate and shoot their rifles. None of the shots hit their target. Eventually, Jack swings over to the other side of the harbor and lands on an overhang near the dock's entrance.
"On his heels!" Norrington commands
Using the chains of his shackles, Jack slides down the rope for seven seconds, then takes off running down the boardwalk. Behind him, the redcoats fire their muskets again as he turns right and runs across the stone bridge, then escapes into the slums. Commodore Norrington stood at the entrance of the harbor with Gillette, Murtogg and Mullroy behind him and spoke to his lieutenant.
"Gillette, Mr. Sparrow has a dawn appointment for the gallows. I would hate for him to miss it." Norrington says
Gillette nods his head and looks back over his right-shoulder at Murtogg and Mullroy behind him, gesturing for them to follow him with his head as they set off to search the town along with the other redcoats. Once they were gone, Norrington turns around to face Devon, Sora, and their group as they stood behind him.
"Devon, Sora, it would seem that I require your assistance. Jack Sparrow is obviously an unpredictable danger to society and must be captured." Norrington says
"Leave it to us, sir! We'll find and nab this pirate!" Sora says pointing to himself with his right thumb and clenching his hand into a fist
"Luna, you think you can sniff him out?" Devon asks turning left to his Night Fury
"There's too many people. Too many scents, but I'll try." Luna says
"Toothless, you and the other dragons help her out." Hiccup says turning right to his Night Fury
Toothless nods his head in acknowledgment and looks back over his left-side at Stormfly, Meatlug, Hookfang, and Barf and Belch, giving out a single bark. The dragons went on ahead with Luna and Toothless taking the lead, while Devon, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Spyro, Cynder, and the Viking Teens followed them.
Multiple search parties were formed as the hunt for Jack Sparrow commenced. The redcoats went block by block and building to building, searching upstairs and downstairs for the pirate.
"Search upstairs!" Royal Marine #6 says
"Look lively, men!" Royal Marine #7 says
Devon, Sora, and Co. assisted in the search, looking down every street and alleyway. Luna, Toothless, and the other dragons kept their noses to the dirt using their sense of smell, acting like sniffer dogs as they attempted to track down the pirate, while their riders followed closely.
"Come on, Luna. You can do it." Devon says
Hidden out of view behind a statue, Jack Sparrow watched the world-travelers as they moved past across the street from left to right. Once they were gone, the pirate takes refuge in a shop on his left. Hanging over the shop's entrance toward the street was a wooden sign with a pair of tongs, a hammer, and an anvil painted in black on both sides. Underneath was a name: J. Brown.
Stepping inside the smithy, Jack Sparrow sheathes his sword and looked around. Inside the dusty shop were dozens of machineries and tools used for hammering, folding, grinding, and polishing swords. On the left was flatbed wagon seesaw, while on the right was a charcoal furnace, a huge bellow for stoking the fires, and two huge wooden cogwheels, which is turned by a donkey attached to the machinery by a harness as it walked a roundabout. And at the very end of the smithy was a large anvil and a workbench that held the very tools used for crafting swords, which the pirate hoped would help relieve him of the shackles on his wrists.
Jack walks over to the workbench and places his hat down on a smaller anvil planted on the bench and was about to work on his shackles when he heard the clattering sound of a bottle dropping onto the dirt floor. Turning around to his right, Jack saw the shop's owner, John Brown himself, a drunken man with messy brown hair and round beard, wearing a black smithy's apron, a white shirt with rolled up sleeves, white high socks, and brown shoes, fast asleep in a chair on the side of the shop. Cautiously, the pirate walks over to the sleeping man and gives him a couple taps on his chest to see if he would react. John Brown was sound asleep, not reacting to his touch whatsoever. Then, Jack lets out a loud shout. Not even the sound of his voice stirred him awake. Leaving the shop owner as he is, the pirate returns to the task at hand.
Grabbing a hammer, Jack tries to break the chains of his shackles with a couple of strikes, but the task was difficult with his restraints. Then, he looks up at the cogwheels and formulates another plan. Walking over to the furnace, Jack picks up a fire poker and stares at its sizzling red tip before his eyes glance over to the donkey on his right. The donkey's head jerked up as it brayed loudly, feeling the hot metal at its back, and the equine creature moves forward, causing the cogwheels to turn. Jack throws his shackles up into the heavy machinery, which jams up and breaks the chains of his manacles, freeing his hands.
But before he could make his escape, Jack Sparrow notices the door to the smithy opening up and he quickly hides away out of view. Entering the forge was Will Turner as he returns back to his workplace. He noticed the donkey moving around the smithy and places his hands on the equine creature, calming it down and stopping the movement of the machinery. Will takes off his jacket and tosses it away to the side, then looks over at his blacksmith master, John Brown, who was still asleep in his chair.
"Right where I left you." Will says
However, Will turns and looks over at his left and was curious to see his hammer displaced, sitting on the small anvil.
"Not where I left you." Will says
Nearby on the workbench, the young blacksmith saw a tricorne hat, which didn't belong in the forge. Curious, Will extends his right-hand out to grab it, but was stopped by Jack Sparrow, who placed the blade of his sword against the top of his hand.
"You're the one they're hunting. The pirate." Will says
"You seem familiar. Have I threatened you before?" Jack asks raising his right-eyebrow
"I make a point of avoiding familiarity with pirates." Will says
"Ah. Then it would be a shame to put a black mark on your record. So, if you'll excuse me." Jack says
Jack turns around to his right and goes back to grab his hat. As he does, Will grabs a cutlass from a collection of swords behind him and holds it out against the pirate.
"Do you think this wise, boy? Crossing blades with a pirate?" Jack asks
"You threatened Miss Swann." Will says
Jack puts his blade against Will's and slides it towards him a few inches with a smile.
"Only a little." Jack says
Making the first move, Jack advances toward Will with a low right strike, but he parries the blade. Then, the pirate follows up with seven quick strikes, attacking with a high left blow, another low right slice, an overhead strike, and another high left and overhead strike. Will parries his attacks again and swings his cutlass with a sweeping motion left and right. Now, it was his turn. Will advances with two low strikes and a high thrust, then follows up with four more thrusts, all of which is parried by Jack. The duel pauses, allowing for a moment of respite. Jack was actually impressed by Will's fencing skills.
"You know what you're doing, I'll give you that. Excellent form. But how's your footwork? If I step over here..." Jack says
Jack sidesteps to the right, moving his left-leg across his other leg, and Will moves opposite of him, matching his movements as they move around one another. The pirate attacks again with a high right strike, a left center strike, and a low and second high right strike, but is parried by the young blacksmith.
"Very good. Now I step again." Jack says
Swinging Will's blade away, Jack sidesteps again to the right and attacks with a left slash and a right slash. Will parries his blows and holds his cutlass vertically behind his back as the pirate spins around him, and counters with an overhead strike and a low right strike, which Jack parries. After a slight pause, Jack steps forward with a quick lunge, but Will parries his blade.
"Ta." Jack says
Having had his fun with the young blacksmith, the pirate sheathes his sword and turns away to leave, climbing up the stone steps to the shop's exit. However, before he could make his escape, Will throws his cutlass at the door to stop him. The sword stabs into door, right above where the wooden bar kept it shut, stopping the pirate dead in his tracks. Jack's face was merely an inch away from the blade and he looks at the weapon with widened eyes as it swayed from side-to-side. He grabs the hilt of the cutlass with his hands, stopping it's swaying motion, and pushes upward to dislodge the sword, but the blade was stuck about two feet deep into the wood, making it impossible to remove. Then, he pulls up on the bar holding the door closed several times to unlock it, but to no avail. Unable to get the door open, Jack turns around to his left to face Will Turner and steps back down towards him.
"That is a wonderful trick. Except, once again, you are between me and my way out. And now..." Jack says
Jack draws his sword and points it straight at Will.
"...you have no weapon." Jack says
Will quickly grabs a fire poker from the furnace and arms himself against the pirate. Seeing the red-hot tip of Will's weapon, the donkey moves forward again, not wanting to be burned a second time.
Jack Sparrow quickly darts over to the right around a wooden beam, but Will Turner spins around to the left and cuts him off, swinging his metal poker. The pirate brings up his blade and blocks his strike, causing sparks to fly. Will spins around the other way and attacks again with a left strike. Jack parries and counters with an overhead slash and a low left slash. Will blocks both strikes and slides forward as he lunges his weapon with a low thrust at Jack, but the pirate parries and knocks his poker away with a left slash, then advances toward the blacksmith with a right slash. Will Turner leaps away from Jack's blade, causing him to hit the support beam, then holds his weapon up as he blocks an overhead strike, putting the two men in a blade lock. The struggle lasted for only five seconds until they shove each other away, and the pirate disarms his opponent using the chains of his left manacle to wrap around the poker and pulls it out of his grip. Will dives over the machinery, dodging a downward strike from Jack, and rolls onto his feet, then grabs another cutlass from his collection before whirling around to face the pirate again and blocks him as he jumps onto the wheel and swings around the with a left slash. As their blades clashed, Jack looks down at the collection of swords in their holdings around the wheel.
"Who makes all these?" Jack asks
Will attacks with a right slash, but Jack jumps down, dodging his blow. He then clambers up onto the wheel, trading places with the pirate, and swings around with another strike that is blocked.
"I do." Will says
Moving around the other side of the wheel, Will swings his blade at Jack again with a right slash.
"And I practice with them..." Will says
Jack goes on the offensive and swings a right downward strike at Will, but he moves around the wheel, dodging his blade, and counters with another strike.
"...three hours a day." Will says
The pirate climbs up onto the wheel and trades places with the young blacksmith again.
"You need to find yourself a girl, mate." Jack says
Jack swings his sword with a left slash, only to miss Will ducks down and dodges the blade, and the blacksmith counters with a left slash, which Jack dodges jumping down from the wheel. He retreats and Will chases after him, grabbing a second sword from his collection for his offhand as he clambers over the wheel. The pirate grabs a hammer hanging down from the cogwheel above them and turns around to face Will again. He blocks the sword in Will's left-hand and swings the hammer down as a counterattack, but the young blacksmith ducks down and leans away, evading the strike, and swings both swords at Jack, one after the other. Then, the two men swing their swords overhead, forcing them into another blade lock.
"Or, perhaps the reason you practice three hours a day is that you already found one, and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet." Jack says
Jack stares at Will for a moment, then a weird thought crossed his mind.
"You're not a eunich, are you?" Jack asks leaning backwards slightly
"I practice three hours a day so that when I meet a pirate, I can kill it!" Will says
Will swings the sword in his right-hand with a wide left slash, but Jack leaps away and retreats onto seesaw wagon with Will in pursuit. Their movements causes the stopper holding the wagon to break apart and the wagon to roll off from its position. The duel continued with the two men standing on opposite sides, exchanging blows, dodging, and parrying sword strikes, while maintaining their balance on the wagon as it rocked back and forth. Eventually, Jack wraps the chains of his manacles around Will's sword to disarm him same as he did earlier. However, Will turns the tables on him and throws his sword upwards, lodging it into the rafters above. Jack was left hanging from his left-hand, but he fights with his other hand, swinging his saber left and right at Will three times, although he kept his distance. He stomps his left-foot down on the wagon and a loose plank lifts upward, hitting the blacksmith under his chin and knocking him down to the ground on his back. Will shakes it off and quickly jumps up to his feet and sees the pirate trying to free his hand. When he jumps back onto the wagon, Jack breaks free and falls onto the incline of the craft, rolling backwards as he lands, while Will is launched upwards onto the rafters. Jack gets back on his feet and onto the wagon, only to notice his opponent wasn't around. Then, he looks up and smiled when he saw the blacksmith above him. Will cuts the rope on a net full of barrels, sending it down towards the wagon, and the smile on Jack's face immediately faded as he was launched up onto the rafters.
The pirate pulls himself up onto the wooden beam and the duel continues with Will making the first move as he lunges forward with a thrusting strike. Jack parries the blade and advances toward Will with a low left and a high right strike, which is parried. He then thrusts his saber forward with a lunging strike, but the blacksmith jumps away to the left on an intersecting beam, dodging the attack. Changing sides, the two men exchange blows again until Will knocks Jack's sword out of his grip, disarming him in a surprise turn of events. The pirate and blacksmith jump down and return to ground floor. Will points his blade at Jack, thinking he had defeated the pirate, but then he grabs a hanging sack on his right and throws brown powder onto the blacksmith. While he was blinded by the powder, Jack kicks the sword out of Will's grip with his left-foot, disarming him. When he recovers, Will scrambles around to find a weapon and arms himself with another fire poker behind him, then turns back to face Jack Sparrow, but stops as the pirate had his pistol drawn and aimed straight at him, thus ending the duel.
"You cheated!" Will says
"Pirate." Jack says
Outside in the streets of Port Royal, Luna and Toothless led Devon, Sora and the others toward John Brown's smithy, having finally picked up the pirate's scent. Also with them was Commodore Norrington, Gillette, and a dozen Royal Marines. Stopping at the shop's entrance, the two Night Furies stood like pointer dog with their right-paws lifted up, and their bodies and heads stretched forward, pointing towards the wooden door.
"He's in there!" Luna says
Devon walks in-between the two Night Furies and rubs Luna's head and left-side with his hands. The black dragoness crooned and wagged her tail happily at her rider's touch.
"Good work, Luna." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder turns to the male Night Fury next on his left and gives him a couple scratches on the back of his neck and under his chin, again with both hands.
"You too, Toothless." Devon says
Toothless chuffed happily. Devon hastily walks over to the door and gives it push with his right-hand to open it, but the door wouldn't budge. He pushes it three more times with his hand, then tries pushing it with his left-shoulder.
"Gnh! Nnnngh!" Devon grunts
After several attempts, the young teen backs away and dusts off his shoulder with his right-hand.
"Ahh... Locked." Devon sighs
Knowing now that the pirate was hiding away inside, Commodore Norrington turns to his men and shouts an order.
"Break the door down!" Norrington commands
Inside the smithy, a loud banging and grunting is heard at the front door as the redcoats pushed against it, causing Jack Sparrow to look back over his right-shoulder. He had been found. Turning back to face Will Turner, the pirate saw a back door behind him, which was now his only means of escape. With his pistols still aimed at the blacksmith, Jack demands him to step aside.
"Move away." Jack says
"No." Will says
"Please move?" Jack says
"No! I cannot just step aside and let you escape." Will says
Jack glances back at the door once more before facing Will again, pulling back the hammer of his pistol with his right-thumb and arming his weapon.
"This shot is not meant for you." Jack says
Before neither side could do anything, a glass bottle smashes down on Jack's head, shattering to pieces. At first, Jack didn't seem affected by the surprise attack, but then he falls down four seconds later, revealing John Brown standing behind him with the top of his broken bottle in his right-hand. Soon, the door to the smithy was busted open thanks to Meatlug, who had bashed the door open with a strong headbutt. Fishlegs wraps his arms around his dragon's head, congratulating her on a superb job.
"Nice work, Meatlug." Fishlegs says
The Royal Marines storm into the shop and saw Jack Sparrow face down on the ground, having been knocked unconscious by Mr. Brown.
"There he is!" Royal Marine #8 says
The redcoats aim their muskets at the unconscious pirate as Commodore Norrington enters to congratulate the shop's owner.
"Excellent work, Mr. Brown. You've assisted in the capture of a dangerous fugitive." Norrington says looking at the blacksmith on his left
"Just doing my civic duty, sir." Brown says
Norrington glances down at the unconscious Jack Sparrow with an amused smile.
"Well, I trust that you will always remember this as the day that Captain Jack Sparrow almost escaped. Hmm... Take him away." Norrington says
Two Royal Marines step forward to grab the pirate, while the Commodore turns to his right and walks away.
Outside, Devon, Sora, and Co. watched as Norrington exits the smithy with Jack Sparrow dragged right behind him.
"Well, that takes care of him." Snotlout says
"Perhaps, but the Heartless are still lurking around." Devon says
"Right. And until we find out who's controlling them, this world is still in danger." Sora says
"So, what'll we do now?" Fishlegs asks
As the group stood around in the street, Luna and Toothless perked up their heads and began sniffing the air for a few seconds, then they both growled with narrowed eyes and bared teeth as if they sensed something evil was coming. Their growls caught everyone's attention.
"Toothless?" Hiccup says confused
"Luna? What is it?" Devon asks
"Something's coming. From the sea. I can smell it." Luna says
Devon stared at his Night Fury dragoness, then turns to his right as Norrington and his men continued dragging the pirate away, concerned about what might come next.
