Izuku: Will this be normal?
UO: God I hope not. *Pulls out weatherproof Script.* So let's see…Oooh I can try this…pairing is harem.
Izuku: Again?
UO:...Oooh nice, Fire Force Waifus…*Sees title* Oh man do I have to pay royalties for this?
Izuku: Um, UnitedOsprey1991 doesn't own MHA or Fire Force he only owns the plot

Chapter 1: Prepare for takeoff!
Since the Dawn of Quirks, the world has been wracked by turmoil and chaos. Society was torn between those who were born with power, and those who weren't. Countless conflicts and even wars were fought, both between factions and even between united fronts over other concerns. Crime surged, criminals with superpowers ran rampant, until finally, thanks to the actions of some brave souls, the First Heroes, they were able to restore some semblance of structure and peace.
Nowadays, eighty percent of the world population possess a superpower of some sort. Of the portion with a Quirk, it was quickly noticed that ten percent of people would manifest their power as some form of Pyrokinesis. Of course, the vast majority would still develop a different ability, but before anyone noticed, it had become common to know at least someone who could manipulate fire in some way…
Yuuei University Entrance Exam, Practical Portion
A green-haired young man stood in front of a large metal gate. He was wearing a pair of cargo shorts, a green t-shirt, and sandals. Midoriya Izuku grinned, a set shark-like teeth showing as he gazed at the massive wall looming over him. Beyond the gate lay Ground Beta, the site of his practical exam, but the wall was so high that he couldn't even see the fake city that was beyond it. "Jeez…as expected of Yuuei, even the sites of their tests are larger than life." He cracked his neck and began stretching, both to limber himself up and to alleviate the nervous energy rising through his body. It wasn't every day that he got to finally try for a spot at one of the most prestigious Hero universities in the world after a lifetime of planning and training of his Quirk.
He winced as a few sparks sputtered from his heel in his excitement, but his grin only widened. He slipped off his sandals, eyeing the gate in a different light. "With that high an entrance, I'll have plenty of room to fly in…"
While everyone else was milling about, some chatting with each other, others were showing off their Quirks in a futile gesture of one upmanship. Izuku could see a stiff, blue haired young man trying to create some semblance of order. 'If you only worry about rules, you're gonna get hurt as a Hero.
Just then a siren rang, and a series of loud clanks echoed through the grounds. The test takers began to spread out, while the green haired man knelt down. The world around him seemed to fall away as a sound like the whining of a jet engine filled his ears.
"Alright dudes and dudettes! Your ten minutes start NOW!
Flames erupted from his feet in a massive plume, launching Izuku into the air. He took a moment to laugh to himself as he rose up, and then threw himself forward, rocketing through the gate While everyone was grumbling about false starts, the announcer chuckled. "There aren't any countdowns in real life! Go, go, GO!"
The rest of the participants panicked and began to rush after the green haired pyro user.
He was already far in the lead, streaking through the air like a missile. He flew down the streets, keeping his eyes peeled for the faux villains. At the next intersection, he saw two robots wheeling towards him. "TARGET ACQUIRED!" They echoed, raising their arms, and accelerating.
Izuku grinned and twisted, kicking his right leg out. A large plume of fire bloomed from his heel, sending him into a spin along with his forward momentum. "Nichirin Smash!" he yelled, swinging wildly, and CRUNCHING through the metal of one bot's head and into the other one as his spin-kick created a messy ring of flames. As their heads shattered into pieces, he landed lightly on his other foot, taking stock of the false villains. "That's three points!" He then lifted off and shot away, this time staying low to the ground with his arms out.
Midoriya Izuku! Quirk: Afterburner. He can blast high-pressure flames from his feet, but only from there. It's enough to generate thrust, and using his toes allows him to control altitude. He grows more durable the faster he does. Watch out for that-!
He tilted, fingertips nearly reaching the ground as he swerved narrowly avoiding a lamppost as he rocketed down another street. He clotheslined a three-pointer next, wincing as the robot's mass slowed him down and the near-bruising impact, but the metal took more damage, denting around his forearm. "Six points!" He spun and blasted some more, picking up speed and punching into another two-pointer. "Eight!" He grinned as he saw more targets. "This test will be a breeze!" He streaked off in a flash of fire.
In an observation room, several teachers were watching the testing grounds with interest, some taking notes, others talking with their peers. They took notice of the green haired boy's actions, their attention darting from screen to screen as he shot past the cameras, obliterating robots and making sharp turns without any loss of speed. "Hooweee! Look at tha' pardner go!" a southern accented voice called out.
A silver haired man nodded. "No hesitation at all. Who is this kid?"
A man with a mechanical helmet activated a pad. "Here we go, Izuku Midoriya, Aldera High, Quirk is Afterburner. Well, no wonder he's got a good Fire Quirk, his dad's Battalion Chief Midoriya Hisashi."
"Midoriya Hisashi…ain't he one of the few that works with the Fire Force? I know some heroes and firemen have some…reservations working with that brigade," the same man asked.
A more confident, yet hoarse voice spoke up next. "The Fire Force is a respectable brigade of heroes and ordinary firemen. In America, they are often seen helping to protect civilians to allow the heroes more opportunities to end a threat. I myself have worked with several in the past."
Off to the side, a shadowy figure watched the applicants with disdain. His snake-like eyes glowed in the light as he looked towards a smaller figure. "Can we please just cull these people? They're giving me a headache just looking at them."
The smaller creature nodded. "I suppose they are having a bit too much fun gaining points. Power Loader? I believe it's time for the real test."
The Hero nodded and pulled up a set of commands. "Zero pointers ready to roll." He pressed the appropriate button on his console.
Back At Training Ground Beta
Izuku slid to a stop as he kicked through several two pointers, his feet leaving sooty skid marks on the street. "That's…50 at least. I think I'm good, but I can't stop now." As he pondered this, he felt the ground shake. The shaking got more violent as something big rumbled its way into the grounds. Everyone looked to see a giant robot, bigger than the buildings around it, rolling down the street as if it owned the place.
"...Oh yeah, that's an obstacle alright!" squeaked the boy, eyes bulging. Even if he had the stamina, there was no way he could take that on.
Many of the contestants began to panic at the sight. "Fucking hell that's the Zero Pointer?"
"Forget that! I'm not fighting that!"
"We gotta run!"
Most of the class started to flee in the direction of the gate. Izuku was about to start jetting that way too when he heard someone yelp.
"Ouch!" a feminine voice called out.
"Oh, damn it!" Izuku gasped, twisting himself in midair and blasting himself towards the source of the voice. He found a brunette in a black tracksuit pinned under the rubble. "Hey you alright?" He asked her, as he carefully removed the rubble off her. He glanced up nervously; the Zero Pointer was bearing down on them, slowly but surely.
"I don't know, can't feel my ankle at the moment. I hope it's not broken," she whimpered.
Fortunately, the rocks were easy to clear away, and then Izuku turned around, holding out his arms behind him. "Climb onto my back!" he told her urgently.
"Huh?"
"Get on! I'll carry you!"
The brunette deciding not to question this act of chivalry, hobbled her way over and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Hold on! We're about to launch!" Izuku told her, his feet already igniting.
"Wait what?" The girl squeaked, before the green haired pyrokinetic kicked off the ground, his feet exploding with a powerful thrust, just before the Zero pointer rolled them over. The brunette yelped, balancing on his back as they flew through the air, inches off the ground. He looked back as the Zero pointer began to chase it, the movement shaking the city.
"Come on you bucket of bolts is that all you got?"
"HERO. IDENTIFIED! INCREASING SPEED!"
Izuku just smirked and kept flying away, running down the clock as the robot chased them around.
"TIME'S UP, FOLKS! NO MORE POINTS! PLEASE LEAVE THE TESTING GROUNDS!"
Izuku let out a whoop as he flew towards the exit. "That was a rush!" He looked behind him to see the brunette clutching his shirt tightly. "You know…I never got your name."
The brunette stared at him, but then started to giggle and laugh. "Oh my god!" A few moments later, her giggles calmed down. "I'm Uraraka Ochako."
"I'm Midoriya Izuku, nice to meet you. Hope to see you in class!" The greenette grinned, showing off his abnormally sharp teeth
Moments later, they landed near a medical tent and Izuku gently helped Ochako down, taking care to keep her off her leg.
"Are you two alright, dearies?" A kind, elderly voice asked as a gray-haired woman in pink scrubs walked over to them.
"Oh wow, you're Recovery Girl! Your healing Quirk's amazing," Izuku gushed, his fanboying over heroes working its way through the grin. Then he remembered Ochako's injury and rubbed his head. "Oh yeah, she might have sprained her ankle or something."
"I swear, this test gets more violent every year," Recovery Girl grumbled as she examined Ochako's ankle. "Well, it's a sprain, so this should be fine in an instant." She gave the girl a smooch on the forehead. Instantly, her foot started to regain its feeling, her ankle starting to heal quickly. "Here you go, have some gummies to get your energy back up."
Ochako nodded as the nurse went to go help the rest of the test takers, leaving the couple alone. After being checked over again, the two were allowed to leave the training area and head out of the school grounds.
"So, sorry if this is a little personal, but what's your Quirk?" Izuku asked, sitting down with a crossed leg. stance.
Ochako smiled and tapped his shoulder. The greenette yelped as he slowly lifted off the ground. "I call it Zero Gravity. If I touch something with all five fingers, I can remove its weight and move it around at will. I do have a weight limit, but for small stuff like this, I affect it no problem. And to bring it back, I just do this," She put her hands together. "Release. I don't need to actually say that it just feels right."
Izuku returned to the ground. "First time I've stayed off the ground without my Quirk. That was crazy. You could move so much. Although, Zero Gravity wouldn't be accurate."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Ochako asked, tilting her head cutely.
"If I truly were at Zero G, you would need to put effort into moving me around. If I were racing around with my Quirk, you wouldn't be able to stop my momentum when I get lifted off the ground. Unless your Quirk also removes Mass…might need to test that out when we get into Yuuei."
"I never thought about it like that…math wasn't my best subject. What about you? Is your Quirk those crazy rocket feet?"
Izuku nodded. "I call it Afterburner. I can blast fire out of my feet, hard enough to generate thrust and fly. I'm a fairly good dancer, too."
"That sounds awesome, I bet it'd be cool to breakdance with rocket legs!" Ochako opined, grinning. As they walked to the train station, the two heard sirens. They turned to see a lead red commander's SUV, a ladder truck and a regular fire truck screaming by them, lights flashing and sirens blaring.
"Oh wow, there's a fire nearby!" Izuku realized. Then he saw two more engines flying by, followed by an ambulance and a hazmat truck. "Shit! That's at least a two-alarm response! Ochako, come on!" the green-haired boy encouraged as they raced to where they saw the fire engines going.
Two blocks away, they saw a crowd forming around a large, three apartment complex that had caught fire and had flames pouring out of the top two floors. At least seven trucks had been deployed, all trying to dampen the blaze. Izuku and Ochako pushed their way to the barrier to see the firemen in action.
He noticed the side of one of the ladder trucks had a big 9 on it. "Hey, that's my dad's company over there."
"Your dad's a fireman?" Ochako said in wonder.
"Yeah, he's a battalion chief. If I weren't so set on being a hero like All Might, I'd be training to join the force."
"Izuku? What are you doing here?" A rough voice called out. The two looked up to see a taller, green haired man in a black and yellow suit.
"Oh, hey Dad! We saw the engines! Didn't know you were on this fire!" Izuku told him
"I wouldn't be, but this is at least a three-alarm fire." Just then the flames, which were being pushed back flared up in a fiery cyclone. "Shit! Everyone get back!" Hisashi told the crowd. The firemen fighting the fire, quickly backed up.
As the inferno began to die down, someone…no, something emerged from the blazing doorway. It was a large, skeletal figure, with red molten skin, surrounded by white flames that melted part of the road underneath
"Fuck, it's the Nova!" Hisashi cursed, getting on the radio. "Where the hell is the Fire Force?"
"Company 8 is on its way, ETA five minutes."
"Alright, we'll buy some time!" He acknowledged.
In the last couple of decades, a new, strange phenomenon began to occur. Seemingly at random, people began to spontaneously erupt into flames. While at first passed off as a myth, the cases mounted, until finally it could be ignored no longer. These creatures, dubbed Novae, after the explosive force of Supernovas, were the result of people catching fire through the mysterious phenomenon of Spontaneous Human Combustion. The unfortunate victim would die on the spot, transformed into nightmarish monsters that could not be classified simply as Villains.
As a result, special task forces were established all over the world. These task forces were to work in conjunction with the fire departments and the Hero commissions of their respective jurisdictions to fight and contain the Nova menace, while also researching the phenomenon. In Japan, they were called En'en no Shōbōtai, or the Fire Force.
One of the officers radioed in. "We still got men inside, they were trying to evac the last people!"
"Shit! All units hold the line until the Fire Force arrives! Command, are there heroes nearby that can help!"
"Sending the call now!"
Izuku heard what his dad was saying and gulped. Ochako looked at him. "Izuku-san?"
"If there are still people in there with Novae, then they might get seriously hurt. I can't stay here and do nothing," He grumbled clenching his fists.
"Izuku…we're not trained to do this," Ochako pointed out to him. "We just took an exhaustive test, and we aren't even licensed pros. We can't do anything…at least now."
Before Izuku could respond, a loud laugh was heard as a large shadow flew overhead. "A Nova menace in my city? Have no fear, everyone!" The shadow grew bigger as it crashed from above. The figure landed in a crouch, kicking up a cloud of dust and created a crater under his feet., which then blew away to reveal a muscular, blond man in a red, white, and blue suit. "For I am Here!"
The civilians and the firemen's morale improved as Japan's number 1 Hero appeared. "All Might!" They cheered.
Hisashi laughed. "Well, as far as Hero support goes, we can't do worse with you. Good to see you, All Might!"
"Indeed, Chief! What's the situation?"
Before he could answer another siren was heard. This came from a large, armored truck with a gold plated 8, which pulled up next to the trucks. The door flew open and three figures, clad in thick black, red, and yellow firefighter cloaks and hard hats climbed out: two men and a young woman in her mid-twenties. The commander was a young muscular man with wild, unkempt hair and an easygoing smile. His subordinate by contrast was very serious, his glasses reflecting the fire in front of them. The woman had a witch's hat on, with a cape flowing behind her, plus two small fireballs over her shoulder.
The commander walked up to Hisashi. "What's the situation?"
"We still have men trapped in there with unknown civilians, Obi-san. If we don't do something quick…"
"Civilians? I can handle them!" All Might offered.
"Appreciated, All Might!" Obi saluted. "Hinawa, Oze, let's give this Nova a Company 8 welcome!" He ordered as a faceplate came down and he brought out a large shield.
The other man, Hinawa, pulled out a launcher and fired a large canister at the Nova. It exploded into a foam that suppressed some of the flames, but it only brought attention to them. This allowed All Might to slip in behind them.
The Number 1 Hero barreled through the hall and began to look for the trapped men. The first floor was mostly fine save for smoke and water damage.
"Anyone here?" All Might called out, coughing slightly.
"Over here!" A male voice called out. The two rushed over to see two firemen, shaken but unharmed. "We were trying to get these two out when the Nova popped up." They revealed a mother and her son, the son lighting up at the sight of All Might.
All Might got on the radio. "Midoriya-san, how many are missing?"
"Four."
"I got two here, with two civilians. I'm gonna check the rest of the floors!" He called back as he helped the four get out.
"Be careful!" Hisashi ordered as his men stared down the Nova who merely roared and raced after them. The effect of the foam canister had slowed the Nova down, but it still roared as it charged the trucks.
"Maki! Go!" Hinawa ordered as he loaded up another canister. Maki raised her hands and two small orbs of flames appeared above her shoulders
Oze Maki. Quirk: Hinotama! Those two Flame orbs are her friends and companions, which she can control! But watch out they can burn you alive!"
The two orbs, both with smiling faces, flew at the Nova, causing it pain. It quickly swiped at them, trying to absorb the flames. Maki grinned and flicked her fingers as if they were puppets, causing the fireballs to dance out of the way.
Hinawa then held up a large handgun with a canister on it, his eyes glowing
Hinawa Takehisa. Quirk: Ballistics! He can alter the trajectory and stopping power of any projectile. The amount of focus and timing required is insane! No wonder he glares all the time.
He fired the canister and struck the ground behind the Nova. Upon impact, it continued to spin and grind against the ground, striking sparks. Then it suddenly redirected straight into the Nova's shoulder, exploding with foam, and covering most of the flames.
"That's it! Anyone who's got a spare hose, concentrate on the Nova! Now!" Hisashi ordered. Soon, five large sprays of high-pressure water aimed at the beast, causing it to scream as the flames sputtered and steamed. Obi saw an opening and rushed in, slamming his shield into its back, dropping him to the ground.
"Kyandora Enboa. Quirk: Candlelight. I don't know what sort of person you were before this but know that none of this was your fault. Find peace in the afterlife," Obi told it. Everyone in earshot bowed their heads. Novae, while dangerous and had to be put down, were just as much victims, constantly feeling the pain of being burned alive. Fire Force, in their quest tounderstand them, had to do this regularly. Raising the shield up, he quickly brought it down on the beast's head, crushing it and putting it out of its misery.
Obi sighed as he pulled his face plate up. "Never gets easier…great job, you two."
"Sure thing, chief!" replied Maki, saluting.
Hinawa grunted. "Naturally."
Behind them, there was a loud rumbling as the building began to collapse. "Everyone back!" Hisashi ordered as the building began to fall apart. People screamed, knowing there were still people and All Might in there.
A few tense moments passed as the smoke was still pretty thick. Then, a familiar laughter was heard as the debris shifted as All Might's visage appeared through the smoke. Izuku, seeing this, was instantly sent back to when he first saw All Might's debut rescue when he was just a young boy, and he couldn't get enough of the video. That same smile was in mind the day when he discovered his Quirk, and his parents were ready to support his dream of being a hero. One of his own grins split his face as he took in the awesome scene. "All Might!" He cried out as he stood tall with the remaining civilians and firemen, shaken but undeniably relieved to be saved.
The rest of the crowd cheered, not just for him, but for the brave men and women who got everyone out. Sure, the building was a loss…but with the exception of the Nova, no one was killed.
Minutes later, the crews were in the process of dousing hotspots and other smaller fires among the rubble. All Might was getting oxygen supplied to him in front of the Fire Force van. Hisashi, Izuku and Ochako walked up to the truck, the two students bearing stars in their eyes. "Thanks for the assistance, All Might. You really are the Number 1 Hero," Izuku's father was saying to the brawny blond man.
The giant man took his mask off. "Any time Midoriya-taicho! It's what a hero's here for." He looked and saw a familiar green hair. "Ah, I take it this is your boy?"
"Yes!" Hisashi beamed. "This is Izuku and his…friend, I guess. They just took the Entrance exam at UA."
"Ah, excellent! I'm sure you two did wonderfully!" The big man laughed before coughing.
Obi saw this and pounded the truck. "All Might needs to rest, kiddo, I'm sure you do too."
"Can I get an autograph before we leave?" Izuku pleaded, his puppy dog eyes in full effect, a notebook already out.
"Of course!" the Number 1 hero laughed, signing with a flourish, before being loaded onto the truck and driving away.
"Wow…that was so amazing," Izuku said to his dad. "You and everyone did so awesome. What were their Quirks? How is the Fire Force so good?
"One question at a time, son," Hisashi laughed, rubbing his son's hair. "So, who is this young lady? I assumed that she took the exam with you, but I don't know for sure, do I?"
Ochako blushed at the idea of meeting his dad like this. "Oh…um I'm Uraraka Ochako. He helped me in the exam."
"A lady killer already?" Hisashi teased. "So, where do you live?"
At this Ochako gasped. "Damn it, my trains in like ten minutes!"
"Boys can finish up here, let's get in my truck!" Hisashi ordered as they raced over to his truck and climbed in. Within seconds they were racing down to the Mustafu station, with lights blaring making people get out of the way. With the lights blaring, they pulled up to the station.
"Thank you, Midoriya-san," Ochako bowed as she texted something to Izuku's phone. "Hope to see you at UA, Izuku-kun!"
As the girl raced up to the station, Hisashi chuckled. "First number from a girl huh? Mom's gonna be talking about grandkids when we get home."
Izuku groaned, as much as he was about to become a university student, he still suffered the teenage curse of embarrassing parents.
With Obi and All Might
As Company 8 sped away, Obi glanced in the back. "That was close huh Toshi?"
A coughing was heard followed by smoke enveloped the interior. In All Might's place was an emaciated man with similar blonde hair. "When I was younger, I could have done that no problem."
"You also didn't have that wound that can't be healed," Maki pointed out.
Toshinori winced remembering the battle that limited his powers and presence. "Thanks for the cover."
"No problem. Though, I have to ask…have you found a successor yet?"
Toshi shook his head. "I…have a candidate that was provided to me. But I don't know if I should."
"Hmm," Hinawa wondered. "Is that why you're going to be a teacher at UA? To look for a successor."
"Part of it, and part of it is so I can start scaling back my duties. There's going to be a day I'm not around."
Obi hummed as they approached UA's gates. "But when that day comes…will we be ready?"
One Week Later
With nothing more to do but wait for the acceptance letter, Izuku kept up his training in both his Quirk and Muay Thai. As Izuku practiced on his training dummy in a quiet corner of their home, his mother watched with a smile. It was hard watching not only her husband in a dangerous field, but also her son soon to begin his own hero journey. But she swore when she married Hisashi and when Izuku asked if he could be a hero, she would support them no matter what. And as she watched her son train, she could smile knowing she did her part in raising an amazing young man.
Seeing he was finishing his Kata, Inko decided to approach him carrying a large envelope. "Sweetie, UA's letter came in."
"It did?" Izuku's lit up at that. "Awesome, is dad home?"
"He just got home. I bet he wants to watch it too."
The two walked into the living room where the man in question had changed into a t shirt and jeans. "Alright son, let's see how much you impressed Yuuei!"
Izuku nodded and tore open the envelope. Inside was a hologram projector that lit up. Instantly the familiar vestige of All Might in a tweed suit. "Greetings Izuku my boy! It is I; All Might coming to you to deliver your Yuuei test scores! Before I do, I just want you to know that this year, yours truly will be teaching at Yuuei!"
"That is so cool!" Izuku said stars in his eyes.
"Right, as for you, my boy. You scored 50 Villain points, which while already impressive, pales in comparison to your Hero points. Yes, we saw you save a fellow test taker and lead the robots away from the others. With a resolve like that, there's no way we wouldn't allow you in. But we had to give you a score. So, you got 60 Hero points, for a combined 110. Safe to say my boy, you score top marks! Let me be the first to welcome you to Yuuei Academy! This is your Hero Academia!
The parents squealed as the recording ended and hugged their son in celebration as Izuku cried happy tears. This is the first step to being a great Hero!
He felt his phone buzz and saw Ochako texted him: I got in! Did you?
Izuku smiled at that, knowing he have at least one friend there on his way to becoming the greatest hero Japan had ever seen.
