Chapter 1: A Boy Named Naruto Uzumaki

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto

A young boy was currently on top of a mountain, laying down on one of the four stone heads on that mountain, all alone, waiting for the sunrise to start the day.

Why was the kid waiting for the sunrise all alone? Why weren't his parents stopping him from staying out so late?

The kid didn't have any parents, siblings, friends, or even pets. He was all alone and because of that, he would start every day just like this one, waiting for the sun to come up.

As he was looking up at the sky, counting the clouds, he thought of how life would be if he knew who his parents were.

'I doubt anything would change, they gave me up for a reason after all' he thought as he closed his eyes in order to stop the tears that were starting to build up behind his eyes.

As these tears starting to build up, the kid couldn't help but wonder if the villagers were right.

'Maybe what the people say is right, maybe I am just some demon, and that's why they gave me up.'

The little boy was referring to how every single day since the day he could walk, he was constantly being given many cruel names and stared from the grownups of his village, and even the kids.

'Forget it' he thought before deciding to turn around and sleep as a way to forget about the thoughts on his head.

The name of this boy was Naruto Uzumaki

(Naruto age: 5)

Naruto woke up later on from his slumber after feeling the sun rays hit his back and wake him up as a result.

He got up and after he did, he looked down at his clock and saw that it was eleven.

"Jiji is always at work at the is time, maybe I can stop by and see what he's doing" Naruto said before walking off to do as he said.

Why did Naruto say the words Jiji when he didn't have a family?

Well the answer was simply because this person wasn't his biological grandfather, but was like a grandfather to him either way.

Naruto would always come to him whenever he had a problem and they would always spend time together.

Despite the fact that Naruto's grandfather figure was a very busy man, due to being the ruler of a whole village, he always made time for the blond and on average they would usually spend a little over four hours together.

So yes, while the man wasn't technically his grandfather, he was all the young blond had, but he was happy to have someone to play with nonetheless.

'I wonder if I can get Jiji to teach me a Jutsu to better defend myself against those adults that always try to pick a fight with me' Naruto thought as he continued walking to the tower that his Jiji resided at. 'Of course I can't tell him that it's grown adults or else he'll wanna know who it is, so I'll just tell him that I just wanna learn.'

With that final thought Naruto continued walking off to get to his destination.

(Half an Hour Later)

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Hokage and ruler of the Leaf Village was currently just doing some paperwork in his office when outta nowhere, he heard knocking at his window.

'Who could that be?' He thought before turning his head around and seeing that it was the young blond boy that he vowed to take full responsibility for. "Ah, Naruto-Kun, come in."

Naruto nodded and entered the room through the window.

"How did you get there and what's the occasion?" Hiruzen asked.

"I got here by jumping and sliding down the Hokage Head Mountain and I'm her because I wanna know if you could teach me a Jutsu" Naruto answered.

"Is there a reason?" Hiruzen asked. "Did anything bad happen?"

"Nope, nothing bad happened, I just wanna learn" Naruto lied.

Naruto didn't know it, but Hiruzen could always tell when he was lying. It honestly hurt Hiruzen knowing this, because knowing that Naruto was hurt but didn't have the courage to speak out really spoke volumes with how vile the situation is.

'Poor Naruto' Hiruzen thought sadly with a sigh, as he thought of how dire the situation must be. 'I wish I could help him, but he never tells me who does this to him, so I can't punish them for doing that shit to a little kid.'

However, he knew that Naruto must've had his reasons, and he hopes that someday, he'll be able to open up to him or somebody else, but for now, this is all he can do.

So he clears the pipe in his hand and tells Naruto

"Of course."

Naruto happily waved his hands in the air and then they start.

(Six Hours Later)

Naruto was now leaving the Hokage Tower through the front door, and was waving goodbye to his grandfather figure.

"See ya tomorrow Jiji" Naruto said while waving one of his hands.

"See ya tomorrow Naruto-Kun" Hiruzen replied before going back inside his tower.

After this was all said and done, Naruto turned around and was about to start walking back to his house, but right as he was about to, he noticed lots of people around the tower whispering amongst themselves.

"Hokage-Sama is far too nice" one of the villagers whispered to another.

"Agreed, I'd have offed the demon the day he was born" the other whispered back.

"The demon doesn't deserve to be alive" a different one said.

"You killed my brother!" one of the villagers yelled out before throwing a can of tomatoes at Naruto.

Naruto just narrowly dodged the can and after he did, several other villagers started throwing their cans at him too.

"You killed my wife!"

"You killed my mother!"

"Just die already!"

Naruto managed to avoid all the objects thrown at him and once he did, he just collected his breath and looked around to see if more were coming.

When he saw that all the villagers ran out of things to throw, he saw that they all decided to go back to just glaring angrily at him.

There it was again, those damn eyes that Naruto hated so much.

Seeing those eyes made Naruto start to tear up before he looked down to the ground and clenched his fists tightly.

'What did I ever do to them?' He thought before running as fast as he could out of that part of town.

(Minutes Later)

After a couple minutes passed, Naruto found himself right behind some forrest.

Out of pure despair, he entered it, not wanting to be anywhere near any grownups and just wanted to be alone. However, as soon as he entered it, he heard what sounded like a little girl crying.

Of course, him being on the verge of tears himself, he sympathized with the voice and followed it to see where it was coming from.

After a couple steps, he saw that indeed it was coming from a girl, a little girl about the same age as him with bluish black hair, that was currently being bullied by a group of three older boys.

Naruto knew that he couldn't just let that happen, so he walked up behind the boys and shouted

"Hey!"

The boys turned around after hearing this, and so did the girl.

"What do you want?" One of the boys asked.

"Why are you picking on her?" Naruto asked.

"She stepped on one of my shoes" another boy replied.

"Shoes, that's it?! Get over it and leave her alone!" Naruto yelled.

"Oh, and who's gonna make us?" The last boy asked with an evil grin on his face.

"I will" Naruto started before striking a pose. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

After making the call, three hundred other Narutos appeared.

The group of boys went from grinning to dropping their mouths and begging for mercy.

"I'm sorry, I'm so, so, so sorry!" One of the boys started apologizing loudly.

"P-please, don't hurt us!" One of the boys shouted.

"Y-yeah, please, we won't bother you or her again just don't!" Another started before they were all rushed down by the three hundred Naruto's.

After about ten seconds, the beating stopped and all three hundred Narutos disappeared.

Once they did, Naruto let out a light intake of air, as the amount of clones he created really did a number on him.

As he was breathing in and out though, he heard

"Thank you" and turned around to see that it was from the little girl that he just saved.

"You're welcome" he replied with a smile.

The little girl looked at Naruto and said

"You know, you're really strong."

"Really?" Naruto asked, genuinely confused.

"Yeah, I don't know any other kids my age who can do what you just did and be relatively fine" she replied.

"Thank you" Naruto responded with a smile.

Once the smile left Naruto's face, he looked at Hinata and asked her

"Want me to walk you home?"

"Sure" she replied.

"Where do you live?" He queried.

"The Hyuga Compound" she responded.

"Ok, follow me" Naruto said before she did as he said and let him lead the way.

As they were walking, Naruto noticed that he never asked the one question he should've asked by now. So he turned to the young girl and asked her

"So, what's your name?"

"My name is Hinata, Hinata Hyuga" she responded.

After hearing the girl, Naruto responded with

"Oh, well nice to meet you" Naruto started to greet. "I'm Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki."

Both smiled and then continued walking.

(Half an Hour Later)

Naruto and Hinata were both right outside the Hyuga Compound, just waving each other goodbye.

"Goodbye Hinata-Chan" Naruto said with a wave of his hand.

"Bye, Naruto-Kun" Hinata before departing.

Once Hinata departed and entered her household, Naruto too made his way back home.

As he made it halfway to his apartment, he realized something.

He looked down at his clock to see if he had enough time to do it, and surely enough, he did.

So he turned around and sprinted as fast as possible to get to his desired destination.

(The Hokage Tower)

Hiruzen was finishing up the last of his paperwork when outta nowhere.

"Jiji."

"Tah!" Hiruzen shouted, completely startled and caught off guard, and as a result, dropped the last paper he had to work on, on the ground.

After calming down, he turned around and saw the person who scared him just squatting on the window sill of his office.

"Oh, it's just you Naruto-Kun."

"Yep, it's me Jiji" Naruto replied.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" The old man asked.

"Yeah, there is actually."

"What?"

Naruto just looked down then back up at the aged old man and asked him

"Starting today, can you train me?"

Hiruzen was caught off guard even further by this. Besides today, Naruto never came up to him and told him he wanted to train, so of course he was curious as to the reason why. So he asked him.

"May I ask why?" Hiruzen questioned.

"Well you see, I just made a friend, and I wanna be able to protect her as best as I can, and I know that you are the best ninja in the village right now. So I was wondering if you could teach me everything you know so that I can protect her to the best of my abilities."

'He has a gentle heart' Hiruzen thought with pride. "Okay, starting today, I'll teach you everything I can whenever you want to, since I know you'll wanna spend some time with your new friend."

"Alright" Naruto started before getting offf the window sill and hugging the old man. "Thanks Jiji."

"You're welcome Naruto-Kun" Hiruzen replied, hugging the little boy back.

The two then broke the embrace after a couple seconds and then Hiruzen asked Naruto

"Wanna start now?"

"Dattebayo!"

To Be Continued...

Author's Note:

The first five chapters are gonna be at the absolute least 2k words (The first two chapters are each gonna be the introductions of Naruto and Ino), hope you guys enjoy.

Also yes, in this story, Hiruzen actually did take responsibility of Naruto instead of just having him fend off for his own.
