Author's Note

I do not own Kim Possible.

The next week followed the same routine. They attended classes – many of which were taught by Mr Barkin, the man was everywhere – did their work, kept to themselves and stayed together. Ron wasn't in all their classes, but he was in a lot of them, and Kim paired with him in those classes, so her siblings could stay together.

Another thing she did was set up a website, so that she could journal her days and what she had learned. It was a silly thing, but it kept her focused. On an evening they did any homework and practiced their combat skills.

"The only thing that worries me," Helios said one Friday, perched on a branch of the big tree in the garden, "Is we're not exactly being subtle. It would be easy for them to find us."

"You mean the doctors?" Kim asked, crouching beside him.

"Yeah."

Kim rustled her wings and held out a hand, igniting her glow. It was brighter than when she was younger, and she had found she could use it to move things, sometimes, not just explode them.

"They'll be in for a surprise."

Helios laughed. "Yeah."

Kim looked at him. "Helios?"

"Mm?"

"Where did you come from? Originally, at the lab. Because I always knew you and– and– you weren't like us."

He shook his head. "We were part of a different program. Meant as soldiers, or to hunt down escaped experiments like us."

Kim laughed. "Oh, irony."

"Yeah."

"So what happened?"

"They shut it down. Can we… not talk about this?"

"Sure thing."

The next Monday, the school was plastered with posters for various clubs and sports teams. Kim pulled the one from her locker. "Cheerleading? What's cheerleading?"

"Oh, it's a girl thing," said Ron. "Support for the football team. Lots of jumping around. Why?"

"Like kung fu?"

"Er, no. I don't think so. Again, why?"

"Can anyone cheerlead?"

"I mean, you have to make the team first. Tryouts are Wednesday, see?" He pointed out the date. "Why?"

"Can I cheerlead?"

"You? Cheerleading? KP, your wings!"

"You said we should learn to be normal. This is normal, right? I'm gonna try out for cheerleading!" She glanced at her sister. "Goldie too."

Ron groaned. "And nothing at all could go wrong with this idea."

"It'll be fun," Kim said. "You wanted us to have fun. Well, let's have some."
