Chapter 14
Cast away in a far off land, a certain individual gazed at the images of Naota, Vali and a few others.
Their eyes specifically went towards Naota and Vali, a deranged look appearing on their face.
"Time to see if my creations, can have any improvements."
A deep dark chuckle escaped the individuals mouth.
Along with that, a deep dark roaring sound could be heard coming from behind the individual.
Eyes with intense rage, the targets being the Longinus wielders and how they would go about this, only time would tell…
After becoming acquainted with Asia, Naota and the young nun sat down together in a relatively packed place. Because she was nervous, Naota thought this kind of setting would be good. He'd also make sure that others wouldn't be capable of hearing any of the conversation that they'd have.
When Naota asked "Want anything to drink?" the young nun gives a shy smile, and inclines her neck.
Naota got her some water per her request, and then sat down to speak with her.
"So, first, I'd like to say I'm sorry. About being let go from the church, it must've been a hard, and difficult time for you."
Asia bows her head.
"Yes, it was quite hard. I don't really know much about this world, I haven't explored it that much. And no one seems to know my language~"
"Good thing supernatural beings such as myself have that Language ability, huh." Naota mused, seeing Asia looking less stiff than she did beforehand. "So, I'm sure you're curious about what I'm going to speak with you about."
"A little yes."
She said nervously, so Naota gave a kind friendly smile.
"Lets say that before anything like that, how are you feeling Asia-san?"
Asia tilts her head curiously.
"How, I'm feeling?"
"Yeah, you know. If you're okay with this setting? Or do you wanna choose somewhere else?"
He played it cool, and tried to speak as calmly as possible.
Asia hums and shakes her head.
"This is fine...but to be honest, I never thought that I'd meet you. Someone so famous, I think its an honour to meet you."
Naota rests his hands on the table, giving off a friendly demeanour.
"I've had my fair share of run ins with the church over the years so I'm not surprised you've at least heard of me before. So, heard any positive things about me~?"
Naota said with a light hearted expression, and joke at the same time, he was sure the church itself would only have negative things to say, apart from a few people, though Naota wouldn't be sure if she had ever seen them or not.
Asia surprised him and nods her head.
"I heard from you, from Eminence Strada."
Naota was stunned by that revelation.
That was a name he hadn't heard in a while.
"Is that right?"
Asia confirmed it with a nod, and began explaining.
"Yes, he has told me stories about you and his time that he met you. He said at first, he thought you, and the others, were enemies. But, as you both fought one another, you got to speaking and he saw something inside of you."
"Oh?"
Naota said with intrigue.
He always was interested in Strada, it was one of the best and worst moments of his life, and Strada was the reason, albeit due to being set up, why he was able to attain Balance Breaker.
"Yes, he said he saw your heart."
Naota was taken aback by that answer.
"My heart huh? Back then, it really was a desperate time, Strada-san was a monster of the strongest calibre. He was an enemy that could flick you and you'd die, especially when being that young. I know that back then, he was a mountain compared to me, I had trouble facing him down. I wonder how we'd stack up against one another now? Aah, it would be good to find out at some point."
Naota said joyfully.
He would love to have a fight with Strada once more.
He would love to be able to see him use Durandal, as Naota never did see that in the first place.
Asia leaned forward, intrigued.
"Yes, he said to me that day, he saw a Devil that was really pure. Protecting his friends, and rising to the occasion. He said that he felt respect like that for very few others in the world, and placed you on the same calibre as those from Heaven."
Naota once more had to admit to being taken aback by that.
He never thought Strada would tell anyone about their encounter.
To him, it meant that Strada trusted Asia like no other or saw something in her that meant he could trust her with this story, and thought about contacting him to let him know that she would be safe.
"Wow, Strada-san really big's me up huh?"
"Big's, you up?"
Asia replied, confused.
Naota waved his hand.
"Never mind, it just means he's talking high praise of me."
Asia understood immediately.
"Ooh yes, that's quite true. He said to me that you would be a very influential being in the future, and I suppose now is that time?"
Naota gave a light smile to himself.
Even though they were enemies in the past, he always did find Strada to be a very noble man, and one that he'd hope to be able to see one day.
"Yeah, its strange really. I was a child back then. We had this dynamic between us, even though we were on opposite sides, we had this innate desire to push ourselves. He probably couldn't have fought to his highest potential back then, me being a kid and all. Still, even though he was the enemy, I respected him so much for his strength as a human and his drive to fight. Though he was deceived at the time, I could tell that if we hadn't of been enemies, we could've become friends."
Asia cups her hands together.
Her eyes flicker with a radiant light.
She was enamoured to hear what Naota was saying.
She always did like Strada and his beliefs, among other things, so hearing about him from a Devils perspective, did bring new things within the young woman she couldn't deny being rather good.
Naota thought she looked rather cute when she did that.
"Yes, he saw something about you, that shines like a star. He told me, that you fought so hard, to protect your family. Those you care for, and love." Asia said it with a serene smile on her face. "I am interested to know more about you Naota-san. When Eminence Strada-san told me about you, I did wish to meet you, and now that I have, I have to say that I wish to know more about you."
Naota was glad to hear that from Asia.
He could see even a little bit, that Strada helped cross the divide between the two of them.
Her being from the church, she naturally would be cautious of Devils.
So now, this is what she thought was truly good.
"Well, I'm glad that he said such good things. And I'm glad that you know him. Haha, you can ask me anything you like Asia-san~ But first, about where you wish to go. Since its late, its probably best to go to a hotel. I'd offer you a place at my home, but how would you feel about that? There are plenty of Devils there, but I can assure you that they'd not harm you whatsoever."
Asia thought about it.
She didn't know what to do.
She definitely wished to know more about Naota, and she knew that if Naota truly had any intentions of harming her, he could take her by force. He was leagues above her in terms of being able to fight. So this was a no brainer to Asia really.
"I, don't mind going with you, Naota-san."
Naota was surprised she said that.
He thought she'd need some more convincing.
"Sure, that's fine. But, you're okay with that?"
"Yes, I understand that it seems a bit weird. But, truth be told, if you intended me harm, you wouldn't give me any choices."
He could see her logic.
"Quite true. If you're happy enough to come with me, then we can carry this conversation back on at the home."
Asia nods.
She felt like she had trust in Naota, she could see that he had a big heart, and only wished to help her.
Meanwhile, Raynare was feeling a little dejected.
She kept thinking about what she was supposed to do now, with the situation she had planned, not exactly panning out how she had hoped.
Along with that, she also wished that Dohnaseek hadn't done anything that could cause them to be destroyed in the future, and that at least, he would keep quiet about what truly was going on.
Raynare went into the main hall of the abandoned church, and saw Mittelt laying on a pew, fast asleep.
A grin came to Raynare's face, along with an idea that she thought would truly make her feel better than she did at that time.
"Ooh Mittelt, sleeping around when there's work to be done? Its time to wake up with a start~"
Raynare developed a sly grin.
She edged closer to Mittelt, her hands tightened with her excitement being shown evidently on her face.
Along the way, she summoned her phone and was going through numerous videos, until she came to the loudest one she could think of.
Trying hard to keep herself from laughing, Raynare stood over the unsuspecting Mittelt.
"Time to pay you back for the pain and humiliation you've caused me over the years Mittelt. Also, Kokabiel is no way hotter than Azazel-sama, and you are no way hotter than me anyway, so lets finish this once and for all. So I can finally be with Azazel-sama and you not to get in my way you crazy girl. Being positive, I'll show you positive."
Raynare moved her phone to Mittelt's ear.
The sleeping Mittelt mews in her snooze.
Raynare's finger went to press play…
When suddenly Kalawarner appears from behind Raynare, and bangs a hand held drum right into Raynare's ear, with the sound reverberating all around the area.
"Aaaaaaaaaah!"
Raynare screamed as Mittelt's eyes were forced open, releasing an ear piercing scream.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!"
Mittelt shot up with a start, her eyes displaying fear, as well as she was trembling.
Her heart was rapid in her chest.
She looked around for the source.
She saw Raynare looking extremely pissed, while Kalawarner was laughing.
"What the hell Kalawarner?!" Raynare snapped, her eyes displaying her belligerent anger. "You could've waited until I did it to Mittelt!"
Mittelt looked confused.
"W-What? Why are you people being so loud?"
Mittelt was confused.
But then she saw Raynare raising her hand, and tossed a dark look at Mittelt.
"You ruin everything Mittelt!"
Mittelt drew a blank.
"W-What? I don't know what I did! W-What did I do?!"
Raynare became teary eyed, and began walking away.
"You are the reason Azazel-sama and I aren't together! You're sucking the life force out of me and I'm withering away because of you! And we get it, you're dating Kokabiel, please stop talking about it!"
Mittelt cringed, seeing Raynare storm out.
Kalawarner looked perplexed, she didn't know what was going on.
"W-What was that about Kalawarner?"
Mittelt cast her curious gaze to where Raynare disappeared.
Kalawarner shrugged her shoulders, tossing her eyes to the ceiling.
But then a thought came to her, and she shot her eyes for the worried Mittelt.
"Are you with Kokabiel?"
Mittelt jumped at the question.
"W-What?!"
Mittelt exclaimed/yelled while seeing Kalawarner having super serious eyes.
"Are you?"
Kalawarner questioned once more, Mittelt looked shell shocked.
"I'm, I'm not going to be with him, a-am I? He's weird, and I'm not…I mean, I'm pretty nice…and he is…n-no, I'm not!"
Mittelt looked down at the ground, feeling a wave of shyness flood her system.
Kalawarner folded her arms, and stared at the petite Fallen Angel with strict eyes.
"Who are you with? Don't lie to me, I know you're with someone…" Kalawarner suddenly gasped, confusing Mittelt. "Ooh shit, you're with Azazel-sama! That's why Raynare hates you!"
Mittelt looked devastated.
"W-What!? N-No, I'm not with him!"
Kalawarner folded her arms in victory.
"I've figured it out, you've been with Azazel-sama this entire time! And you're faking it, so Raynare doesn't find out! She can sense a connection between you and Azazel-sama, though she doesn't know about it fully and can't confirm it, that's why she throws shade at you! This is rich! This is really rich! But, I'm surprised, doesn't Azazel-sama usually go for those that have large breasts? Huh, guess he made an exception for you."
"Hey!" Mittelt chimed. "I'm, I'm good looking! It isn't always about breast size you evil witch!"
Mittelt defended.
Kalawarner looked angry.
"What did you just call me?"
Kalawarner's voice was low, and unforgiving.
Mittelt shook in place.
"N-Nothing…"
Mittelt's tiny voice came out in a squeak, Kalawarner gave a victory look.
"Yeah, alright then. That's what I thought." Kalawarner dismissed her worries. "But, how are you going to break this to Raynare? Poor girls been obsessed with Azazel-sama for years, and now you've swooped in with your loli charms-" Mittelt glared. "-and embraced our leader, while having Kokabiel on the side. Ooh no, is it threesome territory?"
"K-Kokabiel-sama on the side!? Embracing our leader!? Threesomes!? Ooh noooooooooo! If Raynare-sama thinks this is true, then she might be angry at me! Please calm down! Don't say anything more about this! Is that why she gets angry at me?! She thinks me and Azazel-sama are dating! It isn't true!"
Snapping and appearing fearful at the same time, Mittelt folded her arms under her bust in anger.
Kalawarner showed a large grin on her face.
"Damn, this is a love square, isn't it? Hmm, usually I don't involve myself with these things, but this is going to be fun."
"But, this is…"
Mittelt tried to explain, but Kalawarner didn't care, and walked off with a whistle, while Mittelt was left contemplating what she was going to do now…
As the morning hit her eyes, Asia began opening said eyes.
She lifted her body off of the bed, sitting up in said bed.
She couldn't get over how large it was. The room overall was so big, she never had stayed in a room quite like it. Though she didn't know how to work it, there was a large TV in the room as well, she even saw a door leading to a private bathroom.
She smiled to herself, and went to move, when she noticed a note on the floor due to a small glow that it gave off.
She walked closer, and picked it up, with it saying "Open the bedroom door." so she did just that, and saw some clothing laid out beautifully on the floor.
It was a replica of her nuns outfit, right down to the patterns and everything.
She did recall Naota saying he'd have some clothes delivered to her, so she guessed these were them.
"He left them outside my room, he didn't want to disturb me...that's really so kind of him. He even got me so similar clothing...Naota-san, maybe Strada-san was right after all. You really are a kind Devil."
Asia beamed a smile, and picked up the clothing.
She went back into her room, and got dressed.
When she was finished, she walked out of the bedroom, and into the long hallway.
She looked left, and right, not a soul was around.
So she went towards the stairs, when she heard noises coming from down the stairs.
"A voice...Naota-san did say others stayed here. Maybe I should go there...see who it could be."
Asia thought, and traversed the stairs.
Going down a few steps, she could hear the noise growing louder.
So she began going down the stairs, and went to the kitchen.
When she got there, she saw Rias perched over the table, humming a song while brandishing a knife.
Next to her, was a grinning Kuroka, who kept whispering "You're gonna have to do it, its the rules of the game." Rias gave strained eyes in return.
Asia gave distrustful looks over the knife, but then Rias placed the knife down, and turned up the music.
"Push the button~ Push push the button and let me know~ Yeah Naota-kun, push my button~"
Asia watched Rias beginning to do a little dance to herself, believing that she was alone, besides Kuroka who wore a big fat smile on her face, resisting the urge to laugh when she saw Rias shaking her hips back and forth, thrusting her fists at her chest and away in time to the beat of the song.
"Beautiful, this is beautiful nyaaa."
Kuroka grinned, letting out the tiniest of laughs when she thought it was truly funny.
Asia became red in the face, embarrassment spreading all over her cheeks.
"Eep!"
Asia let out, Rias screamed "Aaaah!" swiftly turning around to see Asia stood there with half lidded eyes, trying to work out what was going on.
Kuroka began laughing loud.
"Geez, every time you do something fun like this, someone always walks in nyaaa."
Rias gave darkened eyes to Kuroka, who winked right back at her.
"I'm not playing this game again. I keep getting embarrassed."
"Well, if that's how you feel nyaaa. I'll see you tomorrow for the next round of the game."
Rias pursed her lips, seeing the strong smile of Kuroka's, it was suckering her in and it was difficult in trying to look away.
"…Perhaps I will play again. But we've got to lock the door if we play it again."
Kuroka laughed to herself as she walked out, going past Asia and whispered "Nice to meet you nun-chan~" with a wide smile, Asia gave her own timid one right back.
Asia in turn looked confused, Rias turned to her with a benevolent smile.
"Well, that wasn't how I wished to introduce myself, but I suppose I can't be a chooser now." Rias brushed her hands off on her outfit, and walked closer to the worried Asia. "Sorry for worrying you, I'm also an occupant of this house, and you're, Asia Argento, is that right?"
Asia only nods.
She was trying to process what was happening.
"Erm…you dance, very well…"
Asia said it shyly.
Rias raises a hand to her forehead, and sighs.
"It was a dare…a game, and I foolishly forgot to close the door before I did it. Sorry you had to see my less than adequate dance skills." Rias apologized, and rubbed the back of her head in a sheepish manner. "So, you're the nun Naota-kun brought home with him? He mentioned about you being here. To be honest, its my first time seeing a nun this close, without us being on opposing sides…well, I'd hope that we aren't anyway."
Asia shyly nods.
"Y-Yes, that's correct. And you are…?"
Rias pushes herself closer to Asia.
"Forgive me, my name is Rias Gremory, fiancee to Naota-kun."
Asia nearly spluttered when she heard that.
"Y-You are his fiancee?!"
Rias nods a single time.
"Yes, that's correct. Our families thought it would be the most appropriate…and others also thought about us being good together, but we get along very well." Rias assured. "By the way, Naota-kun just had to step out, but he told me to tell you if you've got any questions or concerns, please tell me or someone else in the house, and to relax. You can do anything you'd like to do while here."
Rias confirmed it with a soft hearted smile on her face.
Asia felt a little more relaxed.
Rias then approached fully, and showed a compassionate face.
"Want to go and have breakfast with me? I've just about finished making it."
Asia poked her fingers together in a cute manner.
"Yes, that would be good."
Asia felt a little relaxed around Rias.
Though she did have her guard up, right now, after all of the kindness given to her thus far, she didn't see a need to be worried.
Because they had power, and she didn't really.
They simply treated her with kindness, she felt blessed.
Meanwhile, Naota was with Vali who was on the outskirts of Kuoh, and overlooked the town from high in the sky. Their eyes look over it, and then towards each other.
"I am curious as to why someone would be around here, you know what I mean Vali-chan?"
Naota wondered, Vali shrugged.
"The cats indicated that there was a presence here. But it seems to have disappeared."
Naota furrows his eyebrows, placing a finger to his ear and activated a magic circle.
He was communicating with Koneko and Kuroka.
He nods silently, and turns to Vali.
"Whoever it was, seems to be gone now, according to the girls, they're doing a search via Senjutsu."
Vali exhales.
"Suspicious for someone to be out here. What would they even do in this area? Its nothing but trees."
Naota thought the same thing, folding his arms in curiousness.
"Still, Kuroka-san and Koneko-chan said it was a force enough to draw their attention. Can't be the Fallen Angels, got tabs on them."
"Shall we look into it?"
Vali suggested.
Naota nods.
"Yeah, better to be safe than sorry. You never know who might be trying to invade Kuoh. Also, did you hear that Mittelt-san and Kokabiel might be a thing?"
Naota said with a hint of a snicker at the end.
Vali's lips curled into a small smirk.
"I'm not surprised given how they interact, but how did you hear about it?"
"Well, Kuroka-san told me that Kalawarner-san overheard Mittelt-san was denying she was with Kokabiel while blushing. Kalawarner-san seems sure that there is a thing between them, and Raynare-san is not happy. Not sure how true that is, but if they're together…huh, that gives me disturbing visuals I'd rather not have."
Vali couldn't hide her own little laugh, breaking her usual stoic nature for a few moments.
"Yeah, thanks Kuroka for that mental image."
Naota shuddered.
"Yeah, that's a scary thought. Anyway, it seems that no one's around here. But with the nun Asia-san in town, and we have a Longinus that's not being wielded yet in Isane-chan, we can't take any chances, and make sure that this visitor that we may have has the best kind of greetings from us, you know Vali-chan?"
Vali liked the sound of that, crushing her hands together in delight.
"I guess this is my fight then."
Hearing the determination she held, Naota began to chortle.
"I did promise you, and the neko girls did show surprise at what they felt. They couldn't tell who it was, someone had gone to great measure to hide their specific ki signature, but for sure they sensed someone, and to go to great lengths to hide who they are, I can only assume that they're up to no good."
"Leave it with me, I'll finish them off if they dare to enter our town."
Naota didn't disagree with her.
He could see that she was fiercely determined.
So he allowed her to do what she needed to do.
"Alright then, I'll leave it with you Vali-chan, though remember if you need assistance to call for it." Vali waved her hand a single time. "We've got to make sure the nun girl is safe. And I've also got a date with Isane-chan on Sunday~"
When Naota said that, Vali gave a surprised look.
"A date with the Sekiryuutei?"
Naota nods, seeing the young girl looking on with narrowing eyebrows.
"Yeah, that's right."
Vali folds her arms.
"I see. You are thinking of revealing the supernatural to her?"
Naota shrugs his shoulders.
"I honestly couldn't say. Either way, I'll see how she feels about the supernatural, and go from there."
Vali thought that made sense.
"I hope so, I wish to be able to fight the Sekiryuutei. Is there anyone you would want to fight?"
"Besides Great Red?"
Naota wondered.
Vali nods.
"Besides Great Red yeah."
"Hmm, I suppose it would be a few of the Gods, and those in the Top Ten. Though honestly, I'd love to go against Sirzechs-san, wouldn't you?"
"He's on my list for sure. What about Nezha?"
"Ooh yeah, Nezha-san would be good too. How about Hades?"
"That guy, he annoys me. I'd like to fight him, and see what strengths he has."
Naota and Vali looked amused to one another, and did a quick search, but to no avail.
When he returned home, he saw Asia and Rias sat on the couch together, giggling away.
He felt like he had missed something, but was glad to see Asia was beginning to become at least a little close with members of the household.
He also saw Ravel sat close by, watching on curiously.
"Naota-sama, are Mittelt-san and Kokabiel dating?"
Ravel asked, Naota shrugged.
"Seems that it could be happening. Did Kuroka-san..."
"Yes, she told me, and...its scary to think about it."
Naota nods in agreement.
"Ah, Ravel-chan, it will be okay. Anyway, onto other topics-" Ravel was thankful for that. "-it seems we might have a little nuisance to deal with."
Ravel folds her arms curiously.
"Yes, Kuroka-sama and Koneko-san told me about it. I've already begun organizing the peerage and making sure that we have everything I can think of covered. I'd also like to hear your thoughts Naota-sama."
Naota pats her on top of her head, she gained a blush.
"I can always count on you, Ravel-chan. Thank you. We'll go over it after I check in with Asia-san."
Ravel giggled sweetly.
Naota then looked to Asia, seeing her giving a small smile.
"Hey Asia-san, looks like you're having a good time. Sorry I couldn't be here to greet you when you woke up, duty called."
Asia shakes her head sweetly.
"That's okay, I was greeted by Gremory-san who was dancing."
Rias gained an embarrassed face, while Naota raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
Rias shakes her hands in front of her face in her embarrassment.
"Don't worry about it, its really fine~"
Naota slowly nods, though was intrigued to know what she was dancing.
"Okay then…" Naota sweat dropped, sitting down close by with Ravel sitting beside him. "Anyway Asia-san. How do you feel this morning?"
"Yes, I'm doing well. Naota-san, Gremory-san was telling me about a few of your adventures when you were young. Such as the time when you ate out Gremory-san~"
Naota coughed, Ravel did a spit take, while Rias looked mortified.
Asia just kept up her innocent smile, not aware of what her words could actually mean, while Ravel turned to Rias, flabbergasted.
"You told her that?! I mean, I thought that was…" Ravel gushed, and looked shy. "I-I mean, we all do such things when with Naota-sama…n-no! I can't speak about lewd things right now! Its…ooh my, Rias-sama, to speak about your private life so openly…"
Rias had her bottom lip tremble.
Naota, unashamed, scratches his cheek as he speaks.
"Well, yeah, I've done that, but I'm surprised she told you that…"
Rias furiously blushed a bright crimson.
"N-No! I didn't say that! I said that the time when Naota-kun was eating out with the Gremory's, and that attack happened! It had nothing to do with eating me out…" Rias placed a hand over her mouth, looking towards Naota in her humiliated feelings and shook side to side. "…this is really embarrassing, can we move on from this please?"
Naota nods while chuckling, Ravel also snickered slightly, and turns to Asia.
"So Asia-san. Now that you're here, what is it you want to do?"
Asia looked on with a quizzing look.
"Hmmm?"
"You know, now that you're not with the church, you've got quite a new life ahead of you. Is there something you've always wanted to do, and never could?"
Asia tilts her head.
She goes deep into thinking.
Then she adopts a big smile.
"I'd like to go to a book shop!"
Ravel and Rias were stunned by such a mundane thing.
But Naota understood what she was speaking about.
"I see, anywhere else?"
"Hmmm, I'd like to maybe pick flowers? To make friends, would be nice. I haven't seen a school before. Would it be okay if I looked at your school Naota-san?"
Naota found her so sweet.
It was simple dreams.
But, he totally understood why she would have them.
In the church, she'd never really be able to do the mundane stuff.
She'd not be able to do as she had liked.
He was sure she loved helping people, he could tell.
But he also noticed a little shyness seeping through when being asked about what she wanted.
As if she hadn't really ever been asked that before.
"School huh. Yeah, well we're not there for a few days, but when we are, I'll definitely take you."
Asia began to tear it.
A simple thing was so powerful that she could become like this from answering her requests.
He was determined to do it even more.
Even if Gabriel hadn't asked him to help her, he knew he'd have helped this girl regardless.
To give her a better life, now that she was forced out of her old one.
To make sure nothing happened to her.
He would protect her, no matter what.
Finally, it was Sunday.
The day of the date.
Isane was nervous as she waited for Naota at the park.
It was closing in on ten in the morning.
She had been there since half past nine in the morning.
She didn't want to be late, and ended up being too early instead.
Though it gave her sometime to prepare herself.
Isane was wearing a beautiful white dress that came down to above the knee. With a blue rose floral pattern on the right hand side, running up to just below her breast. Wearing high heels, she didn't really care for them, but she thought that they might be good to wear in this instance.
"This is it...this is going to be such an epic date! With the hottest guy in the school! And he's here with me~ All for me~ I'm going to be his date~!"
Isane mentally cheered, her eyes darting all over the park to see where he'd be coming from.
She could see a few people pass her by.
She saw many of them going about their days.
All she could think about was when Naota would be arriving.
She looked at her phone for the time, she did so every minute or so.
As the time approached ten on the dot, she saw that at five minutes before ten, that Naota had arrived.
He was wearing a combination of blue jeans that Isane thought framed his lower half very well, a shirt with the two top buttons undone, and an open jacket over it.
All in all, Isane thought that it looked rather good to see him like that.
"Hey, Isane-chan. Glad that you could make it."
Isane became surprisingly bashful, allowing a hand to run through her hair.
"Y-Yeah, nice you could too, Naota-kun. Wow, you look really good today~"
Naota gave a bright smile.
"Thank you. You look rather beautiful Isane-chan."
Isane blushed heavily.
She playfully pushed him, and he in turn snickered.
"Don't be so weird! I mean, me being…"
"You are." He said in a rather dazzling moment to Isane as he crossed the distance and showed an excited face. "You are quite beautiful, Isane-chan."
Isane bit her lower lip, her eyelashes fluttered.
"S-Seriously…t-then lets get going, okay?"
Isane said flustered.
Naota nods, and together they walk off.
They go through the town together, going to various shops as they speak with one another.
It was so casual, and Isane loved it.
She could feel her nerves melting away as time went on.
It was good, because she felt like she could be herself around Naota.
Even though at points, she did feel a little shy about being all of herself.
Naota also made her laugh with various jokes.
She liked that they could be casual around one another.
He simply smiled, and laughed, making her do the same thing.
She could say that during the day, they had such a good time together.
After the days events, Naota and Isane found themselves at the fountain within a park. Isane felt so many things about the day, she couldn't properly explain how she felt inside, and she couldn't say anything other than she truly enjoyed it.
Naota in turn felt similar, he enjoyed himself on the date, and could see Isane being quite close with him in the future.
"So, did it go well Isane-chan?"
Naota wondered, Isane kept her cool the best that she could do.
"Y-Yeah, it was fantastic! I mean, it was really good yeah…"
Isane tried to play it cool, Naota could see that she was nervous so he did his best to ease her heart.
"You don't have to worry, be as natural as we usually are in school."
Naota said it comfortingly.
Isane felt her heart beat rapidly inside of her chest.
She looked over the young man's face, and felt a faint flush overcome her.
"Sorry, I guess that I'm just so nervous because I don't wanna mess anything up. I usually put my foot in it and say the wrong thing."
Naota inched closer to Isane, and brushed his fingertips on top of her hand.
Electricity shot through her, and her eyes became half lidded, feeling a pulsing sensation within her.
"You can't say anything wrong with me."
His voice was a low tone, yet filled with confidence.
Isane felt her body melting at his voice.
She could hardly contain her giddiness at a time like this.
"Y-Yeah, I know. Haha, I guess its alright to say anything huh…s-so tell me a bit more about yourself…"
"What do you want to know?"
Naota wondered, so Isane began once more.
"Hahaha, I honestly don't know where to start. I guess, childhood…how was it?"
Naota found it cute when she said something like that.
"Eh, I suppose the best way to describe it is hard, and fun. Yeah, that's a good way to say it."
Naota found it cute she'd ask that.
He knew she wished to ask other things, but seemed to be unsure of how to ask it.
"Hard and fun huh…so, you've had plenty of adventures?"
"Yeah, that's right. But I have a feeling you wanted to ask more than that…?"
Naota prodded, seeing how Isane was holding back a few things.
Isane didn't know if she could ask the questions she had inside of her.
"W-Well, there are rumours about your relationship with Gremory-senpai…"
"Ah, Rias-chan and I huh. Yeah, we're quite close with one another."
He said it with a smile, Isane felt a happy pulse run through her.
"And you also have quite the closeness with Himejima-senpai…!"
Seeing her giddy ways, Naota held back a laugh.
"Indeed we do."
Isane danced in place.
Naota couldn't hold back a laugh, he found her incredibly funny.
"S-So, am I right to say that you are…w-with them too?"
"You sound quite pleased about that."
Isane, in her desiring feelings, thrust her hand to the sky.
"Because it can only mean one thing! Its a harem!"
Naota blinked, seeing Isane striking a pose.
He lifted his mouth up in mirth, folding his arms curiously.
"A harem, I've heard you seem to like playing games about harems and the likes."
"W-Who told you?"
Isane asked, nervously playing with her hands.
Naota gave a soft smile.
"Kuroka-san."
Isane looked worried.
"S-She didn't tell you anything else, did she?!" Isane yelled, and then thought at the same time. "Ooh, if he knows of the harem plan…wait, that's a good thing if he knows about it." Isane let out a relieved breath. "It means that we can become close and even have the ultimate harem…!"
As Isane thought it, Naota smiled strongly.
"She simply said that you both have fun speaking about harems, and the likes. She said she's had a lot of fun with you. Also, I'd like to thank you for becoming her friend. Kuroka-san is a very unique and fun girl, and I'm glad she's able to make friends while being here."
Isane scratched her cheek, seeing his earnestness on full display.
"N-No, its not a problem… I'm glad that she's my friend."
Isane admitted.
Naota bequeathed a grin.
"Yeah, me too~"
Naota and Isane smiled at one another.
Isane kept thinking about a harem, but wasn't sure how to approach such a subject.
As they talked, Naota noticed something had shifted, so he moved a few paces away from Isane to see if he could get a better sense of what was going on.
A change in the atmosphere, he didn't like it one bit, so his eyes moved to Isane, seeing the look of calmness on her face, not aware of anything that was happening, but Naota was, and he moved as fast as light, appearing before her, as he felt something coming for her.
"N-Naota-kun!"
Isane yelled, as Naota stuck out his hand.
A moment later, a very beautiful looking spear appeared in his hand.
To Isane, it was dazzling, radiating a pure white aura from it.
She could feel herself being overwhelmed by its presence, she didn't know why but she felt as if the spear could wrap around her, and comfort her, exactly the same feelings she got when she looked at Naota.
"An attack huh."
Naota threw his hand upwards, allowing the spear to cleave into what Isane saw as a giant ball of strange energy that had shot for them in the sky.
The spear cut through it cleanly, splitting it right down the middle, and the two spheres exploded.
Yet, nothing even reached them.
Isane didn't know what was going on, as she saw something in the sky.
She couldn't describe what it was, as it appeared to be some kind of monster in her eyes.
Yet the moment she clasped eyes on it, it immediately vanished out of sight, out of mind.
"W-What was that?!"
Isane yelled, as Naota snapped his fingers.
When he did so, the space changed around them, and a barrier of sorts was erected. The barrier was able to keep contained people and it shunned those that weren't of the supernatural, and caused them to see nothing going on inside so they didn't get dragged into anything that was happening.
As he did, several balls of fire erupted from the sky, raining down upon the pair like hail.
Isane cupped her hands above her head, although knowing that wouldn't accomplish anything, it felt like a natural reaction.
Isane then saw Naota casually raise his spear to the sky, and spin it around rapidly.
The flames that came for them were dispelled instantly.
They couldn't even come close to reaching them.
Isane didn't even feel the heat of the flames despite them coming so close before Naota got rid of them.
"Looks like someone isn't fooling around. To get this close, very interesting indeed~"
Naota grinned.
He was excited to have a battle.
Though he couldn't sense any other presences, and had decided to contact the others to do a wide search.
However, he wasn't sure if they'd turn up results, he was suspicious as to what was going on here.
Isane, still confused, looked at Naota with curiousness.
"Erm…Naota-kun, I don't know what's happening, but this is…"
Naota gave a comforting look.
"Its alright, I'll explain soon. Just promise to stay behind me, okay?"
Isane nods, not truly sure what was going on.
But she saw Naota looked confident and calming.
That was enough for her to trust in him.
So she got close to his back, not wanting to be incinerated by anything.
He then looked up to see what seemed to be similar beings to chimeras, yet he could feel that their auras had been increased to stronger levels than the usual ones. He counted three of them being in the barrier, and he was glad that he managed to capture them so quickly.
"Three chimeras, looks like this is going to be fun, for a few moments."
Naota slammed his spear downwards, and from that action, light radiated from the spear. Isane noticed the ground had cracked in various places, the spear didn't seem heavy to her, yet it managed to break the ground so easily.
The light from the spear radiated all around the barrier, and went for the three chimeras.
The chimeras all began to turn their flames upon Naota and shot off immeasurable amounts of flames for the pair.
"Geez! T-They're wild Naota-kun!"
"Yeah, but its alright, you're safe with me."
Isane believed him.
She knew he'd not let her get hurt.
The light that swayed through the air clashed with the flames, and like an eraser, it caused the flames to vanish upon touching the light.
Isane couldn't help but marvel at the sight.
It was clear that the spear was strong now in Isane's eyes.
It erased all of the flames without Naota breaking a sweat.
"Hmm, not as strong as I thought. Perhaps these aren't meant to fight me, at least not in the normal sense. Someone clearly wants my attention. Alright, I'm listening."
Naota mused in his mind, intensifying the light of the spear.
By doing that, the light wrapped all the way around the barrier, and overlapped with the chimeras.
Isane saw the chimeras being destroyed out of existence. They tried to fight the light, but as it touched the light more and more, each chimera disintegrated and soon the entire body of the chimera vanished, not even leaving behind a spec of dust.
Isane was taken aback by what she had just witnessed.
She thought it was awesome.
She thought it was insane.
She tried to wrap her head around it.
Yet most of all, she thought Naota was so cool.
Naota let out a breath, and dismissed the spear for the time being.
"Aha well, that's the end of them."
He turned to Isane.
He went to speak, when she suddenly rushed him, and bounced up and down.
"You're a superhero! Defender of justice and all of the other good stuff~!"
Naota nearly spluttered.
"Super…hero huh?"
He was amused.
He thought it was an interesting way to speak about him.
"Yeah, totally! You're a superhero! I saw what you did then! You used that spear thingy and then shined a light on those creepy things! I always thought there was something special about you, and not just how damn sexy you are!"
Naota blinked, and then chuckled.
"Thanks."
Isane snickered, leaning closer with intrigue.
"So, what's your superhero name?! Is it Sexy?!"
"Erm, no."
Naota sweat dropped.
Isane took it in stride, and skipped in place.
"Can't believe I've met a superhero! I went out with a superhero! Hahahaha, now I know about superheroes!"
Naota let out his laugh.
He thought she was taking this way better than he imagined.
Though, he knew she didn't realize the full truth yet, and wondered how she'd handle that.
"You are quite adorable, Isane-chan."
Isane flushed a bright crimson.
"So, you are really a superhero?"
Isane asked excitedly.
Naota knew there was no way to hide it.
Seeing her excited nature, he wondered if she'd be happy to learn more about the supernatural.
So he began to snicker.
"Not quite a superhero."
Isane paused in her excitement, folding her arms.
"If not a superhero, then what are you?"
Naota tilted his head, seeing Isane looking so confused which was to be expected.
"That…is going to take sometime to explain. Do you really want to know?"
Isane thought about it…
No, she didn't even have to think about it.
"Yeah, I, I want to know."
Naota could see in her eyes that she genuinely was eager to learn more.
Because of this, Naota kept wondering if she found out, if she would want to find out about her powers, and if she'd use them.
He knew Vali wished for it, Naota on the other hand wished for her to be happy in whatever it was that she was doing, whether that was to go to the supernatural, or to lead a normal life.
Whatever it was, Naota would make sure she had that choice for herself.
"Then Isane-chan, why don't you follow me? We've got much to discuss."
Isane was now even more excited.
She didn't know exactly what she was getting into.
But, she couldn't deny that it was a very exciting time for her.

So this chapter had Naota and Asia beginning to come together, as they spoke about Strada and a few other topics. The Fallen Angels are trying to keep themselves alert, in their own way. A new invader came to Kuoh, and sent some beasts after Naota, though he dispatched them pretty quickly, Isane however learned about the supernatural world, and now is beginning to learn more about it.
