Naruto 6

Naruto was running through the crowded streets of Konoha and doing his best to avoid the scary masked people that were after him. He didn't know why Jiji was being so weird or why he had the masked people chasing him but he didn't like it one bit! He needed to find Ji-san so he could prove that he shouldn't be given back to the orphanage! He needed to make sure everything he had said previously wasn't a lie.

The streets were relatively dead as civilians head from the fierce battle taking place between two white haired men. The sound of the battle had attracted the blonde kid that darted towards it. Naruto thought to himself 'with everyone else going away from here it should be easy to find somewhere to hide until I can find ji-san.' He clung to the shadows and snuck as stealthily as possible; completely unaware of the multiple fights taking place behind him and how dangerous the one he crept towards was.

Hatake Kakashi was many things and after killing his fellow ANBU that had thrown a kunai at Naruto he could now add traitor to the list. If he had to burn this village to the ground to protect his sensei's son he would. He looked over at his own apprentice, Itachi Uchiha, and waited for whatever would happen. While he was readying himself to square off against his student another ANBU stopped next to weasel and gestured for them to stop. Very quick hand signs, ones he would have missed without the sharingan, showed that this new ANBU was arguing with Itachi to help protect the kid and not to bring him in.

"Ji-san!" The cry distracted the toad sage and Tobirama. They both looked over to where it came from to see a small blonde child running towards them and ANBU squaring off in the streets. One particular ANBU was practically painted red as he blocked several weapons thrown at the kid and danced through battles with other ANBU effortlessly.

Truthfully Hatake Kakashi was exhausted and he was doing everything possible to protect Naruto from these ninja that were bringing an "any means necessary " approach to returning Naruto. Kunai after kunai, as well as jutsu, were being thrown at him and Naruto. One pierced his shoulder and just barely knocked him off balance as others soared past him at Naruto. His eyes widened and he moved to dart forward when he noticed he couldn't move. Glancing down he saw his shadow, and the other ANBU's shadows, were caught up and tied to Nara Shikaku. The head of the Nara clan was glaring at them all with Dragon, head of the ANBU, at his side in a similar stance and what they could only guess was a glare behind his mask.

Kakashi could only spare them a glance though as his eyes returned back to the horror of several kunai racing towards Naruto's unprotected back.

Jiraiya was looking over his godson when he saw the projectiles heading straight for him, possibly too close. Rage bubbled in his veins. He whipped through hand signs before slamming his hands into the ground. Mud tore apart the ground and raced over to Naruto, erecting a barrier behind him but the sound of metal cutting into flesh prevailed.

Jiraiya rushed over readying himself for what sight may meet his eyes . Horrible visions of his possibly mutilated godson fluttering faster and faster as he ran as fast as he could over to Naruto. He slid to a stop in the mud when he saw the man he had just been fighting crouched with his body protecting Naruto. A long kunai barely puncturing his back. He leaned forward and removed it while still protecting Naruto.

Jiraiya reached out his hand and ruffled Naruto's hair "thank Kami you're alright kid. Gave me quite the scare." Naruto looked up at him confused. As he did he caught sight of the man behind him. He whipped around and lounged, wrapping his arms around him.

"Ji-san! Please don't leave me Ji-san! I romaine I'll behave but I can't go back to the Orphanage! They'll kick me out again and Jiji won't do anything! He was being weird in his office and he made these masked people chase me! He's gonna take me away somewhere and I don't wanna go! I wanna stay with you!" Naruto was practically hyperventilating as his hands fisted into Tobirama's shirt and his face buried into his chest.

"Hey, shhh shh. I promise no one is taking you away and I didn't leave you there to go back to the orphanage. You're my kin and you are going to be living with me now. Yes, Hiruzen is acting strange and I'm going to get to the bottom of it but you don't have to worry about that little one. You're safe, I'm here; calm down." He gently moved to not startle the boy as he scooped him up and began rubbing circles into his back. "Jiraiya, am I correct in thinking that Naruto is why you are in Konoha?" The toad sage nodded as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"I got word from my spy network that Naruto was being attacked by Konoha civilians and shinobi. They further told me that despite being told Naruto was at the orphanage and safe that he had actually been kicked out. I left my deep-cover mission and came back as fast I could. Now, who are you?" Tobirama sighed before explaining what happened and how he was back to the land of the living while he focused on comforting Naruto.

"This is great and all, but would someone like to explain why we have ANBU fighting in the street on top of two Kage level shinobi fighting in Konoha?" Shikaku asked as he landed next to them. Both men glanced at the other before looking over at all the destruction and ANBU.
