Four hundred years ago the humans immigrated to an isolated part of the country. This land, (think the size and shape of South America) which is surrounded by sea, is cut off from the rest of the continent by a large mountain range. The Ranges are so high there is no possible way to pass over them. Obviously, the humans never traversed the Ranges but came to that land by sea and spread out from there.

Most of the towns and villages are closer to the coast for fear of the Mystical Beings. But, there are a few brave souls who live closer to the Ranges and have successfully survived. They eke out a living farming and selling what they can with the more southern villages. One soul is the bravest of them all. They live in a small house next to a river that winds down from a large beautiful clear lake. Standing over this lake is a tall cliff with a waterfall cascading down from the Ranges.

"Finally!" says Lucy as she walks out into the open from the forest to a small clearing near the lake. She walks over to a worn log and sits to rest her feet. Reaching into her satchel she takes out a water skin for a quick drink. Then taking a deep breath she looks around the lake admiring the view and to locate the plants she needs to take back with her. Just seeing tall grass Lucy says "Maybe I should get up higher..." Spying her favorite large cluster of rocks near shore in the lake, Lucy leaves her satchel and shoes near the log and walks over to climb to the largest rock.

Reaching the top, Lucy puts her face to the sky and smiles. "Such a nice day!" After taking a moment to soak in the sun she looks around the edges of the lake for the Chrysanthemum Leucathemum and Convallaria Magalis that she knows grows around the lake.

While looking she hears a faint sound...that starts getting louder...

"aaaaaaahhhhhhAAAAAHHHHHHAPPY WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DROP ME!!!!!!! SPLASH

"EEEEKKK" Startled, Lucy loses her balance and falls into the lake.

Natsu comes up for air, "WHATS THE BIG DEAL HAPPY?! WHY'D YOU DROP ME?!" Natsu shakes his fist up at Happy, who is slowly floating down towards the water. "Sorry Natsu I was getting dizzy and all of a sudden you got too heavy, I couldn't hold you anymore."

Happy's face looks tired and drawn, his wings disappear with a pop, he splashes down into the water and starts to sink. "Happy!" Natsu swims the short distance to catch him before he sinks. "You ok little buddy?" Natsu swims toward the shore and sets Happy on the ground.He checks Happy all over and sees that he's ok, just tired and a little out of breath. "Must have been the altitude" says Natsu, he then hears splashing behind him and sees a blonde woman covered in lake grass and mud crawl out of the lake coughing. "cough...cough...cough..." Lucy stops crawling on the bank and looks angrily up at the strange pink haired man.

"Where did you come from?!No one just falls out of the sky!"

Natsu plunks himself next to Happy to face her and with a sheepish look, rubs his hand on the back of his head and chuckles "hehheheh, Happy and me were just checking out the lake?"

With a surprised look on her face Lucy says, "Checking out the lake?!...Wait a minute...you're from over the Ranges aren't you?"

With a guilty look Natsu says "Maybe?"

"No! I know you are from over there! I have never seen a blue flying cat!" Lucy points at Happy whose eyes were starting to open.

"Hey! I am not a cat I'm an Exceed! There's a difference!"

"Happy you're ok!"

"Aye sir! Whose the swamp monster?"

"I am not a swamp monster! I was just minding my own business looking for my plants and he falls out of the sky! You would be startled too if someone fell out of the sky!" Lucy gets up from the ground and removes the lake grass from her hair and brushes the mud off her dress. "UGH! I just washed theses!" Walking over to a spot on the lakeside that did not have as much mud, she crouched down and washed the mud off her face and arms.

"I'm going to go over to the other side of the lake!" She puts on her shoes and swings her satchel over her shoulder. Lucy starts walking on an ingrown path along the lake. "Hey! Wait up!" Natsu says as he gets up to start following Lucy. Happy flies up to land on Natsu's head "Yeah! What are you looking for?"

"Not that it matters to you but I am out here looking for some very specific plants!"

"Awesome! We have our adventure Happy! Let's go help...what's your name?"

Lucy stops walking and sighs to herself "My name is Lucy and why would you want to help me anyways?"

"My name is Natsu, this is Happy and you look like a nice person...sorry for scaring you."

Lucy turns and with narrowed eyes gives Natsu a good long look. Natsu gives Lucy a big smile. "I guess you don't look too threatening..."

Natsu continues to smile and gives a thumbs up "Nah, you got nothing to worry about with me!"

"Aye sir!"

"So what are we looking for anyways?"

"I'm looking for two plants to plant in my garden."
