I do not own Fate of RWBY
-xXx-
Voyager knows that it sounds crazy, but it is honestly seen as nice to see another person who is over his head striving for perfection.
BAM!
"Senpai!"
That is the fifth time Shirou fell on the ground by Saber's wooden blade. Voyager was merely observing the situation as Sakura fretted over the bruised boy while Saber sighed.
"I think you are being too hard, Saber," Sakura said with much venom as she used healing magecraft on the boy.
Saber frowned a bit, as guilt crept into her eyes before they were gone in a blink.
"The boy is in a war with legendary heroes, Master. If anything, he will need more than a tiger mom's tough love to even survive the war."
Sakura glared at her Servant as some shadow formed in her eyes, "But he is not capable–"
"Trust me, Master." Voyager said gently yet firmly, as his Charisma Skill as a Fairytale character took effect, "He is more than capable, besides…" Voyager looked at Saber before back to Shirou, "Us heroes are proof that anyone can go beyond."
Sakura didn't retort but still looked unconvinced, so Voyager sighed, "Listen… at least Shirou is trying to fight the war in his way considering he is a self-proclaimed 3-bit magus; the best way for you to support him is to support his war efforts."
Sakura's face pinched for being placed in the spot, before asking, "How?"
"Talk to the other Master." Voyager offered as he felt anger spike in Sakura's being, but he pushed, "Whether you like it or not, coordination among three Masters and Servants is key to winning this war. Why not ask her why Archer attacked your senpai while you are at it."
Sakura didn't say anything, but with a heavy heart, she stood up and stomped out of the dojo, looking for Rin for some answers.
Voyager felt the anger in his Master's heart, and it is not the pissed kind, but something closer to resentment which grew more potent through their link.
"I never saw Sakura that upset before." Shirou looked shocked, before he saw Voyager's complicated face, "What?"
Voyager looked at the young boy; a naive but determined boy… maybe too determined and hyper-excited when Servants fight. But he understands that he was once there… and he was also in Archer's shoes.
Voyager couldn't stop a chuckle at how things stalemated in his life for so long, then changed dramatically within a week: From an angry and resentful man for years, to a relieved and free man from his emotional shackles, to a literal heroic spirit and witnessing others go through the process.
The male blonde plans to help this boy, not just for his master, but for the boy's sake…
… and for the man he became.
"Saber, why don't you have some personal talk with Shirou?"
"Huh?"
"Well, I honestly think Shirou wants to be a hero." Voyager smiled sincerely, "And who is the best person to talk to then a hero herself."
Saber looked down in hesitation, "I am not perfect, Voyager."
"So am I," Voyager nodded as he looked back at his mistakes before and after his hero status, "But I believe perfection is not a requirement to inspire people and to guide them."
"But perfection is important!"
"To strive for, but I doubt anyone needs a hero if everything is perfect."
Saber just continued to pinch her face in both discomfort and a touch of resentment… but one look in Shirou's naive eyes brought her back to the time before she held the Holy Blade.
"Very well…" Saber relented as Shirou looked excited again, "How about you? Is this some scheme to find out my identity?"
"Nah." Voyager shook his head, "There is a devil I have to talk to."
-xXx-
"I have to ask, but if Shirou is your target, why didn't you just shoot him when Saber and I were busy with Berserker?"
Archer didn't answer as Voyager appeared in myriad colored mist.
"Thinking, I assume."
"..."
Voyager sighed as he waited for Archer to respond. The tanned and older Shirou Emiya remained unmoving even when a potential enemy was beside him.
Both Servants stood beside one another with no negative tension, just the feeling of the cold air.
"The Grail told me much about the Ever After." Archer suddenly says, "And how your other Noble Phantasm works; is it true? The mind forgets but the heart remembers?"
"It is a common belief in the Ever After." Voyager said, "I have witnessed it also."
"...I have no memory of when I was younger, except that vivid memory of my father and Saber." Archer said, "But being here again, with those people I once remembered so much, brought back emotions and feelings I have forgotten."
Voyager just listened on, and Archer knows it, "Being this close to Rin and Sakura resurfaced some emotions; for a man who only felt regret for past actions, these nostalgic emotions bring back… good memories, no matter how blurred or fragile, I feel like that I owe them… even Saber."
"And what will you do now?"
"I still feel extreme anger towards Shirou Emiya, but after having clarity after centuries for the first time… I now understand what I must do."
Voyager held his mental trigger to summon his weapons and armor; ready for any volatile moves from the bowman…
With Shirou with Saber and his Master with Rin, he can buy more time and slow down Archer.
"I hate how my actions led me here… I still think my ideals are foolish." Archer sighed, "But it won't change things… killing that boy won't free me."
"So you changed your mind…"
"Only not to kill Shirou for me" Archer scoffed, "But I will fight for my master. If Rin says he has to die… he dies."
"Too bad…" Voyager shrugged, "Now I can only count on my Master."
-xXx-
"Sakura…"
"Onee-sama," Sakura said tensely as she looked at the young woman, mixed emotions swirled in her as she looked into Rin's eyes.
She held back a scowl or any negative feelings from getting out of her perfect mask. Even without the parasite in her heart, her center is still invaded by darkness and disgust.
"Why?"
Why didn't you come for me?
Why didn't you stop them?
Why did your servant hurt my senpai?
"Why did you heal Shirou-senpai?" Sakura finally said.
Rin looked uncomfortable for a moment, before answering honestly, "Because Saber threa–"
"I know why you healed him the second time, but I meant the first one; the one which saved his life," Sakura spoke louder, as empty eyes shone unto Rin's; a bit of darkness, whether it was from a disgusting magecraft or her trauma. The empty eye looked at the girl with much-hidden resentment.
But Rin looked at her with teary eyes, "Because I know it will hurt you."
Sakura's eyes lit in confusion.
"Emiya-kun was someone you genuinely cared about; someone who took you in where no one else did." Rin looked at the side, "I know that leaving him to die because of the rules of our side, will just be another lash to you."
Sakura looked at her suspiciously with empty eyes, "Why did your Servant hurt him?"
"I DON'T KNOW!" Rin yelled in frustration, "He…he is a cynical bastard! He won't give me a hint!"
"Yet you trust him."
"I do." Rin for the first time in the conversation looked firm, "I do not know if it is his tricks, or his emotional signals through our link, but I know he got my back."
Sakura looked unsure. Despite what she learned from both magus families, Rin Tohsaka felt more human than those monsters; could it be that she is still too young, or that she is playing tricks with her?
Then Sakura felt relief through the link with Voyager. Rin herself felt overwhelming peace through her link with Archer.
"Archer said that your Servant is dangerous, in the emotional sense." Rin said with a quiet yet serene smile, "Is he a good person?"
Sakura herself for the first time in the conversation gained light back in her eyes, "Yes." She remembered the book she read and the memories…"He deserves the status of Hero. He is a hero."
Rin looked amused at seeing her sister look like a child, "Is he really that amazing?"
"Definitely. Even with his rusted armor, he is better than any Knight of the Round Table."
Both sisters had a moment of silence. Both know there is still much to talk about, so clear up negative emotions, and make positive ones for each other.
"So, an alliance?"
"You have one."
-xXx-
Voyager and Sakura fried some fish for dinner, with some miso soup and a good amount of rice on the side.
"I think you should've made hambagoos" Archer said as he leaned by the wall, looking at the pair cooking food.
"Why not help us next time, Archer?" Voyager offered as Archer scoffed.
Soon, Shirou and Saber arrived, with pleasant smiles on their faces.
"You look happy." Rin casually told Saber.
"We had a productive day." Saber said as she elegantly sat down, "So I take it that we are all officially allies?"
"Correct." Sakura said as she with her servant set down the food, "This meal is a celebratory meal for our alliance."
"Good job Sakura." Shirou praised as he looked at the fish, while said maiden merely blushed.
"How about a hot pot?" Archer again suggested as he sat down by the table too as everyone took their chopsticks.
"We can do that tomorrow, but how about you make breakfast?" Voyager suggested.
"Maybe."
Soon the Masters and Servatns ate peacefully…
…until
BANG!
The door was pushed open as a woman wearing a fitting black dress and pleasant make-up charged in, "ARC! WE ARE GOING TO A DATE!"
"Taiga!"
Taiga then grabbed Voyager's arm and pulled him away, "YOU PROMISED ME THIS DATE!"
"I DID NOT!"
"YOU SAID YOU WILL GIVE ME ONE FINE NIGHT IF I–"
"I WAS FLIRTING! FLIRTING!"
"TOO LATE! AND YOU CAN'T USE YOUR CONDOM EXCUSE! ITS A SAFE DAY~"
Saber's blush was so red that she looked like a tomato, as Rin asked, "Should we help him?"
"Don't bother," Shirou said as Archer sighed.
"Well, he doesn't feel exactly distressed." Sakura offered as she felt the link, "If anything I think he is embarrassed.
"Yo, Voyager I will make that hotpot for breakfast; you are going to need it!" Archer yelled at a dragged Voyager.
"Juniper, help me!"
Said Jackalope merely scoffed as she poked her head to the window asking for food.
Author's notes
It took a while, but life was busy.
Someone pointed out about my use of the word "mana" instead of "prana." Sorry, will fix that as soon as possible…
