"So you want a job with us?" Naomi said with a serious tone, her brown eyes squinting at the interviewee.
"Uhhh...yes, ma'am." Ochaco nodded, a bit taken aback by the dark room and the hanging light bulb above her and Naomi. The woman closed her eyes and hummed roughly before she put on a detective's hat, taking out a magnifying glass from her pocket.
"What is the reason for you wanting to join our...fine establishment, Ochaco Uraraka? Do you have a motive?" The brown-haired woman said as her eyes focused on the gravity girl.
"Oh! I just want to be independent and plus, from what I've seen of this place. the job seems fun and I want to learn a lot about culinary arts and the art of serving as well." Ochaco said, this time with a lot of enthusiasm.
"Oh, I see." Naomi analyzed Ochaco's behavior and body language before she nodded to herself. "So do you have a boyfrien-"
"Mom! Stop messing with the girl and give her the damn job! She passed the interview minutes ago!" Kokoa shouted at the woman as she dragged the two of them out of the room and onto one of the seats in the cafe. Kokoa then grabbed her mother by the ear and dragged her to the kitchen. "Gosh! Stop playing mind games with the girl. Who cares if she has a boyfriend or not? Plus, Izmi does not need a girl right now, he needs character development."
"You're hired. You can come in next week." Aoi said in a monotone voice before giving the brunette a thumbs up. "You pass. Mrs. Naomi is just playing with you. She did the same thing with me."
"Oh, thank you. Uhh...can I start tomorrow?" Ochaco said, surprising the three women as Naomi went in front of her with a concerned expression. "You sure? You can prepare yourself and start next week."
"I'm good. Plus, I'm kinda excited to get working." Ochaco said with her eyes sparkling with excitement. The women looked at each other before Naomi rubbed her hands on her apron. "Ok. But if you're having any issues, don't hesitate to tell me. Izuku and Aoi will help you tomorrow with your work."
"Yes, ma'am." The brunette nodded with a smile. Leaving the place, Ochaco had a smile on her face as she enjoyed a bag of pastries given to her, courtesy of Naomi. "Mm. This tastes so good."
After an hour of walking, Ochaco took out a flip phone and called someone, unable to hold the huge smile on her face. Able to get the recipient, the girl nearly screamed as she cleared her throat. "Hello? Dad?"
"Oh, sweetie. What's up?" A voice said at the other end of the call. "How's college life? I hope that my little Kirby is doing alright."
Ochaco blushed embarrassingly at the nickname that her father gave her before she spoke. "Yeah, I'm doing alright...I just wanted to tell you that I finally got a job!"
"That's great! Welcome to adulthood." Her father said as he laughed on the other side of the call. "Just don't overwhelm yourself. Balancing school and work is not easy but knowing you, you'll get used to it quickly."
"Yeah! So you don't need to help me as mu-"
"Ochaco." Her father cut her off, his tone now serious. "I know that you want to be independent and you mean good for us but we are your parents. We know how stressful college can be. We've been there before. Plus, you are our daughter and we want to help you every step of the way."
Ochaco's lips pursued, her hands clenching into fists as she looked at the floor. "We know how tough our daughter is. Show it in your course and show everyone what you've got."
"Ok, Dad." The brunette said with a small smile on her face as her hands started trembling.
"Ochaco. Follow your dreams. We will be behind you. Don't worry about us. We will work through our little hiccup. Alright?" The man said in a reassuring tone.
"Yeah, Dad."
"Good. I'm happy to hear about your job. Your mother is not available but I'll let her know of the good news. Make sure you tell Hoshi about it. He's been asking for you." The man said, getting a nod from the girl. "Got it, Dad."
"Alright, get some sleep. Goodbye, Ochaco." The call then ended as they both said their goodbyes, Ochaco putting her phone into her pocket before she looked to the starry sky.
'I'll make you both proud. I swear I'll help you as much as I can.'
Within the infirmary room, Recovery Girl was looking at the medical papers of the students of the college. Her eyes squinted seriously when she picked up Izuku's medical papers. "Hmmm?"
The door then opened, revealing Sekijiro who entered the room with several papers in his hand. "Hello, Recovery Girl. Here are the weekly medical reports for my class. No issues shown except Tetsutetsu needing some painkillers and some bandages for his bout against Shishida."
"How is Izuku Midoriya?" Was the first question that she asked while checking the papers. This surprised the Blood Hero as he sat down at an empty seat while the woman looked into her cabinets. "Oh! He's alright. He finally took a rest and I'm paying keen attention to his development. He has been having frequent meetings with Snipe to train with his new technique."
"That's good. I'm seeing that his body is operating normally." The woman said while searching through the cabinets. "His quirk, although it has strengthened, still has a huge drawback as it weakens his body functions. He needs to be careful. Much more than the other students."
"You seem very invested in the young man. Does he remind you of a grandchild of yours?" Sekijiro said with a small teasing smirk.
"Not at all! I want to make sure to take out every form of recklessness as possible in that brat. I won't be here forever and it's like the kid has a relationship with a hospital bed or something." The woman said as she took out some painkiller tablets. "He reminds me of another dumb idiot that is very reckless."
"Oh?" The teacher raised a brow before Recovery Girl gave him the medicine he needed. "Thank you. I'll make sure to keep in check. Don't worry about your grandson."
"Stop it, Kan boy! It's not that I don't want him to pursue his dreams but I want for him to take care of his health. This year is my last year of being the school nurse for this place." The woman said as she sorted out her documents and put them in her drawer. "I don't think the next nurse that is going to take my place will be as patient as I am."
"Hmm. Alright. I'll see to it that he takes care of his body more."
"He better." Recovery Girl said as she sat down, the teacher leaving her in her room to her lonesome. "His body is getting used to his quirk but still...can't be too reckless."
It was another day at college in the class 1A, the students of the class, who are dressed in their P.E. clothing along with goggles, are panting heavily as they were all covered in wounds. The only ones that were ok are Katsuki, Shoto, Inasa and Momo but even they had some dirt and injuries on them. Hitoshi got up from the floor and stepped in front of his teacher, Shouta Aizawa, with a determined expression on his face.
"Do you wish to continue, Shinso?" Shouta asked, Hitoshi nodded which made the man smirk. The teacher snapped his fingers, moving out of the way to show a tennis ball launcher machine that was loaded with small rubber pellets as he made a gesture.
"Alright, start." Shouta announced as the machine started shooting the rubber pellets.
Hitoshi acted quickly as he threw his scarf towards a pole, pulling himself towards it to dodge the balls. As the machine followed him, he unlatched the scarf from the pole and threw it again at the ceiling, using it to swing across the gym.
"Alright, let's try this." Hitoshi thought aloud as he threw the other end of his binding cloth to grab a metal plate that he put in front, using it as a shield to block some of the rubber pellets before he picked up the item. Seeing Hitoshi's movements, Shouta nodded proudly as the purple-haired teen landed on the ground and slammed the plate in front of him. "The kid's going places. He's surprisingly a natural at this...when he puts his mind to it."
Noting the plate being bent by the pellets, Hitoshi leaped into the air and continued dodging them until a stray pellet hit him in the side, causing him to fall to the ground and clutching his side in pain.
"Good job, Shinso. You lasted a little over a minute. 78 seconds." Shouta said before he turned to the rest of his class. "Who else is next?"
Denki got up, determined to prove himself as he stood in front of the tennis launcher machine. As his turn started, he did not last long, shooting a blast of electricity but it only stopped the first wave of bullets. The blonde was not quick enough to stop the second wave, resulting in him getting pelted.
"I admire your determination, Kaminari. However, you need to incorporate your skills along with your quirk." Shouta said to Denki, calling the medical robots to tend to his students as he turned to the rest of them. "That goes for the rest of you."
"Ouch." Ochaco hissed in pain as one of the medical robots massaged her arms and tended her wounds.
"Whoever thought bullet dodging should be a class thing should be checked mentally…" Toru said as she rubbed her aching shoulder. "What's the reason for this?"
"It's simple, actually." Momo cleared her throat as she explained with a calm voice. "We should be prepared for any scenarios if we are going to be heroes. So this exercise is to improve our reaction time, right?"
"Correct." Shouta said with his hand in his pockets before he continued explaining. "There are going to be times when just fighting does not resolve a situation. There are villains that will not hesitate to using hostages as sacrifices. In times like this, you have to play defense."
"Why the hell should we play defense? We can just destroy them." Katsuki said with a sneer.
"You should be careful with the damage you cause and what the villains have under their sleeves. Remember, our job is to save people and stop crime." Shouta turned to Katsuki, Eijirou and Shoto with a glare as his hair started floating. "Not to just beat villains. This is why you should learn to control and use your quirks in other ways...and to use them in restrain."
"Oh please." Katsuki sneered as he crossed his arms. "The villains won't be able to put a scratch on me!"
"Okay. That's a good mindset. However, you can't always go guns blazing in every situation. You know that, Bakugo. When you're being a hero..." Shouta said as he snapped his fingers, the tennis launcher turning to him. Picking up a dummy as the tennis launcher started shooting, the man dodged expertly while keeping the dummy safe. This continued until the launcher was out of ammo, much to the students' surprise which also includes Katsuki. "...you need to think of the safety of the people around you instead of trying to win the battle. You're not in a fighting game."
The students sat down and rest, some of them drinking their beverages as the man explained.
"I'm not saying that we can help it all the time but if we're able to make a difference and minimize the damage, we should be observant of our surroundings. There is a reason back in the era we were called Vigilantes. We were no different from the villains not because of our actions and goals but the consequences of them. That's even why the reporters back then called us menaces."
As Shouta finished his statement, he turned around and walked back to the field before he looked at his watch. "Well, that's it. Class dismissed. All of you think about what to do from here to improve yourselves."
After the class was dismissed, everyone went to leave, Ochaco going into the changing rooms with a melancholic expression as she thought about her teacher's words. 'Incorporate my skills with my quirk…but how? Maybe I should ask Deku but-'
"Ochaco!" A voice cut her out of her thoughts, the girl turning to her friend Tsuyu who looked worried. "You look out of it. Are you ok?"
"Y-yeah. I might need to ask Midoriya some questions." Ochaco answered as they started changing into their normal clothes.
"Well, you're lucked out." Kyoka said which surprised Ochaco. "Zuku's gonna be busy for a while. Something about him needing to talk with Snipe or something. You can meet him at work. Did you forget the two of you are working at the same place?"
"Oh yeah. We're in August now." Tsuyu looked at her phone.
"I can't believe it's been almost half a year since we've been in this course." Ochaco mumbled as she looked at herself in the mirror, a bit disappointed in her lack of achievement showing on her body. "Don't feel like I've changed much."
"Hmm." Tsuyu hummed as she looked at her friend's disappointed expression. As they got out of the changing room, Ochaco was thinking of a way to get stronger until Momo suggested an idea. "Why not train at a dojo, Ms. Uraraka?"
"Hmm. That's not a bad idea." Ochaco thought about it while Momo picked up another bag that had a kendo sword poking out of it. "There's a local dojo near here. I'm doing some training there right now to sharpen up some more on my kendo skills. I can take you guys there when I'm done with class president work if you want to go."
Going back to her class, Ochaco and Tsuyu came in to see their teacher, Shouta along with Katsuki, the latter glaring at the girls which Kyoka returned. Ochaco, on the other hand, was caught off guard by his glare before she went for her things, Tsuyu not caring about the blonde's behavior as she spoke her mind. "You really need to work on your face, Bakugo. You look like you're having constipation."
This made the blonde angry as he got up from his chair but he was grabbed by Shouta who forcefully put him back in his seat.
"Bakugo, you see what I'm talking about. Your quick action to violence and that temper of yours. Work on it and wait on your guidance counsellor." Shouta said with a sigh, scratching his head before he turned to Tsuyu. "And Asui, please don't antagonize Bakugo. At least do it from a safe spot and when I'm not around."
"Yes, sir." Tsuyu answered before they both left the classroom. As the two made their way to the entrance of the school, Ochaco tell her friends that she will not be able to hang with them before she leaned on the gate, the girls surprised to see Toru there.
"So you're going to the dojo with Momo as well?" Toru asked, the brunette nodding with a smile. "Yeah! I'll see what the dojo's about. You?"
"Yeah! I need to improve my skill tree. I do not want to deal with Bakugo, Todoroki and Kaminari without having something to go against them...or have a fighting chance." Toru scratched her head and let out a nervous chuckle as she started becoming invisible. "Plus, I'm kinda behind in the Heroic exercises...especially the sparring training."
"Oh! The same as Ochaco." Tsuyu stated which made the invisible girl surprised.
"What about the money? Didn't you say that you were a little short and you need a job?" Toru asked with a confused look, Tsuyu chiming it. "Didn't you say you were going to that cafe for an interview?"
"I did go to the interview. I got the job immediately." Ochaco rubbed her cheek meekly which made the invisible girl surprised. "Wha? How?"
Ochaco shrugged as she remembered the strange interview that she had. 'It's better if I don't tell them.'
"Well, I have to go. I need to cook some grub for my siblings. See you guys tomorrow." Tsuyu said as she waved and left the two girls, Toru happily telling her goodbye. "See ya, Tsu!"
After a while of waiting and conversing, Toru and Ochaco saw Momo running towards them, her hands on her knees as she started panting. "Sorry to keep you guys waiting. Council work was much more than expected."
"It's no problem." Ochaco smiled with a salute.
"Yeah!" Toru said as Momo led the girls outside of the school premises. As the trio took a taxi to go to the other side of Tokyo, they stopped by a district that has Japanese-style restaurants and stores.
"Woah. I've never been to the west section of Tokyo." Ochaco said as she looked around the place.
"Yeah. But it's weird. Aren't we near Chiba right now?" Toru said while taking pictures with her phone.
"Sort of." Momo answered as she led the girls down the district. "Think of it as us being on the border."
They then reached a traditional black and white dojo, the logo of two fists colliding with each other on the entrance of the building. Ochaco looked at the dojo before Momo took them inside the place, flashing her card to the guard as they entered.
As they entered the place, the girls saw several people in white gis, some training by the punching bag while others were sparring with each other. Ochaco was intrigued until they stopped in front of an average height, muscular old man who was dressed in a white gi, what caught Ochaco and Toru's attention was the black belt around his waist.
"Greeting, young Momo. You've come again for another training session?" The old man said with a smile as Momo bowed, the girls following her gesture.
"Yes, master. I thank you for training me."
"It's nothing. It's good to see some people from the new generation not forgetting the old styles of martial arts." The man said until his eyes peered at Ochaco and Toru. "I see new faces. Are you also interested in our teachings?"
"They're interested but they wanted to keep watch today." Momo said, the elderly master nodded before he turned to the two girls and bowed. "Greetings, welcome to the Akuma Dojo. My name is Hajime Kendo and I'm the master of this dojo."
"Oh, hello, sir. My name is Ochaco Uraraka." Ochaco said as she bowed, Toru raising her hand in the air. "My name is Toru Hagakure! Hi!"
"It is good to meet you both. You can go to the benches there to watch us train." Hajime pointed at the benches. "If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me."
"Yes, sir!" The two girls said.
The two watched as everyone did their training and sparring, what caught their eye was Momo was sparring against another kendo user who was a woman with orange hair tied in a hair bun. The two fought against each other, their swords clashing and colliding until the woman knocked away Momo's kendo sword and put her sword near the teenager's neck.
"Good job, young Momo. Your swordsmanship is getting better." The woman said as she stepped back, watching Momo who bowed before she picked up her sword. "Thank you, master. May I get another round please?"
"Not a problem. Whenever you're ready." The two continued to spar with each other, Ochaco and Toru watching as the latter commented. "So that's how Yaomomo got so good."
"Yeah. I never thought that there would be someone better than her." Ochaco hummed as she watched the others sparring which caught the girl's interest.
After a while of looking around, they heard a motorcycle by the entrance, seeing a female biker with an orange mask with green streaks. Taking off the helmet, Ochaco and Toru were surprised to see Itsuka being the biker as she adjusted her hair and walked into the dojo.
"Hey, grandpa! I'm back!" She said as she entered the dojo with a smile on her face, getting a wave from the old man. Itsuka then noticed Momo, running towards her. "There she is! My training buddy. Come on, Momo! Let's spar!"
"Uhh..." Momo was caught off guard by Itsuka's enthusiasm before a sword slammed unto the orange-haired girl's head which made her hold her head and turn to the woman. "That hurts, Mom! Why did yo-"
The wooden sword slammed on her head again, her mother looked at her with a disappointed look before sighing, the other people chuckling at the banter between the mother and daughter.
"Young woman! At least go and change into your gi please." The woman said as she pointed to the changing room, Momo chuckling at a pouting Itsuka who slumped forward and walked through the door.
After a while, Itsuka returned in a black and white gi, what caught Ochaco's attention was the green belt around her waist. On her way to Momo, she noticed the two girls which made her have a huge smile.
"Uraraka and Hagakure! I didn't see you guys there!" Itsuka noticed them, quickly approaching them. "How do you guys like the family dojo?"
"It's good so far. We're just checking out right now." Ochaco said while Toru was checking all of the martial arts within the dojo before she turned to Itsuka. "You got anything here for like…weak people?"
"Weak people?" Itsuka raised an eyebrow in confusion. "How are you weak?"
"I'm not as strong as some of the people in my class. I mean I can barely do much in sparring against the big guys. Need to get my edge up, you know?" Toru said with an embarrassed face as she scratched her cheek. "So I was wondering if there is any fighting style that is up my alley. You know, for facing strong people."
"Depends. I'll have to ask Grandpa." Itsuka went to speak to one of the teachers of the dojo.
As the two girls continued to watch, Toru noticed something from her peripheral vision. She saw Minoru who was training against a woman who had long white hair and piercing blue eyes, the woman teaching him several karate moves.
"Oh my gosh! It's Mineta!" She exclaimed, surprising Ochaco as she saw the rainbow-haired girl run to the purple-haired boy.
"Hey, Mineta. How are you doing?" Toru waved at him as the grape-haired teenager looked at her for a while before his eyes widened. "You're from the Hero Course of UA. Ummm…Hagakure, right? The invisible girl?"
"Ding ding ding! Correct! How are you doing?" Toru said energetically, Ochaco raised a brow at the purple-haired teenager. Mineta smiled while scratching his head. "I'm doing alright."
"That's nice. What's the reason though? You're gonna have another go at the Hero Course?" Toru asked.
"Well, after failing the hero course. I decided to look into myself. Do a makeover. Change something about myself." He said as he looked at his hands. "Seeing you guys and how you all persevered…it really inspired me. I was pissed and jealous at first but when I looked back at it with a calm mind, it was really cool. I mean, Midoriya and Shinso managed to get through without barely using their quirks. And you learned robotics to get through as well. Everyone did their best. I just didn't try enough. I have no excuses but just to try harder."
"Oh…that's good to hear." Toru said with a smile, she honestly is happy that he did not hold any grudges against them. "How about Tanuki and Katakana? How are they doing? You guys were like a clique."
"Oh! Well, Emma decided that she wanted to be a model and she actually got scouted. She's training under Uwabami from what I've remembered. As for Hiru…" Mineta paused for a while, his expression being one between seriousness and nervousness. "I don't know what happened to him. He just left one day."
"Left?" Toru said with a raised brow. "You guys haven't met him since the exams?"
Mineta turned to a punching bag and started to attack it. "The failing of the exams…he did not take it nicely…he hanged out with us a few times but…to keep it short, he was super pissed…it was very concerning. He was pissed the most about Midoriya passing…I do hear he is taking a new course but apart from that, we haven't talk since."
"Oh…that's…" Toru looked down, Ochaco sharing her emotions before she spoke. "Unsettling?"
"Yeah." Toru said. "That."
"I know. Well, I'm not sure where he is now but keep safe...especially Midoriya." Mineta said as he focused back on the sandbag in front of him. "Oh yeah! Emma said that she is rooting for you guys."
"Thanks, Mineta." Toru said with a smile. Mineta just nodded as he continued training.
The two continued to watch everyone train until they decided that it was time to leave. As they were about to leave, Hajime walked up to them with a serene smile. "So? Did anything catch your eye?"
"Yeah. We'll come again! I need to get ready." Toru said while Ochaco was still undecided as she looked at the people around her. "I'm not sure. Maybe I need some more time."
The old man nodded before he put his hands behind his back. "You're welcome to come again."
"Let's get started from here." Ryo said while reading a few documents. "How are you feeling today, Katsuki Bakugo?"
"Tch!" Katsuki scoffed with his arms folded which made the guidance counsellor sigh. "You need to let out your emotions. Be mature about this."
The blonde kept quiet, his eye twitching when he looked to the window and saw some of his classmates that were training, the one that made him the most frustrated being Izuku who was training with Yosetsu, Denki and Hitoshi. He grinded his teeth when he saw Izuku doing target practice at the targets in front of him.
"That fucking…bastard…" Katsuki mumbled angrily. Ryo looked outside the window to see Denki trying to coat his body with lightning while Yosetsu created a makeshift weapon with his nun chucks.
"To think…" Katsuki's palm started unleashing small sparks while glaring at the green-haired teenager who was using his Air Bullet in different ways, one of them being a small gust of wind.
"Why is it so difficult to accept that he has a quirk?" Ryo said as he leaned by the window. "He has not went out of his way to insult you in anyway."
"Tch! His whole existence is an insult to me."
"Just because he's quirkless." Ryo raised a brow.
"You don't understand. He was a loser, a piece of garbage. He had no quirk...nothing but despite all of that, he was annoying. He kept working and training which was in vain everyone noticed him. Sadly, the dumbass didn't notice that if he does not stay in his own lane, he's going to crash and get hurt."
"Hmm?" Ryo decided to sit down and listened intently to Katsuki.
"Because the bastard won't give up, he got on everyone's nerves. He should stay below me but now he's in the same college and course as me. This should not be. He should not be in UA. Hell, Deku even had the audacity to stand up to me! Me! He should have amounted to nothing!"
"He worked hard, hasn't he?" Ryo said, deciding to choose his words carefully. "Are you saying that he doesn't deserve what he has? He wasn't some teacher's pet, was he?"
"Ha! Yeah, right? Him being a teacher's pet? That'll never happen. No one believed in him. Any effort he made just made everyone hate him more. But now..." Katsuki looked down to the ground. "It was like everything back in middle school was a fucking dream sequence. In fact, that bastard made me feel stupid! All this time he had a quirk! Everything was a damn lie!"
"Hmm, I see. What is your reason for being a hero, Katsuki Bakugo?" Ryo asked calmly as he went to the window. "Why are you so set on being a hero?"
"Ain't it obvious?" Katsuki made a huge grin as he pointed to himself. "Because I want to be the best! I want to be someone better than All Might, the greatest hero!"
"Hmm. That's an ambitious goal." Ryo said before he closed the window. "What made you want to go down this path? I can tell that you have admiration for All Might but was that the only reason."
"Hmph!" Katsuki grinned, putting his feet on the table. "All Might is powerful. He can take out hordes of villains without even trying. No matter who gets in his way, he always take them down."
The guidance counsellor made notes on his clipboard while listening to Katsuki who seemed to have a slightly calmer expression, much to his surprise. 'So he is capable of calming down.'
"All Might is the pinnacle of a hero in that way. He never gives up. Always winning. Nothing can beat him" The blonde said with a grin that quickly turned into a frown which Ryo noticed. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Katsuki mubled before he crossed his arms. "Just remembered the nerd had the same goal."
"He wanted to be the number one hero?"
"Ha! He's too much of a pansy for that. He wanted to be one that smile or some crap just like All Might." The blonde chuckled which confused Ryo.
"If you are aware of his goal then you should understand his feelings and ambitions then." The man stated with a growl.
"What's there to respect about that nerd? He's just a useless wimp. He's never good at anything in middle school. No matter what he does, he always loses. Why bother training or doing anything for that matter if he's going to be useless?" Katsuki said as he tapped his feet, shaking in anger. "Even the teachers lost all interest in him. He's just a defect. Dirt. A quirkless bastard."
Ryo had a calm demeanor, sighing while sorting out his papers. "Katsuki Bakugo. He is not useless or quirkless. In middle school, you're telling me that he has no talent at all. He has shown now that he has changed and you can change too. Become a better you. How were you in middle school?"
"Perfect and awesome in every way possible." He said with a grin as he pointed at himself. "Nobody is better than me."
"Hmm? That means that you were good at everything you do."
"Damn straight!"
"Hmm. Since you have come here, do you have any doubts about being in college so far?" Ryo said as he threw a stress ball at Katsuki who caught it and let out an explosion at it. "Tch! Just that some idiots caught me off guard but I don't care. I'll crush them when I get the chance."
"Hmm. You have a lot of determination. I'll give you that." Ryo stated which made Katsuki smirked. "Obviously, I'm stating facts. The future will be secured in my hands."
"If you continue to behave, I can honestly see that happening. Well, our session is over. Let's start with doing the community service right now...apart from sweeping the grounds." The guidance counselor stated as he left the room, Katsuki begrudgingly following with a sneer on his face. "Damn it..."
"Look at the bright side...if you behave, you'll be out of this. Take it as training to better yourself." Ryo said with a smirk which made Katsuki scoff as they both left the room.
It was after hours within UA University, Nezu was sitting in the room, checking some documents while typing on his computer.
"Hmm. Aldera Middle School was shut down? What was the reason?" He spoke to himself as he read the previous articles on the school.
The room was in complete silence, only the sound of his fingers tapping on the keys of the computer being heard. After a few minutes of quietude, he heard the doorknob clicking until it opened, his eyes not taken off his monitor screen.
"Welcome, gentlemen." Nezu said when he saw Kan and Shouta entered the room from one of the tabs on his computer, the latter being more exhausted as he yawned. "How are you doing? Is the students making progress?"
"Yeah. They are getting better at utilizing their quirks. I will soon be able to provide them with rescue and hero lessons." Kan said with a huge proud smile on his face. Shouta, on the other hand, rubbed his temples as he put down his papers. "A headache. The only good thing is that there are some that are not as bad so that's good. It's good that they're taking their lessons seriously."
"Oh, I see. That's good."
"Some of them are bigger headaches than others."
"Hmm. Let me guess: Katsuki Bakugo." Nezu said as he stopped typing, Kan's fists tightening at the mention of the name. Shouta let out a sigh before he nodded. "The one and only..."
"What should we do about Bakugo? We will soon have our cross-reference lesson between the classes and I don't want another incident." Sekijiro said, his arms crossed as he looked at the timetable for the Heroics course. "If anything, I would rather him and Midoriya not be in the same room until further notice."
"The timetable will have to continue. In case of this matter, I will have some teachers and students accompanying you." Nezu stated before he continued typing. "It's best to prepare them for the cross-reference class. How is Midoriya's development?"
"It's going smoothly. He has been making progress. He is more or less the same but with his gear, he has manifested the ability to shoot blasts of air." Sekijiro said, much to Shouta's surprise. "Hmm. So he has gotten that far? That's considerable process, especially with where he started from."
"Indeed." Sekijiro said with a smile. Shouta rubbed his temples with a sigh. "I wish he was in my class. Bakugo looks like he could fit with your attitude."
"Not really. With his volatile behavior, you and your quirk are the best things that can help with his temper tantrum. I'm surprised he's not gone."
"I'm sorry about that. There was not much that I could do." Nezu said as he put his hands together with a serious expression which shocked the two teachers. "The incident with Bakugo caused a lot more damage than I expected."
"Which reminds me, why is Bakugo not expelled for what has happened?" Shouta asked in a confused tone. "He attacked another student and it was not by accident either."
"Someone wanted Bakugo to stay here and because of their interference, the police or us could do anything." Nezu stated with a troubled expression which surprised Kan. "What?"
"Someone?" Shouta said with a serious expression as he drank some coffee. "How? Who?"
"You must remember, Eraser…as his personal record is right now, Midoriya's medical and personal record is still showing him as quirkless and you know how crimes are handled when done towards quirkless people." The principal said as he checked Izuku's information on his computer. "It's also the reason that he is not expelled."
"What?" Shouta raised a brow.
"This is one of the reasons I wanted to change Midoriya's status and his personal data." Nezu said as he typed away on his computer, his eyes glued to an article about Aldera Middle School. "Assault, whether with murderous intent or not, towards quirkless people will not be seen as serious and detrimental as to another person. It is why teachers do not really care if they are bullied, even to death."
"Are you kidding me?" Sekijiro's eyes widened in disbelief. Shouta, on the other hand, simply looked to the ground.
"Why do you think there has been such a decline in quirkless people? Even suicide attempts for them are not even broadcasted." Nezu explained as he turned his computer to them, showing several reports of quirkless suicide cases but what caught the two teachers' attention was the word at the top saying 'Discarded'.
"This is serious." Shouta squinted his eyes, Nezu nodded as he turned back the computer and continued typing.
"Indeed. Bakugo's actions made things more difficult. Also, his blurting of his status makes it even much harder to clear the suspicion within the campus. The kids from the hero course may not believe him but there can be others that could take things serious. And that can turn into rumors and rumors spread. This makes things much more difficult to be changed."
"So who was behind Katsuki Bakugo's sentence being lowered?" Kan asked as he checked his class' folder, a look of frustration on his face. Nezu turned his focus to the two teachers before he answered. "Well, apart from the fact that the law does not involve themselves in quirkless cases. It's a main company that is affiliated with Bakugo's father's company."
"Really now?"
"Yes. It's the main contributors of Bakugo's father's company. The name of the company being Detnerat." Nezu explained.
"Detnerat, huh?" Shouta said before he took another sip of his coffee. "That's a great PR team the kid has. Especially since they are one of our contributors with the resources for the support items we have."
"Indeed. There is nothing we can do with them. Just count our losses and prevent it from happening again." Nezu nodded before he continued with typing. "Be careful and keep an eye."
"Yeah. We'll keep an eye on both Midoriya and Bakugo." Shouta said as he got up, Nezu nodded to the teacher before his smile fell. "Yes. Please do...and to everyone else around the school premises. Who knows who's listening around us?"
Ochaco found herself at the dojo again, her eyes looking at the logo as her mind was completely at conflict. She looked at her hands, a blank expression on her face as she felt something. She wanted answers, she wanted a change and it is possible that she will be able to get it here.
She felt interested. Eager.
She thought that maybe she will find what she needed here. The brunette took steady breaths before she slapped her cheeks.
"Here goes nothing." She said before she went inside the dojo with one goal in mind. As she entered the place, she saw that things were as usual before she looked around the place for Hajime. "So you're back to the dojo again?"
Ochaco jumped and let out a small scream, turning to see the old man who was smiling behind her. "It is good to see you again, young Uraraka. What brings you here today? Here to watch another training session."
"Oh...maybe. I wanted to see if I could train here by any chance." Ochaco said with a blush, scratching her cheek before she looked around. "But I dunno. I don't really see a fighting style that is alright with me or can work with me."
"Hmm." Hajime had a serious look on his face before he turned around. "Follow me."
Ochaco followed the old man as he led her towards another room which is filled with several punching bags and training equipment.
"Why don't you test your strength against the punching bag here? Kotaru here will see how strong you are." Hajime said as she gestured Ochaco towards a black punching bag, a man with huge hands holding the bag as he gestured her. "You can go ahead and give me your strongest punch. I'll redirect the force for you."
Steadying her body, Ochaco swung her fist with all her might towards the punching bag. As she punched the bag, everyone watched in surprise when it was sent back, her fist embedded into the sack. Kotaru felt the shockwave of the girl's strike before his hand glowed as he walked over to the punching machine and tapped it which made it show a huge number of 250 psi.
"Woah! She's strong."
"You got one heck of a hook, girl."
"Woah! Remind me to never get you on your bad side." Itsuka said as she looked at the result. Ochaco, however, was surprised by her strength as she looked at her fist.
"Hmm. It seems that you're much stronger than I gave you credit for." Hajime said as he approached the girl, a smile on his face. "It is alright to fail a couple times."
"Huh?" Ochaco turned to the man who smiled as he turned around. "Not everyone can find their way immediately. Martial arts are a way of life. Once ingrained into your body, it can never come out."
The brunette was quiet as she contemplated the man's words, her expression somewhat pensive as she looked at everyone around her.
"You will find your way. Your style. Your flow. When you are ready to test yourself, you know where to find us." Hajime said as he left but before he could take one step, he heard something from the girl that made him smile. "I wanna train with you. I'll do what it takes to find it. My way."
He could not hold back his toothy smile as his expression became serious.
"Good. Now let us begin."
Another week, another chapter. Our girl Ochaco got her stuff going on. Nothing much from here. Just an Uraraka-centric chapter so enjoy.
Enigma out!
